Wayne Rooney has warned Tottenham Hotspur that they cannot sack Igor Tudor, as it gives the players an excuse to blame anyone but themselves.

Igor Tudor is under big pressure at Tottenham following three defeats from three as interim manager, and the team is sitting just one point above the relegation zone.

Tottenham have been assessing replacements for Tudor, but have now been told why a change of manager again could be dangerous.

Rooney has explained why they must stick it out with Tudor as they fight to remain in the Premier League this season.

Wayne Rooney believes that another interim Tottenham coach would have far too much pressure on them to remain in the Premier League.

Spurs could make a second managerial change in less than a month, with Tudor’s job at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium under serious pressure.

However, Rooney thinks the players need to shoulder some of the responsibility, and another change gives them an excuse to point the blame elsewhere.

He told The Wayne Rooney Show: “You can’t change it now. You can’t change the manager after bringing them in. That just causes more confusion, more, you know.

“You need you you need to trust the people above you as well. I think that’s important. If they change the manager now, I think that gives the players another excuse not to blame themselves and blame someone else, and puts that pressure on someone else to come in with new ideas again.

“I just think that there has to be something that the manager or the players or the board can do to get more because I think the fans at Tottenham at the minute, I feel so sorry for them.”

Harry Redknapp has been tipped for the Tottenham job as the club looks for a manager who knows the Premier League.

Sean Dyche has also been linked with Tottenham, which would be a huge twist in the race for Premier League survival.

The Lilywhites must get the next appointment spot on, otherwise they are almost certainly heading for the Championship.
