Brentford manager Thomas Frank is set to join Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur as the north London club’s new manager following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou last week.

It’s a drop down the table for the Bees boss, with Brentford having finished seven placed above Spurs in 10th, but comes with the chance to manage in the Champions League. Postecoglou had been keen to stay in his role, teasing a third season during the club’s trophy parade last month, but that piece of silverware was not enough for Daniel Levy to forgive his club’s league woes.

Frank, who has been at Brentford since 2018, will end an impressive stay with the team. The 51-year-old has led the club to the Premier League and solidified their top flight status since debuting in the division four years ago.

Thomas Frank set to be appointed Tottenham Hotspur manager

In a fresh update on the managerial search on Monday afternoon, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote: “Thomas Frank and Spurs, matter of short time and formal steps… then he will sign in as new head coach.”

Postecoglou’s dismissal will come as a blow for the Aussie, who had been keen to highlight a shift of mentality at the club under his tenure that had led to the Europa League success. Incoming boss Frank has already shared his admiration for his predecessor.

Speaking ahead of the league meeting with Spurs in January, which Tottenham won 2-0 at the Gtech, Frank said: "We were also hit very hard by injuries last year so, from that perspective, I understand the situation Ange is in now at Tottenham. When results are also not going your way, that's tough. They're things we need to deal with as managers and I'm convinced that Ange is doing that well and he will get through it.

"He doesn't need advice, but he just needs to trust his own processes and trust what he believes in, which he does - that's the main thing. When we played Tottenham away earlier this season, we played a very, very good Tottenham team - I thought they were flying. When they hit their high level, they are very hard to play against.

"I expect a game between two teams that want to attack, so it could be open at times. We need to be the team that controls an open game, which is difficult."

Frank on ‘massive respect’ for Ange Postecolgou

Frank also referenced the club’s cup success at the time and predicted that Postecoglou may champion the side to lifting a trophy. He added: "I have massive respect for Ange. Speaking for myself, it is tough at times and feels like you're carrying everything on your shoulders. It is always my final call, it's the manager who stands there. That's why I can definitely put myself in his place. He's done very well to keep going and keep believing.

"Maybe, in one of his toughest moments, they will win a trophy, which will be massive for Tottenham. It could be one of those seasons where they suffer incredibly - and maybe they suffer even more - but they win a trophy."

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has hinted at a secret conversation had with Ange Postecoglou before the manager was sacked by the North London club last week.

The Aussie helped Spurs to a historic Europa League triumph last month and, despite speculation over his future, had outlined his desire to remain in the position. However, lifting that trophy was not enough to keep the club’s board pleased following a slump to 17th in the Premier League.

The Telegraph has reported that Tottenham Hotspur now face the threat of a ‘player revolt’ having sacked Postecoglou, who was well loved in the dressing room. The outlet added that chief football officer Scott Munn, who has also been sacked, was one of the manager’s biggest supporters.

Tottenham Hotspur face ‘player revolt’ after Ange Postecoglou sacking

The report claims that the incoming manager at Spurs will face a ‘huge task’ in repairing the bond with players who are disappointed to see Postecoglou leave. Several first team players have shared sad messages following the sacking, including club captain Son Heung-min.

The South Korea international wrote: “He [Postecoglou] won the trophy. Nobody did it, so …. look, it is not up to me or the players, but we just have to look at the facts, at the fact that we have not won in 17 years, today is the day we finally won it. It is the manager who wins the trophy. So we see what is going to happen.”

That has poured fuel onto the fire of a potential exit for Son amid interest from Saudi Arabia and now midfielder Bissouma has also written a message of his own. Shared on Sunday, the 28-year-old hinted at a secret conversation with Postecoglou, the nature of which could cast doubt over his future at the club.

Spurs midfielder hints at private Postecoglou conversation

Bissouma, who signed for Spurs for £30 million in 2022, made 44 appearances across all competitions last term. He wrote on Instagram: “Gaffer, I even don’t know where and how to start. I got a lot to say about how good you are as a human but I just wanna say thank you for everything from day one to the last one you did a lot in my life on and off the pitch I’ll never forget the energy you shared with us.

“Your mindset made us European champions and legends of this wonderful club. Today you leave like a great and it will remain forever engraved in the history of the club thank you for everything boss. and thank you to all the staff for everything you’ve done for me — on and off the pitch. You believed in me, pushed me, and helped me become better every day. I’ll always be grateful. Wishing you nothing but success in your next chapter. I’ll always remember the last conversation we had that’s changed a lot things [winking face] thanks.”

Bissouma, who played the full 90 minutes against Manchester United in the Europa League final, has another two years left on the four-year deal signed in 2022 when moving from Brighton. The Boy Hotspur last week claimed that the player’s agent Michael N’Cho had attracted ‘serious’ interest in the player from Wolves, Leeds United and Everton ahead of the summer with a £35 million fee touted.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to appoint Brentford manager Thomas Frank as their new head coach following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou last week.

The Aussie was dismissed after a dismal Premier League season which saw the club finish in a lowly 17th place. There was, of course, the small matter of Europa League triumph but that was not enough to keep Postecoglou at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a third campaign.

The manager had expressed his desire to continue his work at the club but Daniel Levy has chosen to start afresh. Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and Fulham manager Marco Silva had been touted as frontrunners but it now appears that it will be Brentford manager Thomas Frank who is appointed.

Fabrizio Romano provides Tottenham Hotspur update

In a fresh update on the managerial search on Monday afternoon, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote: “Thomas Frank and Spurs, matter of short time and formal steps… then he will sign in as new head coach.”

That comes after an earlier update from Romano that Frank is ‘keen’ on becoming the new Spurs head coach. He had added that Tottenham Hotspur were ‘aware’ of Frank’s preferences.

Frank has been at the Gtech Community Stadium since 2018 and is the second longest serving manager in the top flight, after Pep Guardiola. He is the third longest serving manager in the Premier League and EFL with Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver top of that table.

Frank achieved promotion to the Premier League with Brentford in 2021 via the play-offs and has gone on to help the Bees establish themselves as a top flight club. Brentford finished 10th in the Premier League last season, seven placed above Tottenham Hotspur.

Frank to Tottenham Hotspur considered a ‘done deal’

Spurs can, however, offer the coach the chance of managing in the Champions League, having booked a place in the tournament thanks to their Europa League triumph. Frank previously worked in the Denmark youth set-up and with Brondby in Denmark.

The Romano update comes after TalkSPORT’s Natalie Sawyer provided an update on the managerial search earlier today. She said: “Funnily enough, I have been doing a little bit of digging myself and after yesterday, I have accepted I am going to have to say goodbye. My sources have said yes, it’s pretty much a done deal. The issue now with Brentford is negotiating who else [backroom staff] can go with Thomas Frank. From my sources, who are close to those connected at the club it all comes down to who else from the backroom staff he can take.”

Brentford will, in turn, need to begin their own search for a new manager to replace the longstanding Frank. The early frontrunner for the post in west London is Justin Cochrane, who is currently an assistant under Frank at the Gtech Community Stadium. Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has also been mentioned following the Tractor Boys’ relegation to the Championship.

Tottenham are said to be ready to battle West Ham for a centre-back this summer, reportedly already working on their transfer plans despite not having a manager in place. Spurs do make some of their recruitment decisions above the manager, and many of the summer targets will already have been lined up ahead of the summer, although a new manager will get his say on incomings and outgoings.

Spurs need much more depth going into next season, especially being in the Champions League, and one of the positions they could do with bolstering is centre-back, a position that was starved in the wake of injuries last term.

Ben Davies has penned a new contract that keeps him around for another year, but Tottenham will likely sign a centre-back this summer, particularly with Cristian Romero’s future in doubt.

According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham are interested in a deal for Juventus centre-back Federico Gatti, who has been with the Italian side since 2022, making 80 league appearances. It’s claimed the Serie A side could sell the defender in the wake of Financial Fair Play issues. It’s claimed Juve would want around £29million to agree a sale.

That’s a fee Tottenham can afford, especially after qualifying for the Champions League, and Romero would go for much more than that if he does end up moving on. As for West Ham, that is a very big fee to pay in the absence of European football, but they are expected to strengthen at centre-back this summer.

Gatti on his time at Juventus

Speaking to Tuttosport last year about how he has adapted playing for a top club, Gatti said: “ I’ve gained personality, which is given by playing time, experience and errors. One reason I am grateful to Allegri is that he gave me the chance to grow. It’s hard when you go on the sidelines after an error, but he’s given me playing time and this allowed me to become a better footballer. It’s normal to grow at Juventus, I learn something new every day. I must still improve in the build-up.”

Asked what he can improve on, the centre-back added: “I get extra motivation when I hear the fans pushing. One thing I must work on, and I often speak with Allegri about it, is how to handle energy. I spend so much that sometimes I feel breathless for a few minutes. However, it is better to have too much power than nothing at all.

“I was lucky enough to play and score in the reverse fixture. I experience the derby adrenaline more during the week than during the match when I focus only on what I must do.”

Speaking to DAZN about making the step up to Juve, the defender said: “Of course, my life has changed, also because here you have to take care of every single detail, both on and off the pitch. At Juventus, you have to take care of every single moment of your day. At the beginning it takes some time, but with the trust that the coach, the club and my team-mates are giving me, I can only grow.”

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to significantly bolster their ranks this summer after a calamitous league campaign which saw the capital side finish in their lowest position since 1977.

The Lillywhites won 11, drew five and lost a staggering 22 games in the league last season while also crashing out in the fourth round of the FA Cup, but were able to offer supporters some respite in Europe by ending a long-standing 17-year-wait for a trophy by beating Manchester United in Bilbao in the Europa League final.

It meant Ange Postecoglou successfully fulfilled his bold promise of always winning a trophy in his second season, and although the football on offer was a far cry from what fans saw in his first season, he ensured supporters that in any TV show season three is always better than season two though he did allude to the uncertainty surrounding his long-term future by adding in a later interview: “I should have thought about it a bit more because as somebody rightly pointed out, sometimes they kill off the main character. I could be in strife there.”

The Australian’s fears have since been realised, with Spurs sacking the ex-Celtic boss on Friday night.

Spurs will need to make plenty of signings to try and make the club equipped for Europe’s top competition with a UEFA Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain on the horizon, along with a whole host of other challenging fixtures.

Plenty of big names have been linked with a move to the capital. With that in mind, we run through how Spurs could line up next season - if the rumours are to be believed.

Goalkeeper and defence

Guglielmo Vicario is poised to keep his place in between the posts as he looks to bounce back from an injury-hit second season. The Italian was signed by Postecoglou and played every game in his first campaign meaning he’s likely to remain first choice ahead of Antonín Kinský.

At right-back Pedro Porro, who claimed Postecoglou should have kept his job, is likely to keep his spot as he aims to continue progressing in his third season at the club and stake a claim for Spain’s World Cup squad in North America.

At centre-back Micky van de Ven is expected to remain a key player due to his ball-playing abilities and speed to thrive in a high line. But the same cannot be said for Christian Romero, who could be tempted by interest from Atletico Madrid.

This could lead to Tottenham signing a new central defender in the form of Inter Milan ace Yann Aurel Bisseck. The 24-year-old German racked up 46 appearances for the Champions League finalists but is the subject of interest from Spurs, according to Inter Web.

Elsewhere at left-back, it appears likely that Destiny Udogie will be the first choice, with Djed Spence providing competition from the subs bench.

Midfield and attack

Xavi Simons is understood to be a big name target for Tottenham as they look to add a fresh sense of creativity to the midfield. The RB Leipzig ace whose described as an ‘exceptional’ talent is understood to be a top target for the London side, according to TEAMtalk.

Elsewhere, in the deeper central role, Lucas Bergvall is expected to play an even bigger role after a strong breakout campaign, with the Swede potentially forming a partnership with Pape Matar Sarr.

In attack, Spurs are believed to be considering activating the £68m release clause of Crystal Palace hero Eberechi Eze. Football Insider understands Spurs could sell Heung Min-Son to raise funds for the deal, with the South Korean struggling to match his exceptionally high standards of recent years.

Club-record signing Dominic Solanke is expected to lead the line for another season. He impressed when playing for Spurs in the Europa League but only managed nine in the Premier League due to injury, which was 10 less than he got in his final season at Bournemouth.

Elsewhere, on the right side of attack, Dejan Kulusevski is expected to play in attack in what could potentially be a mouth-watering attacking side.

Tottenham have been handed a big boost in their bid to hire a new manager. Spurs are now hoping to lock in a new manager well in advance of pre-season beginning in just a few weeks’ time.

Daniel Levy decided to sack Ange Postecoglou on Friday, with the Australian paying the price for a hugely disappointing Premier League campaign despite winning the Europa League and delivering Tottenham’s first trophy in 17 years.

Tottenham’s search for a new boss to replace Postecoglou appears to be a short one, with the early favourite emerging as the sole option. Brentford’s Thomas Frank quickly became the favourite, and Tottenham seem to have zeroed in on the Bees boss.

The one question was whether Frank wants the job given Brentford have just enjoyed an impressive season. The Dane has enjoyed a consistent spell with the West London side and is said to be very comfortable where he is, but it seems the promise of a step up and Champions League football will be enough to change his mind.

Fabrizio Romano has reported: “Tottenham are aware of Thomas Frank’s position: he wants the job and he’s keen on becoming new Spurs coach.” Spurs must now agree a fee with Brentford, who still have Frank under contract for another two years .

But it does look as though Frank’s appointment at Tottenham is becoming more likely, with likely second option, Fulham boss Marco Silva, looking still unexplored at this stage with Frank the clear first choice.

Frank’s style and appeal

Frank has been linked with Spurs in the past, and speaking back in 2023, former Spurs man Paul Robinson told Tottenham Hotspur News: “He’s done an excellent job at Brentford. He’s guaranteed them a top ten finish, he’s proven at Premier League level. I think it’s difficult for Tottenham at the moment. Julian Nagelsmann clearly wasn’t interested in the job. Pochettino has gone to Chelsea. I think the managerial appointment at Tottenham is going to be key.”

Speakng back in 2024 to Sky Sports, Frank spoke about how he uses statistics in his planning. "With Expected Goals and these kinds of stats, that is definitely something we can read into," he said. "Then there are the performances we look through with video, my eyes, the feeling and all sorts of other stats. With all that added together, there's definitely a feeling we could have got more out of the season - and that is without talking about the injuries.

"I think we have the shortest distance to goal when we take our shots out of all the teams in the Premier League, which I'm very pleased with because we like to have a focus on making the chance big if possible. We also rely on a lot of crosses or play balls in behind, which is the best way - in my opinion - to create chances. It says that we are very good at creating chances and it's hugely impressive that we keep being very good at that.

"One of the reasons why we maybe haven't got as many points as we should do is that too many of the chances we've been giving away are too high quality. That's a combination of us not defending well enough in certain situations and making some bad mistakes that we normally don't; I think we made three where we just passed it directly to the opponent.”

On his preferred style of play, he added: “There's no doubt I'd prefer to play a 4-3-3, but we've shown we can play a lot of different systems and I don't think there's one that's better than another, depending on the players.

"I probably still prefer to play 4-3-3, but we need to have the right players available to do it. A big part of the season, we were without our two best full-backs and without our two best wingers, so it's very difficult to go 4-3-3 as they are crucial to that system.”

Tottenham appear to have decided upon their main managerial target after sacking Ange Postecoglou on Friday. Spurs may have won their first trophy in 17 years just over two weeks ago, securing Champions League qualification in the process, but a disastrous Premier League campaign meant the club decided to fire Postecoglou.

The Australian boss will have been waiting patiently for the call during his time off with his family back home Down Under, but when it did arrive, it wasn’t good news. In a statement made through his agency, the now unemployed boss wrote: “When I reflect on my time as Manager of Tottenham Hotspur my overriding emotion is one of pride. The opportunity to lead one of England’s historic football clubs and bring back the glory it deserves will live with me for a lifetime. Sharing that experience with all those who truly love this club and seeing the impact it had on them is something I will never forget.

“That night in Bilbao was the culmination of two years of hard work, dedication and unwavering belief in a dream. There were many challenges to overcome and plenty of noise that comes with trying to accomplish what many said was not possible. We have also laid foundations that mean this club should not have to wait 17 more years for their next success. I have enormous faith in this group of players and know there is much more potential and growth in them.”

Tottenham thanked Postecoglou and told him he was always welcome in North London in their own statement, but they have little time for sentiment. Spurs must identify and hire a new manager quickly with pre-season approaching, given they spent so much time mulling over the Postecoglou decision. The option is, of course, there for them to take their time, but the reality is that they will miss out on transfer targets in the meantime, with players unlikely to sign for a club without a manager.

Manager search latest

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs actually reached out to former Brighton and current Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi, but rejection means they will focus all efforts on appointing the favourite for the role - Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

Romano posted on X: “Tottenham are prepared to advance in talks with leading candidate Thomas Frank in the next days. Spurs also approached Roberto De Zerbi in the recent days… but the Italian head coach rejected as he wants to stay at Olympique Marseille.”

Frank is under contract with Brentford until 2027, so it’s likely Tottenham will be hit with a significant bill to wrap up the appointment. The North London club are also going to have to convince him to make the move, with the Bees boss having spoken in glowing terms about his current club and its owner in recent days. The Brentford boss is going to want money to spend and to know he will have the time to make a true impact. After all, it is not a risk-free endeavour for Frank, who is achieving success in a good environment at Brentford.

Tottenham will miss out on one of their transfer targets this summer as they continue to mull over their managerial situation. Spurs are yet to decide who will be in charge next summer after a disastrous Premier League campaign.

Ange Postecoglou delivered a Europa League title and Champions League qualification, but that may not be enough to save his job. It’s unclear what Spurs will do with the Australian, but it does appear they are searching for a new boss.

On the face of it, it looks like a plus that Spurs are taking their time to consider their options, but there is also a big downside. Players are far less likely to sign up for a project when they don’t know who is going to lead that project. That may well have been the case for Tottenham target Angel Gomes, who was available on a free transfer from Lille this summer after he allowed his contract to run down.

The former Manchester United midfielder had held talks with Spurs and West Ham, but it seems he has chosen to go elsewhere. According to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Gomes rejected Spurs and the Hammers in favour of a move to Marseille. Crook posted “Angel Gomes has rejected #THFC to join Marseille. Also held talks with #WHUFC. “

That’s a big blow for Spurs, with Gomes an attractive target having racked up more than 100 league appearances for Lille, while he is still only 24 and an England international. Speaking to The Athletic in the past about his decision to leave Manchester United, the midfielder said: “ It’s a big gamble leaving United, leaving my home in Manchester, going into the unknown. I felt like I took a thousand steps backward, but it’s all coming to fruition.”

On his playing style, he added: “I would like to say I am just a midfielder. I can operate in all three roles: I can play as the deep-lying midfielder, I can play as a No 8, I can play as a No 10. I just love to play in the midfield and be able to distribute and help the team play in all different areas of the pitch. I am confident. I like keeping the ball, I like taking responsibility.”

Tottenham may now find some urgency in their manager search now that they are seeing the real cost of their slow decision-making. Meanwhile, West Ham will be equally as disappointed to miss out.

This is a big summer for Graham Potter, who needs a strong start to the season, and with a new striker and other positions in need of strengthening, they could have done with a high-level freebie signing in the middle of the park. The Hammers will now have to pivot, and it’s likely their spending bill will be higher as a result. A midfield signing will almost certainly be high on Potter’s agenda ahead of next season, along with attacking signings, and more attackers could be required depending on the future of Mohammed Kudus.

Tottenham Hotspur are on the hunt for a new manager after Ange Postecoglou was sacked by the club on Friday evening.

The Australian had led the club to their first trophy in 17 years as they defeated Manchester United in the Europa League final last month. However, Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League with 38 points from their 38 games with 22 losses.

That proved to be too much for the Tottenham hierarchy to overlook, with the decision to part ways with Postecoglou announced around two weeks after they finished the season with a 4-1 loss at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Tottenham give reasoning for Ange Postecoglou sacking

Spurs are one of six English sides who will be playing Champions League football next season and in their statement which confirmed Postecoglou’s departure, the club insisted “it is crucial that we are able to compete on multiple fronts and believe a change of approach will give us the strongest chance for the coming season and beyond.”

The club statement further read: “We are extremely grateful to Ange for his commitment and contribution during his two years at the club. Ange will always be remembered as only the third manager in our history to deliver a European trophy, alongside legendary figures Bill Nicholson and Keith Burkinshaw.

“However, the board has unanimously concluded that it is in the best interests of the club for a change to take place. Following a positive start in the 2023/24 Premier League (PL) season, we recorded 78 points from the last 66 PL games.

“This culminated in our worst-ever PL finish last season. At times there were extenuating circumstances - injuries and then a decision to prioritise our European campaign. Whilst winning the Europa League this season ranks as one of the club’s greatest moments, we cannot base our decision on emotions aligned to this triumph.”

Tottenham eye Premier League pair to replace Ange Postecoglou

Spurs have sacked Postecoglou without having a replacement immediately lined up. However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Thomas Frank and Marco Silva both remain “high on the shortlist” of potential candidates. The pair have been linked with the Tottenham role for a number of months amid uncertainty over Postecoglou’s future. Romano added that a decision was coming “in the upcoming days.”

It has cost Daniel Levy about £4m in compensation to sack Postecoglou and with Frank and Silva still under contract at Brentford and Fulham, respectively, there is going to be more money forked out to get either of them on board in North London.

Frank has a contract with the Bees until 2027, with Sky Sports naming him as the leading contender for the job. The outlet also claims that Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is being eyed by as possible candidate by Spurs. All three managers have impressed at clubs with smaller budgets than Spurs, who are able to better strengthen this summer given the associated windfall that comes from qualifying for the Champions League.

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a defining window of transfer activity as they aim to transform a side that finished 17th in the Premier League into one equipped to compete in the Champions League next season.

The North London giants endured their worst league campaign in recent history after picking up just 39 points, and falling to defeat on 22 occasions in the league - their most since 1935 when the club were relegated from the top-flight.

They also conceded an alarming 66 goals which is their joint most since the inaugural season of the Premier League era in 1992/93 when they were managed by Doug Livermore and Ray Clemence.

However, despite these setbacks Spurs most importantly earned their first major trophy since 2008 and their first European honour since 1984 to secure automatic qualification into Europe’s elite competition.

As it stands, it’s not yet been determined if Ange Postecoglou will be in the dugout for next season, but transfer activity is thought to be ongoing in the background as the Lillywhites prepare for an important period of transfer business.

Tottenham plot move for MLS sensation

Tottenham have reportedly held talks with MLS club New England Revolution as they bid to sign young left-back Peyton Miller.

Blazing Musket senior editor Seth Macomber posted on X: “I’m told that Tottenham has had talks with the New England Revolution about acquiring Peyton Miller.

“This report comes on the heels of @ByDougMcIntyre saying that at least one English Premier League club is interested in buying the 17-year-old.”

Miller has two seasons of first team experience in the MLS and has so far racked up 24 appearances for New England, contributing one goal and four assists. He primarily plays in the left-back position but has on occasion been utilised in a more advanced left midfield role.

He’s represented the USA National team at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-20 level and has played a combined total of 14 games across those age groups and has scored two goals.

Miller is believed to be on the radar of ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, who is now in charge of the USA national team at senior level, and could prove to be a long-term successor to Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, who is currently the first choice in that position.

Tottenham must wait to integrate Peyton Miller into their team

Tottenham are believed to be pushing to sign Peyton Miller this summer but are aware of FIFA rules which stipulate that the teenager would not be able to link up with the capital club until he turns 18.

This would likely lead to Miller being loaned back out to New England for another season before linking up with his new teammates at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

As it stands, Spurs could enter the season with only one natural left-back in Destiny Udogie although Djed Spence has proven he can play in that position with great effect despite being a natural right-back.

Spurs have already released Sergio Reguilon, with the Spaniard struggling to get anywhere near the standards he showed when he first arrived from Real Madrid. Overall, the 28-year-old played just four league matches this season after spending time on loan at Atletico, Manchester United and Brentford in recent years.

Tottenham also face a decision over the future of long-serving defender Ben Davies, who has racked up over 350 appearances for the club since arriving from Swansea City.
