Tottenham fans in disbelief at Xavi Simons after what he has done – ‘Very average’
Tottenham lost their second Premier League game of the season on Sunday after a disappointing return from international football.
Tottenham were without Cristian Romero for the clash against Aston Villa, and it showed after he dropped out minutes before kick-off.
Thomas Frank’s side were beaten 2-1 by Villa, despite Rodrigo Bentancur putting the Lilywhites ahead in the fifth minute of the match.
Xavi Simons started as Tottenham‘s attacking midfielder, but failed to have any real impact on the game, as Spurs fans have already piled in on the Dutchman.

Despite only starting in the Premier League on four occasions now, Simons’ role at Spurs is under threat, with him yet to score a goal for Frank.
After another poor performance against Villa, Simons could now find himself out of the side, as Tottenham fans have had their say.
Another Tottenham fan shared, “He ain’t it, not sure if he suits the Prem.”
One Spurs fans suggested, “Xavi is a complete midfielder and if you can find a way to unlock him it will be rewarding.”
Simons must adapt quickly at Spurs
The Villa game just seemed to pass Simons by, and every time he was in a threatening position on the edge of the box, the attacker seemed to hesitate in playing a killer ball or taking a shot.
Simons didn’t register a single successful dribble or shot in the defeat, and kept losing possession of the ball for Tottenham, with his side then being exploited on the counter-attack.
The young midfielder needs to take more risks and gain confidence quickly.
The Premier League doesn’t offer much time for luxury players like him to adapt, and Simons needs to get his Spurs career off the ground sooner rather than later.
