Posh who are about to embark on their first ever season in the Women’s National League, saw off Tottenham Hotspur Professional Game Academy 4-1 at PIMS Park on Sunday (August 9).

The team acts as a pathway for the Spurs senior side, who currently play in the Women’s Super League.

Poppie Brown saw Posh over the line with a brilliant second half hat-trick, having only come on just before the hour mark.

Jess Driscoll grabbed the first for Posh when she received a pass from Evie Driscoll-King and flicked into the corner from close-range.

Keir Perkins and Driscoll-King came close to extending the lead before Posh were forced into a change and Crista Ganado had to replace Ellie May.

Just after the hour mark, Brown grabbed her first as she lashed the ball past the keeper from just inside the box.

She added her second ten later, Brown got her second by getting on the end of a ball in from Romy Saunders.

On 79 minutes, the visitors pulled a goal back but Brown restored the three-goal cushion be racing through on goal and calmly placing her finish into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

Posh begin their first-ever season in the third tier on Sunday (August 16) as they travel to Kilsby Lane to face Rugby Borough, 3pm kick-off.
