Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed an exciting win against West Ham United at White Hart Lane last weekend as Ange Postecoglou’s side returned to winning ways in a thunderous 4-1 win, and Swede international Dejan Kulusevski was pivotal in giving the Lilywhites the assured three points, which showed the former Juventus’ man’s growing creative influence on the side.

The 24-year-old not only netted the equaliser but was also integral in offensive as well as defensive phases of the game, showing his grind and work rate under the Greek-born tactician.

Postecoglou praises Kulusevski development

And after the game, the former Celtic head coach was vocal about Kulusevski, who has been putting in some splendid performances from the central areas, which have unlocked angles and facets that we didn’t see from him when donning the Spurs badge. The Australian has credited the shift and acknowledged how Dejan has a knack to get out of tight spaces while also ensuring that he makes his influence felt.

Ange made a note that the 24-year-old has made massive progress in his creative abilities while insisting that Kulu can dig deeper to get more goals and assists from the midfield.

-> Tottenham insider blasts ‘silly’ Tottenham stars for unjust West Ham theatrics

Speaking in his post-game interview (via. TBR), Tottenham’s head coach said:

“Yeah, he has been doing that all year and the evolution of Deki as a player, that is now his role not just for us but he’s playing there for the national team too.”

“He’s got this ability to get out of tight spaces and he’s a really strong runner. He is relentless in his running capacity and he also has the quality.”

“In that final third, I still think we can get more goals out of him, more assists but he is constantly in those threatening areas and he’s been outstanding for us all year.”

It is great to see how Kulusevski has grown into his role in the middle of the park, and we have seen on a consistent basis that Ange has preferred to sub Maddison and get Dejan more time on the ball as he showcases the ability to dictate the tempo of the play.

Judging by Ange’s comments, there is still another level for the 24-year-old to explore, and if he continues his development at a similar pace, he will be more and more influential in games for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham Star Makes January Transfer Decision

Tottenham Hotspur rebounded from their recent loss to Brighton with an impressive 4-1 victory over West Ham United. This commanding win highlighted a cohesive team effort, with Dejan Kulusevski, Heung-min Son, and Yves Bissouma making notable contributions. As Spurs aim for Champions League qualification, Ange Postecoglou may look to strengthen his squad further in the upcoming January transfer window, building on this momentum.

Radu Dragusin has made a decision regarding his future at Tottenham Hotspur as the upcoming transfer window approaches. The 22-year-old defender, who joined the Lilywhites for £26.7 million from Genoa in January, has recently been linked with a potential exit due to his diminished role under Ange Postecoglou.

Dragusin’s Future at Tottenham

Dragusin has had limited opportunities this season, featuring only four times for Spurs as Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have solidified their status as a formidable centre-back partnership in the Premier League. Earning £85,000 per week, Dragusin has seen action in cup competitions but has struggled to make an impact. His season took a turn for the worse when he received a red card just seven minutes into Tottenham’s Europa League opener for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Since then, Postecoglou has only given him a brief nine-minute appearance off the bench, raising questions about his future at the club. However, despite these challenges, reports from the Mirror indicate that the Romanian defender will not seek a move away from Spurs in January.

The report states that several Italian clubs, including Napoli, are ‘monitoring his situation closely’, but Dragusin ‘remains committed’ to the Lilywhites. After swapping the Serie A for the Premier League earlier this year, he signed a long-term contract, which keeps him in north Londoners until at least June 2030.

As Radu Dragusin continues to face challenges in securing a regular spot in Tottenham’s starting lineup, his future at the club remains uncertain. While he has shown potential since joining Spurs, the strong partnership of Romero and van de Ven has limited his opportunities. Nevertheless, Dragusin’s decision to remain at the club indicates his commitment to fighting for his place, and he will be hoping to impress Ange Postecoglou in the coming months to carve out a more significant role within the squad.

Tottenham insider makes Maddison injury claim after West Ham win

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed an emphatic win over West Ham at White Hart Lane on Saturday as the Lilywhites returned to winning ways in a thunderous fashion. That second half had everything—goals, cards, fights—everything that a London derby is all about.

However, that second half didn’t have James Maddison, who was substituted at halftime with Pape Sarr coming on for the former Leicester City midfielder.

Injury concern for Maddison?

Many insisted that it be a tactical sub as the latter brings more stability into the midfield; however, ex-Lilywhites coach Bryan King insists that the England international might have picked up an injury.

Tottenham head coach did explain how it was a tactical decision to sub out Maddison; King wouldn’t be very sure about the Greece-born tactician’s comments.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, King said:

“Was it really a tactical change, or was he injured?

“If it was a tactical change, then well done Ange Postecoglou. However, I can’t imagine it would’ve been, I don’t think Pape Matar Sarr replacing Maddison would’ve been the move, Maddison set up a goal.

“For me, he didn’t look 100 per cent, maybe there is an underlying injury issue. There shouldn’t be, he has been off for the past couple of weeks, he should’ve been raring to go.”

-> Former scout claims how Arsenal signing youngster over Tottenham is a big deal

James Maddison had an underwhelming performance in the first half; he couldn’t control the tempo of the game from the middle of the park. That being said, he did set up the Lilywhites first goal, and hence he would be disappointed if that was a tactical sub from Ange Postecoglou.

We will have to see if that was an injury concern or not.

Moreover, even if that doesn’t turn out to be an injury problem, the Australian head coach made a bold decision if he tactically brought on Sarr for the 27-year-old. And Pape Sarr did brilliantly when he came on; he provided a physical presence in the middle of the park while containing West Ham attacks, so that was a brilliant chain of thoughts from Ange if he tactically subbed off the English international.

Mourinho looking to sign Reguilon

Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has been one of the high-profile players who have not found his place in Ange Postecoglou’s squad, and while Daniel Levy repeatedly tried to off-load his services in the past summer transfer window, no conclusion could be made, and the Spaniard was stuck on the books at White Hart Lane for another half season.

The club have done brilliantly to clear off surplus at N17, and the former Real Madrid fullback is next in line.

-> Former scout claims how Arsenal signing youngster over Tottenham is a big deal

Reguilon hasn’t had the best of times since he moved to the English top tier, and he has been subject to multiple loan moves away from N17 as he looks to find his feet after a disastrous time at White Hart Lane. And former Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho is willing to give the 27-year-old an out from his time in England as he looks to bring his former player to Fenerbahce in the upcoming winter transfer window per 90mins.

Mourinho wants Reguilon at Fenerbahce

Sergio has not donned the Lilywhites badge for two and a half years with his last appearance for Spurs coming in April 2022, and he has had loan spells away at Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, and Brentford. And now he looks to call curtains on his time at Hotspur Way with a probable move to Istanbul around the corner as the Portuguese coach looks to add left-back reinforcements to his backline.

The report doesn’t give any numbers about any probable transaction; however, at this time, a Spurs exit looks inevitable.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has been subject to ample frustrations at White Hart Lane owing to his inconsistency in front of goal, complemented by his inconsistent availability. And the Brazilian international has been linked with a move away from North London as he struggles to find his feet at N17.

The former Watford striker joined Tottenham on a £60 million deal from Everton; however, he hasn’t been able to replicate the performances that pushed Daniel Levy to spend such hefty figures on his signatures. He has only scored 15 goals in 69 appearances donning the Spurs badge.

Richy had been linked with a move away from Spurs in the summer window, with Saudi Pro League sides intensifying interest in landing his signature as his role at Hotspur Way came under scrutiny. However, no move materialised, and he has continued to serve the treatment room in the 2024/25 campaign.

And per GiveMeSport, the 27-year-old may move away from White Hart Lane at the end of the current campaign, with Spurs looking to make a decision on his future next summer. The report states that there is a very good chance that he may end up calling curtains on his disastrous time at N17.

He has returned to the matchday squad for Tottenham, with Ange Postecoglou not looking to rush him back to ensure he remains fit all season, as he continues to play second fiddle to Lilywhites summer arrival Dominic Solanke.

Description

There have been a lot of claims made around Tottenham Hotspur’s potential takeover as Amanda Staveley looks to purchase commendable shares in the North London-based club, and it has got the supporters at White Hart Lane beaming in excitement looking at everything that she had done at Newcastle United before her eventual exit.

She will not only bring reputable investment money but also expertise that saw the Toons go from a struggling side to one of the most exciting teams outside the Big Six.

And John Wenham, owner of reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, insists that her purchase of 12.5 percent stake in the club is “imminent,” and he thinks that the initial investment opens doors at White Hart Lane for a potential full takeover around the corner.

There were reports that Amanda Staveley is in advanced talks to invest in the Premier League heavyweights (h/t The Mirror), and those reports were topped by more rumours after she was spotted at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Sunday in the NFL fixture between the Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Staveley close to Tottenham investment

And Wenham, in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, suggests that the transaction is close to being finalised. He said:

-> Tottenham bolster youth ranks as podcast host claims Levy beat multiple clubs to sign U15 CB

“There is certainly something going on there.

“I’m sure that Staveley’s expertise and network of contacts would prove very valuable to Tottenham.

“Even if she only buys a 12.5 per cent stake now, which is the rumour, that leaves the door open to potentially purchasing more in the future, once her team is settled at the club. However, yes, it does look like something is fairly imminent.”

There were reports of Amanda Staveley looking to bring Newcastle boss Eddie Howe to White Hart Lane in case Ange Postecoglou were to be dismissed; however, we will see what happens on that front once she comes through the doors.

Moreover, it is yet to be finalised what role she will play behind the scenes, but we should know more once the ‘imminent’ deal is announced.

Tottenham Hotspur redeemed themselves following their pre-international break disappointment by securing a dominant 4-1 victory over West Ham United on Saturday. Despite a shaky start in the early Premier League kick-off, Spurs rallied with goals from Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, and Yves Bissouma to seal the win.

After the match, Ange Postecoglou shared his candid assessment of Destiny Udogie, acknowledging the left-back’s strong overall performance despite his involvement in West Ham’s opening goal.

Ange backs Destiny Udogie to become ‘fantastic footballer’ for Tottenham

Destiny Udogie, who joined Tottenham from Udinese in June 2023 and has since made 40 appearances for the club, currently earns £75,000 per week. Although he allowed Jarrod Bowen to slip past him, leading to Mohammed Kudus’ opener for West Ham, Udogie didn’t let the setback affect him. The Italian international responded with a fantastic performance, capping it off with an assist for Yves Bissouma in Tottenham’s 4-1 victory.

Ange Postecoglou, in his post-match interview with football.london, acknowledged that Destiny Udogie “could’ve done better” during the build-up to West Ham’s goal. However, the Tottenham manager praised the young Italian for making amends with a solid performance afterward. Postecoglou expressed full confidence in Udogie’s potential, stating that he has no doubt the full-back will develop into a “fantastic” player in the future.

“We’ve got to continually work with Destiny as he’s still a young player, it’s his second year in the Premier League but I’ve got no doubt that he’s going to become an outstanding player for us.

“The only way he’s going to become an outstanding player for us is if we keep exposing him, playing him and letting him learn from his mistakes.

Ange Postecoglou has done a wonderful job at White Hart Lane since taking over the reins at Tottenham Hotspur, as he has taken the club from hinges of struggles to one of the most exciting clubs in the continent and in such a short space of time. And while the North Londoners incurred a slow start to their 2024/25 campaign, Spurs recompensed that with a five-game winning streak.

The Greece-born tactician has also introduced more younger players to the side that adds multiple layers to the progress at Hotspur Way.

However, there have been huge movements behind the scenes at N17 that are going to see Amanda Staveley buy a reasonable stake in the club, and with her arrival, a lot is expected to change at the club. One of the reports per Alan Nixon via Patreon suggests that she is looking to bring Eddie Howe to White Hart Lane when she gets in a position of power at Spurs.

Will Ange Postecoglou survive ownership change?

Although contrasting those reports, former Lilywhites scout Bryan King believes that club chairman Daniel Levy has made promises to the Australian head coach about his position at the club. And he thinks that the former Celtic manager wouldn’t be concerned about his place at the club.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, King said:

-> Former scout claims how Arsenal signing youngster over Tottenham is a big deal

“I would think Postecoglou ignores that kind of speculation. I don’t think it’ll worry him reading that kind of stuff; he doesn’t seem that type to me. I’m sure he has had a guarantee from Levi in a conversation about this.

“That is if he has even bothered to ask him. If I were Postecoglou, I wouldn’t. You write what you write, but I’m not interested in it; that will be his attitude.”

It would be understandable that the Australian head coach would be feeling the pressure of a possible ownership shift and his place in the project with all the backend changes. However, it wouldn’t look like Spurs are in any rush to part ways with Ange Postecoglou, but we should know more once the new owner comes into the picture in the back room.

Tottenham receive boost to sign Jonathan David

Going into the recently concluded summer transfer window, bringing in a marquee striker was among the priorities at Tottenham Hotspur, and Daniel Levy delivered a £65 million stunning transfer by bringing in Dominic Solanke to fill the Harry Kane-shaped void at the apex of the front line.

As the Cherries ace came into the picture, a new striking problem started weeding at Hotspur Way in Richarlison, who has been a frustrating figure in the dressing room for his inconsistent performances complemented by his consistent time in the treatment room. And the chiefs at White Hart Lane are looking to replace him in the upcoming 2025 transfer intervals.

David set to leave Lille

The Lilywhites have been subject to links with a move for LOSC Lille centre-forward Jonathan David. The 24-year-old was intensively rumoured to move to the Premier League heavyweights in the summer transfer window; however, Daniel Levy opted against signing the Canadian forward, but he hasn’t given up just yet as Tottenham line up a potential move for the former Genk ace.

-> Former scout claims how Arsenal signing youngster over Tottenham is a big deal

The player’s contract with his current employers is due at the end of the ongoing season, and Spurs are looking to take advantage of the situation, and Football Espana suggested last week that the North Londoners are looking to compete with Arsenal to attain his signatures.

Now, Relevo reporter Matteo Moretto insists that David has decided not to sign a new contract at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, and that might have a far-reaching impact as it may force them to sell David in the winter window rather than risking losing him on a free transfer.

bound midfielder Johnny Cardoso

AC Milan could line up a January move for Real Betis midfielder Johnny Cardoso

It took some time but Tottenham Hotspur finally succeeded in moving Giovani Lo Celso off their books on the summer transfer window’s deadline day.

Giovani Lo Celso signed for Real Betis on August 31, returning to Benito Villamarin after four-and-a-half seasons ago. The La Liga side acquired the Argentinean midfielder’s signature in a £8.4m deal excluding add-ons, alongside handing Spurs the first option to buy Johnny Cardoso in the summer of 2025.

During talks for the transfer of Lo Celso, Betis agreed to an offer for Johnny Cardoso that can be triggered for a £21m fee. However, the Lilywhites have to exercise it during a two-week window in June 2025.

-> Tottenham player reflects on time in N17 and opens up on playing European football

Cardoso only signed for Betis in January from Internacional and impressed over 17 La Liga appearances during the second half of last season. This prompted Spurs to quickly arrange for the USA international’s future transfer agreement, but an Italian club are looking to disrupt their plans.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Diario AS, AC Milan are looking to sign Cardoso in the January transfer window despite the player not enjoying the best of starts to the new season. They view him as a potential option to replace Ismael Bennacer, who is a long-term casualty.

AC Milan may be interested in signing the Brazil-born defensive midfielder but Spurs have put themselves in a pole position to land him as part of the deal which saw them give the green light for Lo Celso to re-join Betis. Due to the clause inserted in the agreement, the North London outfit possesses the power to block a potential January transfer if the Serie A giants come calling for his signature.

Cardoso’s future at Benito Villamarin remains up in the air. After a slow start to the 2024/25 campaign, the midfielder would want to force his way into Manuel Pellegrini’s first XI, having made just two La Liga starts thus far. Pellegrini, for his part, would want to get the best out of the 17-cap USA international to maximise his value for a potential future sale.

-> Former Spurs scout suggests Tottenham target will leave his current employers

For now, Spurs must keep tabs on Cardoso’s performances in Spain before deciding next year whether to trigger the option to bring him to N17.
