Troy Parrott’s resurgence away from Tottenham Hotspur has not gone unnoticed, and his form could yet force a rethink in north London.
Not many former Tottenham Hotspur players who have departed the club will be looking back now and regretting their decision, given the precarious situation in which Spurs find themselves.
At the moment, Tottenham are in a crisis as they risk losing their Premier League status with five games left to play, while they sit in the bottom three.
For a club that secured European triumph last campaign to have fallen so drastically is nothing short of abysmal and illustrates just how badly things have turned for the Lilywhites.
Tottenham could utilise Troy Parrott transfer clause as £6.7m deal pays off
Amongst those to have departed from Spurs in recent years is Troy Parrott, who, after several loan spells away from the club, secured a permanent transfer in the summer of 2024, joining Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in a £6.7 million deal.
Tottenham managed to secure a 20 per cent sell-on clause in the transfer of Parrot, and the recent performances of the Irishman could well spark Spurs into action this summer window.
Parrott has now etched his name into a list of countless players who have departed Tottenham and gone on to win a trophy after an impressive display in the KNVB Cup final against NEC Nijmegen.

The former Spurs man was on target, scoring the final goal of the match, and he also managed an assist for the strike of Peer Koopmeiners to make it 3-0 to AZ Alkmaar with 15 minutes remaining.
You can watch his performance and goal here as he continues to prove his clinical nature in front of the goal.
Beyond the cup final, the overall display of Parrott this season is nothing short of impressive, with the forward managing 41 goal involvements in 45 games, 30 of which are goals alongside 11 assists.
It is claimed by football.london that the former Tottenham man is now on the radar of a host of clubs across Europe, with Napoli, Real Betis, Bayer Leverkusen and Ajax all credited with interest.
Spurs must monitor Troy Parrott’s progress as interest grows from Napoli and Ajax
When you include his international goals, Parrott is up to 47 goal involvements, a tally that leaves him with the fifth most goals of any player across the top 15 leagues in Europe.
For some context, the top scorer for Spurs has managed just 10 goals all season as Richarlison leads the line, highlighting the lack of productivity currently at the disposal of Roberto De Zerbi.
Fortunately for Tottenham, it is also reported by football.london that Troy Parrott would be keen on a return to north London, regardless of Spurs’ top-flight status, if he were to get the chance to show what he can do in their shirt.
He currently has a Transfermarkt value of €22 million (£18.3 million), a figure that has been on the rise since he moved to AZ Alkmaar, and it will not be a surprise if that value soars even further.
However, Spurs could secure his services at a discount as Parrott has proved his worth after being sold by the club, and the North London side could do a lot worse than looking at bringing him home, especially with that 20 per cent discount helping the finances.
Given the current lack of goals in the side, a homecoming for a player in such prolific form would be a logical step for the hierarchy to consider.
