Tottenham slap big price tag on Son as talks held with former manager - TEAMtalk
Description

Son Heung-min has reportedly held talks over a summer transfer exit, as Tottenham’s eye-opening asking price for the club legend comes to light.

The South Korean international joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 for around £22 million (€25.7m, $29.5m) and since then, he has become a club legend.

The 32-year-old, who helped guide Spurs to their first trophy in 17 years when they won this season’s Europa League, has scored 173 goals and added 101 assists in 454 appearances for the north London outfit.

But speculation is mounting that the forward could be heading to pastures new this summer, despite the club exercising an option to extend his stay until 2026.

Reports suggest Tottenham will not stand in Son’s way if he wants to move on for next season, amid links with Saudi Pro League teams.

And reports in Turkey claim that Son has met with former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho about moving to Fenerbahce. The ex-Hamburg player is said to be valued at €30 million (£25.6m, $34.5m) despite having just one year left on his contract and is ‘open’ to the switch.

Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu tweeted: “Jose Mourinho met with Heung-Min Son. The Korean star’s relations with Mourinho are at a very advanced level, and he is open to coming to Fenerbahçe.

“A transfer fee of 30 million euros is requested due to agreements in the Far East. If the transfer issue is resolved, the talks will progress.”

Son giving little away over his Tottenham future

In the past year or so, it seems Son’s boundless energy and athleticism have began to wane. While he still made 46 appearances this season, more and more niggles have come his way.

A haul of 11 goals and 12 assists is nothing to be sniffed at, but it does seem as if Son’s time in north London may be drawing to a close. And when asked about his future, he kept his cards close to his chest.

Following his country’s 4-0 win over Kuwait last week, he said: “I still have one more year left on the contract. Rather than saying anything at this moment, I think we should all wait and see what happens. But no matter where I end up, I will always do the best I can. It will never change.”

Incidentally, Son played 70 times for Tottenham under Mourinho, who managed at the club between 2019-2021.

The South Korean scored 29 goals and added 25 assists, with the first of his four Premier League hat-tricks coming under the Portuguese. If Son does leave, his place in Spurs’ history is very secure.

'Big clubs' willing to pay €60m for Tottenham star as Frank sworn in - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham have reportedly slapped a €60 million price tag on one of their rising stars, at a time when new boss Thomas Frank has made an early promise to the club’s fans.

Daniel Levy’s Tottenham are seemingly set for another rebuild after sacking head coach Ange Postecoglou just a matter of weeks on from leading them to Europa League glory.

Spurs have acted quickly and snapped up Brentford boss Frank as the Australian’s successor, as the north London team try to mount a challenge domestically and in Europe.

One player who has enhanced his reputation a great deal this season is midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who is really starting to deliver on his considerable potential.

Now, according to Fotboll Direkt, unnamed ‘big clubs’ are willing to meet Spurs’ €60m (£51m, $69m) asking price for the 19-year-old – who cost just £8.5m in early 2024.

The report adds that the teenager’s reputation is rising but it seems unlikely that Frank, who was sworn in on Wednesday (June 18), and co would allow the Swedish international to leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium anytime soon.

Incidentally, when asked about what style of play Spurs fans can expect next season under the Dane, he said: “I’ll explain it a little bit now, but I rather want to, how can you say, show it.

“You can talk a lot, but I think it’s more what we show, what we try to do, but in a few words the intention is to play aggressive front-footed football and I know the ethos and the history of the club is massive on attacking football, and I think there’s so much attacking talent in the squad. I’m very excited about that.”

Bergvall commits long-term future to Tottenham

Tottenham beat Barcelona to the teenager’s signature in 2024, partly because they could guarantee him more regular first-team football, and it seems he won’t be leaving for the forseeable future.

That is because the ex-Djurgarden star, who made 45 appearances this season, put pen to paper on a new deal with Spurs until the summer of 2031 back in April.

While he had to be patient at times, Bergvall still started 24 games in all competitions and seems very happy to be a Tottenham player.

In April, he said on his new deal: “I’m really excited and really grateful to everyone who has helped me and I’m excited for this journey to continue, It’s a club with great ambitions, I’m really enjoying being here and playing for this amazing football club.

“I’ve learned a lot. Coming to a new country, a new culture, of course I had Deki (Dejan Kulusevski) helping me a lot in the beginning but still, living on your own, making food and everything… it’s not only to be a footballer to train every day, it’s everything around it.

“You have to take care of the car, the house or apartment… everything really, so I think I’ve developed a lot as a person as well as a player.”

Tottenham make drastic Bryan Mbeumo decision as huge Man Utd transfer roars closer - TEAMtalk
Description

Manchester United have moved a significant step closer towards the signing of Bryan Mbeumo after it was claimed Tottenham Hotspur have now withdrawn their interest, while the valuation gap between the Red Devils and Brentford is close to finding common ground.

The Cameroon forward is a wanted man off the back of the best season of his career. After contributing towards 29 goals (20 goals, nine assists) from 42 appearances, Mbeumo ended the campaign with a G/A every 123.3 minutes he was on the field. And with the Bees not standing in his way of making the next career step, a frantic battle has ensued for his services.

And while both Newcastle and Arsenal had expressed an interest, the 25-year-old’s decision to join Manchester United this summer had seen the Red Devils hold talks over a big-money summer deal.

But when their first offer for the player fell short of Brentford’s expectations, the door swung wide open for Tottenham Hotspur to take advantage, with the subsequent appointment of Thomas Frank as their new manager adding weight to the north London side’s chances.

The fact they were also ready to offer more than United’s initial offer also gave them added hope.

However, sources have insisted that Mbeumo has never swayed from his determination to join United.

And with TEAMtalk transfer insider Rudy Galetti posting a considerable update on the saga on Tuesday evening suggesting an agreement between the Bees and United was edging closer, Frank’s new side are understood to have reached a major decision on their own efforts to sign the player.

That’s according to journalist Valentin Furlan, who claims Tottenham are now ‘out of the race for Mbeumo’, with the player ‘giving his word’ to United, leaving Frank to accept that a reunion in N17 with his talismanic star is not going to be possible.

GO DEEPER 🔴⚫ The dream Man Utd attack with two new forwards to join Matheus Cunha

Bryan Mbeumo: Man Utd working to thrash out transfer agreement

According to Galetti, Mbeumo has already agreed personal terms with United over what is likely to be a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

The Italian transfer correspondent posted on X: “Positive contacts between Man UTD and Brentford for Mbeumo. The gap on fixed fee is narrowing: just a few million left.

“Personal terms have already been agreed, as revealed days ago: to date, Bryan only wants MUFC – no interest in other clubs.”

Having only made one offer so far, said to be worth a downpayment of £45m with a further £10m in add-ons, United have been locked in talks over reaching a compromise.

Sources understand that the Bees are looking to achieve a fee similar to the one United struck with Wolves for Matheus Cunha, worth £62.5m, despite the fact that the 22-times capped Cameroon star has effectively one year left on his deal. The Bees do have the opportunity to extend that by a further year, though, hence their demands to obtain a higher price than United’s opening gambit.

Mbeumo himself has been keeping a low profile as the two clubs work on thrashing out a compromise.

However, the Sky Sports cameras did catch up with him during Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.

“It is a bit new for me, I would say! I think it can be the life of a footballer and you need to accept it,” the attacker stated.

Mbeumo was also quizzed about his future last month, while appearing alongside his Brentford strike partner Yoane Wissa on former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel’s on The Obi One Podcast.

“I think this is something we can always do. But you need a lot of resilience because you can say, ‘I want to be there’ but if you don’t do [enough] you won’t be able to achieve what you really want,” Mbeumo began.

“I think the mental part is to say to yourself when it’s getting hard, ‘can I go harder, yes’ if you say no, you will stay the good player you are, you can’t be the best.”

During the interview, Mbeumo was also questioned about his mental fortitude to handle the pressures that comes with playing for a club like Manchester United.

“I always wanted to play the biggest game[s] for the biggest club when I was younger,” Mbeumo answered. “It’s easy to say that I want to be there but obviously you need to put a lot of demand on yourself and I’ve shown what I’m capable of.

“I’m really demanding of myself as well because I know I have the abilities [but] we never know what might happen.”

Spurs in direct contact for explosive Rennes star; unusual Antony move close

As an alternative to Mbeumo, Tottenham are interested in signing Jack Grealish from Manchester City, while sources have confirmed the name of another £60m-rated winger the north London club are also in talks with.

Elsewhere, Spurs have reportedly taken a big leap forward in their bid to snap up a dynamic Rennes striker, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of returning to the Champions League next season.

Over at Old Trafford, United are understood to be increasingly open to the possibility of granting Antony a dream transfer away from Old Trafford, amid claims a rarely-seen arrangement will help facilitate the deal.

Meanwhile, United have decided on the two forwards they could offer Eintracht Frankfurt in a remarkable player-plus-cash deal for striker Hugo Ekitike, according to a report.

Saudi clubs set Son Heung-min signing limit as Tottenham reach final exit decision - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made a final decision over whether to sell club legend Son Heung-min this summer, although it won’t come until later in the window, while Saudi Po League clubs have set the price they are willing to pay for the South Korean.

The 32-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract in north London after the club opted to take up the option to keep him on for another 12 months back in February.

Son took Ange Postecoglou’s exit particularly hard, with the arrival of Thomas Frank as the Australian’s replacement immediately sparking rumours that the forward had played his last competitive game for the club.

And now a fresh report from The Times has stated that Tottenham will not stand in Son’s way if he chooses to leave, although any exit will not come until after the club’s upcoming tour of Asia has concluded.

Indeed, Son won’t be allowed to leave before August 3, as he’s committed to the pre-season friendly against Newcastle in South Korea — a key part of the club’s commercial tour. After that, his exit is expected to become a reality.

The former Bayer Leverkusen star has made more than 450 appearances for Tottenham since signing for the club for just £22million back in 2015, scoring 173 goals in the process.

Having lifted the club’s first silverware in 17 years in Bilbao after Europa League glory last month, Son could now be on his way to the Middle East as Saudi clubs queue up for his signature.

Saudi clubs set conditions for Son signing

Meanwhile, top club chiefs in Saudi Arabia have reportedly decided how much they would be willing to pay for Son, as well as the lucrative wages they are prepared to put on the table to secure his signature.

Clubs from the SPL initially started showing interest in the South Korea captain in the summer of 2023 before returning again in 2024. However, Son made it clear at that time that his preference was to remain at Tottenham.

But after the club finally ended their long trophy hunt and Postecoglou was subsequently shown the door, things have now changed – with a report from talkSPORT revealing what senior Saudi Pro League figures are willing to fork out for the player ahead of an expected exit.

They state that it will take a £34million (€40m / $45m) transfer fee to get the deal done, despite the fact that Son will be turning 33 in July.

Son is also expected to demand massive wages if he does move to Saudi, with the report adding that he can be expected to earn a whopping £25.6m-a-year wage proposal reportedly in the works, which equates to just under £500,000 a week.

Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr and Al-Qadsiah are the three Saudi sides believed to be showing the most serious interest in the Tottenham legend, with a lucrative South Korean TV rights deal likely to follow.

Tottenham transfers: Levy hits afterburners in race for 18-goal Solanke alternative - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly taken a big leap forward in their bid to snap up a dynamic Dominic Solanke alternative, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of returning to the Champions League next season.

Spurs’ shortcomings were there for all to see during the 2024/25 season, as their injury crisis left Ange Postecoglou having to prioritise Europa League glory over the club’s disastrous domestic campaign.

While a first trophy in 17 years was delivered, a 17th-placed Premier League finish cost Postecoglou his job, with Tottenham now moving forward with Thomas Frank at the helm.

The Dane is expected to be handed significant funds to make sure the north London club are not left short-handed again for the upcoming campaign, especially when they are back at the top table of European football.

Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel have already had their loan stints turned into permanent moves at a cost of just over £50m, but Frank is still keen on better attacking options.

To that end, it’s no great surprise to see continued links to Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, while TEAMtalk can also reveal that Tottenham are also keen on a cut-price Jack Grealish deal.

However, according to a fresh report from French outlet L’Equipe, Spurs have also accelerated their efforts to sign a new striker in the form of top Rennes talent Arnaud Kalimuendo.

With the transfer window now open again, the report states that Tottenham transfer chiefs are entering discussions with counterparts from Rennes to try and strike a deal for the 23-year-old attacker.

Kalimuendo enjoyed a hugely successful campaign in France last time out, scoring 18 goals in 34 games in all competitions while also chalking up four assists.

However, Tottenham are not the only club chasing his services, with the report also suggesting that Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen are also showing interest in Kalimuendo.

DON’T MISS ➡️ The electric Tottenham XI under Thomas Frank with FOUR new signings

One in, one out for Tottenham

As well as being strong competition for Tottenham’s current record signing Solanke, Kalimuendo will almost certainly be a direct replacement for Richarlison in north London.

The Brazilian has struggled badly for consistency during his time at Spurs, although his stop-start spell at the club has not been helped by multiple injury issues.

Richarlison has netted just 20 times in 9o appearances for the club, while also chalking up 10 assists, as links to the Saudi Pro League refuse to go away.

At this stage, Frank is weighing up his squad and working out the main areas he needs to strengthen, but there is no doubting that having another reliable No.9 on board will be one of his main priorities – especially given the workload Tottenham will face next season.

Kalimuendo will certainly help in that regard and is expected to cost in the region of reported €30million (£26m), given that he has just two years remaining on his contract.

Meanwhile, L’Equipe adds that other clubs being alerted to the striker’s availability has forced Daniel Levy and co. to intensify their efforts to get a deal done. Indeed, it’s stated that Spurs have now made direct contact with Rennes to begin formal talks over the transfer.

However, it must be noted that no official bid has been made at this stage as Spurs test the waters over how much they actually need to spend to get their man.

🔵 Shock Marcus Rashford TWIST sparks two top Man Utd rivals to join transfer race

🔵 Bryan Mbeumo ‘wants move to Man Utd’ after Andre Onana chat derailed Tottenham

Who is Arnaud Kalimuendo?

Born less than 10 miles from the centre of Paris, Kalimuendo spent eight years learning his trade in the PSG academy until he gained his senior debut in September 2020.

The PSG attack that season contained Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Moise Kean and Mauro Icardi, while Lionel Messi would join in the summer of 2021. Naturally, it was hard for a teenage Kalimuendo to break through.

Thus, PSG sent him on loan to Lens in October 2020 and then again in August 2021 to further his development. It was over these two loan spells that the attacker began to fulfil his potential, scoring 21 goals from 65 games.

Despite PSG extending his contract prior to that first loan spell, he never played competitively for the club again. Instead, after his second return from Lens, he moved to Rennes for a fee believed to be €25m.

Kalimuendo’s goal tally for Rennes has improved season upon season. He only scored seven times in 2022-23, but set a new career best with 15 in 2023-24 and – after winning silver at the Paris Olympics with France’s U23s – exceeded it with 18 in 2024-25, despite Rennes not being involved in Europe in his third season there.

The caveat is that five of those 18 goals were penalties, and a sixth was scored off a rebound after a penalty.

Standing at 5 ft 9 in, Kalimuendo has found a home for himself as a centre-forward, although he has covered on the wing very occasionally before.

He’s the type of finisher who likes to get shots off quickly, but can also bring others into play.

At 23 years of age, Kalimuendo isn’t the finished article yet and has areas of his game to refine, but he seems to be on an upwards trajectory.

Every Tottenham done deal in the summer 2025 transfer window - TEAMtalk
Description

It’s a new era at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the appointment of Thomas Frank as the replacement for Ange Postecoglou – and work is underway to make the squad more suitable for him.

Postecoglou led Spurs to their first trophy since 2008 by winning the Europa League last season, but their disappointing finish in the Premier League table cost him his job. Now, former Brentford boss Frank has taken up the reins ahead of their return to Champions League football.

Whenever a new manager comes in at a club, it’s an appropriate time to assess the squad and see what changes need to be made.

Tottenham are now in the process of making the signings and sales to get the squad in shape for how Frank wants to build up his project in north London.

Here is a roundup of every signing they have made this summer and every player leaving, at first team and academy level.

Tottenham signings

Luka Vuskovic

From: Hajduk Split

Fee: £12m

Position: Centre-back

Age: 18

After turning 18 in February, Vuskovic is now finally eligible to complete the move Spurs agreed in September 2023.

The promising centre-back was playing for Hajduk Split at the time, but has since had loan spells with Radomiak Radom and Westerlo.

Last season, in the Belgian Pro League, Vuskovic played 36 times and – impressively for a defender – scored seven goals.

Then, in June, Vuskovic earned his senior international debut for Croatia, which represents the progress he has made.

His contract in north London will last until 2030. There have been murmurs of interest in a loan from other clubs for the 2025-26 season, but Frank will want to assess him in pre-season first.

Kevin Danso

From: Lens

Fee: £21m

Position: Centre-back

Age: 26

One of two loan moves from last season that Spurs have made permanent, Danso joined from Lens in February and played as a substitute in the Europa League final.

Spurs’ purchase clause for the centre-back was an obligation, so they stumped up the pre-agreed £21m at the end of May.

Danso made 15 appearances during his loan spell, 12 of which were starts. Spurs suffered from a host of injury issues at centre-back last season, so it will be interesting to see how he fits in if everyone is available in the new season.

“When you join a top club, there’s always competition, but I’m up for the challenge,” he told Austrian media recently about fighting for his place.

There have been some doubts swirling about the future of Cristian Romero, so Danso may have an opportunity to step up again as the Frank era begins.

Mathys Tel

From: Bayern Munich

Fee: £29.8m

Position: Forward

Age: 20

Spurs’ second loanee brought in over the winter was Tel, who joined from Bayern Munich with an option – rather than obligation – to buy.

Tel scored three goals from 20 games while on loan, but was an unused substitute in the Europa League final.

Nevertheless, Spurs have decided to put their faith in him for the long term with a six-year contract to tie him down until 2031.

TEAMtalk understands that new boss Frank told Spurs he wanted Tel to stay at the club, prompting their decision to buy him for just under £30m.

Tottenham exits

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

To: Marseille

Fee: £17m

Position: Midfielder

Age: 29

Hojbjerg’s fate was sealed last summer when Spurs sent him to Marseille, who agreed an obligation to buy the midfielder at the end of his loan spell.

Working under former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, Hojbjerg made 32 appearances for Marseille and became their vice-captain.

Across his four previous seasons with Spurs, Hojbjerg totalled 184 appearances and 10 goals.

Spurs will be looking to regenerate their midfield to a degree this summer, but Hojbjerg is now in their past.

Fraser Forster

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Goalkeeper

Age: 37

Forster’s destiny became almost inevitable in January when Spurs bought Antonin Kinsky to be their new backup goalkeeper.

Prior to that, Forster was acting as the stand-in for the injured Guglielmo Vicario. After Kinsky’s arrival, the experienced ex-England international was demoted to third choice.

And at the age of 37, Forster has reached the end of his service to Spurs with 34 appearances behind him.

After being released at the end of his contract, it remains to be seen what the next steps are for the former Celtic and Southampton man.

Sergio Reguilon

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Left-back

Age: 28

Realistically, there hasn’t been a place in Spurs’ long-term plans for Reguilon for a few years.

Bought from Real Madrid in September 2020, the left-back spent two seasons in Spurs’ first team before loan spells with Atletico Madrid in 2022-23 and Manchester United and Brentford in 2023-24.

Last season, he was reintegrated by Spurs, but not to play much. Reguilon made just six appearances during the final year of his contract and wasn’t used at all on their road to Europa League glory.

Having cost up to £32m for Spurs to sign, Reguilon is now free to find his next club for no transfer fee.

Alfie Whiteman

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Goalkeeper

Age: 26

The goalkeeper had two loan spells with Swedish side Degerfors IF in 2021 and 2022 but was a backup member of the Spurs goalkeeping department for the last three years.

Despite his lack of activity, he was still given a medal for his contributions behind the scenes in Spurs’ 2024-25 Europa League win.

“It’s emotional because I’ve loved my time at Spurs,” he said after being released. “The club is so close to my heart, but I want to be out there, whether you win or you lose, whether you save a penalty or the ball goes through your legs. That’s what I’ve always wanted.”

Charlie Warren

To: QPR

Fee: Free

Position: Goalkeeper

Age: 18

Warren was also a Spurs academy player for 10 years, making it up to under-18 level.

After his contract came to an end, the goalkeeper has agreed to join the QPR Development Squad after having a trial there.

“It was good to be involved with the boys towards the end of last season, obviously with the (Premier League) Cup win,” he said on QPR’s website. “The feel around the training ground and within the squad was really, really positive.

“So that’s what I want to be part of next season and kick on from there.”

Timileyin Adekunle

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Defender

Age: 18

Rarely used in the under-18 team, Adekunle is a centre-back who can also play at right-back.

Formerly with non-league outfit Aveley FC, he has now been let go from the Spurs system.

Will Andiyapan

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Defender

Age: 20

Andiyapan signed his first professional contract with Spurs in March 2023 and made nine Premier League 2 appearances for the under-21 side last season.

Able to play at centre-back or right-back, he has been capped by Wales up to under-19 level. However, Spurs released him at the end of his contract.

Archie Baptiste

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Defender

Age: 19

After taking his first steps with Chelsea up to under-14 level, Baptiste played for Spurs from the under-15s to the under-21s.

Most of his gametime was for the under-18s in 2022-23 and 2023-24, with involvement limited for the lofty centre-back in his final year at Spurs before his release.

Elliot Krasniqi

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Goalkeeper

Age: 19

Youth keeper Krasniqi spent a month of last season on loan at Bishop’s Stortford in the seventh tier of English football, having previously played in non-league with Hertford Town and Waltham Abbey on work experience.

He only ever played once for Spurs’ under-21s after joining the club as an under-13 player and has now been released.

Jahziah Linton

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Left-back

Age: 20

An athletic left-back, Linton was signed by Spurs as an 11-year-old. He played seven times last season for the under-21s in Premier League 2.

Linton signed professional terms with Spurs in April 2023 but his deal has now expired.

Maxwell McKnight

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Right-back

Age: 20

McKnight joined the Spurs academy at the age of 12 and played regularly for the under-21s last season.

He is another of the youngsters being released upon contract expiry, though.

Dante Orr

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Right-back

Age: 18

Orr earned a handful of appearances for Spurs’ under-18s in the Premier League for that age bracket and the FA Youth Cup last season.

But his involvement was sporadic and he made no appearances after Christmas before being released.

Max Robson

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Right-back

Age: 22

Originally an attacking midfielder, Robson was converted to a right-back during his time in the Spurs setup and was playing fairly often for the under-21s last season before his contract expired.

“After 15 incredible years at this Football club, the time has come for me to say goodbye and move on to the next chapter in my career,” he posted on Instagram in May. “This club has been my home, my family, and a place that has shaped me in ways I will always be grateful for. I want to thank the staff, my teammates, and everyone behind the scenes who has supported me every step of the way. Your dedication and belief in me has meant everything to me.

“Although I’m moving on, I’ll carry Spurs with me always. Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and the love.”

Jaden Williams

To: TBC (Released)

Fee: Free

Position: Striker

Age: 20

Williams was with Spurs since the age of six. He scored five goals in Premier League 2 for the under-21s last season, including a hat-trick against Blackburn Rovers, but has reached the end of his contract.

The striker posted on Instagram in June: “After 14 unforgettable years, the time has come for me to embark on a new chapter. Since this is just the beginning I thank God for getting me this far. Spurs has been an incredible club and the place that shaped me into who I am today. From my first steps onto the pitch to my last training session, every moment has been filled with passion, growth, and unforgettable memories. I’m beyond grateful for the teammates who became brothers, the coaches who believed in me, the staff who supported me day in and day out.

“This club will always be part of my journey. Though I’m moving on, I take with me the lessons, the friendships, and the pride of having worn this badge for so many years.”

Tottenham face one huge problem in signing ‘unbelievable’ winger in £50m deal - sources - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Jack Grealish from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, sources have told TEAMtalk, with the north London club also in talks to bring another winger in a £60million deal to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

What looked set to be a hugely disappointing season turned out to be a successful one for Tottenham, as Ange Postecoglou guided the team to Europa League success. A 1-0 win against Manchester United in the final in Bilbao saw Tottenham end their 17-year wait for a trophy and also qualify for the 2025/26 Champions League.

Tottenham chiefs, though, were far from happy with the club’s 17th-placed finish in the Premier League table and sacked Postecoglou.

Thomas Frank is the new Tottenham manager, and the former Brentford boss is already starting to make his mark at the club, with Mathys Tel making his loan deal from Bayern Munich permanent on the Dane’s recommendations.

Sources have told TEAMtalk that Tottenham are also interested in a summer deal for Man City and England international winger Grealish.

Spurs have an ambitious plan to bolster their attacking options and are targeting Grealish, who played predominantly as a left-winger last season and scored three goals and gave five assists in 32 matches for Man City.

Described as “an unbelievable player” by Man City manager Pep Guardiola on Sky Sports in May, Grealish has been left out of the Cityzens’ Club World Cup squad.

Sources have told TEAMtalk that Man City are open to selling the 29-year-old England international for £50m this summer after his role in the team diminished in recent seasons.

Tottenham are exploring a loan deal as well as a permanent transfer, but Grealish’s hefty wages could prove a significant stumbling block unless he agrees to a pay cut.

The former Aston Villa star’s current salary of £280,000-a-week poses a financial challenge for Spurs, who are mindful of their wage structure.

Negotiations will likely hinge on Grealish’s willingness to adjust his demands to facilitate the move.

TEAMtalk understands that Everton are also very keen on Grealish and have already expressed a strong interest in a loan deal.

The Toffees, however, would require Man City to cover a significant portion of his wages to make the move viable.

This financial constraint could give Spurs an edge, provided they can navigate the wage issue.

Grealish, though, is not the only winger that Tottenham want to sign, with club chairman Daniel Levy keen to grant Frank another of his wishes.

Under new manager Frank, Tottenham are keen to strengthen both flanks to push for a top-four finish in the Premier League table.

While Spurs have identified Grealish as a versatile option for the left wing, where his creativity and flair could complement the new style under Frank, the north London club are targeting a right-sided winger, too.

Sources have intimated to TEAMtalk that Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo and Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford are high on Tottenham’s list.

Both Semenyo and Mbeumo have impressed in the Premier League, offering pace and directness that could add a new dimension to Tottenham’s attack.

However, Mbeumo, who scored 20 goals and gave eight assists in 38 Premier League matches for Brentford last season, would prefer a move to Manchester United to a switch to Tottenham.

Spurs are in talks with Semenyo’s representatives and are confident of striking a deal, although it remains to be seen if they meet Bournemouth’s valuation of £60m for the winger.

Tottenham’s dual approach to sign a right-winger as well as a left-winger in the summer transfer window underscores their intent to build depth and versatility in wide areas, with Frank aiming to create a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.

Man Utd ready new Bryan Mbeumo bid after ally plays key role - TEAMtalk
Description

Manchester United are ready to return with a new offer for Bryan Mbeumo after the transfer was helped by one of their current players, according to reports.

Man Utd made Matheus Cunha their first summer signing by triggering his £62.5million release clause at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Brazilian has penned an initial five-year contract with United and will be followed to Old Trafford by another No 10 this summer, most likely Mbeumo.

Ruben Amorim has identified Mbeumo as his ideal target for the right-sided No 10 position after being dazzled by his exceptional campaign with Brentford.

United started the bidding for the versatile forward at £55million, made up of an initial £45m payment and £10m in add-ons.

However, this was rejected as Brentford want at least £60m for their star attacker, and potentially as much as £70m.

It was claimed on June 6 that United had upped their offer to over £60m, but that report seems to have jumped the gun somewhat.

There has since been a twist in the transfer saga as Thomas Frank has left Brentford to become the new Tottenham Hotspur boss, and he wants Mbeumo to follow him to north London.

According to the latest from Sky Sports, United are ‘aware’ of Spurs’ interest in the 25-year-old but are ‘relaxed’ about the situation.

While Spurs have held ‘initial talks’ over the deal and Mbeumo is ‘intrigued’ by a reunion with Frank, United remain in pole position as he is ‘leaning towards’ a switch to Old Trafford.

This comes after TEAMtalk revealed on Monday that Mbeumo has made it clear he wants to join United this summer, forcing Spurs to pursue an alternative Premier League ace.

Sky Sports add that United are now ready to increase their bid for Mbeumo to £60m or more, which could get the deal done.

United nearing Bryan Mbeumo coup

Brentford are ‘willing to listen to offers’ for Mbeumo – who netted 20 Premier League goals in the 2024-25 season – as they know he would like to test himself out at a higher level.

Crucially, though, Brentford will only sell once they feel an appropriate bid has come in, and they will not let Mbeumo leave for less than £60m.

The MEN revealed on Monday that goalkeeper Andre Onana has helped United’s move for Mbeumo.

He has ‘advised Mbeumo to join Manchester United’. Onana ‘played a role in swaying Cameroon teammate Mbeumo’ to snub Spurs and prioritise a move to United.

As per Florian Plettenberg, United reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Mbeumo last week as the transfer edges closer.

Man Utd transfer news: Next target; Real Madrid claim

Once Mbeumo is signed, as is expected, United will target a new centre-forward as the final piece of their attacking jigsaw.

Amorim would love to reunite with his former Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres. But with Gyokeres preferring a move to Arsenal, United have entered talks for another fearsome goalscorer.

United have also received Real Madrid’s response after reportedly making an approach for a classy 25-year-old attacker.

Tottenham transfer news: Fabio Paratici masterclass behind another sublime Serie A swoop

Tottenham transfers: Fabio Paratici picks out another sublime Serie A signing - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly pressing ahead with a move for another impressive Serie A talent, as the club prepares for the return of former sporting director and transfer guru Fabio Paratici.

The Italian’s two-and-a-half-year Fifa ban for alleged financial irregularities dating back to his spell at Juventus is due to end in July, with Paratici poised to return to north London and take up a new role as soon as he officially can.

The 52-year-old has played his part in bringing a number of players to Tottenham from his homeland over the years, most of which had proved to be a major sucess.

Indeed, the likes of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Destiny Udogie and Gugliemo Vicario were all brought to the club from Italy under the guidance of Paratici.

And it now appears that another impressive Serie A talent could be Spurs bound in the shape of Lazio centre-back Mario Gila, although they will have some major rivals to deal with to win that particular race.

While TEAMtalk have previously revealed Chelsea’s firm interest in the player, a fresh report from Italy has named Tottenham among a list of illustrious suitors for the 24-year-old talent.

Indeed, Il Messaggero states that PSG and Real Madrid have also targeted a player who has come on leaps and bounds over the last couple of seasons.

Tottenham’s interest in bringing in another quality central defender is no great surprise given Romero’s reported desire to join Atletico Madrid this summer.

The Argentine is unhappy at the club’s decision to sack Ange Postecoglou, as was evidenced by the timing of his tweet on the matter, which came straight after the announcement of Thomas Frank as the Australian’s successor.

To that end, it’s very likely that Paratici has used his extensive knowledge of Italian football to single out the impressive Gila as a suitable alternative to the World Cup winner.

Gila price tag set amid Tottenham links

Both Chelsea and Bournemouth have already signalled their interest in the Lazio man and have had offers already turned down.

Indeed, it’s been reported that the Cherries made a proposal of €40m (£34m), while the Blues offered €35m (£30m) for the Spaniard.

Both of those offers were knocked back due to Maurizio Sarri’s return to the club, with the Italian coach making it clear that he wants to keep Gila on board.

The 66-year-old has reportedly told the Rome-based outfit that he intends to fix the minor ‘flaws’ in Gila’s game and has urged them not to sell the player as a result.

However, it’s thought that a bid in the region €50m (£42.5m) would be hard for Lazio to turn down for the former Real Madrid academy graduate.

The former Spain Under-21 international, who is under contract until 2027, made 43 appearances in all competitions for Lazio during the 2024/25 campaign, scoring twice.

Bryan Mbeumo: Andre Onana role in Man Utd transfer revealed as Spurs learn fate

Andre Onana convinces mini-Salah ‘to join Man Utd’ in huge deal this summer - TEAMtalk
Description

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has reportedly ‘advised’ Bryan Mbeumo to move to Old Trafford and ignore overtures from rival suitors Tottenham Hotspur, and with the star having been compared to Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

The 2024/25 campaign was hugely disappointing for Man Utd. The sacking of Erik ten Hag and the arrival of Ruben Amorim as the Man Utd manager was expected to propel the club to greater heights, but the Red Devils ended up 15th in the Premier League table and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.

Man Utd, though, are determined to bounce back and have already added Matheus Cunha to the squad from Wolves, with Amorim planning to play the Brazil international as one of his two number 10s.

TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, has reported that Man Utd are also in talks to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Sources have told TEAMtalk that despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Mbeumo prefers a move to Man Utd.

And with talks over a deal ongoing, the Manchester Evening News has now revealed the role that Onana has played in convincing the Brentford winger to switch to Old Trafford and ignore Spurs’ late attempts to hijack the deal.

Onana plays with the 25-year-old for Cameroon, and the goalkeeper has ‘advised Bryan Mbeumo to join Manchester United’.

‘Mbeumo wants to move to United despite late interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Onana played a role in swaying Cameroon teammate Mbeumo’, adds the report.

Mbeumo scored 20 goals and gave eight assists in 38 Premier League matches for Brentford last season, with former Tottenham centre-back Jason Cundy describing him as “a mini-Salah” on talkSPORT in May.

The Manchester Evening News has added that Onana himself is ‘expected’ to stay at Man Utd, with the Premier League club’s manager, Amorim, enjoying ‘a warm working relationship’ with the 29-year-old.

Onana, though, admitted last week that he does not know if he will be at Man Utd, with the Argentine press claiming that the Red Devils have made contact with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

What Man Utd and Tottenham target Mbeumo has said about his future

Mbeumo is fully aware of clubs chasing him, but the Brentford winger has kept his cards close to his chest.

The winger spoke to Sky Sports News over the weekend, and although he raved about new Tottenham manager Thomas Frank, the Cameroon international did not publicly reveal whether he wants to work with the former Brentford boss at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or make the switch to Man Utd and play under Amorim.

Mbeumo said: “It (transfer speculation) is a bit new for me I would say!

“I think it can be the life of a footballer and you need to accept it.”

The winger added: “It’s been my best season so far in the Premier League.

“And even collectively, I think we did play very good games. I think we’ve been unlucky to chase the Europe spot, but I think it’s been a fantastic season.”

Mbeumo said about Frank: “He’s done so much for me. He literally trusted me from the start. I think he developed the team so well.

“He developed me as a human and a player as well. So I can only wish him all the best, and I’m sure he’s going to do well.

“I think he knows everything. He’s really smart. He knows where he wants to bring the team, how he wants to play. I think he’s been fantastic for Brentford.

“I think he’s going to have some time to adapt, obviously. [Champions League] games, more expectations, as you said, but I’m sure he’s going to do well.

“He knows how to talk to people. He knows how to build a group. And that’s why we’ve been playing so well.”

Latest Man Utd news: Gyokeres salary, Inter Milan talks

Viktor Gyokeres has been offered a huge salary after snubbing the chance to move to Man Utd, according to the Italian press.

Man Utd are ready to make a move for a £85million striker, according to reports in Germany.

Meanwhile, Man Utd and Inter Milan are in talks over an unhappy star to move to the Champions League finalists.
