Mikey Moore picked up an injury while playing for England’s Under-19s last week and Tottenham fans now have cause for concern about the winger’s fitness after what transpired on Tuesday.

The Spurs academy graduate, who had a breakthrough season in N17 last year, is now looking to win his second trophy in a space of months as England U19s set their sights on bringing home the European U19 Championship.

Moore was the best player on the pitch in the tournament opener against Norway on Saturday, proving unstoppable in the number ten role and finding the back of the net from the penalty spot as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

However, worryingly, the 17-year-old’s evening ended in less than ideal fashion as he appeared to roll his ankle in stoppage time before staying down and receiving treatment on the sidelines.

Moore did not feature for England U19s against Germany

There has been no official update either from Tottenham Hotspur or from the England camp about Mikey Moore’s apparent ankle injury.

Worryingly, the teenager did not even find a place on the bench on Tuesday as England played out a thrilling 5-5 draw against Germany.

Given how well Moore did in the tournament opener, it is certainly not conceivable that he was simply dropped from the squad by manager Will Antwi, with his absence clearly down to injury.
