Real Bedford Women welcome Tottenham Hotspur PGA to the Ledger Stadium on Sunday 27th September for our final FAWNL Cup Group P fixture, with top spot at stake.
The Pirates have made an excellent start to the competition, winning both opening matches and scoring nine goals while conceding just once. Tottenham also arrive with maximum points, setting up an exciting contest as Charlie Bill’s side look to complete the group stage with a third successive victory.

OUR CUP CAMPAIGN SO FAR
Real Bedford opened their campaign with a convincing 5-1 victory over Northampton Town. Zynia Delglyn led the way with a hat-trick, including a first-half penalty, while Lily Whitelock and Melis Mehmet were also on target as the Pirates collected their first three points.
Another strong performance followed at London Bees, where Real Bedford scored four times inside the opening 21 minutes to secure a 4-0 win. Whitelock opened the scoring inside the first minute, Head added her first goal for the club and Sophie Byrom struck twice to complete a commanding opening spell. The Pirates then protected their clean sheet to make it two wins from two.
Those results put Real Bedford top of Group P on six points, with a goal difference of +8. Tottenham are second, also on six points, with a goal difference of +7 following their victories over London Bees and Northampton.
The 22 group winners and ten best runners-up progress to the Cup knockout stages. The remaining 12 runners-up and 20 best third-placed teams enter the Plate, meaning both Real Bedford and Tottenham are already assured of continuing in one of the two competitions.
OPPOSITION FOCUS
Tottenham Hotspur’s Women’s Under-19s (PGA) have started the 2026/27 season strongly, losing just once in seven matches across all competitions.
Matt Sharman’s side sit fourth in their Professional Game Academy League table, collecting eight points from five games. Their results include victories over Southampton and Bristol City, alongside draws with London City Lionesses and an Arsenal side that has won consecutive PGA League titles.
The visitors have carried that form into the FAWNL Cup. An emphatic 7-1 victory away at London Bees was followed by a narrower success at Northampton Town, where Eloise Summers-Mee’s early goal secured a 1-0 win at Sixfields.
Last season, Spurs reached the knockout stages of the Plate before losing 4-3 to Gwalia United after extra-time. Their academy players will now be looking to build on that experience against the Pirates.
The pathway towards first-team football has also been evident in recent months. Jhanaie Pierre, who signed her first professional contract with Tottenham in August, joined fellow academy graduates Heidi Hills and Sophie Jackson in Martin Ho’s squad for their pre-season trip to Spain.

Fans travelling via the M1 should leave the motorway at Junction 13 before joining the A421 Bedford Bypass. Continue on the A421 before taking the A603 Sandy exit. The Ledger Stadium is approximately 200 yards on the left-hand side of Meadow Lane. Follow the Real Bedford signage upon turning onto Meadow Lane. Sat Nav: MK44 3LW
PARKING
Limited parking is available immediately before the Ledger Stadium on the left-hand side. An overflow car park is also available immediately on the right as you enter Meadow Lane. Supporters are encouraged to arrive early or travel together where possible.
