Description

The Premier League returns after an eventful international break which saw the likes of Curacao and Scotland qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Now it is all about top-flight football in England and we have some exciting stuff to look forward to this weekend.

After Arsenal's draw against Sunderland, it can't be said that it is a foregone conclusion that Mikel Arteta and company will win the league title. But they are still favourites and I'll tell you why. Manchester City are not far behind Arsenal, but they are so heavily reliant on Erling Haaland. Arsenal will have quite a few first team regulars missing through injury this weekend, and despite that, I expect them to field a very strong team against Nottingham Forest. No other team in the league can do the same, and that is the difference!

Thanks for the submission!

Arsenal have a big week coming up. After the derby at home to Tottenham, they face Bayern Munich in a match that will prove their credentials about winning the Champions League, before taking on another big London rival in Chelsea next weekend. This run will determine how far they can go this season.

On that note, let us dive straight into my predictions for gameweek 12 in the Premier League.

Burnley vs Chelsea

When you come into a game like this after the international break, it's so different than usual. We saw Liverpool lose to Nottingham Forest in a similar game after one of the international breaks last season. So it's never an easy game to call.

Burnley need to start winning games at home. But I just think Chelsea will be stronger all over the pitch and I expect the visitors to win. I would go with Liam Delap as the striker for this game and I'd stick to that even after Cole Palmer returns from injury. Palmer is someone who needs runners with him, that is why Nicolas Jackson was such a good option for Chelsea.

If Joao Pedro plays as striker, he will drop deep and that will not free up enough space for Palmer to operate. Delap, on the other hand, is a willing runner and a proper number nine who will suit Palmer in my opinion.

Only time will tell if Palmer can make it to England's World Cup squad for next year though. He will have to come back from injury and hit the ground running straightaway. Palmer needs a run of form like the one he had when he first burst onto the scene at Chelsea.

Prediction: Burnley 0-2 Chelsea

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest

This is the exact fixture I was talking about earlier. Last September, Liverpool lost to Forest at Anfield after the international break. I know Forest are still second-bottom in the table, but they have kicked on a bit under Sean Dyche. They have only lost to Bournemouth in the last five games, which includes wins over Porto, Leeds and a draw against Manchester United.

Forest have certainly enjoyed an uptick in terms of results. However, I just can't see Liverpool not scoring in this game. Forest are not keeping a clean sheet at Anfield for sure!

Florian Wirtz looked good for Germany in the international break. I know the opposition wasn't the strongest, but he's the top boy in Germany. Wirtz has the faith of the manager and goes out and expresses himself to the best of his abilities when he puts on that shirt. At Liverpool, he is always behind the eight ball. Last week against Manchester City, Wirtz looked like he had never played football before!

Don't get me wrong, I like him as a player. But if you pay over £100 million for a player and he does nothing in such a big game, that is a worrying sign for your team. Wirtz wasn't the only one who did nothing in that game, but Liverpool paid the big bucks for him to take them to the next level. It's obviously not his fault that they paid that amount of money, but the price-tag will always add to the expectations.

I would actually start Wirtz in this game. If you play him against City at the Etihad, you have to start him against Forest at Anfield. He needs a run of games to get used to the intensity of the league. If someone else comes in for him and they score, then people will start questioning him again, which does no good for his confidence.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Bournemouth vs West Ham United

West Ham have done well in recent weeks. Consecutive wins over Newcastle and Burnley have given them a huge lift in the battle to avoid relegation. I just think this game away from home to Bournemouth is very tough though. I said earlier that I don't see West Ham going down and I stand by it. But winning this game will be a bit of a stretch for them.

Bournemouth are a team that must work really hard every single week to keep punching above their weight. They come into this game on the back of a couple of big losses. The defeat against City at the Etihad is understandable, but losing 4-0 against Aston Villa, that scoreline was a bit surprising. It just shows how tough and unpredictable the Premier League can be. I'm expecting Bournemouth to bounce back in style this weekend.

Prediction: Bournemouth 3-0 West Ham United

Wolves vs Crystal Palace

Wolves' new manager is finally here. Rob Edwards has a tough job on his hands to get them out of the relegation zone. This is not the easiest game when you take charge of a club like Wolves, but it is also not the toughest when you think about it!

An ex-player coming back as manager to save them? The crowd will certainly be up for it. This is a cup final for Wolves. They have just two points in 11 matches and another loss here would be insult to injury.

Even though the new manager coming in gives Wolves a slight chance, I can't look beyond a Crystal Palace win in this game. Wolves fans will be praying for a miracle!

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Crystal Palace

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford

I'm not too convinced about Brentford when they play away from home. They are one of the toughest teams to face on their home turf, but it's a completely different story when they hit the road. Honestly, there really isn't much between these sides, they are evenly-matched if you ask me.

West Ham winning two games on the bounce has made the relegation battle tight at the bottom. Whoever loses this game will know they are only a couple of defeats away from being dragged into that battle to avoid the drop!

If Brentford were playing at home, I would have backed them. I'm going with Brighton instead, purely because of home advantage.

Prediction: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 Brentford

Fulham vs Sunderland

Sunderland have been amazing, what an unbelievable start on their return to the Premier League. This is a game where Fulham need a result because they are playing at home and have not been great to watch in recent weeks.

The defeat to Everton before the international break now means they sit just one point above the relegation zone. I admit that Fulham are not as bad as the table suggests, but every time I talk to their fans, most of them are worried about the possibility of going down and that isn't a good sign. If they don't win this game, they will be among the teams fearing the drop.

Even though Fulham were poor against Everton, I'm backing them here. A lot of Sunderland fans will think I'm mad, but it's what I really think.

Prediction: Fulham 2-1 Sunderland

Newcastle United vs Manchester City

If Manchester City win this game, I will be thinking that should they keep all their main players fit, they can challenge Arsenal. Newcastle have not been at their best on home turf so far this season, but it is still one of the toughest fixtures in the league. If Eddie Howe's team can play like they did against Liverpool, they have a chance at winning this game!

Erling Haaland has been scoring goals for fun. But will that help him win the Ballon d'Or? The answer is no. No matter how many goals you score, it always comes down to your performance in the Champions League and City must win that trophy to give Haaland a strong chance to win the award.

Nick Woltemade has also impressed me so far. I always wonder when players come to the Premier League, 'if they were so good, why didn't Bayern Munich want them?'. That is not the case with Woltemade, he's showing why Bayern really wanted him to be their number nine. Woltemade reminds me of Peter Crouch. He is not just a target man, he can play with the ball and likes it being fed into his feet. Woltemade will cause problems to other teams every single week. If Newcastle's midfield three can fire like last season, it will be perfect for him.

Newcastle away is a tricky fixture right after the international break and that's why I think City will drop points in this one.

Prediction: Newcastle United 1-1 Manchester City

Leeds United vs Aston Villa

I worry for Leeds a bit. I look at their team and I don't know who is going to give them that X-factor. Aston Villa have turned a massive corner in recent weeks and are one of the most in-form teams in the league. I'd be shocked if they lose this game.

Ollie Watkins hasn't really turned up so far this season. He does a lot of unselfish work for the team though. I don't think that work will go unnoticed in the eyes of the manager. Hopefully, the goals can also follow soon.

Leeds need to go out and sign someone who can bring the X-factor to their team in January, if they want to stay in the Premier League. An easy win for Villa here.

Prediction: Leeds United 1-3 Aston Villa

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

This is the game! When I used to play for Arsenal, I used to ring my dad up and tell him when we're playing Tottenham as soon as the fixtures were out. I know Liverpool and Manchester City are bigger opponents for Arsenal in the title race, but for the fans, this is the biggest game!

Tottenham are top of the league table if you only consider form away from home. When Spurs are not the favourites and they sit back, absorb pressure and hit you on the break, they are a tricky team to face.

If Arsenal were playing away from home, I would have given Tottenham no chance! Mikel Arteta also has to deal with injuries to some key players, so I don't think this game is a straighforward win for Arsenal. Will Viktor Gyokeres be fit? Can Leandro Trossard make an impact like he did in the last game? There are so many questions to be answered.

Arsenal vs Tottenham has always been one of the most entertaining matches in the Premier League. But I don't think that will be the case here. I'm expecting a tight, cagey affair with Arsenal coming out on top in the end.

Prediction: Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United vs Everton

Manchester United are slowly starting to find some rhythm. I say that carefully because we wouldn't have said this about them last season or the one before that. United have been quite bad in terms of stitching together a run of results, but there is a bit of hope now.

Benjamin Sesko being ruled out does not help Everton because they would rather play against him. If Sesko played, Everton know what they are up against and how to mark him. When it's Matheus Cunha playing that false-nine role, it's entirely different. One second you're looking at Cunha and the next thing you know it's Bryan Mbeumo also working in tandem with him. With Sesko, United can only play one way and that would have been easier to deal with.

Casemiro looks confident now and it is making a huge difference to Manchester United. I don't want to take credit away from home, he's won five Champions League trophies with Real Madrid, but he's benefitting from the arrival of Cunha and Mbeumo. Teams are now aware of the threat that United have while going forward, so they are not keen on opening the game up. It has taken some pressure off Casemiro with teams constantly being bothered about the threat of those two players on the break. When the people around you start playing well, the mix becomes a good cocktail!

I said Manchester United won't beat Forest even though they were flying at the time. That draw was disappointing but I expect them to make amends with a win this weekend.

Description

Arne Slot will not be sacked soon, he will get time at Liverpool because he won the Premier League last season. But with the team he picked during the Carabao Cup fourth round loss to Crystal Palace, he has now put too much pressure on himself before the game against Aston Villa on Saturday. That team had no chance of winning against Palace.

If you lose to Real Madrid next week in the Champions League it does not make much difference to their hopes of being in the knockout stages. But that loss to Palace has now knocked them straight out of the running for a piece of silverware that could have become the shining light in a difficult season! Losing six out of seven games isn't normal and all eyes will be on Slot and how his team does this weekend.

Gameweek nine was just perfect for Arsenal. All of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City lost as they beat Crystal Palace. It has now put severe pressure on everybody hoping to chase Arsenal down. If you look at the Carabao Cup fourth round games, even Arsenal made 10 changes to their line-up like Liverpool and yet, they didn't get slaughtered like their rivals! That is the difference this year.

Unlike Liverpool, Arsenal put their big guns on the bench at least in the cup game against Brighton. I don't know why Slot opted against doing that. When it's not going well for your team in the league, any side could use a good cup run. Liverpool failed to capitalise on it and for a team that has so much talent, losing these many games in a short span of time is worrying.

On that note, let us dive straight into my predictions for gameweek 10 in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace vs Brentford

Both teams have had some incredible results in recent weeks, but we need to talk more about Brentford. They have now won three straight games and four of their last five matches in all competitions. This run has seen them beat both Manchester United and Liverpool in the Premier League!

All of us wax lyrical about Crystal Palace every now and then, but Brentford have the same number of points as them and have scored more goals in the league this season. Yet, we don't always give Brentford the credit they deserve, which is crazy.

This is a tough one to call. Brentford have not played well away from home, except for that game against West Ham. Crystal Palace are a much, much better team than West Ham and at Selhurst Park, I think they will have enough to get the better of Brentford by the odd goal.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-1 Brentford

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United

Manchester United are turning a corner at the moment. The United team we've known over the last few seasons would have lost that game against Brighton last weekend. I agree that they got lucky along the way in that 4-2 win but they still won and that's all that matters for now!

If I had to pick a winner in this game, it will be Manchester United. But I know how Sean Dyche will approach this game, he will set Forest up to frustrate United. He will put 10 men behind the ball and sit deep. Even though Manchester United have the firepower to hurt Forest, it won't be easy breaking that team down.

Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha look good. Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole used to be an unbelievable partnership and these two could become a success like that duo at Manchester United. Mbeumo and Cunha will always create problems for opponents, it's just that they have to do it consistently. The teams they played for last season, Brentford and Wolves, they weren't the most consistent sides. So Mbeumo and Cunha haven't had that pressure of playing well every single weekend.

But now they're at United and more is expected. If Brentford or Wolves lose to Nottingham Forest, no one bats an eyelid. But if it's Manchester United and they end up losing, the headlines just write on their own. That is what Mbeumo and Cunha have to deal with now.

I would only rate Manchester United's chances of finishing in the top five after this game. Form and consistency are two different things. If they beat Forest, you would have to think they are contenders for a top-five finish. But I doubt they can get three points in this game.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Manchester United

Burnley vs Arsenal

It all depends on how quickly Arsenal can break Burnley down. We saw how Liverpool struggled to do that for a long time before nicking a late win at Burnley earlier this season. Burnley have performed well at home. They sit back and play to their strengths, which is not a bad thing if you're a newly-promoted team looking to stay up in this league.

The way Arsenal are playing, if Burnley can even get a shot on goal, it's a job well done! That's how good Arsenal are. I read this crazy stat the other day - if Arsenal would have conceded a goal from every shot they faced this season, they would still have 13 or 14 points at this stage. That stat is just out of this world. Arsenal have been compared to Jose Mourinho's Chelsea of the past. The difference between that Chelsea team and Arsenal is that they did it for the whole season. Arsenal have only done it for nine games, and still have three quarters of the season left to play.

If Arsenal want to be as good as that Chelsea team, they have to concede not more than four goals in every nine games coming up. If that happens in this day and age, it will quite simply be unbelievable.

I said on 19th September that if Arsenal get four points out of their games against Manchester City and Newcastle United, they win the league. Arsenal did it and I stand by what I said. In fact, the title race could be done and dusted in the next two weeks! Arsenal face Burnley and Sunderland before the international break, while Liverpool have Aston Villa and Manchester City. I expect Arsenal to win both them games and I'm not backing Liverpool to win this weekend. If City and Liverpool then take points off each other in gameweek 11, I think Arsenal will win the league quite comfortably.

I even believe Arsenal could enjoy a good run in the Champions League because by the time it reaches the latter stages, we could be looking at a situation where they would have sealed the league title already!

Prediction: Burnley 0-2 Arsenal

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Leeds United

Brighton are a funny team. They were a bit unlucky against Manchester United last weekend. On another day, they may have got something out of that game but it wasn't meant to be. Brighton are very inconsistent and being knocked out of the cup by Arsenal in midweek, wasn't ideal either.

Leeds have impressed me so far this season. That win against West Ham last weekend will give them a huge boost. But I just feel Brighton will win this game since they're at home.

Prediction: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 Leeds United

Fulham vs Wolves

This is a cup final. If Wolves win, they are just three points from safety. But if they get beat, that's at least eight points between them and 17th-place. This is a must win game for them, there are no two ways about it.

Fulham have struggled in recent weeks. The loss to Newcastle last weekend was their fourth straight defeat. I know they weren't easy games against Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Newcastle, but it has left them 17th in the table, just three points ahead of Nottingham Forest in the drop zone.

If Fulham lose this game, you would have to think they are in the battle to avoid relegation. I know they are a better team than what the table suggests, but imagine losing to a team that's rock-bottom and are still searching for their first win of the season, that's a problem!

I don't see Fulham going down at the end of the season. I can't keep saying the same about Wolves if they fail to get a result here because they have already lost to all three of the newly-promoted teams. I think it gets worse for Wolves, some tough fixtures coming up too.

Prediction: Fulham 2-0 Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

Chelsea rested a few of their main players for the cup game against Wolves and luckily they got through. Tottenham will be disappointed about not making it to the next round like Chelsea after their loss to Newcastle.

I don't think Spurs are a great team when they play at home. If you look at the league table based on results at home and away, it paints an accurate picture. Tottenham are 17th in the league if you only count results from their home games, while they are at the top if you consider just games on the road!

Thomas Frank will be happy with Spurs' result against Everton last weekend. I know it was 3-0 but Guglielmo Vicario still made some top draw saves in that game.

This is the biggest game of the season for both teams. After this, Chelsea face Wolves and Burnley in the league. If they can beat Spurs this weekend, they will be confident of going into them games feeling like they can make it three straight wins before the international break.

Liam Delap getting sent off in the cup game against Wolves is disappointing because it would have been an interesting battle between him and Micky van de Ven. Unlike Joao Pedro, Delap has strength and does not drop deep too often. He would have tested that back four if he was available.

Chelsea must start with Pedro Neto in this game. It's a big pitch at Tottenham and he's quick as anything. I'm almost certain Estevao will also start the game. Both wingers must track back though. Spurs have full-backs who love to go forward, so if the Chelsea wingers do not help out in defence, their team will get overrun. I expect Enzo Maresca to make his team selection based on who he trusts more to do the defensive work down the flanks, otherwise Chelsea are in trouble.

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Chelsea

Liverpool vs Aston Villa

If you are looking at the form table, Aston Villa are at the top and Liverpool are languishing towards the bottom. Unai Emery's men will go to Anfield on Saturday with a lot of confidence. Barring the shock loss they suffered to Go Ahead Eagles, Villa have been faultless in recent weeks.

Part of me goes, 'at some point Liverpool will start winning games again'. But when you lose six out of seven games, something is wrong. And it's not just the games you are losing, it's also the confidence.

Villa have nothing to lose here. Even if they lose this game, it's not a big problem. That freedom will give them an advantage. Both teams are also now on the same number of points, which is crazy considering how Villa had that tough start to the season. Just shows how quickly things can change. The only problem with Villa is that they haven't been scoring enough goals. I know they have let in just eight goals in the Premier League, but they have scored only nine in nine games! Liverpool have let in so many goals in recent weeks, but can Villa take advantage of the Reds' shaky defence?

Another big question is whether or not Mohamed Salah starts this game for Liverpool. I think he does. If you want chances falling to players in games like these, Salah is still certainly one of them. I know he hasn't been scoring goals, but they can't leave him out of this game.

Liverpool should forget about the Real Madrid game next week. If they lose that one, they can still qualify for the Champions League knockout stages. But defeat to Aston Villa could be the end of their hopes of retaining the Premier League title. That would put them 10 points behind Arsenal with a game against Manchester City coming up. Not the best situation, and I worry for Liverpool because I don't see them beating Villa this weekend.

Prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Aston Villa

West Ham United vs Newcastle United

West Ham are a team that are the worst in the league when it comes to playing at home and this weekend, they face Newcastle, who have won just one game away from home all season! I don't think West Ham have won at home since 27 February and that was against a struggling Leicester City, who got relegated in the end.

The way West Ham have been losing games, it's alarming. Brentford absolutely destroyed them in their last home game. Newcastle have to deal with a lot of games and a hectic schedule but I can't see anything but a win for them here.

Prediction: West Ham United 1-3 Newcastle United

Manchester City vs Bournemouth

This will be a fun game to watch. Bournemouth will go to the Etihad with full confidence, so it's a difficult one to call. Three or four years ago, this could have been a game where we would go, 'how many goals will City win by?'. But that's not the case anymore, Bournemouth are playing as good as anybody in the league now.

If you want to beat City, you have to hit them with pace on the counter-attack and pick the right pass. Bournemouth have the ammunition and the ability to do just that, but can they be brave away from home? It's easy to do that when you're a mid-table team. Now, things are being expected of Bournemouth, even though they may not admit it.

We saw it in the Scottish Premiership. Hearts beat Celtic and went eight points clear in the title race. And then, they drew away from home to St. Mirren. Over the years, that would have been an acceptable result for Hearts but not anymore! Same here for Bournemouth, a defeat would be a huge disappointment considering how both teams are playing at the moment.

I don't know why, I'm going with Manchester City here. No clean sheet because they will give chances to Bournemouth, but I think they can still get a win.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Bournemouth

Sunderland vs Everton

This is a tough game for Everton. I was impressed by Sunderland during their win over Chelsea. I thought that was a great all-round performance. Sunderland defended well, broke with pace and found the right passes to hurt Chelsea. It has been nothing short of an incredible return to the Premier League for them.

Everton haven't been great away from home. I can't believe what I'm about to predict here but I'm still going to do it. Sunderland to win this! I know this is a game that can come back to haunt me because at some point, Sunderland will start losing games. If that happens this weekend, then you look at this prediction and think, 'why did he even back Sunderland against the quality Everton have in attack?'

If Everton play to the best of their abilities, there's a chance. But purely based on form and how Sunderland beat Chelsea, I'm going to back them. If Sunderland win and I get all my other predictions right, they will be second in the table! 20 points after 10 games, can you imagine that? They would be 18 points clear of Wolves then. Let's not forget that these 10 games also include a loss to Burnley, just phenomenal when you think of it.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa Prediction and Betting Tips | 19th October 2025 - Sportskeeda
Description

Premier League high-fliers Tottenham Hotspur host Aston Villa at home on Sunday as club football resumes after the international break. Spurs have adapted well under new manager Thomas Frank and currently sit third in the league, while Villa's uneven start to the campaign sees them languishing at 13th.

The Lilywhites seem revitalized under Frank. Fresh from winning the Europa League last season, they have emerged as one of the most exciting teams in the early stages of the new Premier League campaign.

With four wins, two draws and one loss so far, they trail arch-rivals and table toppers Arsenal by just two points. However, Frank can't relax just yet as the North London outfit still has a few wrinkles that need to be ironed out.

Their home record in the league is a major source of concern. They have won just three of their last 17 top-flight matches on home soil, and it is not the kind of habit that clubs with lofty aspirations can afford to harbor.

Frank will have his work cut out on Sunday when he goes up against Unai Emery, his Villa counterpart and former Arsenal manager. The Dane is yet to beat Emery after five Premier League meetings.

Villa's early-season form has been far from reassuring, and they have picked up just nine points after seven games with two wins, two losses and three draws.

They have Donyell Malen to thank for their narrow win over Burnley, which came right before the international break. The Dutch striker's brace helped them get the better of the newly promoted Clarets. It marked Villa's fourth successive win across all competitions, and things might just be starting to fall in place for Emery's men.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa Head-to-Head and Key Numbers

None of the last 20 Premier League meetings between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have ended in a draw. Spurs have won 14 of those, while Villa have taken six. The last time they shared the spoils was a 1-1 draw back in May 2012.

Only two fixtures in Premier League history have seen longer streaks without a draw — Newcastle versus Spurs (twenty-one games between 1999 and 2010) and Chelsea versus Crystal Palace (twenty-six between 1997 and 2024).

Aston Villa have been victorious in four of their last six league clashes with Tottenham, equalling their total number of wins from the previous twenty-nine meetings combined.

Aston Villa have a strong record in games that follow international breaks, winning eight of their last ten and drawing the other two. One of those victories came away at Spurs in November 2023, when they won two-one. They did, however, draw 0-0 with Everton after the most recent international break in September.

After failing to win any of their first five league matches, Villa have bounced back with two straight victories. Since the start of March, only Manchester City have managed more league wins than Unai Emery’s men.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa Prediction

Could Frank finally get the better of Emery on Sunday? Spurs have looked promising since the start of the new season. But Villa's form has steadily improved over the last several weeks as well, and this fixture rarely ends in a stalemate. Spurs might just have enough wind in their sails to edge this one.

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur will look to return to winning ways when Bournemouth pay them a visit in the Premier League on Sunday. Spurs are currently on a two-game losing streak, suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 encounter.

Meanwhile, the Cherries beat Wolverhampton Wanderers on penalties to progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in their latest outing.

Heading into the knockout stage of the Champions League in midweek on the back of a 1-0 loss to Manchester City last weekend, Spurs found themselves trailing AZ because of a freakish own goal from Lucas Bergvall.

The back-to-back losses snapped the momentum that they had built up with successive victories against Manchester United and Ipswich Town.

Having picked up just a single win in their last nine Premier League home matches, Ange Postecoglou's men currently sit a lowly 13th in the table and will be desperate to return to the top half of the table.

Their Sunday opponents Bournemouth trail fourth-placed Manchester City by just four points and they will want to up the ante as they chase a European berth this term.

The Cherries have picked up six wins on the road this Premier League season and will fancy their chances against the Lilywhites who have struggled in front of their own fans.

But Bournemouth are in the middle of a poor run themselves, losing three of their last four league outings including suffering successive losses in their last two. They did manage to beat Spurs in the corresponding fixture in the first half of the ongoing campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Bournemouth Head-to-Head and Key Numbers

Bournemouth have lost six of their last seven Premier League away games against Totteham.

Bournemouth are looking for their first ever league double over Spurs after beating them 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium in December.

Spurs have suffered seven losses at home in the Premier League this term. It's their joint-most in a 38-game season in the English top flight.

The Cherries have been on the losing side in three of their last four Premier League matches. That's as many defeats as they had suffered in their previous 18.

Only Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium (56) has seen more goals scored in the Premier League this season than the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (52).

Tottenham Hotspur vs Bournemouth Prediction

Both Spurs and the Cherries are known for their high-pressing. Sunday's match could get a little cagey in the centre of the pitch but both teams are expected to be relatively cautious as a loss could be quite dispiriting for either side. They are likely to share the spoils at the end of a tight contest.

The UEFA Europa League features a set of knockout matches this week as AZ Alkmaar lock horns with Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham Hotspur side in an important encounter at the AFAS Stadion on Thursday. Both teams have good players in their ranks and will want to win this game.

AZ Alkmaar vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Tottenham Hotspur are currently in 13th place in the Premier League standings and have not been at their best so far this season. The away side slumped to a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City over the weekend and will need to work hard to bounce back in this fixture.

AZ Alkmaar, on the other hand, are in sixth place in the Eredivisie table at the moment and have been inconsistent over the past year. The hosts suffered a 3-1 defeat against Heerenveen in their previous game and have a point to prove this week.

AZ Alkmaar vs Tottenham Hotspur Head-to-Head and Key Numbers
