Transfer news LIVE!

Arsenal are said to have launched a move for Fabian Ruiz as they look to ramp up their summer transfer business. The Gunners are rumoured to have started talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the midfielder, who thrived during Spain’s victorious run at Euro 2024. Riccardo Calafiori is undergoing a medical ahead of his £40million switch to Arsenal, who are preparing to sell Emile Smith Rowe to London rivals Fulham, where he will join Ryan Sessegnon.

Chelsea are looking to wrap up a swift deal for Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, while a swap arrangement has also been mooted with Real Madrid involving Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Tottenham have sealed the signing of Yang Min-hyuk, while Manchester United may turn to Morten Hjulmand as an alternative to Manuel Ugarte as they also chase the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite and Matthijs de Ligt and decide whether or not secure the return of Sofyan Amrabat.

Liverpool have been linked with an audacious shock offer for Arda Guler as they also target Takefusa Kubo, while Crystal Palace are signing Ismaila Sarr and West Ham have made moves for both Jhon Duran and Noussair Mazraoui. Follow all the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip live below!

Man United face Manuel Ugarte and Morten Hjulmand price issues

Manchester United might be priced out of moves for both Manuel Ugarte and Morten Hjulmand this summer.

The Red Devils’ reluctance to meet PSG’s €70m asking price for Uruguay midfielder Ugarte has seen them consider Hjulmand as a possible alternative, according to speculation earlier this week.

However, Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha now claim that Sporting CP will only allow the Denmark international to leave if his €80m release clause is met in full.

Tottenham have reached a full agreement over the signing of Yang Min-hyuk.

Reports first emerged last night that Spurs were close to securing a deal for the South Korean teenager, who will be immediately loaned back to current club Gangwon FC.

Fabrizio Romano has now given the deal the full ‘here we go’ treatment, with the player set to undergo a medical and sign a long-term contract with Spurs.

The 18-year-old winger will head to north London on a full-time basis in January 2025, after the conclusion of the K League season.

West Ham pushing for Jhon Duran

West Ham have submitted a cash-plus-player offer for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran

The 20-year-old is valued at £40m by Villa, with the Hammers’ latest bid coming close to that.

Man United patient in Ugarte pursuit

Manchester United are willing to wait to land Manuel Ugarte.

It has already been a busy summer for United, with Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro brought in early in the window.

PSG’s Ugarte is seemingly next on the wishlist, but United are currently unwilling to meet the £70m valuation for the midfielder.

GiveMeSport report that United believe PSG will drop that asking price as the summer goes on, particularly with Ugarte said to be keen on the move, and so are not in a rush to reach an agreement.

Arsenal target Spain star Ruiz

Fabian Ruiz has reportedly emerged as a target for Arsenal.

The Gunners are expected to strengthen in midfield this season, and Mikel Merino has been strongly linked with a move to north London.

However, Merino’s Spain team-mate Ruiz is now also on the shortlist, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

Brentford suffer early Thiago blow

Brentford have confirmed Igor Thiago suffered a meniscus injury on his first appearance for the club.

The 23-year-old featured for the Bees against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday and scored twice in the 5-2 win, but he now faces a spell on the sidelines in a major blow to Thomas Frank’s side.

Thiago will have further scans next week to determine the severity of the injury, having already been ruled out of Thursday night’s friendly against Benfica.

Brentford signed the Brazilian in February for £30million, with the Brazilian then finishing the season with Club Brugge before joining up with his new club this summer.

Speaking last month, Frank named Thiago as the man to step up and replace Ivan Toney, should the England forward leave Brentford before the end of the window.

“Of course, we plan and then other things can happen,” Frank said.

“Maybe we are selling a player but we are prepared for that. It’s no secret that there’s lots of rumours about Ivan. If he is leaving us — and I’d still like to keep him, he’s a top player — this time we are prepared and brought in Igor Thiago.”

Chelsea in Lunin talks

Chelsea are believed to be closing in on the signing of Filip Jorgensen, but Andriy Lunin is reportedly still an option.

According to Spanish outlet Diario AS, Real Madrid are willing to sell Lunin, and are in talks with Chelsea over a possible move.

It would see Lunin join the Blues in exchange for Kepa Arrizabalaga and a sum of money.

Getty Images

Arsenal ready to turn to Mikel Merino

With Riccardo Calafiori’s medical booked and a deal close to completion, Arsenal are now turning their focus to other transfer targets.

The Bologna defender is on the verge of sealing his move to the Gunners, after a final agreement was reached.

The Guardian report that Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino is one of those who could now be pursued, with previous links suggesting a £25m offer could be enough.

Branthwaite makes stance clear amid Man United interest

Jarrad Branthwaite will not sign a new Everton contract unless they match Man United’s offer.

United had an offer of £45m plus £5m in add-ons rejected earlier this summer, with the Toffees holding out for at least £70m for their centre-back.

However, while Everton are pushing for Branthwaite to sign a new contract, the Daily Mail report that he will only do so if they table a deal similar to United’s contract offer of £160,000-a-week.

The forward spent last season on loan at Barcelona, having forced through a move away from Atletico Madrid, but the club are not expected to make that a permanent deal.

Sky Sports report that Villa are in the market for a player like Felix, with Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso also on the shortlist.

Arsenal lead race for Mikel Merino despite Chelsea interest

Arsenal are leading the race to sign Mikel Merino, despite Chelsea’s interest in hijacking the move.

San Sebastian newspaper Noticias de Gipuzkoa report on the Real Sociedad midfielder already having one foot out the door of the LaLiga club.

An official offer from the Gunners has not yet landed but is expected once Riccardo Calafiori’s arrival from Bologna is sealed.

La Real are said to be prepared to accept a cut-price sale due to Merino’s contract expiring in 2025 and previous reports indicate a valuation of around £20m.

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are also keen but Real Sociedad don’t want to sell two star players to Atleti, having already sanctioned Robin Le Normand’s move, and Barcelona may have to sell a first-choice player such as Frenkie de Jong to raise the required funds.

Interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea has been dismissed as remote, as has Merino’s chances of renewing. The ball, it seems, is in Arsenal’s court.

Man Utd discover Richard Rios transfer fee

Manchester United have learned the huge price tag on Richard Rios’ head.

The Colombia international has earned plenty of admiring glances for his displays at Copa America.

However, Rudy Galetti reports on Palmeiras wanting Rios’ full £84m release clause if he is to leave this summer.

The Brazilian club are said to want to keep Rios until at least the end of their season before cashing in on the 24-year-old, who is under contract for another two-and-a-half years.

Celtic update on Liverpool target

Brendan Rodgers has admitted that every player has their price amid interest in Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley.

The Hoops have reportedly turned down two bids from Atalanta for the 23-year-old Denmark international, who moved to Parkhead from MK Dons two-and-a-half years ago. Liverpool have also been linked with a £26million price tag reportedly set.

"Matt's been at the club for three years. He's developed into the player he has and he knows the privilege it is to play for Celtic,” he said. "Of course, naturally, how it works is the player gets that opportunity to move on.

"Celtic is a club where you can move on but you don't have to and it's a very difficult club to move on from. Naturally with the wages that are on offer for players, then that makes it a real challenge for Celtic to compete at that level.

"But what I've seen with Matt is he's a first-class professional. He's a really humble guy who's very devoted to his profession and he knows what he has here so we're all quite relaxed with it.

"Every player has a value but we see him as a really important player for us and whilst he is here, we'll continue to develop him and help him improve."

Pep Guardiola dismisses Kevin De Bruyne exit talk

Pep Guardiola has said Kevin De Bruyne "isn't leaving" Manchester City this season, despite reports linking the playmaker with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad have reportedly offered the player a £59million annual salary, with De Bruyne - who has a year remaining on his current City deal - last month admitting he has been discussing the future with his wife Michele.

However, speaking ahead of Manchester City's friendly against Celtic in North Carolina, Manchester City manager Guardiola told reporters the 33-year-old "isn't leaving".

"If someone leaves, we're going to talk about that," he said.

"Of course, until the last day, we have chances [to make transfers], I don't rule it out the option to have new players but I think there is an 85-90 per cent chance we will have the same squad.

"I feel comfortable, because the quality of human beings we have in the squad is difficult to be replaced, and the quality is there.

"But we'll see, I don't know in the last moment if someone comes for some players and they leave, we're going to decide."
