Morgan Gibbs-White has extended his stay at Nottingham Forest to 2028 by signing a new contract with the Premier League club. The England international midfielder had been heavily linked with a summer transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, but the speculation was put to bed when Forest confirmed a new deal had been signed after their friendly with Fulham on Saturday.

After being heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, Morgan Gibbs-White is set to stay at Nottingham Forest after signing a new contract that runs until 2028.
Spurs chief Daniel Levy had activated the £60 million release clause in Gibbs-White’s contract before Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis got involved and the Midlands club reportedly threatened legal action over Tottenham approaching the player without the club’s permission.
Marinakis has got his way after the club announced the 25-year-old has signed a new contract that is a year longer than his previous deal - and is believed not to include a release clause, according to The Sun.

"I have felt at home at Forest from the moment I arrived," Gibbs-White said in a statement on Nottingham Forest’s website.
"The support from the fans, my team-mates, and everyone around the club has been unbelievable.
"I believe in what we are building here – and with the backing of Mr Marinakis and the enormous ambition he has, I want to be part of making something special. I am excited for what is to come."
As Forest jetted off to Portugal to continue their pre-season, Gibbs-White initially did not join the squad, before flying out later in the week and playing in the second half of their Saturday night friendly with Fulham.
Forest published pictures of Gibbs-White in team kit with Marinakis at the Estadio de Sao Luis, where they played Fulham, as part of the contract announcement.

Gibbs-White looked set to be the fifth senior player signed by Tottenham this transfer window and would have pushed their total spend to almost £200m with Joao Palhinha also a target.
However, Gibbs-White has now committed his future to Forest - and manager Nuno Espirito Santo can now prepare for a European campaign with the England international in his plans.
Having lost Anthony Elanga to Newcastle already this summer, keeping hold of the player who scored seven and assisted 10 goals last season will boost Forest’s chances both domestically and in Europe.
"Morgan is a special player – not just in terms of talent, but character and mentality," Marinakis said. "He represents everything we want this football club to be: he is a winner, talented, ambitious, fearless, and proud.
"There was significant interest from various clubs, but we were determined to build our future with Morgan at the heart of it. I promised our fans we would not only compete, but grow stronger and stronger every season. Today is another big step in that journey."
