Transfer news LIVE!

Arsenal have received a huge boost over Victor Osimhen as they look to make a massive new striker signing this summer. The Gunners are also believed to be chasing Viktor Gyokeres after missing out on Benjamin Sesko, with Johan Bakayoko, Joshua Kimmich and Mikel Merino also on Mikel Arteta’s transfer radar, while Neymar has even been encouraged to make the move to north London.

Chelsea could rival Arsenal for the signing of Newcastle star Alexander Isak after initial talks, with Marc Guiu and Omari Kellyman both set to arrive at Stamford Bridge. Nottingham Forest’s Murillo is another rumoured Blues target, plus the likes of Nico Williams and Ademola Lookman. They are also trying to sign Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors. Tottenham have seen an opening offer for Jacob Ramsey rejected by Aston Villa, with Sebastian Szymanski and Michael Kayode also said to be on the list of Spurs targets.

Latest transfer news and rumours

Chelsea and Liverpool sent message over Khvicha Kvaratskhelia deal

Chelsea and Liverpool face a real battle to try and sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this summer.

The 23-year-old winger is currently one of European football’s hottest properties and last night helped Georgia to a famous 2-0 win over fancied Portugal that sent them into the last 16 of Euro 2024, where they will face Spain in Cologne on Sunday night.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Manchester City are among just some of the clubs to be linked so far with Kvaratskhelia, whom Napoli insist will not be going anywhere in this transfer window.

“There are no problems with Kvara because we have a contract,” club president Aurelio De Laurentiis said.

“We’ll make an offer for a new deal, so I see no problems for him. That being said, somebody can even offer contracts to the players without the club’s authorisation.”

New manager Antonio Conte added: “He’ll stay. I feel no doubts. I repeat, there is no need to have them. I have been very categorical about this.

“I wouldn’t even want this refrain to happen again in the future. The president gave this wonderful news.

“Kvaratskhelia is the type of player who there are fewer and fewer with these characteristics, which is why it’s not a whim to want to keep Kvara, I consider him a really strong player.”

Chelsea 'offer two players' to Nottingham Forest in Murillo move

It is apparently not just Alexander Isak who is now firmly on Chelsea’s transfer radar, with reports claiming they have also made a move for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.

Despite signing Tosin Adarabioyo after his Fulham contract expired and pursuing Aaron Anselmino at Boca Juniors, it seems the Blues are after yet more centre-back options after the recent departure of veteran leader Thiago Silva to Fluminense.

UOL in Brazil claim that Chelsea have begun talks over Silva’s compatriot Murillo, with two players potentially set to head in the opposite direction.

It is thought that Forest could demand £50m for a player they only signed for £15m from Corinthians last summer, with Atletico Madrid also rumoured to be keen on a deal.

Man Utd face fight to keep Alejandro Garnacho amid Saudi interest

Manchester United could face a real fight to keep hold of Alejandro Garnacho this summer.

Though the club are willing to listen to offers for many of their first-team squad amid an expected summer overhaul at Old Trafford, it was thought the Argentine winger was essentially one of those off limits.

However, Alkass TV Sports claims that there is strong Saudi Arabian interest now developing in Garnacho, with Al-Hilal said to be pondering a massive bid for his services.

AP

Tottenham make opening bid for Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey

Tottenham have reportedly seen an offer for Jacob Ramsey rejected by Aston Villa.

Champions League-bound Villa are in the process of selling a few academy graduates ahead of the Premier League’s upcoming profit and sustainability rules (PSR) deadline, with Tim Iroegbunam having already joined Everton as Omari Kellyman prepares to head to Chelsea.

Lewis Dobbin and Ian Maatsen have both headed the other way, meanwhile.

Villa are also set to sign Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea as part of a deal to sell Douglas Luiz to Juventus, but it seems that they are not willing to offload fellow midfielder Ramsey yet.

The Times report that Spurs have seen an initial £20m bid for the 23-year-old rebuffed by Villa, who value him at between £40m-£50m.

Tottenham’s offer would have apparently seen Giovani Lo Celso head to Villa Park.

Chelsea learn Alexander Isak price tag after talks held

Chelsea or Arsenal would have to spend an “astronomical” fee this summer in order to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle, reports claim.

Arsenal’s interest in the Swedish striker has been well-established for some time now, while Chelsea are now said to have held talks this week over a possible high-profile deal for his services.

But Newcastle do not want to sell Isak, with The Guardian reporting that they value their top marksman in excess of a whopping £115m.

Arsenal handed major new Victor Osimhen boost

Arsenal have been handed a major new boost in their bid to sign Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian international is believed to be high on the list of summer targets in north London as Mikel Arteta targets a splashy new signing up front to propel another Premier League title charge next season.

Now Arsenal have been handed a real incentive after new Napoli boss Antonio Conte appeared to admit there was still a pre-existing agreement for Osimhen to move on in this transfer window.

“As far as Osimhen is concerned, just as I knew very well about the situation of Kvara, Di Lorenzo, Anguissa, Lobotka, on which I have placed an absolute veto,” Conte said.

“Having said that, I know what the situation is regarding Osimhen. I know that there are agreements, that it is a situation different from all the others. I can only assist.

“He is a player of the highest level, exceptional, but I cannot enter into any discussion because it is part of previous agreements which have been clearly stated to me.”

Victor Osimhen transfer update amid Arsenal and Chelsea links

Chelsea now expect to complete the £5million signing of Barcelona’s teenage striker Marc Guiu.

Tottenham will trigger Eberechi Eze release clause

Crystal Palace fear also losing Eberechi Eze this summer, with Tottenham seriously interested in the midfielder.

That's according to talkSPORT, who add that, like Michael Olise, Eze has a release clause of around £60m in his contract which Spurs will look to trigger.

Spurs first need to get a few players off of their wage bill, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Emerson Royal the most likely early departures from north London.

Arsenal now know exactly what they have to do to sign Viktor Gyokeres after talks with the £86million striker’s camp. A new forward is the key priority for the Gunners with Victor Osimhen and Serhou Guirassy also on their radar, plus Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich.

Chelsea are another team keen to improve their frontline having signed Estevao William and they are reportedly a frontrunner to land Nico Williams from Athletic Club, along with Arsenal, having ended their interest in Stuttgart’s Guirassy. The Blues are sealing a deal to sign Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa with Ian Maatsen going in the opposite direction in something of a controversial move.

Manchester United continue to chase Leny Yoro alongside Liverpool and Real Madrid while also looking to bring back former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy as part of Erik ten Hag’s staff. Spurs striker plan

Santiago GImenez, Ivan Toney and Joshua Zirkzee are all NOT on Tottenham’s shortlist for the summer transfer window.

As reported by football.london, Spurs have compiled a shortlist of striker targets with a preference for young players.

One potential signing is £25m Lille forward Jonathan David whereas RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda, Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres and Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke - who holds a £65m release clause - are all said to be too expensive as things stand.

Chelsea end Victor Osimhen interest

Chelsea are no longer interested in signing Victor Osimhen.

Enzo Maresca is not keen on forking out the £109m required to sign the Napoli striker, according to Italian outlet Il Mattino.

The Nigerian’s high release clause means there is actually not a huge amount of interest in a summer deal despite early expectations he would leave.

It is claimed that Arsenal, PSG and Manchester United are the only clubs in the mix to sign Osimhen.

A move to Saudi Arabia is not being contemplated by the player.

Juventus want Arsenal man as Ricardo Calafiori alternative

Juventus are in talks to land Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report on the Italians enquiring about a potential loan deal and it remains to be seen if Arsenal are open to such a move.

In any case, Kiwior is Juve’s second choice signing at this time with Ricardo Calafiori their priority.

Bologna are said to be refusing to entertain offers for the central defender, who is also interesting Tottenham, Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Serhou Guirassy no longer a Chelsea target but Arsenal keen

Chelsea are out of the running to sign Serhou Guirassy.

The Stuttgart striker has told his current club that he wants to leave this summer after an impressive 30-goal haul in 2023-24.

A cheap £17.5m release clause has drawn plenty of interest but Bild say Chelsea have backed out to pursue other targets.

Borussia Dortmund appear to be the favourites to seal a deal with Arsenal and AC Milan also keen.

Man Utd make surprise swoop for former player

Ruud van Nistelrooy could make a surprise return to Manchester United.

The former striker left his role as PSV Eindhoven coach last year and is in talks to become Erik ten Hag’s assistant at Old Trafford.

The Telegraph say the negotiations are an offshoot to the discussions over Ten Hag’s contract extension, which are still yet to be finalised.

It is also said that a defensive midfielder, striker and at least one centre-back are on United’s transfer radar this summer.

Chelsea set for further Nico Williams talks

Chelsea are ready to battle Arsenal for Athletic Club star Nico Williams.

The Spain international has insisted he is not focused on a move away from Bilbao during Euro 2024 but CaughtOffside name a host of clubs keen on his signature.

The list features Barcelona, PSG, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester United and Man City.

Arsenal and Chelsea are described as frontrunners with the Blues set for further talks soon.

Williams is available for a £49m release clause.

Arsenal learn Viktor Gyokeres demands after talks

Arsenal know what they have to do to sign Viktor Gyokeres.

Rumours out of Portugal that they are on the verge of signing the Sporting CP striker are not quite on the money, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has detailed his view on the state of negotiations.

It is said that Arsenal made contact with Gyokeres’ camp in the spring to gauge their demands for personal terms, while it is known that he has an £86m release clause in his Sporting contract.

The ball is now in the Gunners’ court as they decide whether or not to press ahead with the deal. It is also claimed they may try to negotiate down his fee or offer a different structure to make it more affordable.

Official! Roberto De Zerbi to become Marseille manager

Roberto De Zerbi is set to become new Marseille head coach.

De Zerbi brought an end to two successful seasons with the Seagulls following their final Premier League match against Manchester United in May.

Marseille said in a statement: "Olympique de Marseille announces that it has reached an agreement in principle with Roberto De Zerbi.

"The club is currently working with all stakeholders to formalise the arrival of the Italian coach, as well as that of his staff, on the OM bench and prepare for his arrival in Marseille in the coming days."

De Zerbi replaces Jean-Louis Gasset, the last of three managers appointed by Marseille last season as they limped to a third-placed finish in the table.

The Italian made his name with Brighton after replacing Graham Potter in September 2022, leading them to their highest ever top-flight finish of sixth, and subsequently into the Europa League.

Ipswich eye Ben Johnson move

Ipswich are looking to sign West Ham defender Ben Johnson as a free agent.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of this month and he is not currently expected to agree new terms with the Hammers.

The Telegraph report that newly-promoted Ipswich are keen on Johnson, with Kieran McKenna hoping to persuade him to make the move to Portman Road.

Jack Harrison spent last term on loan at Everton from Leeds... and he’s going to do it all over again next season.

He said: “It’s brilliant to be back. Everton is a great club, there is a fantastic group of lads here and I'm excited to get started again with a full pre-season of training.

“Last year, I had a lot of enjoyment at the Club. We had to face a lot of adversity but we were able to continue on and have a good season overall.”

Transfer news LIVE!

Arsenal are looking to kick the summer window into high gear as they plot a potential big-money move for Bruno Guimaraes at Newcastle. The Gunners could also rival Tottenham for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, with Pedro Neto and Martin Zubimendi back on their radar amid links to a raft of possible new strikers including Victor Osimhen, Joshua Zirkzee and Santiago Gimenez.

Chelsea are still leading the race for Michael Olise despite Crystal Palace’s latest contract offer, while they may also increase their bid for Samu Omorodion and move for Aaron Anselmino amid more talks over Jhon Duran as Ian Maatsen prepares to join Aston Villa. Manchester United have West Ham’s Edson Alvarez in their transfer sights, while they could hijack the Duran deal as they try to agree the signings of Zirkzee and Jarrad Branthwaite having also opened negotiations over Jonathan David.

A Tottenham move for Weston McKennie has been ruled out, with rumours building over a swoop for Ivan Toney as they battle Liverpool for ‘new Sergio Ramos’ Riccardo Calafiori. West Ham are focusing on Max Kilman and could renew their interest in Youssef En-Nesyri, while Lazio, Juventus and Napoli are all said to be competing to sign Mason Greenwood. Man United make contact over Jonathan David deal

Manchester United reportedly have their sights set on Jonathan David as an alternative to Joshua Zirkzee.

The Red Devils are trying to steal a march on the likes of Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for Bologna’s highly-rated Dutch international Zirkzee.

But David is also now in the frame, with The I reporting that initial talks have been held with the player’s camp.

However, Tottenham, West Ham and Aston Villa are also said to be keen on the Canadian forward, whom Lille president Olivier Letang has already said will be allowed to depart the Stade Pierre-Mauroy this summer along with fellow United transfer target Leny Yoro.

Both players have entered the final years of their respective contracts in France.

Chelsea table bid for Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino

Chelsea are said to have made an offer to sign Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino.

The Blues have been on the lookout for top youngsters from South America over recent years and are on the verge of signing teenage Brazilian winger Estevao Willian - AKA ‘Little Messi’ - from Palmeiras.

According to reports from Argentina, Chelsea have also now tabled a £13.3m bid for Anselmino, the 19-year-old Argentine centre-back.

Arsenal and Man United join Tottenham in Conor Gallagher race

Arsenal and Manchester United could now join the race for Conor Gallagher.

The England midfielder’s Stamford Bridge future is currently subject to intense speculation as he enters the final 12 months of his current contract, with initial reports that Chelsea were willing to sell their popular academy graduate for around £50m since giving way to suggestions that they could yet offer an extension.

Atletico Madrid have been linked with a bid for Gallagher this week, while long-term suitors Tottenham are also expected to make another move after initial talks held by Aston Villa.

But Spanish outlet AS claim that Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in a potential deal for the 24-year-old this summer.

Italian publication Il Bianconero report that Spurs could jump ahead of Juventus in the queue by launching a bid for Calafiori, while Liverpool are also now being linked with the 22-year-old.

Manchester United are keen on a move for West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez, reports suggest.

The Mexican international enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League after arriving from Dutch giants Ajax in a £34.5m deal last summer as part of the Hammers’ plans to replace Declan Rice.

Alvarez obviously now has admirers at Old Trafford, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Erik ten Hag is a big fan of his and that United are discussing him as an option as they seriously consider bringing in a new midfielder with Casemiro likely on the way out.

Chelsea are confident over finally sealing the return of Michael Olise to Stamford Bridge this summer.

However, a major twist has since emerged, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Crystal Palace have now offered Olise a bumper new contract at Selhurst Park that includes a higher release clause for next summer.

Such a move worked last year of course, though this time Romano claims that Chelsea remain confident of agreeing a deal after positive discussions with the player.

Bayern and Newcastle are also apparently talking to Olise.

Arsenal plot massive new Bruno Guimaraes bid

Arsenal appear to have Bruno Guimaraes back at the top of their summer transfer wish list.

The Brazilian midfielder has been strongly linked with a big-money move to north London over recent months, along with Newcastle team-mate Alexander Isak.

FootballTransfers now report that Arsenal are back on the trail of Guimaraes amid frustration in their long-term pursuit of Martin Zubimendi at Real Sociedad.

They claim the Gunners are plotting a huge player-plus-cash offer for the 26-year-old, who has a £100m release clause written into his latest five-year Newcastle contract signed in October.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Emile Smith Rowe, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Eddie Nketiah and Thomas Partey are apparently among the possible contenders for a part-exchange deal.

Transfer news LIVE!

The transfer window is in full swing and club across Europe have already been busy wheeling and dealing. Arsenal continue to hunt for a new striker, having missed out on Benjamin Sesko. Of interest is reportedly Artem Dovbyk, Nico Williams, Joshua Zirkzee and Victor Osimhen. PSG youngster Xavi Simons has also been linked.

Chelsea have had an eventful start to the week, with Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian completing a medical ahead of finalising his £51million move, before Pedro Lima performed a late U-turn to join Wolves instead of the BlueCo family. Chelsea will likely dry any tears with a deal for Michael Olise, and talks continue for Jhon Duran.

Tottenham could pile the misery on Crystal Palace by taking Eberechi Eze off their hands for £60m, with a first offer expected imminently. Interest in Ivan Toney is real, but reports that a bid has been rejected is not. Monaco right-back Vanderson has also been linked. Liverpool continue to scour the market for new manager Arne Slot's first signing. Keep up to date with all the latest transfer news, updates and gossip via Standard Sport’s live blog below!

Latest on Tottenham interest in Ivan Toney

Tottenham are interested in a summer move for Ivan Toney but reports of a rejected bid are wide of the mark.

Football Transfers claimed on Monday that Spurs had both agreed personal terms with the England international and seen a first offer dismissed by Brentford.

But Standard Sport understands there is no truth in those reports.

It remains to be seen if Spurs do follow up on long-standing interest in the Brentford front man, but it is expected to come at a cost despite the player entering the final year of his contract.

Chelsea fear another hijacking as Bayern circle Michael Olise

Not many clubs who are not keen on Michael Olise, it would seem.

Chelsea and Manchester United are both pushing to sign the Crystal Palace star, who is valued at £60m, and they could now face competition from Bayern Munich.

Sky Germany report that Olise is on Bayern’s shortlist of targets, and a late swoop is in the offing despite Chelsea agreeing personal terms with the young French star.

It’s suggested that the Bundesliga side are willing to sell Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman, which could lead to them eyeing Olise.

Arsenal in first Victor Osimhen bid this week

Arsenal are ready to test Napoli’s resolve with a first bid for Victor Osimhen.

According to various reports in Italy, Mikel Arteta has decided on his preferred striker target and senses and opportunity for a cut-price deal.

Journalist Valter De Maggio told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli: “As far as we know, despite the monster offer from the Saudi Pro League, Victor Osimhen does not want to go to Saudi Arabia.

“Arsenal does not value him at €120million (£101m), but just over half that, €75million (£63.4m).”

Rai Sport back up De Maggio’s claims by reporting that Arsenal will confirm their interest with an opening bid this week, which will be lower than Napoli's steep valuation.

Raphael Varane eyes MLS switch after Man Utd exit

Raphael Varane’s future is far from settled as he prepares to leave Manchester United.

Former club Lens has already been earmarked by the player as a destination to return to but FootMercato say they can’t afford the veteran defender.

Likewise Inter Miami, who are keen according to TyC Sports and have even held talks.

However, they have filled their three designated player spots which means, under MLS rules, Varane would have to settle for a relatively demure salary in the range of £15,000-a-week.
