Thomas Frank is keen on bringing a teenage midfield starlet to Tottenham, but the race for the youngster’s signature is heating up ahead of the January window.
The lack of creativity in the middle of the park has arguably been Tottenham’s biggest issue so far this season.
That has partly to do with the injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, while Xavi Simons has not hit the ground running at Spurs.
That may be why Tottenham are reported to be interested in Danish midfielder sensation Victor Froholdt, who has been a massive hit at Porto since his summer move from Copenhagen.
Real Madrid and Juventus are keen on Victor Froholdt
It was previously reported that Spurs could battle Man United and Atletico Madrid for the midfielder, who is valued at €50m-€60m (£43.5m-£52.2m).
Now, a new report in TuttoJuve has claimed that Real Madrid and Juventus have entered the race to land Froholdt in January.
The report makes no mention of Spurs, but adds that Napoli, Man United, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are also circling around the teenager.
MORE SPURS STORIES
It is asserted that the Bianconeri may have an advantage over other suitors in the race for the Denmark international since they have a good relationship with Porto.
Spurs do not need another attacking midfielder
Despite the Lilywhites’ lack of creativity this season, one would not say that a number ten is a priority for the club in January.
Xavi Simons will be given a chance to showcase what he can do, given the big money that Tottenham paid for him, while Lucas Bergvall has done exceptionally well when he has been fit.
