The Reds return to top-flight action at Anfield on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm GMT kick-off).

The matchday programme is the perfect souvenir for the game. Inside, we hear from cover star Hugo Ekitike – depicted in a special manga artwork – and Alexis Mac Allister.

Elsewhere, we have the pre-match insights of head coach Arne Slot and captain Virgil van Dijk in their exclusive columns, plus the thoughts of former Liverpool defender Gary Gillespie.

There is a round-up of the latest match action, an update from Liverpool’s women’s and Academy teams, plus some teasers for younger supporters with a focus on vice-captain Andy Robertson.

As the club celebrates its annual Community Day, we put the spotlight on the excellent work being carried out by official charity LFC Foundation.

Working in areas of high need and deprivation across the Liverpool City Region and beyond, we highlight how the charity aims to deliver sustainable and long-term change for communities.

To mark last week’s International Women’s Day. we also hear from Anna Williams, who discusses The Florrie Women’s Walking Group and empowering women in the city through TogetHER.

We also continue the story of Liverpool FC’s only Double-winning season to date, 40 years on, while our popular feature looking at stadiums at which Liverpool previously played naturally takes us to White Hart Lane, Tottenham’s former home.

The programme contains all this and much more.

Liverpool v Tottenham: 16 pre-match stats as Reds on cusp of landmark Anfield win - Liverpool FC
Description

The Reds host Spurs at Anfield in a 4.30pm GMT kick-off at Anfield on Sunday.

Here are 16 facts and figures to know ahead of the game, from LFC statistician Ged Rea and Opta…

Liverpool have lost just one of their last 31 home league games against Tottenham (won 21, drew nine) and are unbeaten in 14 (won 10, drew four) since a 2-0 defeat in May 2011.

Tottenham have won just one of the last 16 Premier League meetings between the clubs (drew three, lost 12), losing the last four in a row since a 2-1 home win in September 2023.

Liverpool v Tottenham is the highest-scoring fixture in Premier League history, with 209 goals. The Reds have scored 127 of these, with only themselves netting more against a specific opponent in the competition (131 v Newcastle United).

A victory for Liverpool in this game will see them reach the landmark of 1,500 league wins at Anfield in their history.

Tottenham have earned 19 of their 29 points in the Premier League this season away from home, a ratio of 66 per cent. In the competition's history, only Ipswich Town in 2024-25 (68 per cent - 15/22) and Crystal Palace in 1997-98 (67 per cent - 22/33) have ever earned a larger share of their points on the road.

Spurs have lost each of their last five Premier League games; only in February 1994 (seven) and November 2004 (six) have they ever suffered six or more successive defeats in their league history. They have also conceded two or more goals in nine successive league matches for the first time in their history.

Only Sunderland (25) have seen fewer goals in the first halves of their Premier League games this season than Liverpool (28 - 16 for, 12 against), while only Burnley's first halves have seen more goals (46) than Tottenham's (42 - 16 for, 26 against).

Cody Gakpo's next goal will see him become the 58th player to score 50 times for Liverpool in all competitions and the second Dutchman to do so after Dirk Kuyt.

Spurs are the only side without a Premier League win so far in 2026, drawing four and losing seven of their 11 games. Only five times has a team gone longer without a win from the start of a calendar year in the competition: Palace in 2016 (12) and 2023 (12), Middlesbrough in 2017 (14), Sunderland in 2003 (17) and Derby County in 2008 (18).

Mohamed Salah has scored 16 goals against Tottenham in all competitions (14 for Liverpool, one for Fiorentina, one for Basel), his joint-most against a single opponent (also 16 v Manchester United). Twelve of those have come in the Premier League, with only Alan Shearer (14) netting more against Spurs in the competition.

Salah has scored more league goals (12) and more in all competitions (14) than any other player in the history of this fixture.

The Reds are aiming to achieve a sixth league double in the last eight seasons and their 11th against Spurs in the Premier League era.

Liverpool have conceded twice in each of their last two Premier League games at Anfield, last doing so in three successive games in April 2023, with the third match in that run being a 4-3 victory against Tottenham.

Arne Slot's team have won four and lost four of their eight Premier League games after playing in Europe in midweek this season, winning all three at Anfield.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have failed to win any of their last five Premier League games after playing in Europe in midweek (drew three, lost two).

U21s match report: Morrison scores twice as Liverpool defeat Tottenham - Liverpool FC
Description

Rob Page made two changes for the contest, with Prince Cisse handed an U21s debut, while Joe Bradshaw was also selected.

Morrison struck the first and final goals for the Reds - his 13th and 14th efforts of the league campaign - while Cisse and Will Wright were also on target at the Kirkby Academy.

The visitors started on the front foot with Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny proving a threat on the right flank.

It was the winger who played a key role in opening the scoring for Spurs as his low ball across the box caused panic.

The ball eventually fell to Cisse, though his clearance was blocked by James Wilson, leaving the ball to ricochet into the back of the net to open the scoring.

Spurs were enjoying a spell of domination with goalkeeper Armin Pecsi called into action to push away another dangerous delivery from Russell-Denny.

However, Liverpool responded, first seeing Trey Nyoni volley wide, before Morrison levelled the contest with a fine strike.

The attacker saw the Reds turn the ball over in the Spurs half and gathered to cut into the box on his left and fire a dipping shot into the net.

The conditions on Merseyside were proving tricky with the wind playing a factor in much of the play.

Ahead of the half-time break, both Kyle Kelly and Tommy Pilling saw volleys threaten, though neither were able to add to the scoreline.

The game continued in battling fashion and it was the Reds who again went close after the interval.

Bradshaw worked an opening brilliantly on the left, beating his man to stand a cross up to the back post.

Nyoni broke free from his marker and jumped highest, though his glancing header fell inches past the post.

Moments later, however, Liverpool were in front thanks to a header from Cisse.

The Reds recycled a free-kick and Calvin Ramsay's delivery found the defender free, who planted a header onto the inside of the post before crossing the line.

The advantage lasted just four minutes, though, as Spurs hit back via a swift break forward from Russell-Denny.

The attacker sprinted through to finish well past the onrushing Pecsi after Dante Cassanova's ball opened up the home defence.

After the flurry of activity in the final third, both teams began to cancel each other out in the search for a winner.

Wright saw an opportunity inside the final 10 minutes fall just behind his reach inside the six-yard box, with the striker unable to convert a low cross from Morrison, who drove to the right byline to deliver.

He wasn't to be denied four minutes from time, though, as he scored a fine individual goal to put Liverpool back in front.

Goalkeeper Pecsi cleared the ball up field, allowing Wright to gather, turn one way and then another, before driving a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

There was still room for Morrison to net again in added time, with Liverpool working the ball across the pitch to stretch the visitors.

Wright found the run of Morrison with a well-placed pass, allowing him to quickly gather and drive low into the bottom corner and seal the points in emphatic fashion.

Team

Liverpool: Pecsi, Ramsay, Cisse (Pitt, 68), Pinnington, Ewing, Kelly, Morrison, Nyoni (Laffey, 61), W. Wright, Pilling, Bradshaw (Onanuga, 79).

Unused subs: Poytress, Miles.
