Inter Milan told to raid Tottenham for ‘front row’ star who’s not missed a minute this season - TEAMtalk
Description

Former goalkeeper Walter Zenga has told Inter Milan that a Tottenham star who’s yet to miss a minute for them this season should be “front row” in their summer recruitment drive.

Spurs are facing similar struggles this season to what they did last season. After a 17th-placed Premier League finish, they’re 16th in the league this term.

Potentially relegation to the Championship is a catastrophic worry, but missing out on European football could be almost as devastating, as it could lead to the exits of some big names.

A lot of Tottenham stars won’t want to play for a side consistently battling at the bottom end of the table – when they should be doing far better – and not have the opportunity to play in Europe.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is one of the players who could take refuge elsewhere, with former Italian goalkeeper Zenga telling Inter Milan to go after him.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: “With an Italian goalkeeper: Vicario and Marco Carnesecchi in the front row, then Elia Caprile.”

He also urged that Yann Sommer still has time left at the club, though, stating: “First of all, a premise: if we focus on a goalkeeper’s mistakes, we’ll never get over them. Yann is a high-performance player, a guarantee. He has experience and quality to spare. Self-control. Nothing can affect him.”

Vicario could leave Tottenham

There were reports prior to the January window that Inter were preparing an offer for Tottenham keeper Vicario.

Amid his return to Italy coming into the spotlight, TEAMtalk learned that Spurs were open to the prospect of replacing their goalkeeper.

That could be ideal, as it’s felt he’s one of a number of players who will choose to leave if there’s no European football on offer next season.

Former Spurs scout Bryan King said: “I can see [Cristian] Romero, [Micky] van de Ven, [Guglielmo] Vicario then one of Dominic Solanke or Richarlison wanting to leave.”

Tottenham round-up: Centre-back moves coming

It’s reported that the return to England for former Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger is ‘gaining momentum’ after Tottenham held talks for him.

Fellow centre-back Lloyd Kelly is on the radar, and valued at £43.5million by Juventus – more than double what they paid for him from Newcastle a year ago.

Meanwhile, Spurs are still said to be in the mix for Morgan Gibbs-White, as might Manchester City be.

Pete O’Rourke said: “There’s obviously talk that Tottenham could rekindle their interest, Manchester City have been long-term admirers of the player as well.”

Tottenham news: Spurs hunting former Newcastle star with value 'more than double' from last year

Tottenham want former Newcastle defender whose value has 'more than doubled' in a year - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham are among the clubs on the hunt for a new defender, and a former Newcastle man is in sight, after his value has ‘more than doubled’ in the last year.

Spurs are in trouble in potentially multiple ways. That they are 16th in the Premier League – following a 17th-placed finish last season – suggests they could genuinely be relegated.

That would surely see some of their best players leave, and that could happen if they don’t secure European football – which looks a very unlikely task given they’d essentially have to win the Champions League for that.

Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero will be two of the first out the door, with huge clubs tracking them and reports suggesting their eyes are wandering.

As a result, Tottenham are going to have to reinforce their defence, and journalist Mirko Di Natale reports they are one of the Premier League ‘big guns’ who will be looking for a new defender: Lloyd Kelly is in sight.

He states the spotlight could turn on the Juventus defender, previously of Newcastle, with Liverpool and Chelsea also on the hunt for a new centre-back.

Di Natale states Kelly’s valuation tops out at €50million (£43.5m), ‘more than double what it was a year ago.’

Tottenham WILL lose a centre-back

It looks almost certain that Romero will be on his way out the door at Tottenham in the summer.

TEAMtalk has learned that he wants to make a move, with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in the mix for him.

But Spurs will be asking for £70-80million if they are to lose the Argentine during the summer.

Whether any of the interested sides will be willing to pay that remains to be seen, but Romero’s view is that a move away from Tottenham is best.

Tottenham round-up: Exodus expected

Former Spurs scout Bryan King feels there’ll be far more stars than just Romero looking to leave if there’s no European football on offer next season.

He said: “I can see [Cristian] Romero, [Micky] van de Ven, [Guglielmo] Vicario then one of Dominic Solanke or Richarlison wanting to leave.”

A defender could be inbound, as a return to England for Antonio Rudiger is reportedly ‘gaining momentum,’ and Tottenham are one of the sides who have begun talks for him.

And, Tottenham are facing competition from both Manchester United and Leeds for Championship midfield target Hayden Hackney.

Tottenham: Ambitious Real Madrid raid 'gathering momentum' with top source backed up

Ambitious Tottenham move for Real Madrid star ‘gathering momentum’ with top source backed up - TEAMtalk
Description

A return to the Premier League for Real Madrid centre-back Antonio Rudiger, where Tottenham are one of the main suitors, is said to be ‘gathering momentum.’

Spurs are in a very tough spot, 16th in the Premier League after coming 17th last term. The promising first few games under Thomas Frank were quickly reversed, and he was sacked after the club plummeted down the table.

There’s a genuine risk of the drop, with Tottenham only five points ahead of West Ham, in the final relegation space.

As such, potential recruitment in the summer could be a tough task, but the return to the Premier League of Rudiger – who left Chelsea for Real Madrid in 2022 – is ‘gathering momentum’ per Caught Offside, with Spurs one of the clubs in the mix.

It follows information from TEAMtalk insider Graeme Bailey that intermediaries have been in contact with Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace over a return to London specifically.

Those are the three sides named in the fresh report, which states each club has initiated talks over a move for Rudiger, who’ll be available for nothing in the summer.

It is also stated that continental suitors are positioning themselves in the race to sign the Real Madrid man.

Rudiger ready for wage drop

TEAMtalk insider Bailey has learned that Rudiger would accept a drop in wages if it meant he was able to secure a return to England.

He’s currently said to earn €280,000 (£243,300) per week.

Spurs would surely be the most likely to be able to pay towards the defender’s current wage, but a significant drop would bring the other sides into play.

We are also aware that Saudi Arabian clubs are circling for Rudiger, and they’d be able to pay more than any Premier League side, but his ambition to return to England could scupper any potential move there.

Tottenham managing to land Rudiger would be a saving grace, as we are aware the Argentine wants to leave the north London club amid interest from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

Tottenham round-up: Exodus expected

With Spurs unlikely to secure European football next season unless they complete the improbable task of winning the Champions League, their former scout Bryan King believes an exodus of top players is likely.

He said: “I can see [Cristian] Romero, [Micky] van de Ven, [Guglielmo] Vicario then one of Dominic Solanke or Richarlison wanting to leave.”

Elsewhere, Tottenham have competition for a couple of signings, with Manchester United hoping to sign Christian Pulisic, who is on the Spurs radar.

United are also in the mix for Spurs target Hayden Hackney, along with Leeds United.

Tottenham: Spurs in grave danger of £168m exodus as club source fears top stars will leave

Tottenham source fears for £168m exodus with club's biggest stars to turn their backs - TEAMtalk
Description

A former Tottenham scout has warned that as many as four players could look to the exit if an unlikely scenario does not come to fruition at the club by the end of the season.

Spurs ended up 17th in the Premier League last season and are staring down the barrel of another woeful finish this term. Currently 16th in the table, the north London club are only nine points above the drop zone.

Some feel there is genuine danger that Tottenham could drop down to the Championship for the first time in its current guise.

There feels to be very little chance of securing European football, with 12 games to make up a gap currently at more than 10 points, which is likely to rise.

With that, former Spurs scout Bryan King feels there’s a danger that the club will lose some of its biggest stars, such as Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario and Dominic Solanke/Richarlison, which cost a total of £168million.

He told Tottenham News: “If they don’t win the Champions League, they aren’t going to be in Europe next year.

“I can see [Cristian] Romero, [Micky] van de Ven, [Guglielmo] Vicario then one of Dominic Solanke or Richarlison wanting to leave.

“The Madrid clubs are there, Atletico want Romero, and Real want van de Ven. If you lose those two, it brings in big money, but they’ve got to be replaced.”

Spurs want to make good money

Solanke was the most expensive of those players when signed, but if any are to leave, Spurs will want to be fairly compensated.

TEAMtalk is aware that Romero does in fact want to leave, and if he does, a record fee is desired.

Indeed, we have learned of interest from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in the centre-back, who makes up part of Tottenham’s best defensive duo.

Sources have told us it will take £70-80million to prise the Argentine away from north London.

Whether the aforementioned sides will go that far remains to be seen, as Barca, in particular, have had financial troubles making it difficult to fund big signings in recent seasons.

Tottenham round-up: Only one way Tudor gets permanent job

Tottenham recently hired Igor Tudor after the sacking of Thomas Frank as manager, and former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood expects there’s only one way that he’ll be kept on permanently after this season.

“The only way he gets the job on a permanent basis, if he does well, there’s an opportunity for him to take it long term, what does doing well actually look like?” he said.

“Is it [Roberto] Di Matteo at Chelsea, winning the Champions League? Winning every single game? Chelsea had a lot better players than Tottenham did to win the Champions League.”

Elsewhere, Manchester United are said to be ‘serious’ about signing Christian Pulisic, who also features on the Tottenham radar.

Spurs also have competition for the signing of Hayden Hackney, with United and Leeds in the mix for the Championship midfielder.

Leeds plotting stunning move for £30m-rated Championship star wanted by Tottenham, Man Utd - TEAMtalk
Description

Leeds United have joined Tottenham and Manchester United in the race to sign one of the Championship’s best midfielders, though the move could face obstacles if his side secures promotion to the Premier League.

The Whites secured qualification to the FA Cup fifth round earlier today by beating Birmingham City on penalties at St Andrews, adding to the optimism at Elland Road as they fight for Premier League survival.

Daniel Farke’s side have picked up some huge results in recent weeks and sit six points clear of the relegation zone. They are looking at potential transfer targets for the summer, and Middlesbrough star Hayden Hackney figures highly on their shortlist.

The interest has been reported by journalist Alan Nixon, who states Leeds ‘want to hire’ Hackney for next season.

The 23-year-old, who generally plays as a defensive midfielder, has notched an impressive four goals and six assists in 31 Championship appearances this season.

Hackney, who captains Boro, is a key reason why his team currently sit top of the Championship table, on track for automatic promotion. But Coventry City and Ipswich aren’t far behind, so a return to the top-flight for Boro is far from guaranteed yet.

Hackney’s Boro contract runs until 2027, so next summer could be the club’s last chance to recoup a big fee for his services. Saying that, if they become a Premier League club, they would stand a better chance of tying him down to an extension. Nevertheless, Leeds, Tottenham, Man Utd and Everton could launch a move for him this summer.

Man Utd, Spurs interested in £30m Championship star

TEAMtalk transfer insider, Dean Jones, exclusively revealed on January 15 that Tottenham and Man Utd hold genuine interest in Hackney.

Spurs considered a move for Hackney over the summer, but were ultimately unable to bring him to London as Boro weren’t willing to part ways with him amid their promotion push.

Man Utd are also admirers, with interim manager Michael Carrick keen on a reunion with the player who thrived when he was manager of Boro.

A summer move from the Red Devils could depend on whether Carrick remains boss. He has done incredibly well since replacing Ruben Amorim, but his long-term future at Old Trafford is still in the balance.

Everton could also be in the mix for Hackney. TEAMtalk transfer correspondent, Graeme Bailey, revealed the Toffees’ interest in December, and with Idrissa Gana Gueye past his prime at the age of 36, he could be signed as a replacement for him.

In any case, our have sources indicated that it would take at least £30million to sign Hackney.

Whether Leeds, Tottenham, Man Utd or Everton are willing to match that price tag remains to be seen, but if his potential is anything to go by, it could prove to be a bargain in the future.

Man Utd ‘serious’ about stunning €80m forward signing as Tottenham rocked - TEAMtalk
Description

Manchester United are firmly in the race to bring Christian Pulisic back to the Premier League, with reports revealing AC Milan’s stance on a potential sale and which other Premier League giants are in the mix.

Chelsea agreed a £58million deal for Pulisic in January 2019, with the forward officially joining from Borussia Dortmund that summer. Pulisic arrived with high expectations after establishing himself as one of Europe’s best wingers – and as the USMNT’s standout star – while in Germany.

Pulisic went on to register 26 goals and 21 assists in 145 matches for Chelsea. He helped the Blues to win the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup, though injuries and inconsistent form meant he never justified his big price tag.

The USMNT captain left Chelsea to join Milan for £20m in July 2023, and he has been reborn in Italy. His record stands at 42 goals and 25 assists in 121 games for the Rossoneri, far more impressive than his Chelsea numbers.

This term, Pulisic has managed 10 goals and two assists in 21 outings, with his brilliant form attracting the attention of several of Chelsea’s rivals.

According to CaughtOffside, Man Utd are ‘serious’ about signing Pulisic this summer as they look to ‘inject fresh energy into their attack’.

Man Utd admire the 27-year-old’s versatility as he can play as a second striker, centre-forward or winger on either flank.

Arsenal have been deeply impressed by Pulisic’s deadly form in front of goal and are also considering a move, while Tottenham Hotspur see him as ‘the dynamic wide option they’ve been missing’.

The report adds that Milan are open to Pulisic’s sale and have set their asking price at €70-80m (£61-70m / $83-95m).

This update comes after we exclusively revealed on Thursday that the player is increasingly open to a Premier League return, with interest growing by the week.

Man Utd, Liverpool in contact for Pulisic

Sources confirmed to us that Tottenham are showing the most proactive interest in him. It is an intriguing turn of events given USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino has already greenlit a thrilling return to Spurs.

We understand United, Liverpool and Arsenal have all spoken with intermediaries to discuss potential moves for Pulisic.

One reason Pulisic might push for a transfer out of Milan is the fact the Italian giants have been so slow in organising his new contract.

Pulisic’s current terms expire in June 2027 and Milan are slow-playing negotiations. If they leave it too long then the attacker will seriously consider potential suitors such as United, Spurs and Arsenal.

Thomas Frank on radar of THREE Premier League clubs despite brutal Tottenham axing

Thomas Frank on radar of THREE Premier League clubs despite brutal Tottenham axing - TEAMtalk
Description

Thomas Frank may not have long to wait for a Premier League return, TEAMtalk understands, with the recently‑dismissed Tottenham boss already drawing interest from Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Fulham.

All three clubs have confirmed to us that Frank is firmly under consideration as they prepare for what could be a turbulent summer of managerial change.

Palace already know Oliver Glasner will depart at the end of the season, while Bournemouth and Fulham are braced for uncertainty with Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva both out of contract. Each club is carrying out its due diligence, but the message is consistent: Frank is a manager they admire and someone they are actively assessing.

What makes this particularly striking is how quickly Frank has re‑emerged as a coveted figure. Indeed, his stock has barely dipped despite his short spell at Tottenham, largely because of the body of work he built at Brentford — a project that transformed him from a respected coach into one of the most sought‑after managers in Europe.

Frank’s rise at Brentford was no overnight success. He inherited a club with a clear identity but limited resources, and elevated it with a blend of tactical intelligence, data‑driven decision‑making and an ability to improve players others had overlooked.

Under his guidance, Brentford became a model of sustainable Premier League progression: fearless in possession, relentless in their pressing, and tactically adaptable in a way that consistently unsettled bigger sides. His promotion campaign, followed by establishing Brentford as a stable top‑flight outfit, earned him widespread admiration across the continent.

Recruitment departments loved him because he maximised undervalued talent. Sporting directors loved him because he worked within structure, rather than against it. Players loved him because he made them better. And rival clubs took note. By the time Spurs came calling, Frank had already been on the long‑term lists of several Premier League and Bundesliga sides.

Even though his tenure at Tottenham ended abruptly, insiders insist it has done little to diminish his reputation.

Indeed, many within the game view the Spurs job as a uniquely volatile environment, and Frank’s broader track record still paints the picture of a coach capable of building culture, improving squads and delivering results above budget.

That is why Bournemouth, Palace and Fulham are circling now.

Each club sees a potential opening, each club knows the value of stability, and each club recognises that Frank — with his Premier League experience, developmental pedigree and proven ability to work within modern football structures — fits the profile of the next wave of top‑flight managers.

With interest already building and the summer carousel about to spin, the sense from multiple sources is that Frank’s return to the Premier League may come sooner rather than later.

Igor Tudor the ‘electroshock’ Tottenham needed as new interim coach delivers 61-word statement to fans - TEAMtalk
Description

New Tottenham Hotspur interim head coach Igor Tudor delivered a short statement over his intentions in north London after being given the job of shifting a team, currently at rock-bottom, away from the threat of relegation.

Spurs are currently five points clear of 18th-placed West Ham in the battle to avoid the drop after a run of just two wins in 17 Premier League games saw Thomas Frank sacked in midweek.

After plenty of speculation over who would take on the job until the end of the season, with Mauricio Pochettino and Robert De Zerbi remaining the frontrunners to take the full-time post in the summer, Tudor’s name seemingly appeared from nowhere.

The Croatian, who has been out of work since being sacked by Juventus back in October after an eight-match winless run, has been trusted with moving Tottenham swiftly up the table, despite having zero experience of management in England’s top flight – something that clearly alarms two former Spurs stars.

However, the 47-year-old, who does have a reputation as a firefighter capable of turning bad situations around, insists he is ready for the challenge ahead.

Speaking on the club’s official website after being officially announced, Tudor said: “It is an honour to join this Club at an important moment.

“I understand the responsibility I have been handed and my focus is clear. To bring greater consistency to our performances and compete with conviction in every match.

“There is strong quality in this playing squad, and my job is to organise it, energise it and improve our results quickly.”

On the appointment, much-criticised sporting director Johan Lange added: “Igor brings clarity, intensity and experience of stepping into challenging moments and producing impact.

“Our objective is straightforward – to stabilise performances, maximise the quality within the squad and compete strongly in the Premier League and Champions League.”

What Igor Tudor will bring to Tottenham

In terms of what the Tottenham players and supporters can expect to see from Tudor, it could be night and day from the turgid football being churned out by Thomas Frank.

Indeed, it looks like the under-performing Spurs stars are in for a rude awakening when they return from a five-day break on Monday.

“His style is intense,” George Boxall, a football journalist based in Marseille, where Tudor managed between 2022 and 2023, told BBC Sport.

“The players do a hell of a lot of running. There’s lots of intensity, lots of pressing.

“He is a really strong personality and he could be a good appointment for Tottenham if they feel they need an electroshock.”

L’Equipe journalist Pierre-Etienne Minonzio added: “He asks his players to run a lot. In a previous interview he said ‘if you don’t run, you don’t play’.

“In his one season in Marseille it was always the same way of playing – 3-5-2 – and it was great to watch.

“It was not easy because Marseille’s best player was Dimitri Payet, a very gifted player but not well-known for running, and he didn’t play.

“It was a joke in L’Equipe – if Igor Tudor had Lionel Messi in his squad, Messi would not play!”

A clear warning then to Tottenham’s players as they prepare for Tudor’s first game in charge – the small matter of a north London derby against Premier League leaders Arsenal next Sunday.

Igor Tudor: New Tottenham boss 'can only fail' as 'only way' to get permanent job predicted

Igor Tudor ‘can only fail’ at Tottenham after appointment confirmed as ‘only way’ to get permanent job predicted - TEAMtalk
Description

Igor Tudor has been confirmed as Tottenham’s head coach until the end of the season, having been given a triple-pronged mandate, with a pair of former Spurs players sharing their thoughts on the decision.

Following the sacking of Thomas Frank, Tottenham have agreed for Tudor to take charge on an interim basis. Earlier this season, he was sacked by Juventus. Now, he has officially signed up with Spurs, where his unspoken target will be to avoid relegation.

Tottenham outlined precisely what improvements they want to see from Tudor in their announcement of his appointment, writing: “His mandate is straightforward – bring organisation, intensity and competitive edge to the squad at a decisive stage of the campaign.”

But the former Croatia international is faced with the burden of it being nigh-on impossible to measure what success in the role will look like, according to Tim Sherwood.

The former Spurs player and manager – who threw his own name into the ring on Sky Sports earlier this week – has outlined why Tudor is unlikely to get any credit and why staying beyond this season would hinge on extreme conditions.

“It’s going to be difficult,” Sherwood said on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday. “He has no knowledge of the Premier League. People will say, does that matter? It doesn’t matter if you’re taking a job at the top of the league, but you’re coming in.

“What’s the upside of taking this job, apart from money, for him? If he finishes 12th, he’s getting no credit.

“The downside is so catastrophic. Would you want your fingerprints all over Tottenham getting relegated from the Premier League?

“Thomas Frank would still be there if it wasn’t for the toxic nature of the fans. And I can totally understand the disgruntlement of the fans because they’re not getting results.

“I heard people say they’re sleepwalking into the Championship. I think they’ll have enough, even with the injuries, to get out of it. But he will get no credit for that.

“The downside is so great, he can only fail. He’s getting no credit for keeping Tottenham in the league.

“The only way he gets the job on a permanent basis, if he does well, there’s an opportunity for him to take it long term, what does doing well actually look like?

“Is it [Roberto] Di Matteo at Chelsea, winning the Champions League? Winning every single game? Chelsea had a lot better players than Tottenham did to win the Champions League.”

Tudor ‘needs to make a quick fix’

Fellow former Spurs player turned Sky pundit, Michael Dawson, insisted the club didn’t want to end their experiment with Frank, but now need to rely on Tudor to instil some quick changes.

“The hierarchy, I don’t think wanted to do it,” Dawson said. “You can clearly see that they didn’t have someone, when they sacked Thomas on Wednesday morning, that there wasn’t someone in tow quick. It’s taken until today to get it confirmed. Igor Tudor is the guy who’s going to take the helm for 12 Premier League games.

“And he needs to make a quick fix. He has to find some belief. He has to galvanise his group of players. Next game is the North London derby, the fans have to be on board.

“Let’s not get away from this, there’s five points between them and West Ham. It could have been three had Manchester United not scored in the last minute.

“And then the real nervousness, anxiety surrounding it, it’s mind-blowing to think that Tottenham are in a relegation battle, it really is. And that is a concern why I think they’ve made this decision.”

The inside story on Tottenham’s manager search

TEAMtalk’s Graeme Bailey earlier shed some insight on the process behind Tottenham turning to Tudor.

Initially, they made discreet contact with Roberto De Zerbi following the former Brighton manager’s recent departure from Marseille.

However, De Zerbi was unwilling to commit to an interim role, despite his interest in the long-term post.

Tottenham will assess their options in the summer, when the likes of De Zerbi, Mauricio Pochettino and more will be on the shortlist.

They have also been impressed by the impact of Man Utd’s interim manager Michael Carrick, and could make a move for him if he doesn’t get that job permanently.

Andoni Iraola and Oliver Glasner have both been discussed, while former England boss Gareth Southgate also has admirers at Tottenham.

Ornstein reveals Aston Villa contact for Tottenham star in Gallagher revenge mission as summer battle predicted - TEAMtalk
Description

Aston Villa lost out to Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Conor Gallagher last month – but it’s now emerged that they have tried to get their own back by snatching a Spurs player for themselves.

Gallagher joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid in January, despite initially being open to signing for Aston Villa instead. It marked the second time Gallagher snubbed a move to Villa Park after they previously agreed a deal with Chelsea in 2024 before his Spanish switch.

Villa’s eventual response was to re-sign Douglas Luiz on loan from Juventus after his unsuccessful spell at Nottingham Forest. However, David Ornstein has now shed light on their interest in a talented Tottenham midfielder.

According to his report for The Athletic, Villa made contact with Tottenham about Lucas Bergvall after missing out on Gallagher.

The deal didn’t progress, since Spurs were in no mood to consider selling Bergvall, despite his gametime dropping under Thomas Frank compared to what it was like under Ange Postecoglou.

Nevertheless, Ornstein – one of the most reliable transfer journalists in the world – has predicted that Tottenham ‘could face a battle’ to keep Bergvall in the summer.

Also among his admirers are Chelsea, who coincidentally were also in the mix for Luiz before missing out to Villa. Spurs’ London rivals were also in direct club-to-club contact for Bergvall.

Bergvall is under contract with Tottenham until 2031 and was named as their player of the season for 2024-25. But their miserable fortunes this season will inevitably lead to rumours about some of their better players – especially ones who haven’t played as often as they’d like.

Want more breaking transfer lines from original sources? Add TEAMtalk as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust.

It isn’t explicitly clear if Villa will be back in for Bergvall in the summer, but it’s worth remembering that Luiz is only back on loan.

Even so, Spurs will likely meet any offers for Bergvall with resistance. TEAMtalk’s Dean Jones revealed in December that he is internally viewed as a player who could develop into a £100m asset.

For now, though, Bergvall is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.

Aston Villa and Tottenham in more transfer battles

But the story doesn’t stop there between Villa and Spurs.

For example, according to the Italian media, Villa have reportedly joined Spurs in the race for an impressive Serie A midfielder.

TEAMtalk’s Fraser Fletcher has also revealed Villa are very keen on Morgan Gibbs-White, the Nottingham Forest star who was close to joining Tottenham in the summer.
