Spurs Sack Second Boss Since Postecoglou Exit As Celtic-Linked Manager Enters Frame
Tottenham Hotspur have plunged deeper into crisis after sacking their second manager since the departure of Ange Postecoglou last summer.
First it was Thomas Frank who failed to spark any real improvement and now his successor Igor Tudor has also been shown the door.
Tudor was brought in to steady the ship and steer Spurs away from danger.
Instead, results collapsed.
The London side are now just one point above the relegation zone, with their dismal run under Tudor leaving the club staring at a potential drop.
With time running out, Spurs chiefs have acted and attention has already turned to who comes next.
One name in the mix will capture attention in Glasgow.
Robbie Keane is reportedly in the running for the job.
The former Celtic-linked coach was heavily mentioned during the winter before the Hoops appointed Wilfried Nancy and his name has continued to circulate as Celtic weigh up a permanent appointment.
Now, according to talkSPORT, Keane is being considered by Spurs alongside Sean Dyche, Adi Hütter and former Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason.
However, the report adds that Spurs’ top target is Roberto De Zerbi, with approaches already made to try and land the ex-Brighton and Marseille boss before the end of the season.
With Spurs in freefall and survival on the line, a huge decision now looms and it could have knock-on effects for Celtic’s own managerial hunt.
