Two bumbling English Premier League squads look to grab some points on Thursday, as Tottenham Hotspur plays host to Crystal Palace.

It is crazy to think that the Spurs could be in the relegation conversation. Despite finishing near the bottom of the league last year, Tottenham had such a good start to the 2025-26 campaign, giving many the belief that they could qualify for the UEFA Champions League once again.

Yet, that has not been the case. The Spurs have spiraled over the last few months, looking far from anything resembling an EPL club. Following a 2-1 loss to Fulham on Sunday, Tottenham has lost four straight matches in league play, having not won in 10 straight EPL contests.

Now, the team has to fight its way to stay in the Premiership. Heading into the week, Tottenham is 16th in the table, just four points ahead of West Ham for 18th, the first relegation position.

There was a moment earlier this season where Crystal Palace looked like they could challenge for a top-five spot in the EPL. However, the Eagles fell back down to Earth over the last little while. The team suffered a tough loss to Manchester United on Sunday, with Crystal Palace now having won just two of its past 12 league matches, going 2-4-6 over that span.

The Eagles come into Thursday 14th in the league, six points ahead of Tottenham.

The Spurs won the first meeting of the season just after Christmas at Selhurst Park.

The FA Cup has been around for well over 150 years, and gives every club a chance to compete on a national scale. From the English Premier League to the several non-league clubs, every club has a chance to represent its town on a grand stage.

The third round is the first to feature clubs from the EPL and Championship, adding a little bit of spice to the single-elimination tournament.

Aston Villa is doing its part in staying near the top of the charts in the EPL. With nine wins over their past 10 matches in league play, the Lions are sitting comfortably in third in the table. Aston Villa is looking to replicate its performance in the FA Cup from last year, where it made it to the semifinals for the first time in 10 years.

Tottenham has been on quite a downturn in league action. After a relatively strong start to the season, the club has won just two of its last 11 matches in EPL play. The Spurs are hoping a strong performance in the FA Cup can turn their fortunes around.

Tottenham Hotspur is desperate for a positive result on Saturday afternoon, as the club prepares to cap off Saturday’s English Premier League slate with a clash against Fulham.

The Spurs are just a few days removed from a tough battle in UEFA Champions League play against the defending champions, Paris Saint-Germain. The club is hoping to put recent league results behind them, as Tottenham has gone from a potential top-four team to one that is stumbling down the table.

The Spurs lost last weekend in a rough North London derby, falling 4-1 to Arsenal last Sunday. Tottenham has gone winless in three consecutive EPL contests, and four of the team’s last five.

Fulham has been unable to find consistency to stay in the upper half of the table and is now becoming part of the relegation conversation. Yet, the Cottagers are doing what they need to do to stay out of the bottom three, winning two of their past three matches, including a 1-0 win over Sunderland last weekend.

The Spurs are ninth in the EPL, three points out of fourth place. Fulham is 15th in the table, three points ahead of 18th-place Leeds.

After a terrible 2024-25 season, Tottenham is looking like a club not to be taken lightly this year. With some reinforcements and overall a better standard of play, the Spurs have the potential of finishing in the top four, making a solid run at competing in the UEFA Champions League again next season.

Despite falling to Newcastle United in their fourth-round tie in the Carabao Cup earlier this week, Tottenham has its sights set on grabbing another win in league play. The club has won two of its past three EPL contests, earning points in seven straight as well.

Chelsea has stumbled a little bit this season. After a return to form last year, the club has not been able to find the consistency to be with the upper echelon of the league. Last Saturday, the Blues dropped a disappointing 2-1 decision at the hands of Sunderland, snapping a short two-game win streak that included a victory over defending league champion Liverpool.

Two clubs look for an important win on Sunday in English Premier League action, as Tottenham Hotspur returns home to face Aston Villa.

Tottenham has been away from its own grounds for over two weeks as the NFL has been in north London for its annual games. The Spurs hope to use home cooking to gain some more momentum and stay near the top of the league table.

EPL STREAMING OPTIONS

The Spurs are coming off a tough 2-1 victory over Leeds United two weeks ago, which shortly followed a draw against Bodo/Glimt in the club’s second match of the UEFA Champions League. Tottenham has points in four straight EPL contests, going 2-2-0 over that span.

Aston Villa has struggled to find the same level of success thus far as it did last year. Though the team is coming off a victory over Burnley, there does not seem to be the same level of camaraderie as there had been previously. The Lions have points in four straight league matches, including beating Fulham three weeks ago.

The Spurs are currently fourth in the EPL, while Aston Villa is down in 13th, despite being just five points back.

There is only one English Premier League match and it pits one club trying to stay in the top four against a squad trying to spoil the fun, as Chelsea takes on Tottenham Hotspur in a London derby clash.

After a couple of years of being a laughingstock for being a mediocre team with a high payroll, Chelsa is hanging with the best of the league. With just a handful of contests remaining, the Blues have a shot at qualifying for next year’s UEFA Champions League.

Despite losing another London derby before the international break to Arsenal a few weeks back, Chelsea is still in good standing. The team sits fourth in the table, though just one point ahead of Manchester City.

Things have not been great in North London. The Spurs have struggled through the entire season, leading to the team suffering the most losses in a single season in three decades. Tottenham went into the break going winless in three straight matches, including a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Fulham.

Two legendary clubs who have been playing well below expectations meet up to put a wrap on the weekend slate of English Premier League action on Sunday as Tottenham Hotspur hosts Manchester United.

Both teams jump back into EPL action after suffering differing results during the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Spurs ended up on the wrong end of a 2-1 final score against Aston Villa, while Manchester United avoided disaster by narrowly defeating lowly Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The victory in domestic action might give the Red Devils a little bit of confidence in a season where not much has gone right for the club. They went into the break after getting clean-sheeted by Crystal Palace at home two weeks ago. ManU has lost five of its last eight league matches, though have a recent draw with Liverpool and a win over Manchester City two months ago.

The Spurs had fallen in four consecutive EPL matches before defeating Brentford two weeks ago. It snapped a seven-match winless skid for Tottenham, in which the club went 0-1-6 over that span.

The Spurs sit 14th in table, two points behind the Red Devils, and 10 ahead of Leicester City for the first relegation spot in the Premier League. Manchester United is 12 points back of sixth place, the last European position in the league table.

After years of competing for a spot in European competition, the Spurs are making sure they stay as far away from the bottom three as they can. A lackluster start to the 2024-25 season, paired with a stretch in December that saw the club go winless in four of five matches, Tottenham finds itself well on its way to the organization’s worst finish since the 2007-08 campaign, when they finished 11th.

Tottenham came into the weekend on a six-match winless drought, going 0-1-5 during this stretch, including 3-2 loss to Everton last Sunday. They are 15th in the EPL, eight points ahead of 18th-place Ipswich Town.

Leicester City’s return to the Premier League this season has not been grand by any stretch. Seemingly picking up right where they left off when they were relegated to the Championship two years ago, the Foxes have not been able to string enough wins together to stay out of the relegation zone. After losing 2-0 to Fulham last weekend, Leicester has lost seven matches in a row and has not won since Dec. 3.

The Foxes are 19th in the standings, two points back of 17th place.

The Spurs are 61-22-38 against the Foxes, though Leicester held Tottenham to a draw in their first meeting in August.
