Yves Bissouma’s Tottenham career appears to be in tatters on Monday after what has just happened to him on international duty.
The midfielder has had a difficult time of it recently at Spurs, and he is yet to make a competitive appearance for them since Thomas Frank’s appointment over the summer.
Bissouma was left out of Tottenham’s Champions League squad, and has also had disciplinary issues at times during his spell in N17.
The 29-year-old was excellent in the Lilywhites’ Europa League triumph back in May, but he has since fallen firmly down the pecking order, and he may have just been dealt the final blow of his career in North London.
Yves Bissouma stretchered off in Mali win vs Madagascar
Bissouma is among a big group of Tottenham players who have been away on international duty this week, and he finally made his long-awaited return from injury in Mali’s 4-1 win over Madagascar.

The former Brighton star has been hampered by an injury issue of late, which has combined with Frank’s lack of faith in him to create a situation where he hadn’t played at all since the friendly defeat to Bayern Munich at the start of August.
It was not the return that he would have been hoping for on Sunday night, as he was introduced from the bench in the 66th minute, only to be stretchered off following a challenge just seconds after coming on.
It was a hugely unfortunate moment for Bissouma, and could easily represent the final nail in the coffin as far as his time at Spurs is concerned.
He is out of contract at the end of the season, and there had appeared to be little chance of him earning a fresh deal, unless he was able to convince Frank that he was worthy of a fairly drastic change of heart.
However, with a lengthy injury lay-off now likely to be on the cards, he may not even get another opportunity to impress the boss before his contract expires.
Yves Bissouma only has himself to blame for likely Tottenham fate
Tottenham tried to offload Bissouma on several occasions over the summer, and with Frank’s dismissal of him and now this latest injury, it seems almost inevitable that he won’t stay beyond next summer.
The midfielder has struggled with consistency for large parts of his three years in N17, and he ultimately only has himself to blame for the way that the last few months have played out.
Bissouma has often struggled with disciplinary issues, and the lateness that prompted Frank to leave him out of the squad for the UEFA Super Cup final was certainly not the right way to catch the eye of a new manager early into his reign.
His own actions have been a large contributor to his Tottenham demise, and it now looks likely that he won’t have enough time to even attempt to earn himself a reprieve.
