While the Tottenham fans were in a jubilant mood as the Europa League trophy was paraded around the stadium on Sunday, they made sure that their displeasure towards Daniel Levy was known.

Even though Spurs lost 4-1 on Sunday to cap off what has been a disastrous domestic campaign, even that could not ruin the celebratory atmosphere inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The fans were in a jubilant mood after seeing the club break their 17-year trophy drought just days prior and were soaking in the scenes after the final whistle as the trophy was paraded around the venue for the first time.

The Spurs players and the coaching staff were given a guard of honour by Tottenham legends, many of whom were part of the club’s last European success back in 1984.

However, even in the celebratory atmosphere, the home fans made it known to Daniel Levy that he has still not been forgiven for the mistakes made during his tenure.

When the Spurs chairman came on the big screen at the stadium, he was greeted by a chorus of boos and the 63-year-old did not look best pleased.

On several occasions earlier this season, Tottenham fans protested in the thousands, calling for ENIC and Levy to leave, and it appears that the Europa League success has not changed their opinion about the owners.

Levy’s big decision was crucial in Spurs winning the Europa League

One can certainly understand the criticism Levy came under as the Tottenham supremo has made several big blunders, especially since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino in 2019.

However, he deserves credit for holding his nerve and persisting with Ange Postecoglou despite widespread calls for his sacking since the turn of the year.
