Premier League state of play
The Premier League table doesn't make pretty viewing for either of today's teams...
A career defining night in store...
Welcome from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where we may be about to witness a make or break night for both the men in charge tonight as Spurs welcome Newcastle.
Thomas Frank goes into this one knowing that it could very well be win or bust for his tenure in north London, with pressure mounting after the defeat to Manchester United left Spurs 15th in the Premier League title, six points from safety.
It hasn't been smooth sailing for Eddie Howe either, who admitted that his side had not been good enough after they came out on the losing end of their game against Brentford on Saturday.
With the Magpies in 12th, a win is vital for any European hopes they still harbour.
Expect fireworks, with team news with you in the quarter of an hour ahead of our 7.30pm kick off.

Everything you need to know ahead of Premier League Matchweek 26!
Frank confirms fresh Udogie injury
Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed Destiny Udogie is set for another spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
The 23-year-old - who missed December with a hamstring injury - had featured in Spurs' last three games, but came off after 55 minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Man Utd at the weekend.
"Unfortunately, Destiny has a hamstring injury, so he's out for the next four to five weeks," Frank said in his press conference.
He also provided updates on Kevin Danso and Dejan Kulusevski.
"Kevin met the consultant. Going forward, it's still weeks before he's available," he said.
"Deki has got another appointment at the end of this week where we will know more.
"But he's out of the Champions League squad, which is a sign that it's not tomorrow.
Asked if the latter would be returning before the end of the season, Frank added: "I don't know."
'He needs to learn!' Frank reflects on another Romero red
Tottenham bossThomas Frank defends his captainCristian Romero despite another red card in the defeat to Manchester United.
Frank dodges question about whether Spurs are in relegation battle
Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank:
"There's no doubt we are desperate to win games, desperate.
"And I'm focusing on Newcastle tomorrow. That's a great opportunity ahead of us against a good team.
"That's the main thing. Can we go out there and get three points tomorrow? That will be very good and then climb from there. Look forward, that's what we need to do.
"That's the main focus."
On whether his side have the quality to get out of situation...
"I think we have. There are a lot of players out and that, of course, never helps.
"But I think I actually put a very competitive team out against Man Utd and we looked good for the first 30 minutes.
"We lost two players for tomorrow [Romero and Udogie], but Djed Spence is back and (Radu) Dragusin looked good when he came back in.
"I know we'll put a very competitive team out tomorrow as well and then there should be hopefully a few more coming back after that, but let's see."
Howe gives injury update
Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe:
"Lewis Miley I need to see today, it's a dead leg that has dragged on longer than we thought. [Anthony] Gordon we'll make an assessment today, hopefully an improvement in him. Joelinton won't make this game."
Howe defends job amid claims his players 'lacked effort' in defeat to Brentford
Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe was forced to defend his job amid a run that his seen his side slip to 12th in the Premier League.
Howe's side have lost their last three in the league, after a 3-2 defeat to Brentford at St James' Park on Saturday, and won just one in eight in all competitions.
"I will do better. It's part of the evolution," Howe said on Monday ahead of Tuesday's game against Tottenham. "These challenging moments are when you grow the most. I'm looking forward to that.
"The club is always No 1. I have got to think I'm the right person to get results and give value. As long as I feel that in my heart and spirit, my desire and passion for the job will always be there.
"That's why I'm sitting here now. If I didn't think that, I wouldn't be.
"I'll fight every day to the maximum for success for this club.
"When you don't win, it's an easy criticism to make, to accuse the players of [a lack of effort].
"I see the players every day. The squad is strong in terms of psychology. If there are suggestions that people feel we didn't leave everything on the pitch, we have to take that on the chin and address that in the next game."
What are Newcastle's biggest issues currently?
Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe:
"We have to fix defensive issues and then I back the team to get results. I still feel we're a goal threat in every game.
"The priority is the next game. I make no apologies for that. Right now it's Tottenham, that's everything for us.
"Everyone is looking to me to set the tone. People want to follow, that's human nature. If you have strength in these moments, people look to you."
Howe: I'm not doing my job well enough at the moment

James fit but unwell as Rosenior rules out 'conspiracy'
Chelsea defender Reece James is a doubt to face Leeds.
Head coach Liam Rosenior revealed the right-back is fit, but was unwell on Monday after missing the last two matches.
"Reece is fit," said Rosenior. "A small issue is that he's feeling unwell today. It's no conspiracy, it's the truth.
"Hopefully, he'll be feeling well enough to be involved in tomorrow's game."
Andrey Santos trained on Monday after picking up a knock against Wolves on Saturday while centre-back Tosin was also involved.
Romeo Lavia is working back to full fitness having trained during the last two days.
Calvert-Lewin, Gruev fit for Chelsea trip
Leeds manager Daniel Farke expects to have Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ilia Gruev fit to face Chelsea, but Pascal Struijk will not make the trip to London.
A 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend boosted Leeds’ survival hopes and they head to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday six points above the relegation zone.
The fitness news is mostly positive leading in to the match and Farke said: “Dominic was struggling a little bit with illness but I hope it’s not too bad and I hope he’s available. In terms of knocks and muscle injuries, there’s nothing.
“Ilia is tough. At the moment, both seem to be available. There is bad news with Pascal Struijk, he will definitely miss this game.
“He has got some problems with his hip flexor and the turnaround will be a bit too quick so he will definitely miss this game.”
Farke is reluctant to set a specific target for his team to guarantee their place in the division, keeping them focused on performances.
“It doesn’t matter if I change anything in my assessment of how many points we need,” he said.
“[Maybe] we need 38 points, but it’s not like if you achieve 38 we want to stop winning points, we want as many as possible. I’m not too concentrated on doing too much math, I’m concentrated on playing good football games and adding a few more positive results.”

'They're enjoying their football' | Rosenior delighted by impact on Chelsea squad
Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior says he is delighted to see his squad enjoying their football at the moment.
James fit but unwell as Rosenior rules out 'conspiracy'
Chelsea defender Reece James is a doubt to face Leeds on Tuesday due to illness.
Head coach Liam Rosenior revealed the right-back is fit, but was unwell on Monday after missing the last two matches.
"Reece is fit," said Rosenior. "A small issue is that he's feeling unwell today. It's no conspiracy, it's the truth.

Calvert-Lewin, Gruev fit for Chelsea trip
Leeds manager Daniel Farke expects to have Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ilia Gruev fit to face Chelsea, but Pascal Struijk and Anton Stach will not make the trip to London.

“He has got some problems with his hip flexor and the turnaround will be a bit too quick so he will definitely miss this game.
"Anton Stach will be back probably just for the [Aston] Villa game. Apart from this I hope to have everyone available."
Rosenior explains rotation amid fixture pile-up
Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior on rotation:
"It's difficult. We've rotated a lot, which we need to do at this stage of the season.
"Bear in mind the players' long-term schedule, they had no pre-season and they've been magnificent. You have to be try and freshen up the team in the right areas, mentally and physically.
"You have to be really well prepared tactically to give the players the right plans and solutions. The players have been great in achieving that."
Concern for player welfare?
"I think so, if I'm being honest. These lads are fantastic professionals - they live for their job which is so important.
"You want the best product possible so we need the best players on the pitch. We have to find a way where we can find the right balance between the two."
Rosenior on facing Leeds...
Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior on defeat at Elland Road:
"You watch every game. It's very difficult for me because when I first watched that game, it was as a neutral, I had no idea I'd be manager of Chelsea.
"Going to Elland Road is always difficult. Daniel (Farke) is an outstanding coach. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in really good form. The way they press, their energy, they're direct in a really positive way.
"It's going to be a very difficult game again. I'm not here to talk in the past or what's happened before I was here. I'm focused on the game tomorrow."

How the Premier League table stands
Everton can go above Liverpool into sixth tonight if they beat Bournemouth.
The Cherries themselves could displace their opponents in eighth with three points.
Good evening!
As they say, no rest of the wicked and the Premier League is back for a midweek round, with Everton hosting Bournemouth.
The Toffees could go above city rivals Liverpool with three points, and are unbeaten in their last four games.
Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth are also unbeaten in their last four. Both sides have lost just one Premier League game in 2026.
So two in-form teams going toe-to-toe at the Hill Dickinson Stadium - quite the prospect. Let's get going!
Adams edging closer to return
Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams is edging closer to fitness after a knee injury.
He has been out since suffering the injury at Manchester United in December and while Andoni Iraola says Tuesday’s trip to Everton might be too early for Adams, he is not far away from returning to action.
“Tyler will train today,” said Iraola at a press conference. “Maybe it’s early for tomorrow, but he’s getting closer.
“My worry is more about the players that finished the other day against Aston Villa.
“Let’s see if we can train with everyone and have everyone ready to go again.
“We don’t have any injury concerns, but it’s true that a lot of players finished with cramps or small issues. I hope they are small and that they are ready again for tomorrow.”
Moyes: I'd rather talk about Europe than relegation, but a long way to go
Everton manager David Moyes admitted his side will have to pull off some surprise results in their final 13 matches if they are to sneak into Europe.
A win at home to Bournemouth would take his side into sixth on 40 points and bring the prospect of a return to continental competition for the first time since 2017/18 closer to reality.
After recent seasons battling to avoid the drop, it is a scenario Moyes welcomes – but he knows with matches still to come against Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, the odds are still against them.
“We don’t really say too much but I’d rather the talk be about European places than talking about relegation places,” he said.
“For us to do it we are probably going to have to win a couple of games which maybe we would be unexpected to win in the run-in.
“We are going to have to be good, try to win the games we can do. We have to try to turn our away form into good home form and get more wins if we can.
“At the moment we have a long way to go for that to happen but if we can hang in with the teams above us you just never know.”
'I will come back better than before' - Grealish confirms foot surgery
Jack Grealish confirmed he has had surgery on a foot stress fracture, which has ruled him out for the season.
The 30-year-old, who is on a season-long loan at Everton from Manchester City, suffered the injury last month during a 1-0 win over his former club Aston Villa.
Confirmation of the operation rules out an outside chance of Grealish making Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for this summer’s World Cup.
The 30-year-old posted a picture on Instagram in his hospital bed, giving the thumbs-up.
He wrote: “Didn’t want the season to end like this but that’s football, gutted.
“Surgery done and now all focus on getting back fit. I know for sure I will come back fitter, stronger and better than before.
“The support I’ve had since coming to this unbelievable club has meant the world to me.
“The staff, my teammates and especially the fans have been incredible, and I absolutely love representing this club.
“I’ll be backing the lads all the way and doing everything I can to get back as soon as possible. Thank you again for all the love, it means so much.”
He had featured 22 times for Everton this season, with two goals and six assists.

Our football betting expert Jones Knows provides his insight across the midweek card of Premier League fixtures.
Chelsea vs Leeds, Tuesday 7.30pm
One of my favourite betting angles this season is centre-forwards committing fouls on centre-backs.
This season's Premier League is a bruising product to watch. The data and the eye test are telling the same story in that the league has tilted back towards directness with far more emphasis on winning first contact. And when that happens, centre-forwards don't just score goals, they start giving away fouls.
Win £100,000 with Super 6!
The result? Centre-backs are being fouled more often than the market expects.
Joao Pedro has come to life under Liam Rosenior, putting in some electric performances as the central striker where he's also been making a healthy number of fouls. In six starts as the centre-forward under the new boss. he's made eight fouls. Joe Rodon is in the firing line then when it comes to fouls drawn where he is a bulky 4/1 with Sky Bet to be fouled +2 times.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-1
Everton vs Bournemouth, Tuesday 7.30pm
Everton midfielder James Garner looks a strong play to hit +2 fouls in this one at 11/4 with Sky Bet. Garner has hit this mark in 10 of his 20 starts in central midfield this season, showing he's no stranger to getting his foot in at key moments.
Bournemouth's Alex Scott, meanwhile, has been a magnet for fouls, drawing 14 in his last eight appearances. The battle between Garner and Scott in the middle of the park should see the Everton man commit a couple of challenges as he tries to disrupt Scott's rhythm.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-1 | JONES KNOWS' BEST BET: James Garner +2 fouls committed (11/4 with Sky Bet)
Tottenham vs Newcastle, Tuesday 7.30pm
Just two wins in 16 Premier League games has left Tottenham a mere six points from safety and suddenly flirting with the drop.
Sky Bet aren't messing about either. Spurs are now just 10/1 to go down.
If they don't find form fast and West Ham keep winning, that relegation scrap could get very real indeed. This is getting serious.
Spurs are easily swerved here at 19/10 with Sky Bet too having won just one of their last 11 Premier League home matches.
Meanwhile, when the chips are down Eddie Howe usually delivers a result for Newcastle and he'll be using the frustration within the home fanbase as a weapon in the hope the north London faithful turn on their team. That's why a fast start is expected which makes the half-time/full-time market for Newcastle/Newcastle at 5/2 with Sky Bet a smart way to boost the odds on an away win.
SCORE PREDICTION: 1-2
West Ham vs Manchester United, Tuesday 8.15pm
One of the standout bets on the midweek card is Crysensio Summerville to have a shot on target at Evens with Sky Bet. The winger has been a thorn in Premier League defences lately, registering nine shots on target in his last six matches.
Nuno Espirito Santo's tactical system is clearly suiting Summerville, giving him the freedom to drift into dangerous positions and create big moments. Against a Manchester United side that has shown vulnerability out wide, expect Summerville to be buzzing for another attempt on goal.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-2 | JONES KNOWS' BEST BET: Crysensio Summerville +1 shots on target (Evens with Sky Bet)
Aston Villa vs Brighton, Wednesday 7.30pm
Brighton's wobbles are a great betting edge to exploit. Just one win in 12 games isn't a blip, that's a crisis - yet the markets still have them priced as a dangerous outfit. Villa, notoriously ruthless and efficient at home, are on offer at 10/11 with Sky Bet for maximum points. That looks generous based on what Brighton are serving up.
Fabian Hurzeler's side are struggling for creativity and confidence. The end could be near for him as Brighton boss.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-0
Crystal Palace vs Burnley, Wednesday 7.30pm
Jorgen Strand Larsen played like a man with a big point to prove on his debut. It wasn't always pretty or easy on the eye but he made his presence felt in that 1-0 win Brighton. Three fouls and a yellow card in his first appearance shows a striker visibly eager to impose himself and to make a statement.
Strand Larsen averages around 1.9 fouls per game in the Premier League. That's potentially almost two yellow-card-worthy moments every 90 minutes. He carries the aura of a striker playing like it's only a matter of time before he oversteps, mistimes a challenge or lashes out in frustration. Like he did at Brighton when stopping an attack with a cynical pull of the shirt.
Strand Larsen is a striker - sure - but a striker who's touchy, combative, and clearly wants to make a mark. The odds are gigantic at 19/2 with Sky Bet for a card.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-0 | JONES KNOWS' BEST BET: Jorgen Strand Larsen to be carded (19/2 with Sky Bet)
Manchester City vs Fulham, Wednesday 7.30pm
This version of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City always gives you a chance. It's a far cry from their controlled and possession-obsessed style.
Fulham, meanwhile, aren't here to make up the numbers. Both teams to score have landed in 12 of their last 15 games and they've managed that feat on their last four visits to the Etihad. That's not luck, that's a proven blueprint of being able to hit City on the counter, capitalise on mistakes and play with freedom.
City will score - of course they will - but Fulham are likely to join the party. Both teams to score looks a bet at 4/5 with Sky Bet.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-1
Nottingham Forest vs Wolves, Wednesday 7.30pm
Morgan Gibbs-White and Wolves. Make no mistake, there's bad blood there.
Every touch will be scrutinised, every run will be jeered and if he gets on the scoresheet, the emotions are going to explode.
Gibbs-White isn't shy either. He's combative, fiery and at 10/1 with Sky Bet to score and pick up a card, the value is screaming. Picture the scene: a Gibbs-White goal sparks celebrations in what has become a very big game now for Forest. The shirt may come off which triggers a booking.
Combine the two through the Sky Bet BuildABet function and 10/1 looks like a steal.
SCORE PREDICTION: 2-1
Sunderland vs Liverpool, Wednesday 8.15pm
If you want a betting market that rewards understanding football match-ups rather than predicting perfection, the "to be fouled" market is as good as it gets.
Bookmakers price fouls largely off averages and historical data. What they struggle to fully account for is role within a specific match-up. Like a foul-heavy centre-forward playing up against a wily centre-back. That's what we have here.
This isn't about Van Dijk losing control or his cool. That rarely happens.
It's about Van Dijk being dragged into a very specific type of duel against his opponent in Brian Bobbey, who is not a subtle centre-forward. His game is built on confrontation.
Last season at Ajax he averaged 1.8 fouls per 90, which is a huge number for a striker operating in a possession-dominant side. Even more telling is the recent trend of nine fouls across his last six games where he is bullying big-name opponents. Van Dijk is 10/11 with Sky Bet to win +1 fouls.
SCORE PREDICTION: 1-1
Brentford vs Arsenal, Thursday 8.15pm
Arsenal are scoring goals at a relentless rate, conceding here and there and making life very, very hard for anyone trying to keep them quiet. That is a perfect cocktail for backing the over 2.5 goals line when the odds flirt around the Even money mark. Their last 13 games are averaging 3.4 goals per 90 minutes and 10 of those matches have gone over 2.5 goals
Even without Brentford contributing, Arsenal alone could easily cover this line. They've hit three or more goals in 10 of their last 13 matches. That's ruthless attacking form from a team who know exactly how to punish mistakes.
SCORE PREDICTION: 1-3 | JONES KNOWS' BEST BET: Over 2.5 goals (Evens with Sky Bet)
