Barcelona accelerate stunning move for leading Bournemouth star wanted by Tottenham - TEAMtalk
Description

Bournemouth star Marcos Senesi has had his head turned by interest from Barcelona, TEAMtalk understands, despite Tottenham, Everton and several other Premier League sides also being keen on signing him.

The 28‑year‑old is out of contract at the end of the season and has already informed Bournemouth he will not be signing fresh terms at the Vitality Stadium – a decision we exclusively revealed in December.

Since arriving from Feyenoord in 2022, Senesi has been a standout performer on the south coast, and his impending free‑agent status has sparked a scramble for his signature.

A number of Premier League clubs have explored the possibility of keeping him in England.

Tottenham, Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Sunderland have all registered interest and spoken with his camp, while Chelsea also held discussions in recent months. However, those talks were described as purely exploratory, and the Blues have not advanced their position.

The strongest pressure, though, has come from Spain, despite Italian giants Juventus and Napoli also showing an interest.

Atletico Madrid have made their admiration known, but it is Barcelona who have moved most decisively.

‘When Barca are interested, it’s tough to ignore’

Sources have exclusively told us that Barcelona have accelerated negotiations in recent weeks, with a proposal being prepared that is already proving “the most intriguing” to the player’s camp.

A source close to the situation stated: “There is a lot of interest in Marcos, but when Barcelona are interested, that is tough to ignore. He has not ruled out anything as yet, but fair to say Barca is a huge lure.”

With Senesi available on a free and Barcelona reshaping their defensive options, the stars are aligning for what could become one of the standout Bosman deals of the summer.

For Bournemouth, the Argentine’s decision to depart comes as a major blow. They lost key centre-backs Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi last summer, and now they’re set to suffer the same fate with Senesi.

Senesi has started every Premier League game he’s been available for this season, helping his side to keep five clean sheets in 25 league appearances and also providing four assists.

But the defender is now ready to take on a new challenge, and Barcelona are the side leading the charge for his signature.

Latest Barcelona news: Marcus Rashford update / Nico Williams battle

Meanwhile, Manchester United have told Barcelona they aren’t willing to consider a different price for Marcus Rashford to complete a permanent move after his loan in LaLiga, according to multiple reports.

Barcelona have an option to buy the 28-year-old for a fee in the region of £26m. They have been considering trying to negotiate a lower fee, but the Red Devils have made clear this is not an option.

In other news, we have revealed how Barcelona remain interested in Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, but they will face serious competition from Arsenal for his signature.

The 23‑year‑old’s decision to sign a 10‑year deal at the San Mames has not ended the transfer talk, because it carries a release clause understood to be in the region of €100million (£87m / $119m).

Aston Villa ready to rival Liverpool for signing of supremely talented Tottenham star - TEAMtalk
Description

Aston Villa are continuing to keep a close eye on Lucas Bergvall’s situation and could test Tottenham’s resolve if an opportunity presents itself in the summer, but Liverpool are also poised to join the race.

Spurs have endured a deeply disappointing campaign, prompting the appointment of Igor Tudor in a bid to steady the ship after Thomas Frank’s tenure unravelled and dragged the club towards the relegation zone.

Villa are long-term admirers of Bergvall and TEAMtalk understands they have tracked his progress closely for some time. They made enquiries about a deal in January after missing out on Conor Gallagher, but were ultimately unable to prise him away from Tottenham.

Bergvall, 20, is regarded internally at Spurs as one of their most exciting long-term assets, and the club’s stance has so far been clear in that he is not for sale.

However, much could yet hinge on how Tottenham finish the season and what direction they choose with their next permanent manager. Any continued instability on or off the pitch may encourage rival clubs to explore whether the situation is entirely as firm as it appears.

Villa believe that the promise of European football and a clear upward trajectory could give them a persuasive edge.

While prising Bergvall away would be very difficult, the Midlands club hope that presenting a compelling sporting project could create intrigue – if Spurs are still struggling.

Liverpool keen on Spurs starlet

Liverpool are also understood to have registered an interest in Bergvall’s situation, with the Anfield hierarchy continuing to monitor emerging midfield talent across Europe.

Their presence in the background could yet complicate matters for Villa should Tottenham’s stance soften at any stage.

Tottenham view Bergvall as one of the top talents in the European game and would set a fee designed to deter suitors.

Yet after a turbulent period of inconsistent form they face new, growing financial scrutiny, and there is a sense that no situation can be considered completely immune if the right offer arrives.

Bergvall, a six-time capped Swedish international, has made 16 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham this season, notching one goal and four assists in the process.

He hasn’t played since mid-January due to an ankle injury, which required surgery, and the expectation is that he’ll be out for another six weeks.

But those ailments haven’t put off the likes of Villa and Liverpool, who view him as a supremely exciting youngster well worth pursuing.

Latest Tottenham news: Eddie Howe shortlisted / Ivan Toney hint

Meanwhile, my colleague, TEAMtalk insider, Graeme Bailey, has exclusively revealed that Tottenham’s board have discussed making Newcastle boss Eddie Howe their new manager next season.

Tudor isn’t expected to stay beyond this term, and Howe figures highly on the shortlist, though the search is still in its early stages.

In other news, Ivan Toney has not ruled out returning to the Premier League from Saudi club Al-Ahli, while he’s also shared his thoughts on his England chances ahead of the World Cup.

Spurs showed interest in Toney in January, and even with his former manager Frank now sacked by the London side, he could come under consideration again.

Tottenham gifted sublime chance to sign Ivan Toney as huge hint dropped on Prem return - TEAMtalk
Description

Ivan Toney has made an intriguing admission when quizzed about a potential return to the Premier League, and we can confirm that Tottenham Hotspur are among the sides to have considered a move for him.

Toney, 29, sealed a shock £40million move from Brentford to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli in August 2024, joining on a contract that runs until the summer of 2028.

The seven-time capped England star has notched an impressive 58 goals and 15 assists in 76 appearances since joining the Saudi side, proving his quality once again, albeit in a division of lower standard.

Speculation was rife in January that Toney could return to the Premier League. TEAMtalk transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, revealed that Tottenham considered a move for the forward and that his former manager at Brentford, Thomas Frank, was open to a reunion in London.

The move was ultimately deemed unviable, however, and Toney remained in Saudi, where he has continued to perform well.

But Tottenham are likely to be in the market for a new striker this summer, with Randal Kolo Muani looking destined to leave the club, so Toney could come under consideration again.

And now, in an interview with Sky Sports News, Toney is asked about returning to English football.

“Never say never,” Toney said. “I have goals I want to achieve here first, the club have signed me for a long period of time.

“I want to repay them and bring trophies. In football and life, you never know what’s around the corner. Who knows what the next step is?

“I’m comfortable here and like being here. I’m doing well, my numbers speak for themselves and I’m settled. I’m enjoying my football and don’t see why I’d leave to go back to where I was.”

Ivan Toney sends message to Thomas Tuchel

Toney has also given his thoughts on his England chances ahead of the World Cup this summer. His only appearance under Thomas Tuchel was a two-minute cameo against Senegal in June 2025, and hasn’t been called up in the three camps since.

However, the ex-Brentford man still hopes he can force his way back into the England squad.

“It would mean a lot [to go to the World Cup],” Toney said. “I have never played at a World Cup. It would be a dream; everyone dreams of that.

“If we were to win it, that would be so big for the country. You have visions of what could happen. If it comes true, it would be a blessing.

“Maybe [I could bring an advantage due to the heat]. There are great players in the squad and some top English strikers, so I guess everyone will have an opportunity, as everyone will be able to adapt to the heat, but you can say I’m a bit more used to it than others. It’s tough because you have to change your game slightly.

“You can’t be running around crazy because otherwise you run out of steam. You have to be more strategic with the runs you make.

“I guess I won’t have to adapt. I’ve played in 30-plus degrees here, and I feel like I’m adapted to it.

“All I can do is keep scoring goals. That gives me the best chance possible,” Toney added.

“It could be my last chance. It’s [about] whatever is best for the country; the coach will pick the team and you have to respect that.

“I feel much fitter and the stats speak for themselves. My running stats are also high.

“I don’t want to just sit back and relax; I am working harder and my stats show it. I am helping those around me. He would be getting a goalscorer who is hungry to play.

“Yes, I’m on a big salary, but I still want to be doing well, it’s not the time to be sitting back to relax. I want to try and achieve big things.”

Latest Tottenham news: Eddie Howe targeted / Arsenal transfer battle

Meanwhile, TEAMtalk insider, Graeme Bailey, has exclusively revealed that Tottenham’s board have discussed making Newcastle boss Eddie Howe their new manager next season.

Igor Tudor has been brought in as an interim following Thomas Frank’s sacking but he isn’t expected to stay beyond this term, and Howe figures highly on the shortlist.

In other news, reports suggest that Arsenal ‘have the edge’ over Spurs in the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.

Both of the London rivals are interested in the 31-year-old, who is set to be available on a free transfer this summer, if he doesn’t pen a contract extension.

Tottenham warned over Pochettino saying YES to return as Igor Tudor delivers eye-opening promise to fans - TEAMtalk
Description

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Bobby Zamora has provided one significant reason why Mauricio Pochettino may be hesitant to commit to a return to north London straightaway, while Igor Tudor has delivered a promise to fans in his first interview as interim boss.

Tudor will take charge of Spurs until the end of the season with the brief of pushing them up the table and seeing how much further he can improve on an already impressive Champions League run.

And while our sources can reveal that Tottenham have added Newcastle boss Eddie Howe to their list of potential managerial targets for the summer, the name on the lips of most fans of the club is former boss Pochettino.

Indeed, it’s already been claimed that Spurs have made repeated contact with the Argentine over a return to N17, as Pochettino currently gears up for this summer’s World Cup with co-hosts hosts USA.

But Zamora feels that the US national federation are likely to be concerned that the 53-year-old will have one eye on a return to north London, if he agrees to what will be an emotional return, and not on the immediate matter at hand.

When asked about Pochettino potentially returning to Spurs, Zamora told Goal.com: “He can’t start until after the World Cup. If you are his nation, you are saying ‘I don’t want you taking your eye off the ball’ – I know you’re not full-time, every single day in the office, but I would be saying I don’t want you taking your eye off the ball.

“Although he’s the fans’ favourite and they want him there, it’s going to be a tricky one. I think the likes of Poch would want time, a good pre-season. Whoever goes in there, they will want a whole pre-season. It’s hard because of the World Cup.

“All of these players aren’t going to get back until the end of July, if a few of the boys get quite far. They will want a break, they will want two weeks off at least. It’s a tricky job for anyone.

“Poch obviously had a great time there. It didn’t end in the greatest way, but I can understand why the fans want him back.”

Tudor promising front-foot football at Tottenham

Meanwhile, in setting out his philosophy at his new club, Tudor has promised attacking football at Tottenham in a move that is light years away from Thomas Frank’s much more conservative approach.

Speaking in his first interview with the club, Tudor said: “I like to play offensive football. That’s my first goal. I like to score goals, but in the same way, for sure, you need to give organisation in defence.

“I believe in style — style is more important than the system, of course. Sunday and the game is a consequence of the training. So, that needs to be focused.

“I believe that in football, in 2026, it’s changed a lot… If you can run 115 kilometres as a team, it’s better than 105… but that without quality you can do nothing.

“Offensive football, yes, but smart. So, that’s the key.”

Tudor also admits that he fully recognises the perilous position Tottenham find themselves in, sitting just five points above the relegation with 12 games remaining.

He added: “The position of the club in this moment is one that nobody can accept. Every Tottenham fan cannot accept the situation. We are aware of that. But it’s not enough to just be aware of that.

“The situation is not easy because we have a lot of injured players, so we need first to find the best system to suit the players that are available in this moment. Maybe this can sound strange, but I believe that the thing that we need to be focused on is the training. So the training from today, that’s the key.

“The coach needs to show the path, where is the way we want to go, how we want to go, and the players need to accept this.”

Description

Tottenham Hotspur could be set for disappointment in their quest to bring Leon Goretzka to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer of 2026, with a second source claiming that Arsenal are in a better position to convince the Bayern Munich midfielder to switch to the Emirates Stadium.

The battle between Arsenal and Tottenham for the signature of Goretzka started in late December, when TEAMtalk’s transfer insider, Dean Jones, reported that Goretzka had been offered to Spurs.

We reported at the time that Goretzka was ‘keen to explore a move to the Premier League’, with the Germany international midfielder out of contract at Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Arsenal subsequently joined the race for the 31-year-old midfielder, with the Gunners making enquiries to sign him on the final day of the winter transfer window following the injury to Mikel Merino, as reported by our transfer insider, Graeme Bailey.

Goretzka is still at Bayern, but that has not stopped Arsenal and Tottenham from continuing to show keen interest in snapping him up on a free transfer in the summer of 2026.

On February 8, 2026, Graeme Bailey reported that Arsenal are the ‘frontrunners’ to sign Goretzka, revealing that the representatives of the Bayern midfielder have held talks with the Gunners as well as with several other Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Football Insider has now revealed that Arsenal are leading Tottenham in the race for Goretzka.

The report, written by transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke, has claimed that Arsenal ‘currently hold the edge over Tottenham’ in the race for Goretzka, who has been described as an ‘all-action pressing machine’ in Breaking The Lines.

Arsenal’s ‘likely ability to offer Champions League football’ means that Mikel Arteta’s side are ahead of Spurs, who sacked Thomas Frank as their manager this month and appointed Igor Tudor in his place until the end of the season.

While Arsenal could win the Premier League and the Champions League this season, Spurs could get relegated to the Championship, given that they are only five points above the bottom three.

Next Tottenham manager: Eddie Howe 'discussed' by Spurs board as ambitious post

EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham plotting shock move for proven Prem manager as post-Tudor plan takes shape - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have quietly added Eddie Howe to their list of potential managerial targets, TEAMtalk understands, with senior figures in North London increasingly intrigued by the Newcastle United boss’ body of work and long-term Premier League pedigree.

Sources have told us that Howe’s name has been “raised and discussed” at board level as Spurs begin mapping out their summer strategy to replace Thomas Frank on a permanent basis, with Igor Tudor only ever viewed as a short-term stabiliser.

Howe’s reputation inside the game, which was built on his time at Bournemouth, has only strengthened across his four-and-a-half years at St James’ Park.

When he arrived, Newcastle were staring down the barrel of relegation; within two seasons, he had them back among the Champions League elite, and by 2025 he delivered the club’s first major trophy of the century with their League Cup triumph.

Behind the scenes, Howe is credited with transforming the squad’s technical level and mentality. Bruno Guimaraes, Sven Botman and Alexander Isak have all developed into world-class operators under his guidance, while English talents Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon have blossomed into major figures for England under Thomas Tuchel, another testament to the work done with Howe.

Despite a challenging campaign this season, Howe retains unwavering backing from Newcastle’s hierarchy and remains hugely popular with supporters. But that hasn’t stopped rival clubs from circling.

We revealed previously that Howe is admired at Manchester United, and they are expected to consider him among several candidates this summer. Now, we can confirm that Tottenham have entered the conversation…

Tottenham shortlist Eddie Howe as manager hunt takes shape

While Tottenham are still in the early stages of their managerial search, insiders suggest Howe is viewed as a coach who fits the club’s long-term vision: progressive football, player development, and a proven ability to build a project under pressure.

Whether that interest evolves into a concrete move remains to be seen. Spurs are expected to cast a wide net, and Howe – under contract and content on Tyneside – would not be an easy or inexpensive appointment.

For now, Howe remains fully focused on Newcastle, and the club have given no indication they would entertain an approach.

But as Tottenham refine their shortlist, his name is firmly on the radar, and sources suggest the admiration is genuine.

Latest Tottenham news: Igor Tudor axes THREE / Morgan Rogers claim

Meanwhile, Tudor has wasted no time in forming his backroom team for what remains of this season and has decided to axe Justin Cochrane, John Heitinga and Chris Haslam, and analyst Joe Newton from the club’s staff.

The former Juventus boss has decided to bring in Ivan Javorcic as his assistant coach, Riccardo Raganacci as physical coach and Tomislav Rogic as the goalkeeping coach for the coming months.

In other news, reports suggest that Tottenham’s hierarchy have identified Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers as a ‘dream’ target for the summer.

However, Spurs will face serious competition for the England international, and Villa certainly won’t let him go easily, either.

Jose Mourinho responds to spectacular Real Madrid return rumours as Tottenham edge closer to signing Bernabeu star

Jose Mourinho responds to spectacular Real Madrid return rumours as Tottenham edge closer to signing Bernabeu star - TEAMtalk
Description

Jose Mourinho has responded to reports of a spectacular return to the Real Madrid hotseat, while a top Bernabeu could be closing in on a return to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur.

Real head to Portugal on Tuesday evening to take on Mourinho’s Benfica side in the first leg of their Champions League play-off, with a place in the last 16 of the competition up for grabs.

And, ahead of the contest, the former Real Madrid coach had plenty to say about the links and his previous time at the club.

Mourinho on Real Madrid return

The current Benfica boss guided Madrid to a LaLiga title, Copa del Rey and Spanish Supercup triumph during his time at the Bernabeu and takes a lot of pride in his time in Madrid.

“I gave everything to Real Madrid,” Mourinho said. “Everything that I had. I’ve done good and bad things but I gave my all and that’s it. When a professional leaves a club with that feeling there ends up being a life-time connection.

“I left 12 years ago and I’ve always had the feeling and the affection is there.”

Mourinho has, however, once again denied speculation of a potential return to the club as coach, despite forward Vinícius Júnior praising him ahead of Tuesday night’s clash in Lisbon, claiming that the self-titled ‘Special One’ “changed the club’s history a little” during his three seasons in charge.

“I don’t want to feed stories that don’t exist,” Mourinho said on Monday. “The only thing that exists is that I have one year left on my contract with Benfica. It’s a special contract as it was signed during [the club’s] presidential election process.

“It has a clause that can easily be broken by me or Benfica. There’s zero with Real Madrid.

“I would love to eliminate Real Madrid, but I would love for Alvaro [Arbeloa] to win LaLiga and to remain at Madrid for many years.

“He is very capable, has a lot of Madridista in him and has the personality to coach Real Madrid, which is not for everyone.”

Pretty conclusive stuff from Mourinho then, in terms of shutting the door to a Real return, as Real continue to weigh up their long-term options for the summer.

Tottenham edging closer to Real Madrid star

A move to Tottenham Hotspur for Real Madrid centre-back Antonio Rudiger is reportedly ‘gathering momentum’, as the veteran defender prepares for a free transfer exit.

As per a report from Caught Offside, Spurs are firmly in the mix for the former Chelsea star, who will be out of contract come the end of the season.

The links follow information from our insider, Graeme Bailey, who revealed that intermediaries have been in contact with Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace over a return to London specifically for the 32-year-old.

Those are also the three sides named in the fresh report, which states each club has initiated talks over a move for the German, who is ready to accept a drop in salary to seal a Premier League return this summer.

He’s currently said to earn €280,000 (£243,300) per week, with Spurs comfortably ahead of their rivals in terms of being able to afford a figure anywhere close to that. Indeed, it would take Rudiger dropping his wage by a significant amount to bring the Hammers and Palace into play.

However, we are also aware that Saudi Arabian clubs are circling for Rudiger, and they’d be able to pay more than any Premier League side, but his ambition to return to England could scupper any potential move there.

Real Madrid tease outrageous swap deal

Real Madrid have reportedly made contact with Liverpool to propose an outrageous swap deal involving Eduardo Camavinga and Dominik Szoboszlai, as TEAMtalk reveals whether the club’s owners, FSG, could agree to such a deal.

Having already signed Trent Alexander-Arnold from the Reds, Real also remain keen on Alexis Mac Allister and are now said to be monitoring playmaker Szoboszlai as well.

Hungary national team boss Marco Rossi lit the fire on that speculation when he revealed over the weekend that Szoboszlai dreams of playing for Real Madrid.

And now slightly dubious Spanish outlet E-Noticies claims that Madrid are actively trying to convince Liverpool to sell them the 25-year-old midfielder, offering the injury-plagued Camavinga and €30million (£26m, $35.6m) for the Reds star.

However, our transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, reported on February 7, that Liverpool are determined to hold of Szoboszlai and are ready to accept his demands for a new contract.

That appears to leave Real’s hopes of a major summer deal in tatters and Camavinga likely staying put, for now.

Trusted German source reveals spectacular Chelsea, Tottenham transfer tussle for ‘available’ Bayern star

Trusted German source reveals spectacular Chelsea, Tottenham transfer tussle for 'available' Bayern star - TEAMtalk
Description

Chelsea are reportedly ready to go head-to-head with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for a Bayern Munich centre-back this summer, according to a trusted German source.

Both Premier League rivals are expected to be on the hunt for central defensive options this summer, with Chelsea missing out to Liverpool in the race to sign Jeremy Jacquet in the winter window, while Spurs have serious doubts over the futures of first-choice pairing Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Taking all that into account, it’s being reported that both clubs are weighing up bids for Bayern star Kim Min-jae, who could well be available come the end of the season.

Kim has made 102 appearances in all competitions for the Bavarian outfit since moving to Germany from Napoli for €50million (£43.5m) in 2023 – a fee that made him the most expensive Asian footballer in history at the time.

During his time with Bayern, the experienced 29-year-old has proven to be an invaluable first-team starter, helping Vincent Kompany’s side win both the Bundesliga title and German Super Cup last term.

However, Kim has suffered from being behind first-choice central defensive pairing Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah this season, while injury problems have also not helped his cause.

Indeed, the South Korea international has made a total of just 10 starts in the Bundesliga this term. And now Bild reporter and Bayern insider Christian Falk, claims Chelsea and Tottenham have been closely monitoring Kim’s situation and a transfer tug-of-war could break out between the two bitter rivals.

He claims both London clubs have placed the experienced defender on their shortlist of possible targets’ and that Blues view Kim as a strong option after losing their battle for Jacquet to Liverpool.

As for Tottenham, they are also in need of reinforcements at the back, although their current managerial situation makes things tricky, in terms of identifying and then looking to attract new additions – although they are also in the mix to sign Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer from Real Madrid.

Bayern ready to consider Kim sale

The Bild report adds that Bayern ‘could be open to selling’ Kim should they receive a ‘handsome’ fee for his services this summer, despite the player currently being ‘happy’ with his role at the club.

Kim, whose current contract with Bayern runs through to June 2028, was actually left out of Bayern’s squad that went on to crush Hoffenheim at the Allianz Arena earlier this month.

And, speaking after his side’s comfortable victory, Kompany confirmed that the South Korean’s absence had nothing to do with fitness issues and was all pre-planned.

“There will be a rotation when everyone’s fit,” the Bayern coach told reporters when asked to clarify the reason for Kim not being in the squad.

“It’s not that someone did something wrong. We need healthy competition.”

Kompany also stressed that Kim remains central to his plans going forward, although his status as a backup almost certainly means that should a significant offer come in this summer then Bayern will surely consider it.

Igor Tudor brutally axes Tottenham trio in show of authority as three new faces arrive - TEAMtalk
Description

Igor Tudor has brutally axed the three Tottenham Hotspur coaches who have been holding the fort following the sacking of Thomas Frank, with three of his own men poised to arrive this week.

The north London outfit parted company with Frank after a run of just two wins in 17 Premier League outings, results which were in complete contrast to their excellent Champions League form.

However, with Tottenham now firmly in the relegation mix, former Juventus coach Tudor has been brought in until the end of the season to shake things up and try and steer the club up the table.

The Croatian certainly has the experience of galvanising struggling sides mid-season, and now the 47-year-old is close to getting his own staff on board to help him.

Indeed, Tottenham expert Alasdair Gold has revealed that the former Juve chief will be accompanied by three members of the staff he has worked with at the Allianz Stadium.

Subject to international clearance, Ivan Javorcic will join as Tottenham’s assistant coach, Riccardo Raganacci as the physical coach and Tomislav Rogic as the goalkeeping coach until the end of the season.

Gold adds that Justin Cochrane, John Heitinga and Chris Haslam, who were all part of Frank’s staff, will leave Hotspur Way, as will analyst Joe Newton.

The journalist wrote on X: “Igor Tudor’s coaching staff will include, subject to work permits, Ivan Javorcic as assistant coach, Riccardo Ragnacci as physical coach and Tomislav Rogic as goalkeeping coach. Leaving Spurs are Justin Cochrane, John Heitinga and Chris Haslam, along with analyst Joe Newton.”

The exit of Heitinga in particular is a pretty embarrassing episode for Tottenham, given that he only arrived just over a month ago to help Frank, with the former Ajax coach deemed a bit of a coup for the club at the time.

Tudor will now be hoping his staff can have an immediate impact on an injury-stricken squad, who will face bitter rivals Arsenal in his first game in charge on Saturday.

Tudor has nothing to gain from Tottenham stint

Meanwhile, Tim Sherwood claims that it is a lose-lose situation for Tudor at Spurs, with the Croatian highly unlikely to be given the job even if he excels in north London.

Sherwood himself took over Tottenham on a permanent basis in 2013, signing an 18-month contract and replacing Andre Villas-Boas. However, he ended up taking charge of just 26 games before eventually being sacked.

And speaking about Tudor on Sky Sports on Monday, Sherwood said: “The upside is for him, very little upside. Upside is managing a wonderful football club in Tottenham Hotspur, and I think he’s come out and said he’s proud to get the opportunity to do that, as every other manager would.

“But he needs to win the Champions League and win every game in the Premier League, or 90 per cent of the games in the Premier League for him to have any chance of taking that job on the long-term.”

Liverpool 'hold talks' over stunning Morgan Rogers move to kill Tottenham's transfer 'dream' - TEAMtalk
Description

Liverpool have reportedly held initial talks over a move for Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers, who is Tottenham’s ‘dream target’ for the summer, while Chelsea are also admirers.

The 23-year-old England international is one of Villa’s star players and a key reason why they sit third in the Premier League table.

Rogers has notched eight goals and five assists in 26 league appearances this season, and looks set to play a key role for the Three Lions at the World Cup this year.

But his dazzling form hasn’t gone unnoticed, and according to a report cited by Caught Offside, Liverpool have stunningly joined the hunt for his signature.

“Liverpool have held talks with Morgan Rogers’ representatives, and the door wasn’t shut on them. The player is open to all proposals in the summer,” the report notes, per a claim from a supposed ‘insider’.

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano reported previously how Tottenham view Rogers as a ‘dream’ target for this summer, though convincing him to join will be difficult if they can’t offer Champions League football.

Meanwhile, TEAMtalk transfer insider, Fraser Fletcher, revealed earlier this month that Rogers remains on Chelsea’s shortlist, though they’d have to pay north of £80million to sign him. Indeed, his fee could even end up hitting the £100m mark. Manchester United and Manchester City are also keen, so the Villa star will have no shortage of options should he pursue a transfer.

Liverpool eyeing Rogers amid worrying exit rumours

Rogers is contracted with Villa until 2031, which puts them in a very strong negotiating position.

It’s therefore feasible it could take far more than £80million to force them to consider a sale, especially if they do qualify for the Champions League again.

But the links with Liverpool are interesting timing, given the speculation surrounding Reds attacking midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai at the moment.

Szoboszlai’s manager for the Hungary national team, Marco Rossi, recently said that the 25-year-old views a potential move to Real Madrid as a ‘dream’ opportunity – and the Spanish giants are believed to be interested.

As previously reported, Liverpool have made tying Szoboszlai down to a new contract one of their top priorities, but so far no agreement has been reached.

Szoboszlai’s deal expires in 2028, and Liverpool could be forced to consider a big offer if one arrives in the summer, if no extension is signed.

Rogers has the potential to be an exciting replacement for Szoboszlai and with interest ramping up, he’s a player to keep a close eye on over the coming months.

Latest Liverpool news: Big Diomande update / Olise blow

Meanwhile, we have revealed today that Liverpool are the Premier League club with the ‘most advanced’ interest in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, who is valued at €100million (£87m / $119m).

Bayern Munich could rival the Reds for his signature, while Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle have also been scouting him.

Diomande figures highly on Liverpool’s Mo Salah replacement shortlist, amid uncertainty surrounding the Egyptian, but he isn’t their top target.

Their top pick is Bayern winger Michael Olise. However, sources indicate that the German giants WILL NOT entertain a summer sale of the ex-Crystal Palace man, meaning Liverpool are forced to focus their efforts elsewhere.
