Description

According to reports, Brighton have reached a verdict on whether to ‘pay’ Tottenham Hotspur’s ‘asking price’ to sign Luka Vuskovic this summer.

Brighton and Tottenham have been busy at the negotiating table over the past few weeks, with the clubs in talks over deals for Vuskovic and Jan Paul van Hecke.

After landing Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi, Tottenham have turned to signing Van Hecke, while they have also been plotting moves for Savinho, Sandro Tonali and Joao Palhinha.

Van Hecke, who is in the final year of his contract, previously worked with Roberto De Zerbi at Brighton and is reportedly keen on a reunion, though his current club have ensured that they get maximum value out of this transfer.

And David Ornstein reported on Tuesday evening that the Seagulls have impressively gotten Spurs to pay £52m for Van Hecke, with a deal now ‘agreed’.

Ornstein said on X: “Tottenham Hotspur reach agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign Jan Paul van Hecke.

“Deal for 26yo #Netherlands int’l worth £52m fixed, no add-ons. Luka Vuskovic situation separate; 2nd #BHAFC offer worth £35m rejected by #THFC.”

It has been suggested that this deal could lead to Brighton signing Vuskovic.

Brighton have already had two bids rejected for Vuskovic, who has reportedly reached a ‘verbal agreement’ to join the Premier League club this summer.

Brighton unwilling to meet Tottenham’s ‘asking price’ for Luka Vuskovic

The 19-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for Tottenham, but he has been attracting interest from several European clubs after his breakout loan spell at Hamburg. He contributed six goals in his 28 Bundesliga appearances for the German outfit.

Brighton’s latest rejected offer for Vuskovic was worth around £30m, and a report on Tuesday claimed Spurs ‘plan to accept’ the next bid for the centre-back.

However, Football Insider claims Brighton ‘want a compromise’ over Vuskovic because they are ‘not willing to pay Tottenham’s £60m asking price’.

The report claims: ‘The North London outfit ideally want to keep the 19-year-old starlet, but it is understood that Brighton are offering him a quicker pathway to regular first-team football.

‘Brighton are working to strike a “compromise” with Spurs for the deal to go through at a cut-price fee, as they see a £60m deal as being too far-fetched.’

And BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone even claims Brighton have ‘no immediate plans’ to make a ‘new Vuskovic bid’.

The report explains:

‘Brighton are keeping across the situation but they will not be making another bid at the moment.

‘Evidently, they do need a replacement for Van Hecke, who started 36 out of their 38 Premier League games last season. However, they do have time.’

Tottenham: Sandro Tonali picks Spurs as Newcastle compromise on transfer fee

Description

Sandro Tonali wants to sign for Tottenham and there’ll be no issues on personal terms, while a trusted reporter has brought news of Newcastle compromising on the transfer fee.

Tottenham recognise the need to go big in the market after successive 17th-placed finishes in the Premier League. Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi quickly arrived via free agency, and on Tuesday night, Spurs agreed a £52m deal with Brighton for the transfer of Jan Paul van Hecke.

Spurs are also advancing in club-to-club discussions with Manchester City for Savinho. If that deal crumbles, they’ll give serious consideration to signing Crysencio Summerville from West Ham instead.

However, all of those deals pale in comparison to what could be about to unfold with Sandro Tonali.

Fabrizio Romano broke news on Monday night of Tottenham throwing their hat in the ring for Newcastle’s midfield ace.

That put Spurs in direct competition with Arsenal and Manchester City. Manchester United were in the mix too, but pulled out of the race after deeming the overall cost of landing the player too expensive.

Tottenham view the situation differently, however, and through Roberto De Zerbi, have positioned themselves as favourites.

Positive early talks with Tonali and his camp have been held, and the fact both De Zerbi and Tonali hail from the same Italian city of Brescia is greatly aiding Tottenham’s cause.

Sandro Tonali chooses Tottenham

When providing an overnight update on his YouTube channel, transfer guru Romano revealed Tottenham and Tonali will have no issues agreeing personal terms.

What’s more, he revealed that despite Man City making an approach for the Italian, it’s Spurs who Tonali wants to join above all others.

After confirming that Tottenham are “in conversations” with Tonali’s camp, Romano added: “Sandro Tonali WANTS to go to Tottenham, so he’s keen on the move.

“I don’t think there’s going to be any problem with the player, financially or in terms of the contract.

“Also because the connection between Tonali and De Zerbi is very clear, both from the same city of Brescia, so the connection is very, very good.”

Romano concluded by noting Tottenham will make direct contact with Newcastle to discuss the transfer fee and deal structure “soon”.

Mere hours later, Romano provided another brief update on his YouTube channel that confirmed Tonali wants Spurs despite City’s “approach”.

Newcastle to compromise on £100m transfer fee

As such, all eyes are on Newcastle and how much they demand for the Italy international.

Prior reports have pointed to a £100m fee, and according to Ben Jacobs, that is the Magpies’ asking price.

However, he revealed that Newcastle would be willing to consider a bid as low as £85m, so long as add-ons take the overall worth up to that magic £100m number.

“Spurs a serious contender and have money to spend despite no European football,” stated Jacobs on X. “Roberto De Zerbi driving the move.

“Bid of around £85m plus add-ons taking the package to around £100m expected to be considered by #NUFC.”

Description

Tottenham have sealed the signing of Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton, with Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein both confirming the coup.

Spurs have already banked two defenders this summer in the form of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi. Both players arrived via free agency, and the veteran pair will add much needed experience to a squad that can be flaky more often than not.

However, Tottenham aren’t done with with regards to additions at the back, with Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke representing the true prize for Roberto De Zerbi.

The Spurs boss managed Van Hecke at Brighton and was desperate to forge a reunion in north London.

Tottenham had already launched two bids for the 26-year-old who started the Netherlands’ World Cup opener at centre-back alongside Virgil van Dijk.

Those offers were worth £40m and £50m, though were both rejected by Brighton.

However, progress has now been made on the transfer after both David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal is done after a decisive third bid worth £52m was tabled.

Tottenham agree Jan Paul van Hecke transfer

Taking to X, Ornstein wrote: “Tottenham Hotspur reach agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign Jan Paul van Hecke.

“Deal for 26yo #Netherlands int’l worth £52m fixed, no add-ons. Luka Vuskovic situation separate; 2nd #BHAFC offer worth £35m rejected by #THFC.”

Romano quickly verified those claims, stating on X: “Tottenham agree deal to sign Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton, here we go!

“New defender wanted by De Zerbi joining on £52m deal, agreement club to club done after player accepted #THFC conditions last week.

“All done and Vuskovic separate case, as @David_Ornstein reports.”

Elsewhere, Tottenham are also making progress in their attempts to pull off a major coup by signing Sandro Tonali from Newcastle.

The De Zerbi connection is proving key, with both he and Tonali hailing from the same Italian city of Brescia.

Tonali has signalled he’ll say yes to joining Spurs, though the small matter of agreeing a blockbuster fee with Newcastle must be overcome. The Magpies are demanding £100m and there’ll be no discounts.

Tottenham are also aiming to sign Savinho from Manchester City for £60m. If that deal crumbles, Ben Jacobs claimed they could hijack Manchester United’s move for Crysencio Summerville, with a ‘call’ recently made to West Ham.

Tottenham make 'call' to hijack Man Utd move for 'dangerously quick' attacker

Manchester United are facing yet more heartache in a transfer window that is rapidly going off the rails, and it’s thanks to Tottenham.

Man Utd want to add more midfielders after Ederson, but neither Elliot Anderson or Sandro Tonali will follow the Brazilian into Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have pulled out of the races to sign both stars due to the high costs involved. The asking prices for Anderson (£120m-plus guaranteed) and Tonali (£100m) have been deemed excessive by INEOS.

That’s put the full focus on West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, but the latest from The Mirror has pointed to an all-too-familiar issue.

They stated Man Utd have informed the Hammers they are not prepared to meet Fernandes’ asking price, which is currently £80m.

As such, Man Utd are rolling the dice on the Portuguese by playing hardball on the fee, which is especially risky given clubs the calibre of PSG and Real Madrid also want to sign the 21-year-old.

There was positive news on Tuesday morning by way of David Ornstein, however, who revealed Man Utd had made an enquiry into the signing of Crysencio Summerville.

West Ham value their Netherlands international winger at roughly £50m, with Man Utd drawn to Summerville’s pace which was termed ‘dangerously quick’.

But again, there’s a bump in the road and this time it’s Tottenham-shaped.

Tottenham want Summerville if Savinho deal crumbles

Taking to X, trusted reporter, Ben Jacobs, claimed Spurs have called West Ham as they weigh up whether to hijack Man Utd’s potential move.

He wrote: “Manchester United have added Crysencio Summerville to their list of wide options, as David Ornstein called.

“An enquiry has already been made to West Ham after Summerville scored high in data analysis.

“Spurs have also called West Ham as Summerville is an option in case Savinho doesn’t move.”

DON’T MISS: England’s squad ranked on World Cup importance: Kane or Rice top?

As mentioned, Man Utd need not fear if Tottenham succeed with their attempts to sign Savinho from Manchester City.

On that front, The Daily Mail recently claimed club-to-club discussions over a deal projected to be worth £60m were ‘advancing’.

That came after Savinho said yes to joining Spurs – just as he did last summer – and Man City gave the green light to the Brazilian’s sale.

But if for whatever reason the Savinho deal does not progress, Tottenham are now a genuine threat to Man Utd’s plans to sign Summerville.

Tottenham 'to accept new Luka Vuskovic offer' after U

Tottenham 'to accept new Vuskovic offer' after U-turn for one reason amid 'agreement' - Football365
Description

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur ‘plan to accept a new offer’ for Luka Vuskovic amid interest from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Vuskovic is attracting heavy interest from Brighton, who have already had a couple of offers rejected for the talented centre-back.

The 19-year-old joined Tottenham in 2023 from Hajduk Split and is yet to make his senior debut for the Premier League giants, but he shone for Hamburg during his 2025/26 loan spell.

After scoring six goals in his 28 Bundesliga outings for Hamburg, Vuskovic is part of Croatia’s World Cup squad, and he seemingly wants to continue his development at Brighton after reaching a ‘verbal agreement’ for this move.

Initially, it was assumed that Tottenham would push to keep Vuskovic beyond this summer, but a report from our pals at TEAMtalk last week reported they have made a U-turn on letting him leave and could sell on the right conditions.

READ: Romano reveals Tonali’s stance on Tottenham move with ‘important detail’ as Newcastle ‘make decision’

Earlier this week, a report claimed Brighton were ‘ready’ to make a ‘third’ offer for Vuskovic, and a Football Insider are reporting that this could be accepted.

According to their information, Spurs ‘plan to accept a new offer’ for Vuskovic and they are ‘prepared’ to sell him to Brighton, who are ‘growing in confidence’ that they can finalise this deal.

Why Tottenham are now willing to sell Luka Vuskovic

And according to ex-Man Utd chief scout Mick Brown, Spurs are open to letting Vuskovic leave because they “don’t rate him as highly as others”.

“It seems to me that Tottenham are ready to let him go for the right price,” Brown told Football Insider.

“My big thing with Vuskovic is that, from what I hear, there are question marks at Spurs about whether he’s good enough to play a part there.

“They had a nightmare at the back last season, ended up bringing in Kevin Danso as a backup with Van de Ven and Romero seemingly always out for one reason or another.

“But they chose not to recall Vuskovic from his loan spell, when by all accounts he would have been the ideal player to come back and strengthen their defence.

“That stands out to me as a bit of a concern, and now whether it’s the manager’s decision or the club’s decision, they don’t seem to rate him as highly as some others do.

“He’s been spoken about as this wonderful up-and-coming player, but if Spurs don’t feel like he’s an improvement on what they’ve got, there’s every chance they could accept an offer.

“Especially with two new centre-backs seemingly being brought in, I think that says all you need to know about how Tottenham view Vuskovic.”

Tottenham: Romano reveals huge Tonali green light with 'important detail' as Newcastle 'make decision'

Romano reveals Tottenham green light for Tonali as Newcastle 'make decision' - Football365
Description

According to reports, Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali is ‘keen’ on a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Over the past couple of seasons, Tonali has developed into one of the Premier League’s standout midfielders, and he has been heavily linked with an exit from Newcastle.

Tonali failed to secure a move to Arsenal in January, but he has remained linked with them and other Big Six sides in recent months.

Newcastle are under less pressure to sell Tonali after offloading Anthony Gordon, but it is not out of the question that he is let go if they receive a suitable offer for the centre-midfielder.

Spurs have made a fast start to this summer’s transfer window and Romano revealed on Monday that they are making a bold move for Tonali.

Having already landed Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers and as they work on deals for Savinho, Jan Paul van Hecke and Joao Palhinha, they have ‘entered the race’ to sign Tonali.

READ: Insider reveals Pedro Porro rejected four giant clubs as he ‘always’ wanted Tottenham stay

Romano said on X: ‘EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham have entered the race to sign Sandro Tonali!

‘De Zerbi wants Tonali as new star for the midfield, ideal to step up #THFC level.

‘Spurs ready to face Man City and Arsenal in the race for Tonali for new ambitious project to prove their intentions.’

Romano reveals Tottenham green light for Tonali

Now, in another update, Romano has revealed that Tonali is “keen on a move to Tottenham”, and another “important detail” is in their favour.

“Tottenham want to do something very, very important in terms of a top player, top name in midfield,” Romano said on YouTube.

“An important detail: Roberto wants Tonali, but De Zerbi and Tonali are from the same city, Brescia in Italy. So there is a very good connection between them.

“It’s not just about being Italian; it’s also about being from the same city. The connection is excellent. And so, De Zerbi is pushing internally at Tottenham to have Tonali as soon as possible.

“Obviously, the timing will depend on negotiations with Newcastle. It is never easy to strike a deal with Newcastle, but Tottenham will be on it.”

Regarding Tonali’s stance, Romano continued: “My understanding is that Tonali is keen on a move to Tottenham. Tonali is open to joining Tottenham. Tonali is ready to join Spurs even without European football, even after a terrible season for them.

“Tonali is attracted by the project, wants to play for De Zerbi, and so the possibility to see Tonali at Tottenham is really serious, it’s really concrete.”

Our colleagues at TEAMtalk, meanwhile, have also indicated that it will be hard for Tottenham to strike a deal with Newcastle, who have ‘made a decision’ to ‘not make it easy’ for clubs trying to buy Tonali.

The report claims:

‘Newcastle United have no intention of making it easy for any club hoping to sign Sandro Tonali this summer, with TEAMtalk understanding the Magpies would only begin to consider a sale if offers exceed £100million, following confirmation that Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to register an interest.’

Tottenham: Insider reveals Pedro Porro rejected four giant clubs as he 'always' wanted to stay

Insider reveals Pedro Porro rejected four giant clubs to stay at Tottenham - Football365
Description

Insider Ben Jacobs has revealed interest from four giant clubs in Pedro Porro, with two making contact for the Tottenham man, but he “always” wanted to stay with Spurs.

Tottenham were in relegation danger until the final day of last season. A victory against Everton meant they stayed up, and they’ve since made some big moves.

They’ve confirmed the signings of Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, while perhaps an even bigger development is right-back Porro‘s new contract, which will run until 2031.

The Spaniard has been one of Tottenham’s best and most consistent players during his three and a half seasons there so far, and amid a torrid time for the club, he gained a lot of admiration elsewhere, with a sense that he was too good to be playing there.

But not long after the season, his new deal has been signed, and insider Jacobs has revealed there was no other move in sight for the Spaniard.

He said on Last Word On Spurs: “Confident having secured Premier League status, although these contract talks were ongoing towards the end of the season, then paused – they were picked up, I believe, in the March international break.

“Then, obviously, everyone was focussed on Tottenham staying up and finally was able to get done very quickly. It’s a contract until 2031 and then an option of an additional year.

“Yes, there were links with Real Madrid, I never really bought that there was that much substance, a little bit more to the Manchester City interest, but they never made any kind of bid.

READ: Brighton ‘ready third offer’ to Tottenham for Luka Vuskovic with ‘verbal agreement’ reached

“Atletico Madrid and Bayern had also held some formative talks with the player camp, but Porro had always indicated to everybody that if Tottenham stayed up, he wanted to stay at the football club, and this is why they were able to finalise that one relatively fast.”

Tottenham improving their back line

Porro remaining at Spurs means there could be a very good back line next season. Though Cristian Romero is almost certain to leave, Micky van de Ven is reportedly set to stay, while Senesi and Robertson will likely come into the side.

That would mean for a centre-back partnership of Van de Ven and Senesi, with Porro and Robertson flanking them. That should, in theory, be a solid back four, with good defensive capabilities and the ability to get on the front foot and put other sides under pressure.

Fabrizio Romano says ‘Arsenal have called for weeks’ for €100m ‘superstar’ - Football365
Description

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal have been calling for weeks to get a deal done to bring Sandro Tonali to the Emirates Stadium, but Tottenham Hotspur have now entered the race for the Newcastle United midfielder.

With Newcastle enduring a hugely disappointing 2025/26 campaign, Tonali’s days at St. James’ Park are likely to be numbered.

Arsenal were offered the chance to sign Tonali on the final day of the January transfer window.

Eventually, the Italy international midfielder stayed at St. James’ Park, but Arsenal remain keen on Tonali.

Arsenal, who won the Premier League title and reached the final of the Champions League last season under manager Mikel Arteta, want to reinforce their midfield in the summer transfer window, with sporting director Andrea Berta keen for the Gunners to build on their success.

Transfer guru Romano has revealed that Arsenal have been calling for Tonali for weeks, with Manchester City also in the race for the 26-year-old.

READ: Prem targets, Ronaldo, USA to star in five World Cup games not to miss this week

However, both Arsenal and Man City are now facing stiff competition from Tottenham for Tonali.

According to Romano, Tottenham are keen on a 2026 summer deal for the former AC Milan star, with Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi driving the north London club’s interest in the Italian, who was described as “a superstar player” by Newcastle CEO David Hopkinson on talkSPORT on February 4.

Arsenal and Tottenham competing for Sandro Tonali

Romano said about Tonali on his YouTube channel: “Tottenham today have entered the race very strong, very concrete, very determined to sign Sandro Tonali.

“And if Tottenham got this strong, my understanding is that it’s because Sandro Tonali is – important point of this video, important point of this information – keen on a move to Tottenham.

“Sandro Tonali is open to joining Tottenham.

“Sandro Tonali is ready to join Spurs, even without European football, even after a terrible season for Tottenham Hotspur, Tonali is attracted by the project, wants to play for Roberto De Zerbi.

“And so the possibility to say Tonali at Tottenham is really serious, is really concrete/

“Then let’s wait for the negotiation club-to-club.

“The understanding is that it could take around €100million package to sign Sandro Tonali, so around £85million.

“Let’s see, let’s follow the story, but Tottenham are going very strong.

“Arsenal have called for weeks, Manchester City in contact for weeks, but now Tottenham going all in for Sandro Tonali, the wanted player by Roberto De Zerb to step up the project and to show the ambition of their view.

“So, keep an eye on this one.”

Tonali, who won Serie A with Milan in the 2021/22 season, is under contract at Newcastle until the summer of 2028.

The Italian midfielder has made 110 appearances for Newcastle so far in his career, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists in the process.

Description

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur have ‘entered the race’ to sign Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali this summer.

Tottenham narrowly avoided disaster at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, having secured Premier League survival on the final day of the season.

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi was drafted in on a lucrative contract in the final weeks of the season to save Spurs, and he just made enough of an impact to edge out West Ham in the race to avoid relegation.

But this does not make up for how shambolic Spurs were for most of the season, and De Zerbi made it clear after their survival that they need to be busy in this transfer window.

De Zerbi was presumably given a lot of assurances regarding transfers when he joined Spurs, and they do seem more ambitious in this window.

The north London side have already struck deals to sign Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers, while they are also working to sign Savinho, Jan Paul van Hecke and Joao Palhinha.

And now, it has emerged that they are making an audacious move for Newcastle standout Tonali, who has been heavily linked with several Big Six clubs in recent months.

Despite selling Anthony Gordon, Newcastle remain at risk of losing Tonali following their failure to qualify for Europe ahead of next season.

Spurs ‘enter the race’ to sign Sandro Tonali

In recent weeks, Man Utd, Arsenal and Man City have been mooted as destinations for Tonali, but Romano revealed on Monday evening that Spurs are another contender for the centre-midfielder.

In recent days, Romano has also revealed that Man Utd are no longer a contender to sign Tonali this summer.

“Man Utd are not stopping there. They want at least one more midfielder and work is already taking place behind the scenes,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“After completing the Ederson deal, the club will continue to push for further additions in that area.”

Romano added: “Manchester United are not going for Sandro Tonali at this stage. The intention of Manchester United is not to proceed.

“Manchester United has been interested in Tonali for some time, and he’s been on Manchester United’s shortlist, but now Manchester United believe that the player is too expensive.”

Brighton 'ready third offer' to Tottenham to sign Luka Vuskovic with 'agreement' reached - Football365
Description

According to reports, Brighton are now ‘ready’ to make a ‘third offer’ to sign Tottenham Hotspur starlet Luka Vuskovic this summer.

Brighton are looking to pull off a major coup with the signing of Vuskovic, who emerged as one of Europe’s standout young centre-backs during the 2025/26 campaign.

The 19-year-old, who is part of Croatia’s World Cup squad, joined Tottenham for around £12m in 2023 from Hadjuk Split.

Vuskovic is yet to make his senior debut for the north London outfit, but he shone for Bundesliga side Hamburg in his loan spell this season. He scored six goals in his 28 appearances for the German outfit.

And his form for Hamburg has caught the attention of clubs around Europe, so Tottenham face losing him this summer.

READ:Tottenham ‘ahead of’ Liverpool for £39m ‘bargain’ signing amid Van Hecke ‘collapse’ claim

Initially, it was widely reported that Spurs would push to keep Vuskovic beyond this summer, but a report earlier this month claimed they have made a ‘U-turn’ and would be open to selling him to Brighton or another club if their asking price is met.

On Saturday evening, German reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed that Brighton have failed with an offer worth 35 million euros for Vuskovic, though he has a ‘verbal agreement’ with the Premier League side.

Plettenberg said on X: ‘BREAKING | Understand Tottenham have immediately rejected Brighton’s €35m offer for Luka Vuskovic.

‘A new offer from Brighton is very likely to follow.

‘As revealed, a verbal agreement between Brighton and Vuskovic is already in place. Brighton are currently the most concrete club in the race.’

Tottenham set ‘valuation’ as Brighton ‘ready third offer’

And on Sunday, a report from our colleagues at TEAMtalk revealed that Tottenham’s ‘valuation’ for Vuskovic has been set at £60m, presumably to try to price Brighton and others out of a deal.

The report claims:

‘Brighton’s opening proposal, understood to be worth around £30million, was initially met with resistance from Tottenham. Indeed, Spurs’ early position was that Vuskovic’s value was closer to double that figure, at almost £60m, given the enormous potential they believe he possesses.

‘Yet sources indicate the player’s camp have privately communicated that such a valuation is viewed as somewhat excessive at this stage of his career.’

Now, Football Insider are reporting that Brighton are ‘ready’ to submit a ‘third offer’ for Vuskovic, though they do not state how much this bid will be worth.

The report adds: ‘The Seagulls are understood to be readying an “improved” offer for their “top target”, having seen their second bid of £30million knocked back by the Lilywhites. Their pursuit of the 19-year-old is closely linked to Spurs’ attempts to buy Jan Paul van Hecke, with one deal potentially set to trigger the other as talks progress.

‘Tottenham are extremely reluctant to sell Vuskovic, but there is a growing belief that the player himself is keen to make the switch to the Amex Stadium.’
