Tottenham legend Heung-min Son is being backed to make a temporary return to Europe at the end of the Major League Soccer season, and a journalist has now revealed if there is truth behind those rumours.

As expected, Son has made the MLS look too easy since his switch to LAFC, with the former Tottenham captain having managed nine goals and three assists in ten outings.

This has led to question marks over whether the 33-year-old still has a lot to offer at the elite level, and there have been some suggestions that he could return to N17 on loan when the MLS season ends in December.

However, two weeks ago, Football Asian dismissed the possibility out of hand, claiming that it is not logistically possible for Son to return to Spurs on loan, given his pre-season commitments.

Could Tottenham legend Heung-min Son end up at AC Milan?

Over recent days, some outlets have suggested that Son could consider joining AC Milan in a temporary deal during the off-season (ESPN).

However, the chances of such a deal happening have now been played down by journalist Matteo Moretto, who revealed on his YouTube channel that there is nothing concrete behind the rumours.

In fact, he revealed that the Rossoneri have not shown any interest in the Spurs legend due to a number of reasons, including the cost of the operation.

Additionally, Milan believe they are well covered in the left-wing role and are prioritising signing a number nine rather than a wide-forward in January.

Ben Davies has made Son admission at Spurs

Speaking in the fan forum a week and a half ago, Ben Davies admitted that it is ‘strange’ not having Son around at Tottenham.

The pair have been together at Spurs since 2015, with Davies even naming Son as the godfather to his son.

However, Spurs fans may get an opportunity to see their hero soon, as Son has admitted that he would love to say goodbye at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having not had a chance to do that in the summer.
