FANS were left furious with TNT Sports after they suffered a technical blunder during Tottenham's 2-1 win over Ferencvaros.

Ange Postecoglou's men travelled to Hungary off the back of four wins in a row in all competitions.

But as Spurs got underway in their second Europa League game of the season, viewers were more drawn to the sound of the commentary.

The audio was several seconds behind the pictures, making for bizarre coverage of the match.

There also appeared to be something of an echo coming from those in the commentary box.

And fans were quick to comment on social media as they took aim at TNT Sports.

One said: "I thought it was just me. New to the service and not impressed with the sound delay".

Another added: "@tntsports fix your audio!!😡🤬"

A third replied: "Fix up your audio TNT. Ruining the game 😂😂".

While a fourth responded: "@tntsports sort out the commentary on the Spurs game please 😭😭 it’s so behind".

And a fifth joked: "My TNT Sports audio is so far behind that Lamela just scored a rabona from outside the box…"

Pape Matar Sarr’s scored the opener before sub Brennan Johnson added a second as the North Londoners ran out 2-1 winners.

Fans rage at 'worst offside decision I've ever seen' after Tottenham are let off against Ferencvaros

FOOTBALL fans couldn't believe that Ferencvaros' opener against Tottenham in the Europa League was ruled out for offside.

Ferencvaros forward Barnabas Varga nodded home in the 17th minute only for the officials chalk it off for offside.

The Hungarian champions had been on top of Ange Postecoglou's side in the opening exchanges and a delicious cross from Eldar Civic was placed perfectly onto Varga's head.

The striker did great to direct it into the far corner and put his side a goal up but soon had his celebrations cut short by a VAR check for offside.

The immediate replay looked to show that Varga was being played onside by Cristian Romero, but the goal was disallowed after a lengthy check.

The TNT Sports commentary team speculated that it could have been because Adama Malouda Traore, who didn't touch the ball, was deemed to have interfered with play from an offside position.

Traore was significantly offside but didn't appear to have much, if any, of an influence on the passage of play.

However it was confirmed afterwards that Varga was indeed offside and it was just the camera angle that was making him look as though he was onside.

At half-time TNT pundit Joe Cole described it as an "optical illusion".

However, that didn't stop fans from taking to social media to fume at the decision.

One wrote: "That is an outrageous decision. How is that offside?"

While another added: "Think that’s the worst offside decision i have ever seen".

A third posted: "He's given offside, Tottenham have got away with one there".

And a fourth fumed: "That's the most ridiculous offside I've ever seen".

To make matters even more controversial, just six minutes later Spurs took the lead through Pape Matar Sarr.

Tottenham held onto that lead heading into the break, meaning their inexperienced side - which featured four teenagers - were able to take an advantage into the second half.

Captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off in the first half for fouling James Maddison, forcing Erik Ten Hag’s side to play with 10 men against Ange Postecoglou’s team.

After back-to-back draws against Crystal Palace and FC Twente fans hoped United would redeem themselves against Spurs.

However, the match at Old Trafford quickly turned sour. Brennan Johnson scored early and things worsened when Fernandes was sent off allowing Spurs to extend their lead to 3-0.

And here is how SunSports Charlie Wyett rated the Manchester United stars.

Andre Onana - 5

Stood his ground to deliver a good save from Timo Werner who was clean through - no chance for either goal.

Noussair Mazraoui - 5

First in the refs’ book for chopping down Destiny Udogie. Could also have blocked Micky van de Ven for the goal. Just watched Solanke make it 3-0.

Matthijs de Ligt - 4

Shocking first half. Failed to cut out the cross from Micky van de Ven which led to the first goal.

Lisandro Martinez - 5

Switched off for the Spurs goal and was drawn to the ball and Johnson was left unmarked.

Diogo Dalot - 5

Gave the ball away in dangerous areas and struggled against Johnson.

Manuel Ugarte - 5

Suffered a stinker and was lucky to last until the 73rd minute.

Kobbie Mainoo - 5

Not one of his better performances and was taken off just before half-time following Fernandes’ sending-off.

Marcus Rashford - 5

Over-ran the ball for Tottenham’s first. Way off the pace.

Bruno Fernandes - 4

Arguably the worst captain in United’s history. Deserved red card for his challenge on James Maddison.

Alejandro Garnacho - 6

Had United’s only chance in the first half but hit the outside of the post. Improved in the second half.

Joshua Zirkzee - 5

Looked completely lost up front - threatening to be another poor Erik ten Hag signing. Replaced at half-time.

Subs:

Mount (for Mainoo 45) 5, Casemiro (for Zirkzee 46) 7, Hojlund (for Rashford 73) 5, Eriksen (for Ugarte 73) 5.

Fans stunned as Arne Slot 'cooks' Man Utd with savage statement after Red Devils' Tottenham humiliation

ARNE SLOT has heaped more misery on Manchester United by claiming they are not a "top team".

The Dutch coach, 46, led his Liverpool side to a comfortable 3-0 win at Old Trafford last month.

And on Sunday that feat was replicated by Tottenham as they demolished Erik ten Hag's men in front of a frustrated set of Red Devils supporters.

Liverpool sit top of the Premier League table after picking up 16 points from their opening six games under Slot.

Yet the former Feyenoord boss has claimed his side are yet to face a "top league table team" - a passing shot at Man Utd who are languishing in the bottom half in 13th place.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's Champions League clash with Bologna on Wednesday, he said: "One of the reasons why we can compete is because we have a lot of quality. I also see a lot of team cohesion in the team.

"If we score I also see the ones that don't play are really happy with us scoring and winning. Those are two really positive things.

"But I also see things we definitely have to improve if we want to stay where we are with the fixture list that's coming up.

"Like I said, every fixture is difficult in the Premier League but everybody tells me that a top league table team is a bit more difficult than a low league table team, which we can all understand and we haven't faced one of them yet.

"So we have to do things better, but one of the reasons why we can stay up there is because we have a lot of players with a lot of individual quality."

Slot's comments have left football fans utterly stunned as they reacted to his jibe at Man Utd.

One said: "No way he just cooked Manchester United 😭😭😭😭."

Another added: "He bodied that 13th placed club."

A third replied: "Bro called United a small team 😭😭."

And a fourth responded: "See the stray bullet thrown at Manchester United 😂."

Why Man United should sack Erik Ten Hag after tactical horror show let Spurs run riot at Old Trafford

Submitted by daniel on

MANCHESTER UNITED were thrashed 3-0 by Tottenham with Erik Ten Hag's men run ragged for most of Sunday afternoon.

The under-fire boss got the vote of confidence over the summer and signed a new contract - but after just six Premier League games into the new season, he is once again facing the sack.

Spurs carved the Red Devils open for the first time after just three minutes when Micky van de Ven's stunning run set Brennan Johnson up for a tap-in.

And it proved a sign of things to come as United's tactics proved disastrous.

Despite being down to ten men, there were huge red flags and there might be no way back for Ten Hag - or Diogo Dalot.

Poor pressing

Man Utd defend in a 4-4-2 shape but get the system horribly wrong.

Their defensive lines are so far apart and Rodrigo Bentancur had a field day from kick off.

The two that lead United's press put no pressure on the ball and Tottenham could find a man in midfield to start attacks with ease.

Bentancur had the freedom of Old Trafford and gave Spurs a numerical advantage in the centre of the park as Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte were occupied by Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison.

Bruno Fernandes, while he was on the pitch, then started chasing the ball and left Pedro Porro unmarked. It was shambolic.

FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS

Surely, he should have dropped deeper to go 3 vs 3 in midfield?

Either the tactics are wrong or the players are not carrying them out properly - either way it is bad for Ten Hag.

Ugarte's nightmare

Spurs attack using the half spaces - between the centre and the wings.

But United did not block these corridors effectively and new boy Ugarte - brought in to bring some stability - struggled against Maddison and looked unsure where he needed to be.

They were also pressed relentlessly as Ange Postecoglou's side had triggers for when to close down - if Dominic Solanke can get after the ball, the whole team squeezes with him.

Horror mistakes

Van de Ven's run is exceptional - but he is allowed to go driving into that half-space corridor.

Noussair Mazraoui is sold a dummy by Timo Werner's run and Ugarte does not come across in time.

Matthijs de Ligt fails to cut off the marauding run as Solanke cleverly drags Lisandro Martinez out of position to give Johnson space for the tap-in at the far post.

But Dalot must hang his head in shame. As Van de Ven sets off, he is level with the eventual goalscorer on the half-way line on the opposite flank.

Yet by the time the ball goes into the back of the net, Dalot is about ten yards behind Johnson.

He switches off and gives up - it cannot be a lack of pace given the size of the gap - and is already apologising seemingly before it becomes 1-0.

An unforgivable lack of discipline and effort, fans in the Stretford End could be forgiven for not wanting to see last season's player of the year again.

Kulusevski's genius

Insanely fit Kulusevski covers so much ground and against Man Utd was getting close to Solanke to support him.

With Ugarte and Mainoo already occupied, the Swedish midfielder drifted inside and gave them another headache.

His incredible stats show he created NINE chances during the game - four more than any United player has managed IN TOTAL at Old Trafford this season.

It further underlined how United failed to get a grip in Sunday's mauling.

Onana keeps the score down

From Ten Hag's perspective, thankfully Werner played instead of Heung-min Son or it could have been 6 or 7.

The ex-Chelsea man missed several huge chances - but Onana should get credit for the saves he made.

Werner has lost confidence in his finishing and the keeper charged out quickly when he was through on goal before stopping to narrow the angle down and make the save.

A solitary positive on a bleak day for the United flops and their manager, who appear to be completely out of sync and out of ideas.

Tottenham slam their own fans for ‘hugely offensive’ homophobic chanting during Man Utd game – The Sun

TOTTENHAM Hotspur have slammed their owns fans for "hugely offensive" homophobic chanting during their game against Manchester United.

Bruno Fernandes saw red as Spurs cruised past the misfiring Red Devils 3-0 at Old Trafford and increased the heat on manager Erik ten Hag.

But homophobic chanting was said to have been launched at Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

It is understood to have read: "Dom Solanke is f*** class, Mik Arteta takes it up the a***, 60 million down the drain, Dom Solanke scores again."

A club statement said: "The Club is aware of abhorrent homophobic chanting from sections of our away support at Old Trafford today.

"This is simply unacceptable, hugely offensive and no way to show support for the team.

"The Club will be working closely with the Police and stewards to identify anyone instigating or joining in with the chanting - we shall take the strongest possible action in accordance with our Sanctions and Banning Policy.

"Supporters in attendance today can report anything they’ve seen or heard in confidence to supporterservices@tottenhamhotspur.com.

"We shall be continuing our work with our LGBTQ+ supporters’ association, Proud Lilywhites, to ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans on matchdays.

"We are justly proud of our superb and loyal support, home and away.

"However, we all have a responsibility to act as ambassadors of Tottenham Hotspur and discrimination of any kind has no place at our Club."

Sunday's Old Trafford encounter was a chance for these top-four hopefuls to kickstart campaigns that had begun in similarly topsy-turvy fashion.

But a month that started for United with a 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool ended in another Old Trafford loss by the same scoreline as Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke struck for Spurs.

Skipper Fernandes' sending off for a challenge on James Maddison at the end of a one-sided first half compounded matters, ruling him out of next weekend's trip to Aston Villa and two further matches.

Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount also went off injured on a nightmare afternoon for Ten Hag, who is under the spotlight as United head to Porto and Villa Park before the international break.

Man Utd flops BOOED off after Tottenham humiliation as Ten Hag matches horror Moyes record

MANCHESTER UNITED were booed off the Old Trafford pitch after an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Tottenham.

Erik ten Hag's men were humbled by Spurs on Sunday as goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke handed the visitors a comfortable victory.

To make matters worse, captain Bruno Fernandes will now miss games against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham after being shown a straight red card for a challenge on James Maddison.

And midfielder Kobbie Mainoo also suffered a blow as he went off injured in the first half.

Yet it is the stats from their start to the season as a whole which really show just how dire things are for Ten Hag and Man Utd.

Three losses, one draw and just two wins equals the torrid start David Moyes experienced at the beginning of the 2013/14 campaign.

The tally of seven points mirrors their struggles 11 years ago - while they picked up the same amount after six games in the 2020/21 season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And it means they have matched their worst ever Premier League start - a record that stretches back to their 1989/90 campaign under Sir Alex Ferguson.

They sit 13th in the table, one place lower than they were under Moyes at the same point.

Another damning stat is Man Utd have now lost more Premier League matches by three or more goals since Ferguson left - 23 in 424 matches - than they did in 1,035 league games under the iconic Red Devils boss.

CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERS

Liverpool and Tottenham have both scored more goals at Old Trafford in the Premier League this season than Man Utd - three compared to just one.

Kulusevski created nine chances in the match, the most by an opposition player in a Premier League game at Old Trafford since records began 21 years ago.

And Man Utd did not manage a single touch in Tottenham's box in the first 60 minutes of the game.

Ten Hag is now the favourite to become the first Premier League manager to be sacked this season.

Next up for Man Utd is a trip to Porto in the Europa League on Thursday, before they go away to Aston Villa in their final match before the October international break.
