Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move to sign Roma centre-back Evan Ndicka, but face competition from across Europe.

The Reds are likely to need a replacement for Ibrahima Konate, and while Jeremy Jacquet has already been acquired, Arne Slot may be looking for a more senior option too.

Caught Offside report that Ndicka could well be that player, with Liverpool set to accelerate their attempts to bring the Ivorian to Anfield.

You can only pick ONE player for Liverpool to sign this summer, who is it?

Who should Richard Hughes be targeting above all…

Ndicka available for just £39m

As they search for defensive reinforcements, Liverpool are said to have been tracking Ndicka’s impressive performances for Roma this season.

The 26-year-old has been a consistent starter for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team, scoring five goals across 35 appearances.

This has seemingly caught the eye of Liverpool who are reportedly expected to increase their interest in Ndicka over the coming months.

The Reds are not the only ones claimed to be in the mix, though, with Tottenham, Man United and Barcelona all considering a move for the Ivory Coast international.

Roma are said to be keen to keep hold of Ndicka if possible, but would reportedly entertain a sale if an offer of around £39m arrived.

Liverpool turned Ndicka down in 2023

Liverpool supporters with good memories may remember that Ndicka was linked with the Reds before leaving Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer in 2023.

Jurgen Klopp ultimately decided not to sign a centre-back, though, with journalist Fabrizio Romano claiming that Liverpool turned down the chance to sign Ndicka after speaking with his representatives.

Which players should Liverpool target to replace Mohamed Salah this summer? 🤔

A seven-man shortlist has already been reported:

Since then, the defender has gone on to become a key player for Roma, and now has an impressive eight years behind him in the Bundesliga and Serie A.

Having also played in France with Auxerre as a teenager, perhaps Ndicka feels it is finally time to try his hand in the Premier League.

With Liverpool almost certainly needing more cover in defence, the Roma stopper appears to be a good option to help youngsters Jeremy Jacquet and Giovanni Leoni as they step up to bigger first-team duties next season.
