Chelsea confirm Spurs friendly in Australia just 13 days after World Cup final - The Sun
Description

CHELSEA have confirmed they will face Spurs in pre-season, in AUSTRALIA…

And should any Blues or Spurs stars make it to the World Cup final, which is more than likely, they may face missing some of the tour.

That’s because the Sydney Super Cup kicks off just 13 days after the final in New York.

Any players who make it to the World Cup final would likely need some form of summer break before pre-season, similar to what we saw with the Club World Cup this year.

After beating PSG and becoming World Champions, the Blues stars were given a three-week break before they returned to training.

The tournament in July and August is made up of four teams: Chelsea, Spurs, Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC.

The Blues will take on Western Sydney Wanderers on 28th July, and then Thomas Frank‘s side on 1st August.

It will mark the first time Chelsea have ever faced London rivals Spurs outside of the UK.

With seven games played in the A-League, Sydney FC sit at the top of the tree, with their Sydney rivals in 9th.

Matches will be played at the Accor Stadium for the men’s team, while the women will play at the Allianz Stadium.

Those three matches will form only part of the pre-season tour for our men’s and women’s sides, with details of additional matches and locations announced in the coming months.

CFCW stars Sam Kerr and Ellie Carpenter will get a homecoming in Aus, facing many of their national team teammates, when Chelsea Women play the A-League All Stars Women.

Enzo Maresca‘s side was almost set to reunite with Blues legend Juan Mata, who played for Western Sydney Wanderers until this season and has now moved to Melbourne Victory.

As for other recognisable faces for UK fans, former Nottingham Forest striker Joe Lolley plays for Sydney FC, as does ex-Portsmouth and Stoke City defender Alex Grant.

Pete Nuttall, director of travel and touring, Chelsea FC, said: ‘We look forward to travelling to Sydney as part of our pre-season tour to take part in what is going to be a fantastic competition and celebration of football, as we make our preparations for the 2026/27 season.’

Wannabe WAG blackmailer who conned £200k out of Spurs legend Son Heung-min claiming she was having his BABY is jailed

Wannabe WAG blackmailer who claimed she was having Son Heung-min baby jailed - The Sun
Description

A WOMAN who allegedly spun a fantasy of being pregnant with Son Heung-min’s child to squeeze cash out of the ex-Spurs legend has been jailed.

Prosecutors say the scammer bled the South Korea captain for £200,000 and then tried to hit him again for more.

The Seoul Central District Court ruled that the woman, identified only as Yang, weaponised Son’s fame and “vulnerability” to commit an extortion scheme that caused him “significant mental anguish.”

Prosecutors said Yang, a wannabe WAG in her 20s, sent Son an ultrasound image and allegedly threatened to go public with claims she was carrying his baby unless he paid up.

Yonhap news agency reported she pocketed the cash and blew it on luxury and designer goods before returning this year with an accomplice to allegedly demand another £35,000 (70 million won).

She has now been jailed for four years.

Her male co-conspirator, identified as Yong, was sentenced to two years behind bars.

Both have been in custody since May.

Judge Im Jeong-bin said Yang had taken “extreme measures” to smear Son’s reputation.

“It was not limited to simple threats or demands for money – she went further by taking action, such as informing the media and advertising agencies, exploiting Son’s status as a public figure,” Im said.

Son, the judge added, “suffered considerable psychological distress as a result of the case becoming public.”

The player, now with Los Angeles FC after leaving Tottenham in a record MLS transfer earlier this year, appeared at a closed trial session last month and gave testimony, local media reported.

The court noted Yang never confirmed who the child’s father was, and it remains unclear whether she was ever pregnant.

Local outlets have speculated the alleged pregnancy was terminated.

Son had previously known the woman, according to past statements from his agency, which said he was hit with a demand for money backed by “fabricated materials.”

Spurs' Yves Bissouma faces axe after he's filmed inhaling laughing gas AGAIN as he deletes club mentions from socials - The Sun
Description

SPURS ace Yves Bissouma is facing the axe after he was filmed inhaling laughing gas — a year after being suspended for the same thing.

The Premier League side last night confirmed they had launched a probe after footage emerged of the midfielder using a nitrous oxide balloon at a party.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old has removed all reference to Spurs from his Instagram account, sparking speculation among supporters.

The latest footage, which appears to have been filmed in the early hours of November 3, was sent to a woman who had been invited to join him at the party in London.

She told The Sun on Sunday: “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

“Bissouma was openly inhaling from the balloon even though he had been in trouble before for doing this.”

It comes after The Sun revealed videos in August last year of the player inhaling so-called “hippy crack” which he posted on his own Snapchat.

It led to him being suspended by Tottenham while he issued an apology for his “severe lack of judgement”.

Bissouma, who is also the captain of Mali’s national team, is now facing the prospect of tougher disciplinary action.

Use of nitrous oxide can lead to brain disorders, depression, memory loss, incontinence, hallucinations and nerve damage.

It is illegal to supply the class C drug under new tightened laws, with offenders facing up to 14 years behind bars.

Bissouma, a £30million signing from Brighton in 2022, has been struggling with injury and has not started for Spurs so far this season.

In August, manager Thomas Frank left him out of the squad for the UEFA Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain for persistent lateness.

Bissouma played for Mali in October but was stretchered off with an ankle injury just minutes after coming on.

Spurs officials sent him to the FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence in Qatar last month to continue his rehabilitation. He was expected back on the pitch in the next few weeks.

He was also hoping to travel to Morocco later this month to play in the Africa Cup of Nations.

At the time of his suspension last summer, Bissouma said: “I want to apologise for these videos.

“This was a severe lack of judgment. I understand how serious this is and the health risks involved.

“I also take my responsibilities as a footballer and a role model very seriously.”

A Spurs spokesman said of the new video: “We are looking into the events and it will be dealt with as an internal matter.”

Bissouma was approached for comment.

Spurs ace Destiny Udogie was left shaken after ‘being threatened with a gun’ - The Sun
Description

PREMIER League ace Destiny Udogie has told how he was left shaken after allegedly being threatened with a gun.

The Tottenham star, 22, revealed the terrifying incident on a street in North London in September “was not something I’d wish on anyone”.

The Sun first revealed how a top-flight footballer was targeted last month.

Tottenham later confirmed the player was Udogie.

Udogie, speaking about the incident for the first time, told The Athletic: “The club showed me good support and was next to me every day.

“I’m really grateful to them for what they have done and for keeping me and my family safe. It’s really good for me.

“Obviously, it was important (to feel that support). Because it’s a new city for me. It’s my third year (at Spurs) but obviously London is a big city.

“So to be here with my family and my daughter, it’s good to have the club around me.”

Asked if he was shaken by the incident, Udogie added: “Yeah, of course. It was not something I’d wish on anyone.

“It was a shock. But it’s OK, now we look forward.”

A 31-year-old man who works as a football agent was arrested on suspicion of making threats with a firearm and remains on police bail.

At the time, Spurs boss Thomas Frank said: “It is a terrible situation to have been in and I can’t speak too much about it as it’s a legal case, as we know, but the club and we have done everything we can to support him.

“He’s clearly doing well on the pitch, which is good and we’ll keep supporting him.”

Tottenham move closer to major stadium change as they appoint chief who worked on huge deal for Premier League rivals

Tottenham move closer to stadium change as they hire chief who worked for rivals - The Sun
Description

TOTTENHAM chiefs are on the hunt for a new stadium sponsor – six years after the £1billion venue’s opening.

Former Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was heavily criticised for his failure to secure naming rights for the north London ground.

However, the Lewis family – who seized full control of the club from Levy when he stepped away in September – have made it a top priority.

The Telegraph revealed this week that Tottenham have appointed Alex Scotcher as the club’s new commercial director.

Scotcher will officially start his new role in January and joins from sports and entertainment consultancy firm Elevate, where he was the senior vice-president of global partnerships for over three years. .

He also worked on deals for Everton and Valencia, including the negotiation which saw the Hill Dickinson Stadium named earlier this year.

Scotcher and Elevate secured a decade-long deal reportedly worth £10million-a-year.

Discussing the agreement at the time, he said: “When we talk about what that venue was and how we took it to market, it was [positioned as] a sports and entertainment destination where Premier League football was on the menu.

“But we’ve also got major touring artists, a 20,000-person capacity fan plaza in one of Europe’s most exciting, vibrant, burgeoning cities.‍

“We talked about it less as a football stadium, and more about a fully programmed 365 sports and entertainment destination.

“I think that meant that the conversations we had with brands and the stakeholders on the brand side were slightly different from who we’d typically engage with if we were representing a football club or pure footballing assets.”

SunSport understands Scotcher has been brought in as commercial director, but not specifically with the remit to get naming rights.

Levy allegedly failed to secure Tottenham Hotspur Stadium naming rights during his tenure because he set the price too high.

The Telegraph previously claimed he wanted a world-record 15-year commitment worth £25m-a-year.

Due to the inability to find a partner, it is estimated that Spurs have missed out on around £60m worth of revenue so far.

Tottenham currently sit 11th in the Premier League table with 19 points from 14 games.

‘Sonny’s coming home’: Spurs confirm Son Heung-min return months after LAFC move - The Sun
Description

SON HEUNG-MIN is heading back to Tottenham – just FOUR MONTHS after his exit for LAFC.

The Spurs legend and Europa League winning captain will return to his old stomping ground for the first time since his MLS exit next week.

The attacker will be in attendance at the Champions League clash with SK Slavia Praha and will take to the pitch before the two teams emerge ahead of the 8pm kick-off on Tuesday, December 9.

He will then have the chance to address the fans who have adored him over the years in what is bound to be an emotional occasion for the South Korea legend.

Not only that, but working alongside the Fan Advisory Board, work is underway on a street mural on Tottenham High Road to further celebrate the legacy of the club hero.

That is due to be completed in time for his appearance in North London with the design chosen by Sonny himself.

He said: “When I announced my difficult decision to leave Spurs in the summer, it was in Korea and I never got a proper chance to say goodbye to fans at the stadium.

“Now I am so happy because I am going to come back to London on 9th December, for the Champions League match, and be able to tell the Spurs fans in person just how much their support and love over 10 years has meant to me and my family.

“It will be emotional, but it’s important for me and the club that this happens.”

A Tottenham statement reads: “Heung-Min Son will return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time since leaving the club to bid farewell to our home fans at our UEFA Champions League fixture with SK Slavia Praha on Tuesday 9 December.

“Our legendary former captain, who led the side to Europa League glory in Bilbao in May, announced his departure in August during our summer tour in his home nation of South Korea, playing his final game in a Spurs shirt in front of a sold-out Seoul World Cup stadium in front of his adoring Korean following.

“Having then made the move straight to Los Angeles FC in the MLS – where he scored an impressive nine goals in 10 games before exiting the competition at the play-off stage in defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps on 23 November – Sonny has chosen the Slavia fixture as his opportunity to return to London and say his goodbyes to the Spurs faithful.

“Sonny will take to the pitch before the team walk-outs ahead of the 20:00 kick-off against the Czech champions.

“He will then have the opportunity to personally address the supporters that took him into their hearts following his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and treasured him for the next 10 years – it is sure to be an emotional occasion in N17.”

Guglielmo Vicario ‘considering leaving Tottenham’ just days after goalkeeper booed by his own fans

Guglielmo Vicario 'considering leaving Tottenham' just days after goalkeeper booed by his own fans - The Sun
Description

GUGLIELMO VICARIO is reportedly considering a move away from Tottenham after falling out of favour with fans.

The 29-year-old has continued to underwhelm in a struggling team this season.

And his campaign hit a low point on Saturday when Spurs suffered a 2-1 defeat to Fulham at home.

The goalkeeper came out of his box to clear the ball but instead passed it to Joshua King who assisted Harry Wilson for what was ultimately the winner.

Tottenham went on to lose and Vicario was booed by his own fans.

In the wake of the incident, the goalkeeper is now being linked with a move away from north London.

Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that Vicario is seriously questioning his future at Tottenham and considering a move back to Italy.

Inter Milan are reportedly considering a swoop for him along with some other Serie A clubs.

The Italian currently has two-and-a-half years left on his deal, meaning Spurs would likely entertain a significant fee.

He signed for Spurs in the summer of 2023 following a £16million transfer from Empoli.

The goalkeeper has since made 94 first team appearances and helped the club win their first trophy in decades last term.

He started for Spurs in the Europa League final as they beat Manchester United 1-0 at San Mames Stadium in May.

Antonin Kinsky currently plays back-up to Vicario for Tottenham, with Brandon Austin the third-choice keeper.
