Will Lankshear will now try again to make his mark on the Championship after finding it tough going at West Brom last season, with the Tottenham striker agreeing a loan move to a second-tier club that Dane Scarlett previously played for.

Lanskhear has an exceptional record in youth football for Spurs, and he made his mark in the first-team last season, scoring his first senior goal for Spurs in their Europa League clash at Galatasaray.

However, the centre-forward struggled to make his mark on loan at West Brom last season, failing to find the back of the net in 13 appearances for the Baggies.

Lanskhear was one of five Spurs youngsters who travelled to Asia along with the Tottenham first-team, and it has now emerged that he has found a new home for the 2024-25 season.

Will Lankshear agrees loan from Tottenham to Oxford United

Despite his struggles at the Hawthorns last season, it turns out that there was no shortage of interest in the Tottenham academy striker’s services.

However, he stated that Oxford United, who finished 17th in the Championship last term, have won the race for the 20-year-old.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham have now confirmed that Lankshear has indeed joined Oxford United on loan for the 2025/26 campaign. One would assume there will be some kind of mid-season break clause, just in case a recall is required.

This means that Oxford have signed strikers from Spurs on loan in back-to-back seasons, with Dane Scarlett spending the first half of last season on loan at the Kassam Stadium.

Three other Spurs youngsters have already left on loan

The most high-profile loan departure from the Spurs this summer has been Mikey Moore, who has joined Scottish Premiership side Rangers.

Meanwhile, centre-back Ashley Phillips has rejoined Stoke City after spending last season at the Bet365 Stadium.
