Tottenham Hotspur have been given a boost with the news that Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz wants to join the club during the summer transfer window, according to TBR Football.

It has been a busy few days for Spurs in the market after they followed up the signing of Mohammed Kudus from rivals West Ham United by agreeing a deal for Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest - although the east Midlands club are accusing the north London outfit of an illegal approach.

Those two potential signings look to just be the beginning for new manager Thomas Frank, who is also keen to land a central midfielder in the coming weeks.

Douglas Luiz Would 'Love' to Move to Tottenham

His representatives are pushing to join Spurs

Fabrizio Romano confirmed in his latest GIVEMESPORT newsletter that Spurs could turn their attentions to landing a midfielder next after solving the Gibbs-White deal, and TBR Football report that one of the targets they have already held talks for - Luiz - would 'love' to make the switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Following his impressive spell with Aston Villa previously, the Brazilian - described as 'world-class' by former teammate John McGinn - is keen to return to the Premier League and Fabio Paratici is well aware of his desire to play in England again.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old's representatives are pushing for a move to Tottenham to grant the player's wish of a move to the English capital.

Tottenham Have Other Midfield Targets

Spurs also targeting Joao Palhinha and Wharton

According to TBR Football, Tottenham are also assessing a move for Bayern Munich midfielder and former Fulham star Joao Palhinha, with the German giants open to letting him leave this summer after a tough spell at the Allianz Arena.

Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton is another player on Spurs' list, with Frank ready to make a move should the 21-year-old England international become available in the next few weeks.

However, the Eagles will likely make it difficult to complete a deal given how highly-rated he is at Selhurst Park, as well as the fact his contract still has four years left to run.
