Tottenham fans are busy refreshing their social media feeds to find out if Conor Gallagher is officially a Spurs player yet.

The man who came through the youth ranks at Chelsea is set to join Thomas Frank’s squad after a deal was agreed with Atletico Madrid for a permanent transfer.

Gallagher is set to return to the Premier League and bolster the Tottenham squad, with Frank desperately needing to push the team into the top half of the table.

Spurs face West Ham on Saturday before a trip to Burnley, and if Frank is serious about keeping his job as the club’s head coach, six points really are a must.

Gallagher’s arrival at Tottenham is the hot topic of conversation right now, but will he be able to play on Saturday?

Michael Bridge shares whether Conor Gallagher will be signed in time for West Ham clash

Tottenham are desperate for a positive performance on the pitch, and signing Gallagher does suggest that the board are willing to back Frank.

The former Brentford boss only took over Tottenham in the summer, and perhaps he does need a little bit more time to get his methods across.

West Ham are fighting desperately against relegation this season and sitting seven points adrift in the relegation zone, ex-Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo knows he needs his team to win.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has given Spurs a lift, however, suggesting Gallagher will be signed in time to play on Saturday.

He said: “The interest and admiration for Gallagher has never been out of the blue. He will automatically go into that Tottenham side and could easily make his debut from the starting 11 on Saturday against West Ham United. And yeah it’s it’s a big signing, a much, much-needed signing for Tottenham Hotspur, and it’s very close.”

Gallagher would give Tottenham a lift vs West Ham

Were it not for a new signing, it’s hard to imagine what the atmosphere would have been like at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.

Spurs fans have grown really disgruntled with the performance levels in recent weeks and something needs to give on the pitch.

Having Gallagher on the pitch from the off would likely see the temperature among the fan base cool down a little bit and one thing that the player will bring is commitment from the off.

Fill in the blank: Conor Gallagher is a ______________ signing for Tottenham…

Is he actually what Spurs need right now?

Frank desperately needs the fan base on his side this weekend in a must-win six-pointer against a club that would dearly love to get one over Tottenham.

With Gallagher in from the off, Spurs should be capable of getting a result and more crucially it would get the fans all pulling in the same direction in pursuit of three points.
