Several Celtic youngsters, including Ben Doak, Aidan Borland, and Rocco Vata, have moved south of the border in recent years.

Meanwhile, two of Celtic's academy graduates, Dane Murray and Colby Donovan, played in the club's Champions League playoff defeat to Kairat Almaty on Tuesday.

Murray came on in the 75th minute, replacing Kieran Tierney, while Donovan substituted for Anthony Ralston in extra time.

Both players performed well, but Celtic were ultimately knocked out of the competition on penalties.

Manager Brendan Rodgers said: "It's hugely disappointing, and I really feel for the supporters that travelled all the way to be here, the effort and the commitment that they've shown to be here.

"We're bitterly disappointed for them as well as ourselves because the Champions League is a wonderful competition and we've seen that last year, we've seen the progress.

"But yeah, we would just have to, as we always do, we have to stick together as a squad and as a team and reflect on this, and we've got a huge game at the weekend.

"So yeah, it's a tough one to take.

"We didn't do enough over the two games."

The teenager is set to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on loan this summer.

And Daily Telegraph reporter, Matt Law, claims that Ibrox is his likely destination.

He wrote on X: "Rangers have emerged as favourites to sign Mikey Moore on loan from Tottenham.

"There's been a lot of interest, particularly from the Championship, but Rangers seen as most likely destination."

Moore emerged in the Spurs first team last season under the tutelage of Ange Postecoglou.

New boss Thomas Frank is keen for the young striker to continue his development with regular game time.

Moore has made 21 senior appearances for the North London club, scoring once, and providing two assists.

Russell Martin last week insisted that he was confident his Rangers squad would have a fresh look to it by the end of August.

So, it seems Moore will be one of the latest names to join in his Ibrox rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The former Celtic manager was dismissed by Tottenham Hotspur just over a week after leading them to Europa League success, the club's first major honour in 17 years.

This was not enough to secure his long-term place as manager of Spurs, with the club opting instead for Brentford's Thomas Frank.

According to The Athletic, Brentford made contact with Postecoglou regarding a potential replacement for Frank.

Informal discussions were reportedly held, but the two parties decided against an official interview, concluding that the move was not in the best interest of either side.

Brentford chose to promote from within, appointing Keith Andrews as their new manager.

The former Republic of Ireland international joined the club last summer as set-piece coach and served under Frank for a year.

Phil Giles, the club's director of football, described the appointment as 'low-risk,' saying [The Athletic]: "It’s more risky to go and get a coach we don’t know from a club where the environment might be different or maybe people around them made them successful.

"This is actually quite a low-risk appointment because I know how good Keith is."

Campbell, who spent the last year-and-a-half at RB Leipzig, will serve as the 'first team individual development coach' under Thomas Frank.

He secured his position at Rangers after stints with Aberdeen and the Right to Dream Academy.

In February last year, Campbell left Rangers to seize the opportunity at RB Leipzig.

In Germany, he served as the head of player development, aiding the transition of youth players into the first team.

As he left Rangers last year, Campbell signed out with an emotional message.

He wrote on social media: "Privileged to have spent 3.5 years at RFC Youth working with some brilliant people on & off the pitch.

"An incredible opportunity that I never took for granted, from watching academy lads play for Rangers & forging careers in the game to winning the U18 League & Scottish Youth Cup.

"Overwhelmed by the messages I’ve received from players, parents and staff which have all been greatly appreciated."

'Winner' Ange Postecoglou backed by Tottenham players

The 28-year-old midfielder backed his head coach after seeing his qualities at close hand as he inspired his side to Europa League glory courtesy of a 1-0 final victory over Premier League rivals Manchester United in Bilbao.

Speaking at his invitational charity golf event at the Centurion Club, Maddison told Sky Sports: “He’s a man who’s always had success and to be fair, his biggest strength is his self-belief in what he does and that feeds off on to us and that’s been installed into us in Europe this year.

“In all the away games and even in all the ones early in the group stages and the round of 16 – we had a really bad performance away at AZ Alkmaar, and he went heavy on us because you just know he’s a winner, and then we turned it around second leg and we’re in the quarters.

“Every step, we got closer and closer and we believed more and more and now we’re winners and no one can ever take that away from him.”

Maddison added: “He’s been brilliant. Even at the start of the season saying, ‘I don’t usually win things, I always win things’, it’s one of them.

Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce 'want' Celtic star for summer transfer

“We knew that would create a big uproar in the media with you lot never shutting up about it. To be fair, never once did I stop believing that he meant that.”

Postecoglou admitted he has found it “weird” that he was under pressure after ending the club’s 17-year wait for a trophy, although a 17th-placed league finish prompted questions, despite his admission that he turned his focus to Europe as the campaign progressed.

However, he also received support from midfielders Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray at the same event.

Asked if he wanted him to stay, Bergvall said: “A hundred per cent, I think he’s done a great job.

“It’s not been easy for any of us, especially because of all the injuries, but as he said, he always wins things in his second year and that’s true.”

Gray was equally unequivocal when asked if Postecoglou deserved another season at the helm.

He said: “Yes, definitely. It’s been a great season this year and it’s been a roller coaster of a season as well, not just at the end.

“We’ve obviously had some really tough times and we stuck together. He’s big on things like family and I think the main thing that helped us get to the final and win the final is our morals of what we’re like as a team.

“Like I said, family is our main thing. We believe in each other and it’s like brothers going out there on the pitch in the final and we just fought for each other.”

The former Hoops boss is under pressure at Spurs, having lost 16 of 30 Premier League matches this season.

The London club are on course to finish outside the top 10 for the first time since 2008.

Speaking on TNT Sports’ YouTube channel, Hart discussed the current situation at Tottenham and how it's impacting Postecoglou's demeanour in post-match interviews.

The 37-year-old said: "I loved him, but I was in a successful team, playing, you know, some football that I'd never played in my career."

When asked if the Ange he sees now is different from the one he played under, Hart said: "To an extent, but he was always engaging in terms of, he'd answer the question, but he'd answer it his way.

"Even him having a conversation with a fan about being respectful, that's kind of who he is.

"But just the Tottenham team, the constant losses, it's bringing that side out of him more."

Hart went on to explain that Postecoglou's confrontational side was present at Celtic, but the constant losses at Tottenham are making it more prominent.

He said: "But it was there when we were at Celtic.

"If we lost the odd game or we were questioned about the way he played, especially in Europe.

"We went to Real Madrid and went toe-to-toe with them.

"We did all right at home, but we got pumped five-nil away.

"But he stood by it and he would stand by anyone who called him out.

"Twenty-man press conference, if one man was whispering about him over there, he'd be like, what you saying?

"What have you got to say?

"Say it to me.

"But at Tottenham it's difficult because he's constantly having to deal with it."

Hart played two successful seasons under Postecoglou before the 59-year-old moved to Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Celtic manager, known for winning trophies in his second season at clubs, faces pressure to bring success in the competition.

Spurs are 1-0 down as they head into the second leg of their Round of 16 tie against AZ Alkmaar.

Former manager Tim Sherwood is optimistic that Spurs will not only progress but go on to win the entire tournament.

Mr Sherwood told Foot Italia: "If Spurs win the Europa League, there’ll be a statue of Ange Postecoglou outside the club.

"I say that because he would’ve delivered on his mandate of winning a trophy – and they’ll qualify for the Champions League for next season in the process."

He believes that winning the Europa League would not only be a triumph on the field but a significant boost off the field.

Mr Sherwood added: "It would also be a massive win for the club off the pitch, on the recruitment side of things.

"Players looking for a new club will warm to Spurs in the transfer window if they’re offered Champions League football."

He praised Spurs' facilities and the prospect of playing under an attack-minded manager, but warned that success in the Europa League is crucial.

Mr Sherwood continued: "However, for that all to happen, they must win this competition.

"I think they will win it; I have a sneaky feeling that they’ll go and lift the trophy.

"If they don’t, it could be a very difficult few months for everyone involved at Spurs.

"It will be a very hostile environment at the club if they come away empty-handed this season."

Ange bemoans Spurs injury crisis before Rangers tie

The Australian's Premier League outfit will take on Philippe Clement and his players at Ibrox on Thursday evening.

Several key players out of action, include; Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van den Ven, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, Richarlison and Mikey Moore.

Asked outright if this is the worst amount of injuries he's ever had to deal with as a manager, Postegolou said: "Yeah. When you've had it two seasons in a row as well."

"Obviously, with the weekend's fallout, [Christian] Romero and [Micky] Van Der Ven we’re still getting some clarity around the prognosis - but they both picked up injuries and will keep them out again," the 59-year-old added. "So that's disappointing for us because obviously, we're pretty thin on numbers.

"But we've had to deal with that for quite a while now and everyone else from the weekend got through okay. [Rodrigo] Bentancur is obviously available, he's been suspended so at least we'll get him back.

"It's challenging. We've obviously also got Ben Davies out who has played a big part for us while the other two have been out.

"It's no secret we're thin on numbers both squad-wise and position-wise. But it is what it is and we can't change that.

Benzema masterclass aside, Beale's reunion with Gerrard is clicking

"We've got some big games coming up starting tomorrow and we'll have to deal with it with what we've got. I'm still very confident we'll be able to get the job done with the players that are out I suppose.

"I never think it's just bad luck. I mean some of it is. I've never lost a goalkeeper for this period of time. I've had other issues that we've had.

"But some of it is reoccurring and particularly this year in terms of the guys coming back and sort of re-injuring. So it is stuff we're looking at and we're always trying to explore whether we can do things better.

"I think last year was a bit different from this year. Last year we kind of hit us across the board.

"This year it's more of a case of guys who are coming back that are more affected.

"Not going to lie, we've got a core in the group who have been playing a hell of a lot and are getting through it okay. But it is something we're trying to address."
