Wrexham are determined to continue their impressive feat by adding a former Tottenham favourite to the mix.

Tottenham made history by winning the UEFA Europa League last season, but Wrexham are coming off a mindblowing feat of their own.

The Red Dragons had been struggling in the fifth tier of English football after being relegated from the Football League in 2001. However, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s takeover has seen them earn three successive promotions.

Wrexham will now play in the Championship for the first time in 43 years. As a result, the Welsh club is proving to be a hot destination for players to arrive at this summer, and the temptation has never been greater for one former Spurs star.

Wrexham make stunning approach to sign Christian Eriksen

Like Tottenham, the Red Dragons have become addicted to the taste of victory and are not prepared to go back.

As reported by the Mail Online on Friday (25 July), Christian Eriksen has been the subject of a stunning approach from Wrexham.

Intending to make a lasting impression in the Championship, Wrexham plan to pull off a splendid coup for the midfielder who departed Manchester United in May following the expiration of his contract.

While Eriksen was impressed by their approach, according to his representative Martin Schoots, he wants to continue playing in a top-flight competition. It is believed that clubs from Saudi Arabia, the United States, Turkey and Brazil are all interested in signing Eriksen this summer.

Tottenham should not consider a shock return for Eriksen

Daniel Levy doesn’t often pull off shock transfers, but when he does, it leaves fans lost for words.

The return of Eriksen to Hotspur Way would come as more than a shock to the system. After leaving Spurs in 2020 for Inter Milan, the Denmark international has won the FA and League Cups with Manchester United and Serie A at Inter.

However, Tottenham fans will remember him as part of the historic group that reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2019. But while memories of him are fond, a return is unlikely to be on the cards this summer.

The North London club is keen to allow their youth to take control of the future, and Eriksen’s return would go against this policy. Still, there is no doubt that most supporters will be wishing him well on his next adventure.
