Our Women’s Under-19s return to action on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Gwalia United in the first round of the FA Women’s National League Plate (2pm, UK).

Sabiha Jamal’s side secured their spot in this competition after finishing as one of the best third-placed teams in the FAWNL Cup group phase, where they faced Luton Town Ladies, Oxford United and MK Dons.

Sunday’s contest provides another opportunity for our youngsters to test themselves against senior opposition – with Gwalia United competing in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division (the third tier of Women’s football).

The Cardiff-based side are currently seventh in their league with nine points after seven games, while they finished second in their group consisting of Bristol City Academy, Keynsham Town and Swindon Town.

We will be available to call upon on our players currently dual-registered with senior sides – Ruby Gaitely, Kendra Brown, Cruz Fuller-Fagan and Erin Radbourne all in contention to feature.

Sabiha also confirmed that defender Blue Bartlett-Antwi has been promoted to join the leadership group as one of the co-captains of the squad.

Previewing the contest, Sabiha said: “The short break has been really good and we come into Sunday’s game after some positive performances in the league.

“It’s arguably one of the toughest draws we could have got in the competition but, for us, it’s about showing our personality, our character and our fight and giving absolutely everything on the pitch. We’re excited about the prospect of facing a top senior side and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”

Speaking ahead of the game, captain Mia Endacott said: “It’s always good to play against senior opposition as it can be both challenging physically and competitively.

“The style of football is completely different to what we experience in the PGA, so it’s a good exposure to us. It will be a great experience for the whole group and we’re ready to head there to showcase ourselves against a really tough side.”

Tickets are available via the Gwalia United ticketing website.

Minimal updates of the game will be provided in our Live Blog covering the Birmingham City cup clash, while match report and post-match reaction here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app.
