Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete the loan signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani on a Deadline Day coup before the window slams shut this evening.

The 26-year-old spent the back end of last season on loan at Juventus and was prolific with 10 goals in 22 appearances for the Serie A giants. Nonetheless, he is not part of immediate first team plans in the French capital this season.

Spurs have already bolstered their wide options this summer with the arrival of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55 million, with the loan of Bayern Munich star Mathys Tel also made permanent. However, Thomas Frank is yet to have an out-and-out centre forward added to his squad.

Tottenham Hotspur agree deal for Paris Saint-Germain striker

Muani now looks the man to do that with Tottenham Hotspur missing out on a move for Brentford striker Yoane Wissa. Taking to social media platform X shortly after 1 pm on Deadline Day, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano wrote: “BREAKING: Randal Kolo Muani to Tottenham, here we go! Deal done for loan move until June 2026. Paris Saint-Germain accept Spurs proposal as Kolo Muani wanted the move + out of the project. Exclusive story, confirmed.”

Romano then added that Spurs will not have a clause that would allow them to buy Muani at the end of the season with fresh discussions needed for that move, should the club want it to happen. Muani cost PSG a huge €90 million when joining from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023.

He has gone on to score 11 goals for PSG, picking up two Ligue 1 titles. It’s a head-turning coup for Spurs with Muani set to bring Champions League experience.

Muani hailed as ‘complete striker’ by Kylian Mbappe

Speaking about the player when he first arrived at the Parc des Princes, former PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe said: ‘He is a striker who offers different game options to our team. He is very complete and has an impressive volume of play. We are happy with the game he played on Friday and I hope he scores tomorrow. Tomorrow we will try to get him to score a goal.”

It’s a boost for Spurs with Dominic Solanke’s injury proving more problematic than first thought. After cameos in the first two fixtures of the Premier League campaign, he was absent from the matchday squad against AFC Bournemouth.

Speaking about Solanke, Frank said: “I’m hopeful that he will be back after the international break. Sometimes, you know, we just take a little bit longer time. It’s not like he re-injured it again.

“So, you can say if you have a muscle injury, then you can maybe re-injure, it’s nothing to do with that. It’s not progressing as quick as we hoped for, but we are still positive that it can be solved in the next two weeks.”

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all had a busy summer on the transfer front. They all have the chance to bring in some more new faces before the end of the window. The trio also have the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door as well if needed.

Other London clubs Crystal Palace, West Ham, Brentford and Fulham may also do some business before the deadline. The deadline this year is at a slightly earlier time than usual at 19:00pm. Teams will be able to be granted extra time if needed through the use of dealsheets so here is everything you need to know about them...

What is a transfer deal sheet?

A deal sheet is a form that allows a club to confirm that an agreement has been reached with a player. They are then granted extra time to finalise the deal. Teams have to complete it in the last two hours of the window.

How long does a transfer deal sheet work for?

A deal sheet can be used for two hours from 19:00pm. It must have been submitted beforehand from 17:00pm onwards. If the necessary paperwork hasn’t been submitted beyond 21:00pm, a deal can’t be passed.

When does the transfer window shut?

The transfer window shuts at 19:00pm in England on Monday 1st September. Usually it closes at 23:00pm but it has been pushed forward this year.

What does a transfer deal sheet consist of?

The deal sheet has to state...

The selling club

The buying club

The transfer fee

The guaranteed sums

The contingency payments

When were transfer deal sheets created?

Deal sheets were brought in back in 2008. Chelsea’s signing of Enzo Fernandez back in 2023 required a deal sheet. He joined from Benfica for £107million. The move was announved the following morning and the player said at the time: “I’m grateful to Chelsea and its ownership for doing everything they could to make me a part of this project. I’m happy and excited to join the Pride of London, to play in the best league in the world and to compete for the biggest trophies. I can’t wait to play in front of our fans and help my team-mates on and off the pitch.”

Who have Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur signed this summer so far?

Tottenham now look set to have a clear road to the signing of a title-winning centre-back. Spurs are hoping to strengthen further on deadline day, but time is running out, with the deadline at an earlier time of 7pm on Monday.

Thomas Frank has already been handed new signings like Joao Palhinha and Mohammed Kudus, but there are other areas that still require more depth, especially ahead of a Champions League campaign.

A new striker could be targeted, with Dominic Solanke’s injury over the weekend serving as a reminder of the lack of true depth behind two strikers who have had their battles with injuries over the years. Meanwhile, defensive depth is also important, with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven both struggling with injuries last season, while Radu Dragusin is going to remain out until early winter after the serious injury he suffered last season.

With those two players the clear starters, Frank will likely want to add a veteran player who can compete well and provide back-up but for an affordable fee. One player who fits that category is Manchester City star Manuel Akanji, who could be available for around £17.3million, and perhaps a little less.

Spurs have been credited with a strong interest, while AC Milan have also been tipped to make a move for the Swiss international. But it seems Milan are now going all out to sign Liverpool star Joe Gomez.

The issue is that Liverpool are unlikely to allow Gomez to leave unless they can get a deal for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi over the line on deadline day, keeping in mind they are also in the process of wrapping up a record £125million deal for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.

Fabrizio Romano has posted on X: “There’s still no green light for Joe Gomez to AC Milan from Liverpool. Marc Guehi deal not done yet at this stage and medical/travel timing also an issue.“

The good news in that update is that it seems as though Milan have made Gomez their clear number one target ahead of Akanji, and that could suggest Tottenham are ahead in the race to land the Manchester City veteran.

Akanji has enjoyed a solid spell with City, and Pep Guardiola previously said of him: “With [assistant manager] Carlos Vicens on set pieces, he said: ‘you only have to tell [Akanji] once [and] he knows it’. The movement defensively and offensively, he executes it perfectly. This is a gift for the manager. Some players, you have to explain ten times or train ten times to show what you are thinking or what you want to do. This guy needed just one training session and he got it.

“The movement he has to do as a full-back, the high pressing, he didn’t train once, and he did it perfectly. With the ball he is a magnificent player. Our build-up should be three in the back and that’s why in the position we normally play Kyle [Walker] or John [Stones]. He was absolutely perfect. Proof again that intelligent people, always it pays off.”

Tottenham are said to be pushing for a late move to sign a new striker as they look to add depth at the top end of the pitch. It has been a respectable start from Spurs, who would likely have been pleased with six points from their first three games when looking at the fixture list.

The results haven’t been as thought, with a win at Man City and a defeat at home to Bournemouth, but two wins from three games is still not to be overlooked for a team who came into this season with a lot to improve on after a disastrous campaign of last.

During the Bournemouth defeat last time out, Tottenham lost Dominic Solanke to injury, with the striker picking up an ankle issue. Frank said after the game: “I’m hopeful he will be back after the international break."

Frank was then asked if he needed another striker given there are only two clear options between Richarlison and Solanke, although Brennan Johnson can arguably play there. "No. I would say not particularly,” the Dane responded. “To have the three strikers in the squad can also cause a problem as you can only play one at a time. It’s a fine balance. I’m not saying we will never go for another striker at another time but I’m happy with Dom and Richarlison."

Despite that, it seems Tottenham are indeed pushing to add a third strike ahead of Monday’s 7pm deadline. Three strikers may well be a wise idea heading into a Champions League campaign, and both Solanke and Richarlison have had some bad luck with injuries in the past.

PSG star Randal Kolo Muani is said to be Tottenham’s target on deadline day, with Fabrizio Romano posting on X: “EXCL: Tottenham make contact to explore Randal Kolo Muani deal conditions after interest revealed overnight. Spurs are informed of Kolo available + serious interest but depends on fee and numbers as PSG want obligation to buy guaranteed.”

PSG signed Muani for as much as £77.9million in 2023, and they are likely to want to make a big chunk of that back, albeit they may have to take a hit given the striker was loaned out last season. Muani spent the second half of last season on loan with Juventus, scoring eight goals in 16 league games.

He has made 36 league appearances for PSG in all, scoring eight times. Spurs will prefer a loan deal to see what Muani can produce in the Premier League, with the striker having been inconsistent in front of goal at PSG, albeit he did have a good run during that Juventus loan spell.

At this stage, it would be a surprise if Tottenham agreed an obligation to buy worth anything over £50million, and it would be a surprise if PSG agreed for a fee in that region, although there have been some reports claiming the European champions will slash their asking price to offload the forward.

Romano has since added in a new update: “EXCL: Tottenham have almost agreed personal terms with Randal Kolo Muani. Negotiations ongoing with PSG on deal formula as revealed, with Spurs insisting for an obligation to buy.”

Brentford have agreed a £55 million deal with Newcastle United for the transfer of striker Yoane Wissa to St James’ Park on Deadline Day.

The Magpies are in the market for attacking reinforcements with star man Alexander Isak expected to finally make the switch to Liverpool for a Premier League record fee of £125 million after a drawn out saga.

Newcastle United have added Nick Woltemade to the side from Stuttgart for a hefty £69 million. With Isak having netted 27 goals in all competitions last season, and Callum Wilson leaving for West Ham, Eddie Howe is keen to bring in another goalscorer.

Newcastle United agree Yoane Wissa fee with Brentford

That appears to be Wissa with Newcastle United reaching a breakthrough in discussions with Brentford. The Magpies had initially bid £35 million for the player, who has been with the Bees since 2021, but the west London club have driven a hard bargain.

Taking to social media platform X on Deadline Day, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano wrote: “BREAKING: Yoane Wissa to Newcastle, here we go! Deal verbally agreed right now between the clubs. Fee worth £55m package.

“Brentford accept formal proposal from #NUFC and Wissa on his way for medical later today. After Isak gone, Wissa and Woltemade join for Eddie Howe.”

That news comes as a blow for Tottenham Hotspur. Thomas Frank had been credited with interest in bringing Wissa to work with him at Spurs all summer, having labelled the player as ‘remarkable’ and a ‘super player’ while at the Gtech.

Tottenham Hotspur credited with interest in Bees forward

Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope confirmed that Spurs were ‘still interested’ in a move for Wissa over the weekend but that the striker had his heart set on a switch to the North East. Tottenham Hotspur’s need for a striker before the window slams shut today has been emphasised by news over the injury to Dominic Solanke.

The forward was only afforded cameos from the bench in the first two fixtures of the top flight season and was then absent from the matchday squad against AFC Bournemouth last weekend. Speaking about the player’s fitness, Frank said: “I’m hopeful that he will be back after the international break.

Leicester City player Bilal El Khannouss is reportedly closing in on a move to VfB Stuttgart after both Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur backed out of a deal for the player.

According to Football Insider, the Foxes are anticipating the player’s exit before the 7pm transfer deadline. He has been the subject of a £26m bid from the Bundesliga side while last week it was reported by the same outlet that Leeds United were ready to “accelerate” their interest in the player.

The same report notes how Palace backed out of a deal after Leicester raised his valuation to £35m. Amid the report of a £26m offer, Sky Sports Switzerland reporter Sacha Tavolieri has reported that the forward is close to joining Stuttgart.

He said on X: “Bilal El Khannouss set to become a VfB Stuttgart player! The Moroccan's set to fly in the coming hours to Germany in order to undergo his medical tests.

“Leicester City & VfB are currently fixing the last details right now. Four year deal.”

Crystal Palace and Tottenham backed out of Bilal El Khannouss transfer

Speaking on the Football Insider, Inside Track podcast, Pete O’Rourke said last week: “There’ll be other clubs looking at El Khannouss between now and the end of the window

“He looked like was heading for Selhurst Park, El Khannouss – talks were advanced between both clubs, but the deal since has fallen through.

“Leicester are expecting further interest in the player and they’ll find it hard to keep hold of him between now and the end of the window.

“The player himself wants to play at the highest level, rather than in the Championship.”

A report from TBR Football last week claimed that Palace had even managed to agree a fee in the region of £32m. The same report said that both the Eagles and their London rivals Tottenham stepped away from a deal as Leicester hiked the price up to £40m.

They believed a move to Saudi Arabia could generate that income but the player is keen for a Premier League move and neither Spurs or Palace were willing to hit that amount.

Crystal Palace and Tottenham will be feeling angry about Stuttgart move for Bilal El Khannouss

While both the Eagles and Palace have backed out of a deal for El Khannouss, they will be left feeling angry about the latest developments. With a £26m bid reported to have got the ball rolling, both Premier League sides will wonder why Leicester did not same amount of money from either of them.

Palace especially were ready to fork out £6m more but now will not be signing the player. It is a situation that has stopped Spurs and Palace signing one of their targets and cost the Foxes more money. It just smacks of poor business from the Championship side.

El Khannouss was a potential replacement for Eberechi Eze after his move to Arsenal. Spurs had been interested in Eze and agreed a deal before a late hijack from the Gunners.

Tottenham Hotspur have the opportunity to bring in some new signings before the end of the transfer window. They have until the deadline on Monday at 7pm to get any final bits of business over the line. The London outfit also have the chance to let some players head out the exit door as well if needed to free up space and funds.

Thomas Frank was picked as their replacement for Ange Postecoglou in the summer. Prior to his move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he caught the eye with fellow Premier League side Brentford. His team have six points on the board from their first three fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur eye Ademola Lookman

According to Fichajes, Spurs will ‘decide’ to move for Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman before the market shuts. The 27-year-old, who is a Nigeria international with 27 caps under his belt, is under contract in Italy until 2027 so still has two years left to run down. He has been playing his football in Serie A since 2022.

Lookman, who is from London, is a key player for his current club but they could face a battle to keep hold of him amid attention from elsewhere. He has made 117 appearances in all competitions and has scored 52 goals, 20 of which have came last season. He also has seven goal contributions in the Champions League so far in his career.

The forward started out at Charlton Athletic and broke into their first-team as a youngster. Everton lured him to the top flight in 2016 and he spent three years with the Toffees, some of which he spent away on loan at RB Leipzig, Fulham and Leicester City. Atalanta came calling three years ago and he hasn’t looked back since.

Will Tottenham Hotspur sign Ademola Lookman?

It remains to be seen at this stage whether Spurs will be able to snap up Lookman from Atalanta. He would be an eye-catching coup if they managed to get him through the door. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch.

The London outfit were beaten 1-0 at home by AFC Bournemouth this weekend. Speaking afterwards, Frank said: “We clearly didn’t perform well today. We played against a very good Bournemouth team that we know can make it difficult for any team in the league. They played to their strengths. They did that very well and we didn’t handle it well. We knew exactly what they came with and we trained for it.

“We just didn’t handle it well enough in terms of the balls in behind, the second balls, duels in the middle of the park. That’s the defensive side and on the offensive side we struggled to find good enough solutions to get through phase one and two so we could get up there and put a bit of pressure on them. We only did that in the last 15 where we put on good pressure and could have equalised. I think over the game it was fair that Bournemouth won."

Tottenham are said to have lined up another Premier League player as a back-up in case they cannot get a centre-back deal over the line before Monday evening’s transfer deadline.

Spurs are said to be keen to add depth to their back-line before the window closes, with Radu Dragusin set to remain out until the winter. Tottenham saw first-hand last season just how much of an impact injuries at centre-back can have, with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven missing time.

Reports have suggested that Manchester City star Manuel Akanji is an option, with the centre-back being chased by Milan and Spurs. The 30-year-old title winner could be available for between £12million and £17million, and that would allow the Lilywhites to add key depth for a bargain price.

But whether Tottenham will win the raise for Akanji remains to be seen, with Milan pushing hard to get a deal done at this stage. One alternative could be Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, who could be available, according to Sky Sports, with Spurs credited with an interest.

Gomez is under contract until 2027, and The Times have reported that the defender could be sold if Marc Guehi makes the move to Anfield on deadline day. Reports elsewhere have suggested the Guehi move is a likely one. Interestingly, Milan are also credited with an interest with Gomez, with the Italian club also likely seeing him as an alternative to Akanji.

It’s unclear how much Liverpool will ask for to sell the centre-back, but there could be a deal to be done for a reasonable price, especially with Guehi arrives, keeping in mind Gomez has not had the best of luck with injuries.

Slot praise for Gomez

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has spoken about Gomez in glowing terms in the past. He previously said: “That says a lot about his mentality and it also says a lot about his quality, if you don’t play that much and you come in in a game where your team-mates were out-played for 45 minutes, that you can come in and play like this.

“It also says a lot about his mentality in recent weeks and months where didn’t play that much that he is now able, without playing a lot, to play 90 minutes on Wednesday and then put in a performance like this on Saturday.

“This is what people told me when I came in. Joe is a top, top, top professional who no matter what position he is in always gives his best for the team and for himself as well, and I think he got the reward for it because I think the fans loved what they saw. I definitely did.”

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has rubbished the idea that Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is being kept in the dark over the future of star man Alexander Isak.

The 25-year-old has been the centre of a huge transfer saga this summer amid reported interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool. The Telegraph claims that the Champions are now set to bid a staggering £130 million for Isak.

The Magpies paid £63 million to sign the talisman from Real Sociedad in 2022 and he has gone on to bag 62 goals for the Tyneside outfit. Liverpool have already splurged £79 million on buying Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer but do not appear to be done strengthening their front line.

Tim Sherwood drops Alexander Isak transfer claim

Isak has not featured for Newcastle United so far this season and has been frozen out of first team plans amid reports that the player is trying to force through a transfer. However, Sherwood provided an alternative conspiracy theory when talking to Sky Sports.

He said: “I think he’s handled it really well but he’s not been left in the dark, let’s be honest about it. Eddie knows what’s been happening all along. The perception is he’s in the dark, he’s not. Alan will tell you, Isak would have spoken to Arne Slot. He would’ve spoke to Michael Edwards, Richard Hughes. This is how it works, let’s not kid ourselves that all of a sudden they’ve agreed a fee and then they can start talking.

“They’ve encouraged him and said you’ve got to do your job now to try and get yourself out of the football club. No matter how he’s gone about it, I don’t genuinely believe that he’s refused to play for Newcastle. I cannot believe that he would do that, I don’t believe he has. I don’t think Isak has refused to play for Newcastle. I think they know all along that this was going to happen and that it is up to Liverpool to come forward now.

Newcastle United sign £69m Stuttgart striker

“I think they decided to keep him away from it, up to now. This will get done and thrash itself out. If you don’t let him go now, you end up without the money or the player, they are in a corner now. Let him go, it looks like you bought a striker in and you’ll need another, and need the finances to do that.”

Arsenal were linked with a move for Isak earlier in the window but have since invested £55 million in Viktor Gyokeres since then. Newcastle United confirmed the signing of Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade for a club record £69 million this weekend, which could open the door for an Isak exit.

Sherwood also gave his verdict on Spurs’ new signing Xavi Simons, who arrives at the club from RB Leipzig for £52 million. He said: “They’ve got a lot of players in their squad (who are) very similar. Mathys Tel, why did they bring him in? I mean, he’s blocking up pathways. They’re all as good as each other.

“What I’m saying is I wanted them to sign a player who’s going to go straight into the first-team and be a mainstay in the side. I’m not sure Xavi Simons is that man. He excites me at times. He’s a bottle of pop, sometimes he fizzes and you go, wow. Then, for a couple of games, you don’t see him. I hope I’m wrong. I hope he gets some consistency.”

In other news, European club scared that Tottenham will hijack defender transfer due to player's 'preference'.

Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be considering a late summer swoop for experienced Netherlands international Nathan Ake.

The North London side have enjoyed a fine start to the season after securing victories over both Burnley and Manchester City in the opening two matches of the campaign and have recently experienced a major breakthrough in this year’s summer transfer window after agreeing a £51.8m deal to sign exciting RB Leipzig wonderkid Xavi Simons ahead of rivals Chelsea.

Thomas Frank’s pursuit of a No.10 has been well documented throughout the summer months after failed approaches for Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze, but it’s not the only position the former Brentford man is keen to strengthen as he also looks to add quality to a defence that leaked a staggering 65 goals last season under predecessor Ange Postecoglou.

Ake made his Premier League debut for Chelsea in 2012 after progressing through the club’s academy and has nearly 13 years of top-flight experience. He played at left-back against Frank’s side during a 2-0 defeat but could potentially return to the capital before the end of the window.

Tottenham plot move for Nathan Ake

According to Give Me Sport , Tottenham are working on a deal to try and sign 30-year-old Manchester City defender Nathan Ake before the end of the summer window. The outlet understands Spurs have held talks with the 54-time Netherlands international, who has played alongside Micky van de Ven and potential incoming signing Xavi Simons at international level.

Ake has racked up 236 Premier League appearances over the course of his career, scoring 18 times and making nine assists across spells at Chelsea, Watford, Bournemouth and most recently Manchester City. He’s a versatile defender that can be utilised centrally and as a left-back when needed. He’s an excellent ball-playing defender with great ability to read the game which has made him immensely popular with Pep Guardiola throughout his City career.

Overall, he’s won four league titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and a UEFA Champions League with the Sky Blues while making 146 appearances across all competitions. However, injuries have hampered his progress in recent years, with the defender being limited to just 10 league appearances over the course of last season and it’s suspected Guardiola, who once labelled Ake as an ‘exceptional’ player could consider offers for the Netherlands star as he looks to harness the potential of younger players such as January addition Abdukodir Khusanov.

What would Nathan Ake bring to Tottenham Hotspur?

Tottenham Hotspur’s injury record was amongst the highest in the division last season and it led to an immense drop off in the league, with the preferred duo of Micky Van de Ven and Christian Romero rarely playing together. The alternatives struggled to find the same cohesion and at times the injury position was so bleak that defensive midfielder Archie Gray was forced to play out of position to help cover for the number of missing players.

The signing of Nathan Ake would instantly give Tottenham improved depth in both the centre-back and left-back area while also adding leadership and a proven track record of winning trophies and thriving at the highest level.

Ake has played in big matches such as the Champions League final as well as key matches in the Premier League and domestic cup competitions. He’s under contract at the Etihad until 2027 and could potentially be sold this summer before his valuation dips in a year's time.
