Amad Diallo has reportedly resumed training with the Manchester United first-team at Carrington this week.
There is only a reduced group of senior players being put through their paces in preparation for United’s return to action due to the ongoing international break, but fans will be delighted to hear that Amad is one of them.
Amad Diallo closing in on long-awaited return
One Red Devils insider revealed via UtdDistrict that the Ivorian international is now finally back on the grass, providing Michael Carrick with a ‘vital tactical boost’ in the lead-up to the Tottenham Hotspur clash on October 10.

On Tuesday, Samuel Luckhurst announced that United were hoping Amad would be back in the fold for the Old Trafford encounter against a winless Spurs side, so it is looking as though he’s edging closer to being match fit.
The 24-year-old has yet to feature this term due to an ankle injury he sustained during pre-season.
It came after an impressive World Cup campaign, during which he returned two goals in four appearances on football’s biggest stage.

How was Amad faring prior to his layoff?
However, Amad will have to do significantly more in a United shirt if he is to nail down a starting spot in the coming months.
He was a mainstay for the majority of 2025/2026, making 32 league appearances and 27 as a starter, yet recorded only two goals and four assists in 2,346 minutes of action.

Towards the end of the season, he went 16 matches without notching a single contribution.
After hosting the North London outfit, United travel to the Metropolitano to face Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, who sit second in La Liga, for their second Champions League group-phase fixture on Tuesday, October 13.
