Manchester United have received a major boost ahead of their Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur with Dejan Kulusevski suffering an injury.

The two English clubs will go head-to-head in Bilbao after they booked their place in the final earlier this week. Tottenham and United have endured disastrous campaigns domestically, but Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim have a chance to salvage something from the season on Wednesday 21st May.

United and Spurs are battling towards the bottom of the Premier League table, so winning the Europa League won't completely gloss over the disappointment, but it will certainly help. Winning the competition ensures qualification for next season's Champions League, which is huge for either club as they look to attract reinforcements in the summer.

Tottenham Suffer Major Injury Blow

Kulusevski limps off, it's good news for Man Utd

Tottenham have suffered a crucial blow ahead of the game, with Kulusevski being substituted due to injury against Crystal Palace on Sunday. He headed 'straight down the tunnel' with a member of the Spurs staff, with The Athletic's Jay Harris suggesting that it would be a 'disaster' if they lose him.

"Kulusevski walks off the pitch and goes straight down the tunnel with a member of staff With Maddison and Bergvall out of the Europa League final through injury, losing Kulusevski as well would be a disaster."

Kulusevski, described as 'world-class', is a crucial player at the best of times for Spurs, but with Lucas Bergvall and James Maddison also ruled out, not having the Swedish international available could be catastrophic. It's too early to tell whether he will be ruled out, but it's certainly not a good sign for Spurs.

If Maddison and Kulusevski are both unavailable, Tottenham will have a severe lack of creativity in their side. It's a major boost for Man Utd, but they have their own injury woes to contend with. Matthijs de Ligt missed the game against West Ham, while Leny Yoro picked up an injury during the match.
