Anton Stach: I think we have a really good team - Leeds United
Description

Leeds United face Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road this weekend, in a lunchtime kick-off between the two sides which is being show live on TNT Sports (12:30).

Both teams come into this encounter having drawn last time out, each taking a point from their respective home clashes against AFC Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Having played the full 90 minutes last weekend, Anton Stach has been speaking exclusively speaking to Premier League Productions prior to taking on Spurs.

“I think we prepare well every week,” the German international stated, discussing training in the build up to the clash.

“We have, of course, meetings on how they play, what is the plan, and then we have our own plan and we try to bring the plan on the pitch.

“Of course, with all the basics like we did in the last games with winning the duels, intensity, pressing, taking the atmosphere with us.

“Our home, the fans, I think that's an important point to make it very stressful for them to play against us.

“I think we have a really good team. You know, the team spirit is really good. Everybody in the team is honest to each other, speaks to everybody and is very positive.”

After scoring his first goal for the Whites with a stunning free-kick in the win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Anton was then asked about taking set-plays.

“I took some corners and free kicks when I came here, and it was quite good,” he answered.

“And before, at my old clubs and in the youth, I also took free kicks or corner kicks so they tried it out.

“I think I did some good ones, of course some not so good ones! But I try to improve every time.”

Daniel Farke: They play and press with intensity - Leeds United
Description

Leeds United return to Elland Road on Saturday for another exciting clash in the Premier League, welcoming Thomas Frank’s Tottenham Hotspur to West Yorkshire.

Currently on eight points from the opening six league encounters, Daniel Farke’s side have enjoyed life on their return to the top-flight.

Following on from the draw with AFC Bournemouth last weekend, attentions now turn to the meeting with Spurs, something the Whites boss believes will be a good test after a positive opening run of fixtures.

“What I like about our start so far in terms of performances, we have not one point [that was] lucky but we have also, I would say, lost three points [from being] very, very unlucky.

“So it could be easily even on 10 or 11 points if I am honest and then we would not just be talk of the town. But sometimes it is also a bit healthy for this emotional club to fly a bit under the radar.

“It is good that we had such a positive start performance-wise, also result-wise, but it is a long road and we have to make sure that we deliver with consistency further on.

“We need to win many more points in order to achieve our target because with just eight points, we won’t be allowed to stay in this league, so we have to keep going.”

Speaking on his opposite number, Farke is impressed with Frank’s start to his tenure in the Spurs hotseat.

“His teams are always well-structured, well-managed and coached and for that you have to be spot on in what you are doing. They play and press with intensity. They always threaten with many runs in behind.

“When they rotate, they still have found a way in the last games to dig in and to grind out a result and this is also the mentality Thomas bring into his teams.

“Always they are pretty effective and find pragmatic solutions to grind out results and for that we have to be aware if you are against his side on top of the game, they can comeback and deliver.”

Daniel Farke’s latest fitness update ahead of Spurs test - Leeds United
Description

Ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road, Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has issued an update on the availability of his squad.

The Whites go into the encounter keen to continue their impressive start to the new campaign, which has seen them remain unbeaten on home soil.

Prior to the clash with Thomas Frank’s side, the boss conceded attacker Daniel James is set for a spell on the sidelines.

“The doctors say he is likely out for four to six weeks," Farke told the press. "So that means realistically we just expect him back after the more or less November international break.

“If he would be there, perhaps available even before for one or two games, it would be a nice little bonus and a surprise. But he is definitely out for a few weeks. That is of course not great news.

“Willy Gnonto will also miss this game. His calf problems are not sorted. He is not back in team training and for that there is no chance to involve him for the game.

“He will also sadly just be back after this upcoming international break, so not available for this Tottenham fixture.

“A few question marks behind Harry Gray because he reported right now in training after he played the game on Monday some problems with his hip flexor.

“Some good news is that Lucas Perri right now is back in team training since yesterday. That is definitely good news but it is too early to involve him for this game.

“But I think then also the international break will be beneficial. We have two more weeks of training and I expect him on the other side of the international break then also to be available for our games.”

Driving for change: What can sport do to help?

It is estimated that the global football industry produces more than 30 million tonnes of carbon dioxide every year, which is about the same size as the total emissions of Denmark

A quick glance at the above numbers shows the massive difference in the impact of sports at a grassroots and global level

While the sport industry in general is working towards improvement in the green transition, some organisations are now progressively trying to reconstruct their business model to be more sustainable. Leeds United and Hunters coaches are working together in this approach

The Park & Ride service is reducing over 150 cars travelling to the ground each match, which is a significant reduction in the carbon footprint

Replacing car journeys with public transport can help reduce CO2 emissions by 42% if using the bus

Further information

To further improve this service, official Leeds United club stewards will be present at both Park & Ride sites and will be checking supporters onto the buses. Each passenger will be given a wristband by Hunters Coaches staff before departing to Elland Road. On the return journey, passengers must show their wrist band in order to board the bus back to the Park & Ride sites. Any supporters without a wristband will not be able to travel on this service.

All supporters are advised to have access to their Leeds United Park & Ride booking confirmation email on matchday.

This time we take a look at Tottenham Hotspur.

A memorable meeting:

Time in Premier League:

Founding members of the inaugural Premier League campaign, Spurs have remained there ever since, recording one second-place result and finishing third on two occasions. Before the Premier League era, Spurs had been crowned champions of England twice, most recently at the beginning of the 1960s.

Last season:

Last campaign brought very differing fortunes in terms of successes on the league and cup front. Spurs’ points tally of 38 ensured the North London outfit finish in 17th, yet in the Europa League, victory over Manchester United in the final saw Tottenham end their trophy draught and qualify for next term's Champions League. Following the conclusion of the season, the Spurs hierarchy parted ways with Ange Postecoglou and replaced him with former Brentford boss Thomas Frank.
