Former Watford striker Troy Deeney believes a £100m English star could easily sign for Tottenham Hotspur this summer, despite his patchy form.
Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window, and bolstering their attack will be high on the agenda.
With Timo Werner expected to return to RB Leipzig and Richarlison facing an uncertain future at Spurs due to his injury record, the Lilywhites could be in the market for a new forward.
The club has already been linked with several exciting young talents. Tyler Dibling is one name being floated as a Spurs target, though Southampton’s staggering £100m valuation of Dibling could price Tottenham out of a deal.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has also been mentioned as a potential target, though he wouldn’t come cheap either.
Troy Deeney tips Grealish for a Spurs move
Indeed, Tottenham may need to rethink their approach when it comes to wide forwards, and Troy Deeney has thrown a familiar name into the mix.
The former Watford striker believes Jack Grealish could be a viable option for Spurs after the Englishman has struggled to nail down a starting role at Manchester City this season.

Speaking on TalkSPORT about Grealish’s situation, Deeney highlighted how Pep Guardiola has handled both him and Kevin De Bruyne this term, suggesting the England international has been left in limbo.
“I think Pep Guardiola’s one of the best coaches we’ve ever seen. I don’t think he’s handled the Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne situation very well this year, at all. I think he’s kind of just left them in the cold,” Deeney said.
“He will have to leave and I think he won’t be short of suitors. But I think now it’s a massive situation for him to find that right situation.
“He may have to lower his expectations in terms of wages and where he’s playing, but you could definitely see him going somewhere like Spurs, playing week in, week out.”
Of course, this comes as no surprise, as Jack Grealish has already been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the summer window.
Jack Grealish could bring much-needed experience to Tottenham
Tottenham’s focus on signing younger players is a solid long-term strategy, but adding some experienced winners to the Spurs squad wouldn’t hurt. Right now, there aren’t many players in the squad who know what it takes to lift silverware.
Grealish, at 29, has a wealth of experience, having won multiple Premier League titles and a historic treble with City.
If Spurs can bring him in, his presence could provide that extra bit of know-how to help the team finally break their long trophy drought—if, of course, it isn’t ended this season.
