Ange Postecoglou may have been managing his last game in charge of Tottenham as they lost 2-1 to Leicester City on Sunday – at least, that’s what one pundit thinks should be the case.

Leicester went into the game on the back of seven defeats in a row, but they came from behind against Tottenham to move just two places behind them in the table.

Spurs remain without a win in the Premier League in 2025 and the pressure is ramping up on Postecoglou. And passionate Spurs pundit Jamie O’Hara believes this could be the nail in the coffin for the manager.

Asked on Sky Sports News if this was the end of Postecoglou’s reign just before full time, O’Hara replied: “Maybe. I mean, this is unacceptable, the performance in the second half has been nowhere near good enough.

“I would love to say it’s been an onslaught and two goals conceded early on and Spurs have come out and tried to win a game, but they haven’t really done anything.

“Leicester keeper’s had nothing to do. No real clear cut chances, terrible performance again.

“I said in the first half, Tottenham weren’t great, they were a bit flat. Richarlison gets on the end of a great cross, but apart from that, they didn’t really do anything.

“Over the course of the 90 minutes, it’s been a really, really bad performance.

“I don’t know how Ange can keep losing games and keep his job.

“At the moment, this is nowhere near good enough and we could be looking at Postecoglou’s last game.”

And although the Australian tactician has blamed injuries for Spurs’ struggles, O’Hara insists he is in an untenable position which has been of his own doing too.

“I’ve never seen a team give the ball away so much in my life, it’s unbelievable,” O’Hara added.

“Lack of ideas, lack of quality, lack of creativity, been a terrible performance. The Leicester goalkeeper can’t believe his luck.

“I’m really starting to believe that Ange might have to go.

“13 games now that Spurs have lost in the Premier League. It’s unacceptable. You can’t lose that many games, I know there’s injuries, I understand that, there’s a bit of a crisis – to lose 13 games as the Tottenham manager is unacceptable.”

Postecoglou ‘inquest’ needed

Once the game was over, O’Hara was firing on all cylinders about what change is needed at Tottenham.

“That is a disgraceful performance, pathetic second half. An inquest needs to be had into what Ange was telling them at half time,” O’Hara argued. “They were 1-0 up. Keep the game tight.

“To come out and play like we did in the second half, it was just desperation after that.

“It was one of the worst performances I’ve seen, again. Another shocking result, another shocking performance.

“I don’t know how Ange can stay in a job. I don’t know what needs to happen and I don’t know what happens at the top with Daniel Levy.

“It’s the 26th of January and we’ve signed one player and he’s a goalkeeper who’s going to end up being no.2 to Vicario when he comes back. Sign some players!”

Postecoglou’s in-game management came under intense scrutiny too, even with the lack of players available.

“You’ve still got good enough players on the pitch to win at home to Leicester today,” O’Hara continued.

“There was a lack of creativity, a lack of drive, a lack of ideas. The substitutions were a bit strange. He took Richarlison off, maybe he looked at the minutes he’s played. You’re fighting for your life, 2-1 down. You have to say, ‘listen, Richarlison, I need you on the pitch for another 10 minutes because I need to get some more attacking players on’.

“Ange Postecoglou is out of his depth. Man-management, in-game management not good enough today. Running out of ideas. He tried to change the tactics against Everton last week, we were 3-0 down at half time. We go 2-1 down to Leicester and I don’t see a change in the way that we play. I don’t see a change in the way we do things. Miles off it, all of them.

“Ange Postecoglou’s in-game management and his tactics after going 2-1 down were non-existent. It’s nowhere near good enough.”

Mourinho, Conte comparisons made

Spurs have sacked some high-profile managers in recent years, including Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte – which makes it even more baffling for O’Hara that Postecoglou hasn’t been relieved of his duties yet.

“You’ve got a manager in Ange Postecoglou who’s so stubborn and won’t change the way he plays, he’s got no plan B, he’s got no plan C. He won’t change the way he wants to play. They’ve run out of ideas,” the former midfielder continued.

“Spurs have run out of ideas because they only know one way to play. He hasn’t got an idea of how to get it done.

“They’re in a relegation fight. I’m telling you now. Teams are picking up underneath them. Every team around them, if you look at it: West Ham sacked their manager, Everton sacked their manager, Man Utd sacked their manager, Wolves sacked their manager.

“You have to be realistic. One win in 11. 13 defeats in the Premier League. Unacceptable. Spurs are in a relegation fight and they need to buck up their ideas, sign some good players quickly and make a decision on what you’re doing with Ange Postecoglou, because at the moment, what he’s giving out isn’t good enough.

“I know there’s injuries, and I know there’s problems, but that is unacceptable. You can’t lose 13 games in the Premier League as the Spurs manager.

“I know you’ve got the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg, against Liverpool who are by far the best team in Europe at the moment, and you’re clinging onto hope that we might get to a final, and Ange gives it all, ‘we win a trophy in my second season’.

“Do me a favour. You’re the Spurs manager, you’re 15th in the table, you’ve lost 13 games. That’s not acceptable.

“Any other manager, Harry Redknapp, Juande Ramos, all these managers, Pochettino, Conte, Mourinho, if they were 15th in the table, as Spurs manager, they would be out the door, gone, see you later. Why’s Ange getting a pass? I don’t get it.

“Who cares about attacking football, who cares? You’ve got to be organised.

“We all want to watch entertaining football. You also want to see your team win. You also want to see your team up the table fighting for European spots.”

Have Spurs improved at all?

Postecoglou’s style of play produced a lack of discipline among the Spurs players on the pitch, according to O’Hara.

“Spurs, every time they went forward, they looked like Leicester could score,” he added. “They’ve got no discipline, no desire to defend and keep the ball out of the back of their net, and that for me is a huge problem, and Ange Postecoglou has to put it down to the fact that that is his idea.”

And when he was reminded that Postecoglou claims Spurs have improved under him, a befuddled O’Hara replied: “I don’t know what he means by that, what’s he improved? The ground’s the ground, the training ground’s the training ground, have better players come in? Improvement on what?

“Spurs weren’t great anyway. They were bang average in the first place. They were bad when he came in, they’re worse now.

“Conte got the sack because they wanted to be in the Champions League. Spurs are 15th in the table.”

Tottenham legend Chris Waddle has hit out at the body language of a top Spurs star and claims it’s obvious that he is looking for a way out of the club.

Ange Postecoglou has been missing a number of his key players throughout the season, with the back four hit particularly hard by the club’s current injury curse.

As well as No.1 keeper Guglielmo Vicario, first-choice centre-back pairing Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been missing for a number of weeks and Waddle is convinced that Argentine Romero now has his eyes firmly locked elsewhere.

When fully fit, the World Cup winner remains one of the top defensive talents in the Premier League and is one of the few actual leaders in a young Tottenham changing room.

The fact that he is back in training is a massive boost for Spurs and Postecoglou, but it remains to be just how much longer the 26-year-old actually remains in north London.

It’s been indicated over recent months that Tottenham have reached out to Romero’s camp about penning a lucrative new deal, but the defender is hesitant to sign up while there is no guarantee of Champions League football next season. In fact, Spurs’ only hope of getting in the competition now rests with them winning the Europa League.

It’s no secret that Real Madrid are big fans of Romero and have been for some time, and with the player out of contract in 18 months’ time their best chance of recouping a significant fee for his services will come this summer.

And Waddle believes that the Argentina international’s body language suggests that he does not want to extend his stay at the club.

The former Spurs and England winger told aceodds: “Romero is a good, old-fashioned centre-half who’s not afraid to leave his foot in. He’ll hit you if he has to hit you. He’s not afraid of a yellow card or a red.

“His body language after last season suggests he doesn’t really want to be at the club anymore.

“I think he believes he should be at Real Madrid or Barcelona. If he wants to go, it’s better for Tottenham to cash in and buy someone who wants to play for the club.”

Romero, Van de Ven closing in on return

Postecoglou spoke on Friday as to why Romero was able to be involved in training Wednesday morning but was still not ready to return against Leicester.

“We got him back training. Him and Micky [van de Ven] are the next cabs off the rank in terms of the long-term ones. They’ve still got a bit to do in terms of getting some training into them with the team,” said Postecoglou.

“Obviously we haven’t been training a lot and because the other day was sort of low tempo session, it was just good to get him involved, not just for him but the players involved because they need a bit of help and encouragement and Cuti training with them gives them a big lift.

“Micky’s not too far away. These players will come back, knock on wood they’re not deceased, they’re just injured, so they will be all back so it’s not all doom and gloom.

“It’s good to see for the players as he’s joined in training the last couple of days but he’s still got a bit of work to do.”

Daniel Levy could leave Tottenham in the near future after the latest sale hint, according to reports that have emerged on the eve of the home Premier League clash with Leicester City.

The Spurs chairman has been the subject of intense criticism for a number of years in north London and that has been amplified by a disastrous Premier League so far for Ange Postecoglou’s men.

The Australian’s future is currently on a knife edge heading into the must-win Foxes clash, although Tottenham fans were venting the majority of anger at Levy after last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at Everton as Postecoglou and the players applauded them for their support.

Spurs have been devastated by injuries for the past couple of months, particularly defensively, while their approach over the summer of signing younger talents to replace experienced performers has also played a part in their struggles.

What looked like it might be a busy January, after the early addition of impressive young keeper Antonin Kinsky, has turned into a damp squib – with plenty of speculation over a striker signing in particular but zero action so far.

The 62-year-old Levy has held his post in N17 since 2001 and there can be little argument that the club has grown significantly in that time, despite not picking up any silverware in 17 years now.

And, despite sitting in a fancy new stadium for almost six years, it’s the latter fact that has irked Tottenham fans – who feel that there has not been enough investment in the first-team squad to end that trophy drought.

But despite Postecoglou’s struggles this season, to go along with some of his shortcomings, Spurs supporters have made it very clear who they would rather see leave.

And, in his Sun on Sunday column, journalist Phil Thomas has hinted that Levy could wave goodbye, writing: “At some point, there will be a sacrifice and at some point, we all know it will be Ange Postecoglou. Spurs fans can scream as loud as they like, it won’t be Daniel Levy.

“Unless someone waves a fat cheque under Levy’s nose, and watch this space for that down the line, he is going nowhere.”

The ‘watch this space’ line is certainly very interesting, given continued talk that Levy could sell up if the right offer was made for the club.

Qatari interest in Tottenham ‘real’

Meanwhile, former Everton chief Keith Wyness insists the Qatari state has a “real interest” in investment at Tottenham going forward.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 67-year-old claimed the state-backed Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) are a “good match” for Spurs.

It was widely reported last year that Levy has been in talks to sell a 10% stake in Tottenham that could value the club at up to £3.75billion.

Levy has held several rounds of talks with QSI president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who is also president at French giants PSG, over investment opportunities in recent years.

That relationship was reportedly renewed this month, when the Tottenham chief jetted out to Paris for in-person negotiations over a potential deal for striker Randal Kolo Muani.

And now Wyness has given his take on potential changes in N17, saying: “The talks between QSI and Spurs have been going on for years now. The first reports were three years ago, when they started discussing a potential deal.

“There’s no doubt there is real interest from Qatar. I think a London club like Spurs fit the profile, but the problem is with PSG and how they’d handle that with the Champions League rules. But at the moment, Spurs aren’t threatening to make the Champions League.

“Qatar like to invest in clubs with big assets, like the new stadium. I do think it would work. We might see something develop out of this.

“Nasser Al-Khelaifi is a very reasonable guy, I’ve met him a few times, and he understands that it will all depend on the QSI’s long-term strategy. But I think it’s a good match.”

Tottenham are reportedly edging closer to the signing of a new striker in the final weeks of the January transfer window, although it will not be a move that will particularly excite fans from north London.

Spurs were on the hunt for a new No.9 even before Dominic Solanke was ruled out for six weeks with a knee injury suffered in training, with the former Bournemouth man only notching seven times in the Premier League this season – although his all-round play has been impressive.

The likes of Liam Delap, Jonathan David and Santiago Gimenez have all been linked with moves to Tottenham, with TT previously reporting that Daniel Levy and co. are pushing hard to try and bring in Ipswich man Delap.

However, according to the print edition of Record, Spurs are edging closer to a deal for Ajax attacker Brian Brobbey ahead of the February 3 cut-off date for fresh additions.

The 22-year-old’s overall record of 52 goals and 26 assists in 148 games for the Dutch giants is decent, but digging deeper this season has been a real struggle for Brobbey.

The Netherlands international has scored three times in 29 appearances in all competitions this season but only once in 17 league outings for Ajax – not exactly the sort of goal output that Ange Postecoglou is looking for.

What’s more, Brobbey has only started twice in the Dutch Eredivisie, with the majority of his starts coming in the Europa League instead – a clear indication that Ajax are putting him in the shop window on the European stage.

Brobbey is currently under contract until 2027 and it’s reported Ajax are hoping to recoup around €30million (£25m / $31m) for his services, although a loan-to-buy scenario is more likely at this stage.

A product of Ajax’s famed youth academy, Brobbey has not yet filled his potential after making a memorable senior debut in 2020 with a goal against Fortuna Sittard.

After a brief stint with RB Leipzig in 2021, Brobbey returned to Ajax – first on loan and then on a permanent deal. He was certainly at his best last season, with the forward notching 18 goals and 10 assists in 30 Eredivisie games.

However, that momentum has not transferred to the current campaign for a player who still has a burgeoning reputation in European football.

West Ham, Roma also in Brobbey chase

Indeed, Tottenham are not the only club pursuing a deal for the Dutchman, with Premier League rivals West Ham and Italian outfit Roma also pursuing his signature.

The Hammers desperately need to bring in a new frontman due to injuries to central strikers Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug, while the main source of goals for Graham Potter’s men, Jarrod Bowen, is also on the sidelines.

Indeed, reports from the Netherlands suggest that West Ham have already offered a £100,000 per week contract to the forward to tempt him to move to the London Stadium.

Roma, meanwhile, are close to offloading backup striker, Eldor Shomurodov, who is expected to join relegation-threatened Venezia imminently.

And with main frontman Artem Dovbyk still splitting opinion, they want a better rotational option for him.

The Italian giants also have a potential advantage over a deal for Brobbey, having already done business once with Ajax this month for new right-back Devyne Rensch.

Tottenham face Jonathan David blow

While Gimenez is a long-term target for Spurs, the Premier League club are not putting all their eggs in one basket.

Tottenham are interested in Jonathan David as well. The Canada international striker is out of contract at Lille at the end of the season.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has said that while Lille would be open to cashing in on David in January, the striker himself would prefer to wait until the summer of 2025 to assess all his options as a free agent.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “They like Liam Delap, but probably more a summer saga, as Chelsea are going to find as well.

“Jonathan David is being considered, it’s not impossible that for a relatively nominal fee, a sale could happen mid season, but I think that’s more the Lille perspective.

“Whereas David feels like he should wait until the summer, know exactly what kind of European or Champions League football his suitors have got, and then, as a free agent, he can get a much better deal.

“So I think David could be a roadblock to anything happening now, whereas Lille might be a bit more open to the situation.”

Latest Tottenham news: Gomes boost, potential Semenyo bid

Tottenham believe that Angel Gomes would love to join them over other clubs such as Manchester United.

Man Utd are keen on bringing Gomes to Old Trafford, while West Ham have also made an offer to the 24-year-old England international midfielder, who has been on the books of Lille since 2020 following his departure from Old Trafford.

However, Spurs reportedly believe that they are in the driving seat and are confident that Gomes wants to move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham are also monitoring Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. Arsenal, Newcastle United and Chelsea are reported to be interested in the winger too.

While Liverpool have already in touch over a deal for Semenyo, Tottenham are waiting in the shadows and could make a bid for him in the final days of the January transfer window depending on how the situation evolves.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are trying to sign Brian Brobbey from Ajax. West Ham United are already in contact over a move for the striker, but Spurs are now planning to hijack the move.

Tottenham believe an England international certain to be on the move next summer has chosen Spurs instead of signing for Manchester United or West Ham.

The 24-year-old racked up four caps for England last year after finishing the 2023/24 season as Ligue 1’s joint-top assist provider with eight.

As such, clubs outside of France are free to forge a pre-contract agreement with Gomes who has now entered the final six months of his deal.

Man Utd have been linked with bringing Gomes back to Old Trafford by numerous outlets. But according to GiveMeSport, Gomes actually favours signing with Tottenham instead.

Perhaps with that in mind, it’s noted Man Utd have so far ‘stopped short’ of putting an offer to their former star.

West Ham – who have made Gomes an offer – have also been marginalised.

‘The Lille star is keen to embark on a fresh challenge at Hotspur Way instead of the London Stadium or Old Trafford,’ stated the report.

That has come as a major boost to Tottenham who are said to possess ‘growing confidence’ of striking a deal.

Accordingly, and with Gomes believed to want Spurs as much as Spurs want Gomes, the club are ‘putting together a proposal’ to seal a deal.

No transfer fee, but high wages

As mentioned, a pre-contract agreement would result in Gomes arriving at Tottenham next summer and not in the January window.

That will allow Tottenham to avoid having to pay a transfer fee for a player who would not come cheaply were his contract not running down.

However, given the mass interest in Gomes – GMS named Bundesliga trio Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig as sniffing around a deal too – Tottenham may have to go above and beyond in the salary stakes.

The report concluded Gomes ‘could seek a major wage increase to in the region of £150,000-per-week’ in an effort to capitalise on the widespread interest.

Man Utd are expected to be on the hunt for new central midfielders in the summer, though may have to look beyond Gomes.

Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo will be at the club for the long haul. Casemiro is up for sale, while Christian Eriksen is out of contract in the summer and won’t be offered a new deal.

Youngster Toby Collyer could come to the fore as the season rolls on after an encouraging showing last time out against Rangers.

In other news, Sky Germany have confirmed Man Utd and Chelsea are in ‘direct contact’ for a blockbuster swap involving Alejandro Garnacho and Christopher Nkunku.

Both players are open to leaving their current sides are there is only a small discrepancy in each club’s respective valuation of their player.

Elsewhere, talkSPORT host, Jason Cundy, has remarkably claimed Man Utd would struggle to pip Celtic to the SPL title if playing in Scotland.

On the back of Man Utd labouring against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday, Cundy said: “Terrible, terrible football. What have I just watched?

Cundy continued: “Based on what I’m looking at and the bits I’ve seen from Celtic, I don’t think United would beat them.

“So Rangers are some distance behind Celtic, right? There’s a chasm between them, and there’s another chasm between them and [Dundee United] who are third [in the Scottish Premiership].

“Man United, this is a side… There’s many reasons as to why United are where they are and how they are.

“But the goal that they conceded, what is Harry Maguire doing? Now, this is his position, this is where it suits him. It’s a long way, he sees it coming… it’s terrible defending. It’s a lovely finish with his laces right, but what is Maguire doing?”

Tottenham have joined West Ham in the race to sign Ajax striker Brian Brobbey and are reportedly pushing to sign him before the transfer deadline.

Spurs have had a dismal first half of the season and currently sit 15th in the Premier League table, although they’re still fighting for the League Cup, Europa League and FA Cup.

There is serious pressure on manager Ange Postecoglou but as we’ve previously reported, he retains the backing of the Tottenham board, who plan to back him in this month’s transfer window.

The London side have made just one senior signing so far – goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky – and now they’re looking to bring in a new striker in the wake of Dominic Solanke’s injury, which will keep him out for around six weeks.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are the latest side to express interest in signing Brobbey on a loan deal, but they’ll have to move quickly as West Ham are in ‘active talks’ to sign the Ajax striker.

“Understand Tottenham have also asked for Brian Brobbey loan deal conditions. He’s one of the options being considered while West Ham are already in direct talks with Ajax for loan + obligation,” Romano posted on X.

“West Ham remain in contact, Spurs also made an enquiry to be informed.”

Man Utd also interested in Brian Brobbey – report

Ajax are willing to loan Brobbey but only if the deal includes an obligation to buy. Reports from the Netherlands suggest that West Ham have already offered a £100,000 per week contract to the forward.

The Hammers’ are dealing with an injury crisis of their own, with Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug currently unavailable.

The race for Brobbey is expected to ramp up in the coming hours and days and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Interestingly, a report from GiveMeSport has claimed that Manchester United are ‘contemplating’ whether to try and ‘fight off the competition’ for Brobbey and make a move of their own.

The Red Devils signed Lisandro Martinez and Antony from the Eredivisie giants while Erik ten Hag was at the helm, with the latter completing a £86million switch in September 2022 in a move that hasn’t worked out.

Man Utd have a good relationship with Ajax but whether they choose to launch a concrete proposal for Brobbey still remains to be seen.

At this stage, Tottenham and West Ham are the only Premier League teams to have shown a firm interest in signing the 22-year-old.

Tottenham round-up: Tyler Dibling latest / Angel Gomes boost

Meanwhile, Tottenham are still pushing to sign Southampton winger Tyler Dibling this month but have been told they will have to fork out at least £55million to get their man.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Aston Villa are all monitoring the 18-year-old but the Saints have reportedly made it clear that any bids below £55m won’t be accepted.

Spurs are in a good position with regards to the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) but it remains to be seen whether they’ll go that high for Dibling.

In other news, Tottenham are monitoring Lille and England midfielder Angel Gomes and have reportedly received a boost in the pursuit of him.

It has been claimed that the 24-year-old is keen to embark on a fresh challenge in north London instead of making a return to other suitors Manchester United, for whom he previously played, or to West Ham.

Tottenham are sweating over the fitness of three key players ahead of Sunday’s must-win Premier League clash against struggling Leicester City after Ange Postecoglou confirmed yet another potential injury blow.

Right-back Djed Spence was ineligible to face Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday night and did not travel to Germany, but he remains a doubt after suffering a knock in the demoralising defeat to Everton last weekend.

Pape Sarr also picked up a knock at Goodison and missed the 3-2 win over the Bundesliga outfit, leaving him in a race to be fit for the weekend, while Yves Bissouma suffered a minor muscle strain in the defeat to Arsenal last week and remains a doubt for Tottenham.

Speaking ahead of the game, Postecoglou told reporters: “Djed’s still sore from the weekend, he got a knock so he’s a doubt. Pape’s still a doubt, Reggy [Sergio Reguilon] should be OK.

“We’ll see how we go [with Bissouma]. He’s definitely a doubt for Sunday but we’re hoping by Elfsborg [this Thursday] he could be right.”

The game will definitely come soon for centre-back Cristian Romero, who returned to training this week.

Asked if Romero could be in the matchday squad for Sunday, Postecoglou replied: “No. We got him back training. Him and Micky [van de Ven] are the next cabs off the rank in terms of the long-term ones.

“They’ve still got a bit to do in terms of getting some training into them with the team.

“Obviously we haven’t been training a lot and because the other day was sort of low tempo session, it was just good to get him involved, not just for him but the players involved because they need a bit of help and encouragement and Cuti training with them gives them a big lift.

“Micky’s not too far away. These players will come back, knock on wood they’re not deceased, they’re just injured, so they will be all back so it’s not all doom and gloom.

“It’s good to see for the players as he’s joined in training the last couple of days but he’s still got a bit of work to do.”

Postecoglou not taking Leicester lightly

Meanwhile, Postecoglou insists his side will not be taking Leicester lightly on Sunday, with the Foxes having lost seven games in a row.

Spurs have had plenty of issues against teams in the bottom half of the table, having gifted Ipswich and Crystal Palace their first wins of the campaign, to add to their loss at Everton in the league last time out.

And, speaking ahead of the Foxes clash, Postecoglou added: “It’ll be a tough game.

“They’re in a fight to stay in the Premier League and they’ll come and try and make it difficult for us.”

“But we are in our own tough moment in the league. Being at home will help us.

“With the crowd they can definitely give some energy to the players and hopefully with a really good atmosphere we can overcome the challenge.”

Tyler Dibling has been one of the few bright spots for Southampton in a real season of struggle, with the 18-year-old right-winger establishing himself as one of English football’s most exciting attacking prospects.

The Exeter-born youngster has scored twice in 20 Premier League outings has earned plenty of plaudits for the way he has taken to the English top flight, showing no fear, to encourage bigger clubs to make their moves as Southampton stare down the barrel of relegation.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Aston Villa are all being linked with the supremely talented teenager, with Ange Postecoglou eyeing attacking reinforcements after seeing his squad decimated by injuries over the last few months.

In terms of the wide talent currently missing, the standouts are Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner, although the latter is only on loan and will not be joining permanently in the summer if his form this season is anything to go by.

Spurs had been chasing a move for PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani but ended up missing out to Juventus for the French forward, while TT can confirm that Ipswich Town standout Liam Delap is also firmly on their radar.

However, Delap is a central striker and Postecoglou also wants another out-and-out wide man on board, with Dibling ticking a number of boxes for the Tottenham boss and also chairman Daniel Levy, given his age.

To that end, Sky Sports‘ Lyall Thomas has delivered an update on Dibling’s future, commenting on his X account: “Southampton would not entertain offers of any less than £55m at least for Tyler Dibling this month; as Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham all continue to monitor the 18yo’s progress.”

That £55m valuation might be a bit steep for a player who only made his senior debut exactly a year ago aged just 17, but Dibling’s potential is off the charts and he could end up being worth every penny in the long run.

The young forward also has two years remaining on his contract, leaving Saints in a strong position to negotiate the fee they want, while they could also benefit from a bidding war ensuing between interested clubs.

Spurs are also no strangers to signing up teenage talent, having brought in Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall last summer – both of whom have had plenty of game time this term due to the injury crisis in N17.

RB Leipzig ones to watch in Dibling chase

One team we didn’t mention above who also have a firm interest in signing Dibling is German side RB Leipzig.

As per a report from the Daily Mail, Dibling has not ruled out going abroad at this stage of his career for more game time at a prestigious club.

He knows that a move to Leipzig or Borussia Dortmund gives him more chances to shine, compared to signing for Tottenham where he would join a plethora of wide options.

A tweet from SaintsExtra appeared to back up a potential move to Leipzig, stating: “RB Leipzig will ‘do everything possible’ to sign Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, & after initial talks, they have the impression that he is open to a move to the Bundesliga — Tottenham are also in ‘very concrete talks’ with his representatives”.

Leipzig are currently firmly in the mix to finish in the Champions League places in Germany, with Tottenham miles off the pace in their bid to quality for Europe next season.

Indeed, their best shot at getting in the Champions League is by winning the Europa League this term, while triumphing in the Carabao Cup would only earn them a Conference League spot.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly have to pay £10million in compensation if they choose to try and replace under-pressure boss Ange Postecoglou with a rival Premier League manager.

Despite a win in the Europa League at Hoffenheim on Thursday that puts Spurs in pole position to qualify for the knockout stages, Postecoglou remains in trouble given the club’s woeful Premier League form.

One win in their last 10 outings sees Tottenham currently sitting 15th in the table, just eight points above the drop zone as they prepare to take on 19th-placed Leicester on Sunday in what is now a must-win game for Postecoglou.

As we’ve previously reported, former Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic, Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Bournemouth chief Andoni Iraola are all on the club’s shortlist if they do decide to end Postecoglou’s tenure.

However, former Spurs scout Bryan King, speaking to Tottenham News, would be surprised to see the latter move to north London given the job he is currently doing on the south coast – especially given the compensation it would cost his old club.

“It would cost Spurs £10m to go and get Iraola,” King said.

“However, Bournemouth are in a good position. Therefore, why would you want to disrupt your club just because a big club are in trouble? If Spurs are going to bring in a new manager, I think it would need to be someone from outside of the Premier League.”

TT have been told that Postecoglou still has the backing of Daniel Levy and the board, given the ridiculous injury crisis, although results need to improve domestically to stay in his current role.

Tottenham have a massive few weeks coming up as they look to book a place in the Carabao Cup final, as well as passage to the Europa knockout phase.

Following the Leicester clash, Premier League games against Brentford, Manchester United, Ipswich and Manchester City could shape whether they end up in a proper relegation battle or start pushing for a top-half finish.

Postecoglou blamed for struggles as Levy defended

Meanwhile, former Tottenham chief executive Claude Littner has revealed why he thinks Danel Levy is not the man to blame for the club’s struggles this season and that the buck should squarely sit with Postecoglou.

A section of Spurs fans have been calling for Levy’s exit for some time and were particularly vocal at the end of last weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.

Littner was recently interacting with a number of Spurs supporters on X, with many of the conversations revolving around Levy’s running of the club and how the squad is built.

During Tottenham’s defeat to Everton, one fan asked Littner to ‘have a word with Levy and tell him to fire Ange’. Littner responded with ‘he knows’, indicating that the Tottenham chairman appears to have lost faith in the Australian.

When another supporter suggested Levy was equally responsible for Tottenham’s failings, Littner offered a strong statement in support of the 62-year-old.

Posting on his X account, he wrote: “I do not see Daniel as part of the problem. He has put Spurs in a very firm financial position. We now need a manager with the experience and know-how to overcome our shortcomings and challenge for Honours.”
