The Reds gained their first Barclays Women's Super League victory of 2025-26 in dramatic fashion at St Helens Stadium on Sunday.

With the game 0-0 and Taylor's team having hit the woodwork three times, substitute Mia Enderby scored twice at the very end.

On the satisfaction of getting the first WSL win of the season...

Yeah, really satisfying. It probably looked at some stage that we weren't going to get it, certainly when Alice [Bergstrom] hit the post in the 91st of 94 minutes. But football does that, it can give you another opportunity. The girls willed the ball into the net today. I thought Ceri [Holland] was excellent throughout. We've managed to keep the ball after the free-kick hits the post and Mia does what we expect our No.9 to do, which is get across the 'keeper.

And the second one was great because it shows what we want to be about in terms of being on the front foot, rather than drop off and surrender. The girls did it today. I thought we had a lot of good chances in the second half, a lot of box entries. We haven't had that this season, I'll be honest. I think today we looked a bit more look like what we want to be. The players are going to make a big difference for us.

On a strong start to the game but not taking the chances early on...

Yeah, of course. When you have that chance from Alice and we'd hit the post, you look at it and think, 'That could be our opportunity today.' But it shows the resilience of the players, they kept going and sometimes it presents another opportunity. I felt the game was going to be fairly tight, Tottenham are a good team. Jennifer Falk has to make a fantastic save at 0-0. But we had really good chances, Kappy [Cornelia Kapocs] probably had two or three and could have had a hat-trick. Just really pleased that we were able to get that result. We know it keeps us still at the bottom but I think it brings a few more teams in and just allows us to take that next step and build in the next games.

On the influential performances of new signings Denise O'Sullivan and Aurélie Csillag...

I know Denise had a small spell at Brighton in the WSL but [she is] relatively new, she has been used to playing in the American league; and Aurélie as well in the German league. But they both made good contributions and they will both get a lot better for that game. We've not had a huge amount of time to work with them and the more you work with players, like you saw with the rest of the players today, we are starting to build something here and it takes a little bit of time. We're patient. We know Denise is really important at the moment because of her leadership and maturity. We freshened things up with Aurélie [in the second half] because she put a lot into the game and we're asking her to play differently to the way she was at Freiburg.

On what he said to the players and staff post-match...

Just really proud of the performance and really pleased that we've had some joy. Because we've had a lot to contend with on and off the pitch this season. For me, I believe it makes you stronger, I really do. You can see a team that is really together, even before today. I can see that with this team, they are really together. They are a good group to work with, they are really hungry to learn and improve and get better. And want to do well for our great supporters; we were able to give them something to cheer about today, which was really nice.

Sunday's fixture at St Helens Stadium seemed destined to end in stalemate, with the Reds having hit the woodwork three times.

But substitute Enderby delivered a quickfire double in the final minute of the game to provide her side with a first league victory of the 2025-26 season.

Liverpool were moving the ball sharply from the off and carved out several chances inside the opening 10 minutes.

Indeed, Gareth Taylor's team hit the crossbar with only two on the clock.

Aurélie Csillag chased down a flick-on and from her attack towards the box, the ball rolled out to Alice Bergstrom, whose curling effort bounced off the goalframe.

New arrival Csillag was a magnet for the action in the early phases and she glanced a header too close to the goalkeeper from a Lily Woodham cross.

The forward then teed up Ceri Holland to the left of goal for a strike that the Wales international could only slice wide.

Csillag will feel she should have scored on 17 minutes.

Cornelia Kapocs escaped into space in the centre of Tottenham territory and fed her teammate inside the box, but the finish was saved by Lize Kop.

Liverpool's ascendancy gradually gave way to a more even pattern of play, and Spurs opened up a chance five minutes before the break.

Olivia Holdt was able to line up a strike from the edge of the area that she dragged off target to the left.

There was much greater impetus about Spurs when play resumed for the second half.

And the Reds needed a tremendous save from goalkeeper Jennifer Falk to prevent them from breaking the deadlock.

A slick counter-attack saw Holdt slide Signe Gaupset into a clear one-on-one - but Falk leapt from her line to smother the final shot.

Bergstrom swirled an effort too high in response from the Reds, having been set up by good work from Csillag and Kapocs.

The hosts worked a fine opportunity on 65 minutes, Holland racing to the byline and squaring the ball into the centre, where Kapocs sent a side-footer off target.

From almost a replica routine two minutes later - Holland cutback to Kapocs - the latter's finish was this time deflected wide.

As Liverpool pushed ever more strongly, Kop blocked Kapocs from close range when Grace Fisk headed down a corner kick.

The stalemate continued, though, with the visitors' nearest riposte a headed attempt from Bethany England that drifted away from goal.

The Reds looked the team likely to score if a winner was going to materialise, and they were denied by the woodwork twice in added time.

From Holland's driving run in the left channel and lofted cross, Bergstrom arrived at the back stick but sent the ball against the post.

Holland then hit the same part of the frame from a free-kick strike - but late, decisive drama was still to come.

In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Enderby improvised superbly to hook Jenna Clark's cross over the goalkeeper and in from close range.

And immediately from the kick-off, she capitalised on a Tottenham slip to run clean through and supply a clinical second strike.

The Scotland international joins Gareth Taylor's squad on a deal until the end of the 2025-26 season.

She arrives at the Reds with a wealth of Barclays Women's Super League experience having also represented West Ham United and Manchester United before moving to Spurs in 2023.

On the national stage, Thomas has delivered a goal rate of nearly one-in-two for her country: 21 strikes in 52 senior Scotland appearances since debuting in March 2020.

"It means a lot. It's a really exciting time for me and I'm really excited to be here," she told Liverpoolfc.com in her first interview at the AXA Melwood Training Centre.

"I think it's the right fit, right now in my career. Even though it's a short loan, I'm really looking forward to be here and help this team climb the table where they deserve to be."

Born in England, from an early age Thomas grew up in the USA and went on to star for the Charlotte 49ers in college soccer.

Her professional career began in France with a single season at Le Havre, before establishing herself in the WSL, initially at West Ham.

A two-year stint with the Hammers from 2019 was followed by a spell at Manchester United of the same timeframe.

Thomas then switched to Tottenham and brought up a century of appearances in the English top flight in March 2024.

The 29-year-old, who will take the No.31 shirt, added: "Results are important and that's how you get points on the table, but you look at Liverpool's performances they have put in this season, I feel they have put strong performances in.

"It's just about getting over the line and picking up points. I've got full faith in this team.

"I wouldn't have joined if I didn't think I could help and I didn't think it was a successful project going forward."

The Liverpool striker was injured in a challenge in the process of scoring the opening goal against Tottenham Hotspur and had to be substituted.

After diagnosis, an operation was completed today on an ankle injury that included a fibula fracture.

Isak's rehabilitation will now continue at the AXA Training Centre, with no timeframe yet placed on his return.

The Reds added three points to their tally on Saturday evening courtesy of a 2-1 win in London.

Second-half goals from Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike put Arne Slot's men ahead, while Spurs - who had two players sent off - halved the deficit through Richarlison late on.

Liverpool made it three consecutive wins and six games unbeaten in all competitions with a 2-1 result over Spurs in the Premier League.

Second-half goals from Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike put the Reds in control after the home side had Xavi Simons sent off before the break.

A nervy finale ensued, though, as Richarlison responded for Tottenham, who mounted pressure during a period of stoppage time in which Cristian Romero was also dismissed.

"It was a really intense game," said Alisson post-match. "I think in the Premier League you cannot think you are just going to easily win games, even if you have an extra player on the pitch.

"They fought a lot for the result in the last 20 minutes. But we were brave enough to keep the result.

"Of course we are not happy for conceding - the clean sheet was a big goal as well for us, to keep the consistency. But three points away against Tottenham, we take that."

The Liverpool goalkeeper said of the closing stages: "That's part of playing in the Premier League. Playing here for a while, you know that the last 10 minutes are the most dangerous ones.

"When we are in a way controlling the game, I think we could do a little bit better with the ball, bringing more threat to their defence.

"But at the end they just put the ball inside our box, they fought. Richarlison brought energy to their team, the crowd came along. But we did well defending the crosses and all the chances they had at the end of the match. We dealt with it well."

The Reds were involved in an incident-packed contest in the capital on Saturday evening as they recorded back-to-back Premier League wins.

Substitute Alexander Isak put Arne Slot's side in front in the second half and Hugo Ekitike swiftly doubled the advantage, with the hosts having seen Xavi Simons sent off in the opening period.

Richarlison later netted a consolation strike for Spurs, whose captain Cristian Romero also received a second yellow card for his own dismissal in stoppage time.

"That's true!" Wirtz told Liverpoolfc.com post-match when asked whether it was a 'crazy game' to be involved in.

"But we are happy in the end that we won, and three points [are] everything that counted, so we are happy."

On recording his first Premier League assist of the season, he added: "That was also nice. I think until minute 70 we made a very good game.

"In the first half we had a few counter-attacks against us, which we can do better from [defensively]. But all in all, [for] 70 minutes [it] was a very good game from us. They got a set-piece and we conceded a goal.

"After that goal it was a bit wild but it's always like this in these games. When they get one goal [then] they are trying to get a second one.

"In the end you just have to try to bring it to the end [of the match] and take the three points. That's what we did."

Wirtz claimed the Liverpoolfc.com Carlsberg Player of the Match award for his assist and overall contribution to the victory in London.

The No.7 believes his adaptation to the Premier League is getting better with each appearance and is hopeful of continuing to make an impact for the Reds in the coming months.

"I think I had a few good situations," said the Germany international. "I got into some good positions to create something dangerous for goals.

"It's getting better every week, I can feel this on the pitch and it makes me happy that I can enjoy the football."
