Tottenham appear to be in the market for a new left-back this summer.
Three days into July, and Mathys Tel remains the only addition to Thomas Frank’s squad ahead of what will be a crucial campaign.
Transfer activity has been remarkably slow in North London, and while several players have been linked with a move to Tottenham, nothing appears to be imminent.
However, with the new PSR year now fully upon us, the expectation is that movement will start to accelerate, and the latest update on Fulham’s Antonee Robinson will spark intrigue.
Robinson on Tottenham radar ahead of potential swoop
Signing attackers to bolster the forward line will almost certainly be a priority for Spurs, though they will not pass up on any opportunity that presents itself this summer.
MORE SPURS STORIES
Davide Frattesi has already emerged as a possible midfield arrival, and as per the latest reports, Robinson could be added to the squad to satisfy their depth requirements at full-back.
That is according to Paul O’Keefe, who claimed via InsideForeword that Robinson is being looked at by Tottenham ahead of a potential swoop.
The USMNT international has had an excellent time at Fulham, though his arrival would immediately raise questions over the future of Destiny Udogie, who is yet to live up to expectations since his move to North London.
Dennis Cirkin is another left-back to have been linked, and if deals for both are completed, there is a high chance that Udogie would be allowed to move on.
Tottenham must accelerate transfer plans
After finishing 17th, and sacking Ange Postecoglou as a result, many assumed that Spurs would be prepared to make the necessary decisions this summer, though that has not been the case.
Tottenham are in desperate need of reinforcements, both in terms of depth and starting quality, and a failure to get that business done early will only hamper their chances of progressing next season.
