According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are now ‘primed to sign’ a second Manchester City star in this summer’s transfer window.

Spurs have made a fast start to this summer’s transfer window, having already signed Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers from Liverpool and AFC Bournemouth.

Man City winger Savinho could be their next addition, but it has now emerged that they are plotting a move for England international James Trafford.

Trafford returned to Man City in last summer’s transfer window, but he was only a bit-part player for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 2025/26 campaign as they also signed Gianluigi Donnarumma.

And with Trafford firmly behind Donnarumma in the pecking order at the Etihad, the 23-year-old is expected to pursue an exit this summer to play regularly elsewhere.

According to our colleagues at TEAMtalk, Spurs are ‘primed to sign’ Trafford as a £40m replacement for Guglielmo Vicario, who is also being heavily linked with an exit this summer.

Trafford is said to have been ‘told’ by Man City that he is ‘sellable this summer’ and they ‘will consider offers’ for him.

It is also stated that Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi ‘loves’ Trafford, who would take Antonin Kinsky’s place as his No.1 goalkeeper if they sign him from Man City.

Three rivals for James Trafford revealed with Savinho deal ‘advanced’

However, the same report claims Spurs face competition from three Premier League clubs for Trafford, with Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Leeds United also interested.

Regarding Savinho, a report from The Daily Mail has claimed that Spurs are now ‘advancing’ towards completing a deal for the winger for around £60m.

Fabrizio Romano, meanwhile, has provided more details on this transfer in a recent update, claiming Savinho was “ready” to join Spurs “one year ago”.

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Savinho was ready to go to Tottenham one year ago. Then if Man City tell you you have to stay, Pep Guardiola is trusting you, obviously Savinho was more than happy to stay and to continue and to sign a new contract as he did in September.

“But Savinho was attracted by Tottenham one year ago and Savinho is again attracted by Tottenham today. So on player side, I don’t see big issues. I think Savinho Tottenham on player side can get done quite soon.

“Now it’s so Manchester City and Tottenham negotiating, discussing, talking about the transfer fee. So let’s be patient. Let’s see what happens there. But Tottenham are on it. Tottenham are working on the Savinho deal.”

Liverpool will fail in their quest to bring Jan Paul van Hecke to Anfield, with a report claiming that the Brighton and Hove Albion defender wants to move to Tottenham Hotspur and work with Roberto De Zerbi instead.

With Ibrahima Konate leaving and Virgil van Dijk ageing, Liverpool are on the hunt for a new defender in the summer transfer window.

While Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet will be part of Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s squad for next season, both are very young.

Liverpool ‘in contact’ with Jan Paul van Hecke

According to VI, Liverpool have been in contact with Jan Paul van Hecke, who is out of contract at Brighton and Hove Albion in 2027.

The report in the Dutch news outlet has reported that Liverpool have made ‘contact’ with the 26-year-old Netherlands international.

There is interest in Van Hecke from Chelsea and Newcastle United, too.

READ: Liverpool accelerating £164m double winger signing as two more exits gather pace

VI has noted: ‘Over the past few months, many Premier League clubs showed interest in Van Hecke.

‘Brighton’s absolute star player was in contact with Liverpool and was being monitored by Chelsea and Newcastle United.’

However, it is Tottenham Hotspur who have ‘pushed ahead in recent weeks’ and could end up signing Van Hecke.

Tottenham are planning a third bid for Van Hecke, who has agreed on personal terms with Spurs.

Van Hecke worked with current Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi at Brighton and reportedly ‘became enthusiastic about the talks’ with the Italian manager.

Jan Paul van Hecke wants to join Tottenham Hotspur

‘Van Hecke himself has therefore made up his mind: it has to be Tottenham’, according to the report.

VI has added: ‘Although interest from other clubs has been mentioned in the British press in recent days, Van Hecke now only wants to go to Tottenham.

‘Consequently, the club is not giving up and is working to quickly bring the deal to the final stages.

‘As a result, Van Hecke can start the World Cup without distractions and is assured of a top transfer.’

Tottenham central defender Micky van de Ven is also pushing for Van Hecke to join him at Tottenham.

The Netherlands international said about his compatriot: “I did talk to Jan Paul briefly about Tottenham. I think it is a good step for him.”

Netherland manager Ronald Koeman has also given his take on the future of Van Hecke.

When asked about Van Hecke’s proposed move to Tottenham, Koeman said: “Ideally, I would prefer a player to have peace of mind regarding his club,” he said on Sunday. And that there is clarity about the future. But I cannot stop it.”

Tottenham Hotspur are planning to raid Juventus to bring Gleison Bremer to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, according to a report, as the north London club strike an agreement with Jan Paul van Hecke.

Roberto De Zerbi rescued Tottenham from relegation to the Championship, and the Italian manager is now planning to make major signings in the summer transfer window.

Andy Robertson has already been announced as a Tottenham player for next season and beyond.

Marcos Senesi is also set to move to Tottenham as a free agent, with the Argentina international defender out of contract at Bournemouth at the end of the month.

Tottenham are determined to sign Jan Paul van Hecke, too, with the north London club having already made a second bid of £50million for the Brighton and Hove Albion defender.

Spurs have reached an agreement on personal terms with Van Hecke, as the north London club go into overdrive to sort their defensive issues.

Tottenham Hotspur want Gleison Bremer

It has now emerged that Tottenham are planning to make a bid for Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.

According to TuttoJuve, Tottenham ‘could make a concrete offer for Bremer in the coming days’.

The Brazil international defender has a release clause of €58million (£50m) in his contract at Juventus.

The Juventus-centric Italian news outlet has reported that Juventus could consider selling Bremer to Tottenham for less than his release clause.

TuttoJuve has also reported that Tottenham have ‘ expressed interest’ in the 29-year-old centre-back.

The report has added: ‘To facilitate the deal, Spurs could offer Guglielmo Vicario, a goalkeeper long-time target of the Juventus management and who would represent a reliable option for a future between the posts.

‘There are currently no definitive agreements, but discussions could intensify in the coming weeks.’

Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp has urged Tottenham manager De Zerbi to build his team around Archie Gray.

The former Tottenham manager told The London Evening Standard: “I think Archie Gray would be one of the people that you look to build your team around,” he said.

“He looks a fantastic young pro, good player, and over the last two years, he’s probably been their best player, I think.

“He is, I assume, a captain of the club in the not-too-distant future. Even next year, if I was there, I wouldn’t hesitate to make him captain, even though he’s only a young kid.

“He could be like Ray Wilkins, who became captain of Chelsea when he was very young. He’s good enough to do that.”

Redknapp has also backed Spurs to finish in the Premier League top six next season, after narrowly escaping the dreaded drop to the Championship this time around.

The pundit said: “I think the new manager has sorted it out. I think Tottenham next year, for sure they’ll be a top-six team.

“De Zerbi, I like him. He did a great job at Brighton. All the people I talk to who have played for him like him and respect him. I think he’ll do well, I think next year they’ll be up there.”

Tottenham are closing in on their third signing of the summer as they advance towards a deal for Manchester City star Savinho, according to reports.

Spurs narrowly escaped relegation from the Premier League on the final day of the season as a 1-0 win over Everton was enough to avoid the drop.

Tottenham finished two points ahead of 18th-placed West Ham, who left the Premier League via the trap door, and now the Spurs hierarchy are keen to avoid being in another relegation struggle next term.

The North Londoners have already confirmed Andy Robertson is joining from Liverpool on a free transfer, while Marco Senesi is also inbound from Bournemouth.

Fabrizio Romano wrote on X last week: ‘Tottenham have completed their double free agent signings as planned since April. After Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi joins on a four year deal until June 2030 — never in doubt, no chance for hijacks as Marcos said yes to Spurs weeks ago. Medical done today. #THFC.’

Speaking recently about a potential move for Man City winger Savinho, Romano added on his YouTube channel: “Savinho was ready to go to Tottenham one year ago. Then if Man City tell you you have to stay, Pep Guardiola is trusting you, obviously Savinho was more than happy to stay and to continue and to sign a new contract as he did in September.

And now the Daily Mail have claimed that Tottenham are ‘advancing’ in their attempts to sign Savinho with Spurs ‘in talks over a deal worth around £60m’ for the Man City winger.

Man City ‘blocked’ the transfer last summer when the Citizens were looking for as much as £70m with speculation all summer and January about a potential move.

The Daily Mail adds: ‘Talks are ongoing over the structure of the offer which will include add-ons and bonuses..

It is understood that Tottenham are also ‘hopeful’ that a third bid can be successful for Brighton centre-back Jan Paul Hecke after their first two bids were rejected by the Seagulls.

The Daily Mail continues: ‘Further signings are planned as discussions continue with other targets.’

Man Utd: INEOS reach decision on signing Cristian Romero as Tottenham agree deal for replacement

Description

Manchester United have decided whether or not to sign Cristian Romero who is on course to leave Tottenham, and Spurs have now agreed personal terms with the Argentine’s replacement.

Romero may be Tottenham’s captain, but he’s no true leader. Our colleagues over on TEAMtalk recently brought news of the Argentine’s stunt at the end of the season going down like a lead balloon among the Spurs hierarchy.

Ahead of Tottenham’s final day clash where their Premier League status was still hanging in the balance, Romero flew back to Argentina where he intended to watch his boyhood club Belgrano take on River Plate.

The visual of the club’s captain jetting off ahead of the biggest game of the season – even if he was injured and unavailable to play – was an extremely poor one.

Ultimately, internal pressure resulted in Romero returning to England to offer his support for his teammates and relegation was avoided. However, the damage was done.

TEAMtalk and now The Athletic have both confirmed the expectation is Romero will leave Tottenham this summer.

On Tuesday morning, The Athletic wrote: ‘There is a strong chance the 28-year-old will leave this summer but he is representing Argentina at the World Cup over the next few weeks.

‘Spurs are being proactive by trying to secure Romero’s replacement before he is sold.’

They added: ‘Romero looks set to be the most eye-catching departure [from Spurs].’

The ‘replacement’ Tottenham plan to sign is Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke, with an agreement on personal terms with the 26-year-old now in place.

Spurs have launched two bids for the Dutch international so far, with the first worth £40m and the second totalling £50m.

A third bid which Spurs are confident will seal the deal has been approved and is imminent.

Truth on Cristian Romero to Man Utd

Reports in Spain claimed Man Utd were about to put an offer to Spurs for Romero, who could be the subject of a £56m switch to Old Trafford.

Man Utd’s interest in Romero was then backed up by journalist Gaston Edul, who is generally regarded as being a reliable source on news concerning Argentine players.

However, TEAMtalk’s transfer insider, Fraser Fletcher, has now been reliably informed the links between Man Utd and Romero are overblown.

He explained: ‘Manchester United sources have moved to shut down speculation linking them with Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero, with sources confirming the club are not actively pursuing the Argentine centre-back despite recent reports.’

Rather than move for the Tottenham centre-back, the Red Devils are emphasising signings in other positions.

One and more probably two more midfielders are wanted after Ederson. A left-back – with Lewis Hall cited in Fletcher’s piece – is also a priority. A left winger is on the agenda too.

It is not being denied that Romero may have admirers at Man Utd, but that’s not to say he’ll be heading to Old Trafford during a summer in which other moves are taking far greater priority.

Of course, this doesn’t mean Romero is staying put either, it just means the club he does go on to join won’t be named Manchester United.

A switch to Spain where his volatile nature would mesh well with Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid continues to be mooted as a far more realistic outcome.

Tottenham are keen on signing France Under-21 international Jean-Matteo Bahoya from Eintracht Frankfurt after Arsenal pulled out of the race, according to reports.

Spurs narrowly avoided relegation at the end of the season as a final day win over Everton secured the club’s Premier League status for next term.

Tottenham finished two points ahead of 18th-placed West Ham, who were relegated to the Championship, and now the Spurs hierarchy are looking to make sure they aren’t in another survival scrap next season.

Spurs have already sealed the signings of Liverpool’s Andy Robertson and Bournemouth’s Marco Senesi on free transfers this summer.

#THFC.’

Man City winger Savinho could be their third signing of the summer with Romano revealing that a transfer “can get done quite soon”.

Speaking about the latest on Spurs’ move for Savinho, Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Savinho was ready to go to Tottenham one year ago. Tottenham are also set to make a ‘third bid’ for Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke as the Seagulls continue to value the Dutchman at around £70m.

Voetbal International have revealed that Van Hecke ‘only wants to go to’ Tottenham with the Brighton star no longer talking to any other clubs.

If possible, Van Hecke wants a deal completed before the World Cup starts and Tottenham are ‘working to quickly bring the deal to the final stages’.

Tottenham ‘particularly interested’ in Frankfurt star

And now Tottenham also have their eyes on another target with German publication Bild (via Sport Witness) claiming that Spurs are ‘particularly interested’ after Arsenal ‘walked away’ from the deal.

Tottenham and Roberto de Zerbi are not put off by his dip in form towards the end of the season with Frankfurt looking for €35-40m for the attacking midfielder.

Man Utd are ‘preparing an offer’ to sign Tottenham centre-back Cristian Romero ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.

The Red Devils had an amazing second half to last season that saw Michael Carrick, who replaced Ruben Amorim in January, lead Man Utd to third place and Champions League qualification for next campaign.

That has boosted the transfer budget at Old Trafford heading into the summer transfer window with Man Utd hoping to bring in at least two midfielders, a left-back and a left-winger as a minimum, while there have also been rumours that they could try and stretch themselves to sign a centre-back and/or a striker.

Fabrizio Romano announced last week that INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have already tied up their first signing of the summer with Ederson “officially a Man Utd player”.

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Man Utd have formally completed their first signing of the summer. The ‘here we go’ arrived a few days ago, but now all documents have been signed between Man Utd and Atalanta for Ederson. The Brazilian midfielder is officially a Man Utd player from today.

“What remains now is for Ederson to travel to England after his holidays, complete his formal medical and sign his contract. I am told that an initial unofficial medical already took place with Atalanta’s authorisation and everything was positive. The agreement between Ederson and Man Utd has been in place for months, as the player only wanted this move.

READ:Romano reveals ‘only way’ Man Utd will sign Rafa Leao this summer after ‘concrete calls’ over transfer

“The agreement between the clubs has now also been completed in writing. In terms of an official announcement and seeing Ederson holding the Man Utd shirt, we need a little more patience while the final formalities are completed. However, all paperwork is now signed and Man Utd have secured their first midfield signing of the summer.

“Man Utd are not stopping there. They want at least one more midfielder and work is already taking place behind the scenes. After completing the Ederson deal, the club will continue to push for further additions in that area.”

Man Utd ‘wants to buy’ Tottenham captain Romero

And now Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul has revealed that Man Utd are attempting to get their next deal over the line by ‘preparing an offer’ for Tottenham captain Romero.

READ:Marcus Rashford to Bayern Munich ‘pending’ as transfer intent ‘made known’ to Man Utd

Edul, who has 1.2m X followers, wrote on social media: ‘Manchester United wants to buy Cuti Romero and is preparing an offer.’

Former Man Utd forward Gusieppe Rossi reckons the Red Devils could do with more experience and has recommended the signing of Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski on a free transfer.

Rossi told Ozoon: “Robert Lewandowski to Man Utd? Yeah, why not?

“Of course, Lewandowski would be an incredible asset for the young players, providing his experience and big-game knowledge. With Benjamin Sesko being a young, growing player, having someone like Lewandowski on the team would only benefit him. It’s a no-brainer. He has a huge resume and on a short-term deal, it’s a win-win.”

Description

Tottenham are set to make a third bid to sign Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke in the coming days, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Spurs have flown out of the blocks in the summer transfer market as they look to avoid being in another relegation battle next season.

Tottenham survived on the final day of the Premier League season, with a 1-0 win over Everton enough to see them finish two points clear of West Ham – who were relegated – and secure another term in the English top flight.

It was confirmed last week that Andy Robertson had joined on a free transfer from Liverpool before Fabrizio Romano also revealed that a deal for Marcos Senesi had also been finalised.

Romano said on X: ‘Tottenham have completed their double free agent signings as planned since April. After Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi joins on a four year deal until June 2030 — never in doubt, no chance for hijacks as Marcos said yes to Spurs weeks ago. Medical done today. #THFC.’

Dutch reporter Joost Blaauwhof confirmed earlier on Monday that Van Hecke has now ‘agreed’ personal terms with Tottenham and ‘is no longer speaking with any other club’.

READ: The best 10 World Cup kits including THAT Curacao away shirt

Blaauwhof said on X: ‘NEWS: Jan Paul van Hecke is out. It’s Spurs and only Spurs. The Oranje international is awaiting agreement between Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur, but is no longer speaking with any other club. Personal terms agreed. More to follow…’

And now former CBS Sports journalist Jacobs insists that Tottenham are ready to make a ‘third bid’ to sign Van Hecke after their previous advances were rejected.

Jacobs wrote on social media: ‘Spurs intend to place a third bid for Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke. Van Hecke only has a year left on his contract and wants to join. There remains optimism an agreement can be reached.’

‘I think a move to Tottenham would be perfect for him’

And now former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown – who is still well-connected in the Premier League – has claimed that Tottenham could seal a “perfect” move for another Brighton star, in the form of Carlos Baleba.

Brown told Football Insider: “Tottenham could be tempted to make a move.

READ: England handed ‘miserable’ World Cup verdict as bold Thomas Tuchel strategy debunked

“If clubs are dropping out of the race then it might give them a better opportunity to do a deal with Brighton.

“De Zerbi has worked with him before and might feel he can get the best out of him and get him back to playing at his top level again.

“I don’t think the deal would be worth anywhere near what Brighton were asking for him last summer, that was never going to be realistic whoever was interested.

“That relationship with De Zerbi is the reason I think a move to Tottenham would be perfect for him to go and reignite his career, because he seemed to go backward

“A new environment with a manager who knows him well might be just what he needs, that’s going to be the most important thing for him.”

Tottenham 'reach agreements' for third, fourth signings as Romano confirms Senesi done - Football365
Description

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur have ‘agreed’ personal terms with Jan Paul van Hecke and Savinho as their third and fourth summer signings.

After coming within a couple of points of suffering relegation from the Premier League in 2025/26, Tottenham have been active in the transfer market to improve Roberto De Zerbi’s squad.

De Zerbi played a pivotal role as Spurs secured their Premier League status, but he insisted in the hours following their final day win over Everton that they need to do a lot of business this summer.

Initially, Spurs have focused on landing free agents, with Fabrizio Romano confirming over the weekend that Marcos Senesi from AFC Bournemouth will be their second addition after the arrival of Liverpool legend Andy Robertson.

#THFC.’

Spurs turn to Savinho and Van Hecke next

It has also been reported that the north London side are trying to sign Joao Palhinha permanently, while Romano also stated that their move for Man City winger Savinho could be completed “quite soon”.

And journalist Nicolo Schira stated on Sunday that Savinho is ‘getting closer’ to Spurs after they ‘reached an agreement’ on a five-year contract.

Schira said on X: ‘#Savinho is getting closer to #Tottenham from #ManchesterCity. Roberto #DeZerbi wants him and the winger has already reached an agreement in principle with #THFC for a contract until 2031.’

Regarding Van Hecke, Brighton chief Paul Barber has stated that Spurs have failed with “two bids” for the centre-back, who previously worked under De Zerbi for the Premier League club.

But Dutch reporter Joost Blaauwhof has stated that Van Hecke has also ‘agreed personal terms’ with Tottenham.

He said on X: “NEWS: Jan Paul van Hecke is out. It’s Spurs and only Spurs. The Oranje international is awaiting agreement between Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur, but is no longer speaking with any other club. Personal terms agreed. More to follow…”

Despite this, Barber has warned Spurs that the deal for Van Hecke “has to be right for us”.

“There’s always going to be a lot of interest in our best players, and certainly in the case of Jan Paul,” Barber told talkSPORT.

“We’ve been very clear that that interest has been ongoing for a while, it’s coming from multiple sources.

“Yes, we have rejected a bid from Tottenham over the last week or so, in fact, two bids.

“From that point of view, it has to be right for us as well as the player.

“We have to be in a position to make the best trades to suit our model and also to make sure that we’re supporting Fabian [Hurzeler], because he’s got another big season ahead of him.

“He’s had two seasons in the Premier League, he’s finished eighth on both occasions, this time we’ve been fortunate enough to qualify for a European competition.

“We want to go as deep in that competition as we can, while also doing well in the Premier League.

“To do that, we need to make sure Fabian’s got the best possible squad and we’ve got the right balance between the young players that typically we like to bring in and develop, and the more experienced players like Pascal Gross and others, who can actually help us progress in all of the competitions that we’re in.

“As always, it’s a balancing act, and hopefully this summer we can work hard to pull it off again.”

Description

Tottenham are on course to seal a third summer signing after Fabrizio Romano revealed a deal for Marco Senesi is done.

Spurs narrowly avoided relegation on the final day of the Premier League season as a 1-0 win over Everton confirmed their Premier League status for next season.

Tottenham finished two points ahead of 18th-placed West Ham, who were relegated to the Championship, and now Spurs are taking to steps to avoid a repeat performance next season.

Spurs announced earlier this week that Andy Robertson is joining on a free transfer from Liverpool as they look to add experience to their squad.

A deal for Bournemouth centre-back Marco Senesi has been in the pipeline for a long time and now Romano has confirmed that the Argentina international has completed his move to Tottenham.

Romano wrote on X: ‘Tottenham have completed their double free agent signings as planned since April. After Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi joins on a four year deal until June 2030 — never in doubt, no chance for hijacks as Marcos said yes to Spurs weeks ago. Medical done today. #THFC.’

Tottenham have been bidding for Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke with their opening offer rejected by the Seagulls earlier this week.

And a deal to sign Manchester City winger Savinho could be closer with Romano expecting the transfer to be completed “quite soon”.

Speaking about the latest on Spurs’ move for Savinho, Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Savinho was ready to go to Tottenham one year ago.

Romano added: “Tottenham today announced Andy Robertson. Soon Tottenham will announce also Marco Senesi as a new centre-back joining from Bournemouth. So Tottenham very busy to give Roberto De Zerbi what he wants.”

Tottenham fans ‘need to hear is honesty and transparency’

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness thinks Tottenham chief executive Vinai Venkatesham showed a lack of leadership in his statement at the end of the season.

Wyness told Football Insider: “I think he (Venkatesham) would have been well-advised to have come out and taken part of the blame for this. I think you’ve got to, if you’re going to be the one who makes those tough decisions.

“Despite the fact that there have been well-documented ownership changes, Vinai has got to admit that he would have been part of those sorts of changes.

“The one thing that the fans need to hear is honesty and transparency. And they’ll get behind you if you’re honest and tell the truth. I think he might have been better served doing that.

“The ground is moving under him pretty quickly, but the fact is, I don’t think there’s going to be any sackings or anything like that. But I think it’s a lot of politics going on right now at Spurs, given what happened last season.”
