Tottenham will likely make major changes to their playing squad in the summer transfer window, regardless of which division they find themselves in.

With four games of the Premier League season to play, Spurs are third from bottom, two points adrift of safety and in a battle with rivals West Ham United - and potentially Nottingham Forest - to preserve their status in the top flight.

Victory against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday was the Lilywhites' first in 2026, bringing to an end a quite astounding 118 days without picking up three points. And it was much-needed with both Forest and the Hammers winning over the weekend too.

Two Tottenham Transfers Have Already Been Agreed

New head coach Roberto De Zerbi will want to put his stamp on the squad in the summer transfer window, with rumours swirling around who could be allowed to leave and the players who could be on the shortlist for a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Plans will be changed accordingly, depending on which league Spurs are in come the end of the campaign.

Tottenham have already agreed deals in principle to sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool at the end of his contract at Anfield and Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth, at the end of his contract. However, both of those deals are contingent on Spurs being a Premier League club.

And Spurs could look at one of Robertson's teammates if past transfer interest is anything to go by.

According to reports, Tottenham made contact with Liverpool in the January transfer window over a move to sign Curtis Jones, but did not follow it up.

Spurs were in the market for reinforcements in January, but only made two signings under then boss Thomas Frank - Conor Gallagher and Souza.

Gallagher has been a regular starter under three different managers now, although much like many of his new teammates, has flattered to deceive at times. The 19-year-old Souza meanwhile has barely played.

The lack of transfer activity in January has been a bone of contention with many Spurs fans, who felt more was required to breathe life into their season.

Jurgen Klopp Loved Curtis Jones

Signing Jones may well have done that, with former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp once saying of the Englishman: "He is an exceptional talent, and we will have some fun with him, I am pretty sure, in the future."

But while Tottenham did consider making a move to sign Jones, they never actually lodged an official bid with Liverpool to complete a deal, instead opting to go all-in on Gallagher.

Whether new head coach De Zerbi wants to go back in for the 25-year-old remains to be seen, but he may be available on the cheap with his contract expiring in 2027.
