The Premier League has paused for action after just three games with the first international break of the season underway.

Liverpool lead the early table with three wins from three games with Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur making up the top four. Chelsea remain unbeaten but on seven points while the Gunners and Spurs have two wins each.

Crystal Palace are unbeaten but with one win and two draws from their first three games. Brentford and West Ham United have a win apiece while Fulham are yet to secure a win, with a loss and two draws.

After the international break, Arsenal host Nottingham Forest on their return to action while Crystal Palace and Fulham are also both at home as they welcome Sunderland and Leeds United to London. West Ham and Spurs meet in a London derby while Brentford take on Chelsea in another all-capital clash.

Following the opening three games of the campaign, a supercomputer prediction from Opta has forecast how the final table will look. Any surprises in here?

Tottenham star Cristian Romero was in action on Friday when he helped Argentina come out on top against Venezuela in their World Cup qualifier. Argentina are top of the standings in the South American qualifiers, which work as one giant table.

Lionel Scaloni’s men have won 12 of their 17 games, including the 3-0 win over Venezuela that saw veteran superstar Lionel Messi score twice, while Lautaro Martinez also found the net.

Romero played 90 minutes at centre-back and kept former West Brom star Solomon Rondón quiet, earning praise for his performance. In their player ratings, El Dia reported: “ CRISTIAN ROMERO (7) Firm in his position and neat with the ball, above all with his play out from the back. He was aware to all of the Venezuela attacks and was impassable.”

Elsewhere, Bola VIP reasoned: “ Cristian Romero (6): Although he resorted to rough play on more than one occasion, he was once again the pilar in the last line of Lionel Scaloni’s defence. He was the leader with a heavy weight against Salomon Rondón and he almost never has problems.”

Argentina boss Scaloni said after the win: “The team showed consistency, which is a positive aspect we have. We show character in any situation. The connection with the fans is incredible; I feel the same way they do.

"The players showed that, even when they win, they want more and get frustrated when something doesn't go well. This is also part of growth. The team has clearly evolved in recent years. It's important to give young players a chance, as they bring freshness, which is part of the team's growth.

"The World Cup is still a long way off; our goal is to arrive in the best possible shape. We're happy to be here. I'm not someone who looks back too much; you always have to look forward. After the first goal, the team played more calmly, and overall, I'm satisfied.”

Romero the Tottenham captain

Romero was heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham going into the summer, but Thomas Frank convinced him of his importance at Spurs, and with actions as well as words, making the Argentine his new captain. Frank explained in the summer: "I had a good conversation with Cuti Romero, and he’s going to be our captain.

"He was very honoured and very happy about it. It’s a big thing and should be to lead this wonderful club out on the pitch, not just for this Super Cup, but also throughout the season. I think he has all the right qualities. He leads from his behaviour on the pitch, driving the team forward in every way, and outside the pitch he’s always pushing the team.

"I want a leadership group as well. Of course, one will wear the armband and be the captain, but I would like to have as many leaders as possible, four to five in the leadership group who can help, because it’s the same with me, I can’t do everything on my own and need a superb coaching staff around me. I will name that leadership group after the window to give me time to assess everything."

The early WhoScored Premier League Team of the Season so far is dominated by players from London clubs with nine of the XI stars named playing their football in the capital.

Early leaders Liverpool have no representatives with Sunderland’s Dan Ballard and Everton ace Jack Grealish the only men from outside of London teams who have made the cut.

While Liverpool are top of the early table, Chelsea are just two points behind them after an unbeaten start while Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur sit third and fourth, respectively. All three clubs have at least one player in the statistical XI from WhoScored.

In truth, Spurs and Chelsea dominate with seven of the XI taken up by those two sides while Arsenal have one representative and a West Ham player taking the final spot.

WhoScored Team of the Season so far as London clubs dominate

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario makes the cut in-between the posts while the back four is made up of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber, Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah, Ballard and another Chelsea player in Marc Cucurella.

Mohamed Kudus of Tottenham, Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo and West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta make up the midfielder alongside Grealish. The attack is fronted by Joao Pedro of Chelsea and former Everton forward Richarlison - who is now of Spurs.

Ballard and Pedro both have the highest ratings with 7.9/10 with Grealish and Chalobah sharing a 7.7/10 rating. Pedro and Grealish are the only players from the WhoScored XI to be nominated for Premier League Player of the Month.

West Ham, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea managers reflect on start to the season

Speaking after his side beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 before the international break, Graham Potter said: “The world we’re in, things change quickly but, for us, we didn’t doubt the fight in the team, we didn’t doubt the spirit in the team, we didn’t doubt the quality in the team.

“But when results are like they are, people are looking for things and reasons and you can get very simplistic sometimes. The players deserve the night tonight, they deserve the win, they deserve the performance because of how they’ve acted and I’m really proud of them for that.”

Spurs lost their last outing 1-0 to Bournemouth. New boss Thomas Frank said of the season so far: "I think two good performances and one bad, so I would like to avoid bad performances. I think the lower level was too low today, so that's what we need to raise. I think, again, work ethic and character in the team was good, but I think we lacked some football bits."

Mikel Arteta is remaining positive after Arsenal’s loss to Liverpool, as he reacted after that game: “You can take a lot of positives from the game. I haven’t seen Liverpool often look like that at home like they did against us. We go on again.

“You have to put the ball in the back of the net when you have chances. We were much better than last year when we drew the game — much, much better. Today when we had three, four, five chances in the box, 1v1, we just have to finish.”

Chelsea are still unbeaten after a controversial win over Fulham last weekend.

“I am very happy because we have played three games and have seven points,” said Blues boss Enzo Maresca afterwards.

“Today I wasn’t happy after the first half because we didn’t play on the ball in the way we prepared the game, and we were not good enough at winning second balls and duels.

“Second half, we were completely brilliant. On the ball, we were very good, won most second balls, and we dominated the game. We deserved to win the game. We dominated in the second half and if you’re not strong enough against this team, you will struggle.”

On Thursday 4 September 2025, it was confirmed that long-standing Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy had stood down from his position after a 24-year-association with the football club.

Levy joined Tottenham mid-way through the 2000/01 season when he replaced Alan Sugar as chief decision maker. At the time George Graham was still the club’s manager, but just a month into Levy’s time with the Lillywhites, he dismissed the former Arsenal boss from his position and replaced him with Glen Hoddle.

Since then a total of 17 managers have been hired and fired under Levy, with the club winning two major trophies - the League Cup in 2008 and the Europa League earlier this year. The Lillywhites, who failed to finish in the top six throughout Sugar’s 10-year-stint at the club, regularly qualified for European competitions during Levy’s tenure and even reached the final of the Champions League in 2019. They were also beaten finalists in the League Cup on five separate occasions with the most recent coming in 2021.

Throughout Levy’s time with the club plenty has changed from the training ground to the stadium and a whole generation of footballers and managers have come and gone. But what is the best combined Tottenham XI of Levy’s 24 years with the club? And who was his best managerial appointment?

Goalkeeper and defence

GK: Hugo Lloris: 145-time French international Hugo Lloris is by some distance Tottenham’s best goalkeeper of the Premier League era. The former Lyon man spent 12 years in North London and captained the club for nine of those. He racked up 447 appearances across all competitions, keeping 151 clean sheets and was consistently one of the top shot-stoppers in the division.

RB: Kyle Walker: Kyle Walker is widely considered one of the best right-backs of the Premier League era and it was his time at Tottenham which first made him a household name. The 96-time England international joined the club from Sheffield United in 2009 and eventually became a regular for the club, racking up 229 appearances while making the PFA Team of the Season on two occasions while also being named Young Player of the Season in 2012.

CB: Jan Vertonghen: Tottenham Hotspur beat Arsenal to the signature of Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen in one of the great signings of the Andre Villas Boas era. The versatile defender was a rock throughout his time in North London, making 315 appearances and making the PFA Team of the Season on two occasions.

CB: Toby Alderwield: Toby Alderwield joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2015 and would enjoy an impressive six-year-association with the club. The Belgian formed an excellent partnership with Vertonghen which saw the club hold the record for having the best defensive record in both of their first two seasons together. Alderwield also made the PFA Team of the Season on one occasion during his time with the capital club.

LB: Danny Rose: At the peak of his powers, Danny Rose was considered to be one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and the clear first choice for England at international level. The Doncaster-born defender arrived from Leeds United for just £1m and went on to spend 14 successful seasons with the club, making 214 appearances across all competitions and making the PFA Team of the Season on two occasions.

Midfield and attack

CM: Luka Modric: While he’s perhaps best remembered for what he’s gone on to achieve at Real Madrid, it’s also worth noting just how good the Croatian international was in his early years at Tottenham. He took time to settle initially after being signed by Juande Ramos, but once Harry Redknapp arrived it was clear they had a generational talent on their hands. Modric made 160 appearances in total for Spurs, scoring 17 times and making 24 assists, while helping the team qualify for the Champions League in 2010 - marking their first appearance in the competition since 1962.

CM: Christian Eriksen: Danish international was the best example of Tottenham using the Gareth Bale money to their advantage in the summer of 2013. Eriksen brought flair, creativity and technical quality to the team throughout his seven year stay as the Lillywhites briefly competed for a league title while also reaching the final of the Champions League. The former Ajax ace scored 69 goals and contributed 88 assists in 305 appearances for the club while also making the Team of the Season on one occasion.

CM: Dele Alli: In a direct shoot-out between attack and defence, I’ve opted to pick Dele Alli ahead of the more pragmatic option of Moussa Dembele. The latter deserves his flowers as one of the most underrated defensive midfielders of the Premier League era, but it’s hard to forget just how good Alli was during his early years in a Tottenham shirt. Overall, Alli scored 67 and assisted 59 in 269 appearances for the club, including 18 in a single league season in 2016/17. He won the Young Player of the Year award in successive seasons and also made the Team of the Year twice.

RW: Gareth Bale: It’s hard to believe now, but when Gareth Bale first joined Tottenham from Southampton he was viewed as a bit of a flop at left-back. So much so that it was even once reported they considered offering him in exchange for Stewart Downing back in 2008. Things changed dramatically when Harry Redknapp began to put more faith in the youngster as an attacking full-back and over time he’d soon become one of the most feared right wingers in the country. He’s remembered for a notable hat-trick against Inter Milan and three seasons between 2010 and 2013 where he made it into the Team of the Season three times while also being crowned Player of the Season before his move to Real Madrid. Bale’s won everything in the game at club level since making the move to Madrid and also enjoyed a solid loan stint back in North London under Jose Mourinho in 2020/21.

ST: Harry Kane: Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer with 280 strikes in 435 matches and the second highest scorer of the Premier League era. Harry Kane was Tottenham’s captain and talisman for more than a decade and quite possibly the best player in the club’s history. He made the Team of the Season six times and won the Golden Boot three times. This one needs little explanation.

LW: Heung Min Son: The only player in this team that stayed long enough to win a major trophy. Heung Min Son was signed from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and over the course of a decade established himself as a modern day great. The South Korean international left the club over the summer with an overall record of 173 goals and 101 assists in 454 appearances while winning one Golden Boot and also making the PFA Team of the Season on one occasion.

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

The likes of Harry Redknapp, Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho have all managed Tottenham under Daniel Levy, but there’s no denying that Mauricio Pochettino had the biggest impact on the team during his incredible five-year association with the club.

The Argentine never won silverware in the end, but did lead Tottenham to their highest points tally in a single season (86) in 2016/17, while also going unbeaten at home for the first time in a single season since 1965. He also reached the League Cup final in 2015 and a Champions League final in 2019 and had the team regularly competing for the Premier League title throughout his tenure.

Buy cheap, buy twice. If ever a phrase could be labelled at Daniel Levy during his time at Tottenham Hotspur it’s this one.

After Spurs announced Levy’s departure as chairman thoughts immediately turn to who might replace him and whether or not they will have more success in the transfer market and with taking the club to the next level. Being consistent might keep the directors happy, but this doesn’t put trophies in the club’s cabinet.

His parting gift to Spurs was to sack the man who delivered a major European trophy but made a decision in hiring Thomas Frank that has been universally approved. Gone is the swashbuckling approach of Ange Postecoglou with a more pragmatic style that, of the right signings are made, could pay dividends.

The signing of Xavi Simons is something of a coup as is the late addition of Randal Kolo Muani. Add Mohammed Kudus and Spurs have the sort of forward line that can compete at the top end of the Premier League, even without Heung-min Son and James Maddison.

Levy’s parting gifts might be well received, but in his 20 years controlling the purse strings he hasn’t always got it right, there’s an argument that he’s got more wrong than right. On too many occasions, the ex-chairman would go for the cheaper option rather than the more expensive and lower risk option. Here are five names from the past who didn’t quite live up to expectations.

Tanguy Ndombele

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Tanguy Ndombele has all the talent in the world, sadly though, he doesn’t quite have the application to match and spent most of his time at Spurs out on loan after a £60m move from Lyon. Showed flashes of what he was capable of, but nothing more.

Gregorz Rasiak

A strange signing in the summer of 2005, Poland international Gregorz Rasiak made nine appearances, scoring no goals before being sold in the next transfer window. The less said, the better.

Ryan Nelson

A solid professional who enjoyed a good career in England, however, Ryan Nelson was far from the type of player needed to help Spurs challenge for titles, especially as he approached his mid-thirties. Lasted just six-months before being moved on.

Benjamin Stambouli

A recurring theme during Levy’s tenure is a series of bargain basement signings like Benjamin Stambouli who lasted five minutes at the club before being sold.

Bongani Khumalo

Over 40 caps for South Africa and yet he spent more time out on loan at clubs like Colchester and Doncaster rather than for Spurs. Returned to his homeland on a free and the team where Levy plucked him from.

Tottenham Hotspur finally ended their trophy curse and did what only they could do, ripped everything up to start again.

Of course, the Premier League form from last season was the reason for Ange Postecoglu’s departure, but after winning the Europa League, he could at least leave with his head held high. In Thomas Frank, Spurs now have a more pragmatic coach, and yet a maverick playmaker could be at the heart of a new look team.

Xavi Simons became a club record signing when Spurs hijacked Chelsea’s move for the Netherlands international with the 22-year almost a parting gift from the now ex-chairman Daniel Levy. Having been signed too late to see in action in north London, his name in the Netherlands’ starting XI to face Poland will have had a few more watchful eyes paying attention.

Xavi Simons rated by Dutch media

Unfortunately, despite staying top of their group, Simons wasn’t able to display any of his usual playmaking qualities as seen by these player ratings in his homeland: “Xavi Simons 5.5/10: Didn’t manage to get into the game at all. Struggled in possession and looked lost. Provided no presence on the right,” wrote Football Oranje.

In a similar story, Sports Dunia were also far from impressed: Xavi Simons - 6.5: “A frustrating night for the youngster. He was full of energy and clever movement, but his final product was lacking. We noticed he lost possession 12 times which really broke up his team's rhythm. You can see the talent is there, but it just didn't quite click for him in this match.”

One thing that Simons is used to is the spotlight. As a prodigious talent in Barcelona’s academy, he stood out for all the right reasons, and his trademark hairstyle, before collecting the sort of CV that 99% of his peers would die for at Paris Saint Germain, PSV Eindhoven and RB Leipzig.

Xavi Simons eager to make mark in Premier League

With nearly 30 caps to his name too, Simons is eager to prove that he is ready for the Premier League as told to NOS before the 1-1 draw with Poland: "I think I've proven myself a bit, but it can be much better. I haven't even shown half of what I can do. I'm a professional guy. Even though I wanted to leave (Leipzig), I told the club that if I was still there, I would just do my best and hopefully we would come to a solution. That happened and I now hope to develop in the best league in the world."

"At PSV, for example, I also knew after a conversation with coach Ruud van Nistelrooy: this is where I need to be. I also had that at Leipzig and also at Spurs, where I also met Micky (van de Ven). I knew: I want to be there too. There you have the best players. I also want to be the best. I know what I want to achieve and I am going to do that, I want to make my mark."

Tottenham Hotspur have begun a new era under Thomas Frank and so far the signs have been positive. Defeat at home to Bournemouth aside, Spurs brushed aside Burnley on the opening day before putting in a strong away performance to win 2-0 at Manchester City.

Their signings this summer have also inspired positivity amongst fans. Particularly the likes of Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, who arrived from under the noses of Spurs’ London rivals to prove that this is a side heading firmly in the right direction.

The promise of Champions League football has also undoubtedly been a contributing factor, particularly in the loan signing of Randal Kolo Muani, who swapped the European champions PSG for north London after a spell with Italian giants Juventus last term.

We decided to take a look at how Spurs’ strongest XI could shape up under Frank this season. It no doubt makes great viewing for fans.

Established defensive unit for Spurs - but centre-backs must stay fit

Guglielmo Vicario: Spurs’ established first-choice goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario has made 77 appearances for the club since arriving in 2023. Vicario will hope to have a strong season to force his way into the Italy national set-up in a World Cup year.

Pedro Porro: Another player who has owned his spot in the side for a couple of seasons now, Pedro Porro also signed for the Lilywhites in 2023 and registered four goals and nine assists from right-back last season.

Micky van de Ven: One of Spurs’ most important players, Micky van de Ven not only commands at the back, he drives forward on the break and uses his lightning speed to help on the cover. Having spent large chunks of the last two seasons out injured, Spurs cannot afford for the Dutchman to have an extended lay-off again this term.

Cristian Romero: Alongside Van de Ven, Cristian Romero is the leadership and steel to match the Dutchman’s speed and guile. Both players are near enough irreplaceable in this Spurs side. It will have been a huge relief that Romero resisted the chance to join Atletico Madrid this summer, instead opting to sign a new deal at Spurs. Once again, the club must do all they can to ensure he stays fit.

Djed Spence: Though Destiny Udogie has returned from injury and featured off the bench against Bournemouth, Djed Spence has earnt his starting spot in the Italian’s absence and was recently rewarded with his first England call-up. It looks set to be a big year for Spence as he aims to retain his spot at Spurs to have the best chance of going to the World Cup next summer - though, of course, the same can be said for Udogie.

New signings star for Spurs in attacking areas

Palhinha: In holding midfield, Portuguese destroyer Palhinha has been brought in from Bayern Munich and has already made a difference in his new colours. Could prove to be one of the most underrated signings of the season.

Pape Matar Sarr: Playing alongside Palhinha, Pape Matar Sarr has found himself with more freedom to attack in the early stages of this season. Still only 22 years-old, Sarr could reach a new level under Frank.

Brennan Johnson: Though he will face significant competition from Dejan Kulusevski when he returns from injury, the fact that the Sweden international has been excluded from Spurs’ UCL squad indicates that could be a while away yet. Johnson has already scored twice in the Premier League this season and was the man whose goal brought Europa League final glory in May.

Xavi Simons: Arguably Spurs’ marquee signing of the summer, Simons was poached from under the nose of Chelsea and instantly arrives as the highest-value player in the Spurs squad, according to Transfermarkt. Having pushed for a Premier League move this summer, the 22-year-old former La Masia youth product will hope to rise to the occasion in north London.

Mohammed Kudus: In fact signed for a higher fee than Simons for £55m, Mohammed Kudus swapped east London for N17 to the delight of Spurs fans. Already boasting two assists for his new club, Kudus has started on the right thus far but could form part of a fluid, highly-interchangeable trio behind the striker.

Randal Kolo Muani: Arguably the most contentious positional call Frank will have to make, Spurs have three strong options up front in the shape of Kolo Muani, Dominic Solanke and Richarlison. The latter has started the season strongly but was expected to be a back-up this campaign, while Solanke has yet to start after returning from injury. Therefore, we have given deadline day signing Kolo Muani the nod. Playing across multiple competitions, it is likely that all three players get the opportunity to start through the middle.

Alfie Dorrington has been shockingly left out of Aberdeen’s squad for their Europa Conference League campaign in a tough blow for the Tottenham Hotspur youngster.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at the Scottish top-flight side and returned to Pittodrie in July for a season-long loan at the club. He helped Aberdeen win the Scottish Cup last campaign as they beat Celtic in the final at Hampden Park.

However, manager Jimmy Thelin has opted not to include the player in his 23-man squad for the group phase of the Europa Conference League. The decision comes as a shock, with Dorrington playing in both legs of the club’s Europa League play-off defeat to FCSB.

The defeat saw them drop into the Europa Conference League. Domestically, the defender has started two of the club’s four games in all competitions this campaign.

Alfie Dorrington was eager for European nights with Aberdeen

When he re-joined the club back in July, Dorrington outlined his excitement to play in front of the Aberdeen fans - especially on European nights. He said: “I’m buzzing to be back.

“I had six months here last season, and it was the best six months of my footballing life; winning the cup, playing lots of games, gaining new experiences. As soon as I heard Aberdeen had come back in for me it was a no brainer, I just wanted to meet the team straight away.”

He added: “The fans here are amazing, the atmosphere, the belief they have in us so to get the chance to play in front of them again, especially on European nights will be so good. I can’t wait to get started.”

Spurs themselves will be disappointed that the player will not get the chance to play in Europe, as they have sent him to Aberdeen to aid his development.

Aberdeen manager comments after Alfie Dorrington

When Dorrington returned to the club, manager Jimmy Thelin said the arrival of the Tottenham player was important given his role last season and the fact that Aberdeen will have to battle on several fronts.

His decision to leave the defender out of his squad will likely raise some eyebrows from those in North London who are tracking the youngster’s progress. Thelin said back in July: “We’re pleased Alfie has returned to the club. He played an important part in the squad in the second half of the season and with the campaign ahead we will need strength in depth to be competitive across all competitions.

“Alfie settled well and made a real contribution so it’s always pleasing when a player shows a strong desire to be at the club. He recognised this is a good opportunity for him to be playing his football at a high level and in a good environment where he can continue to develop.

“We look forward to working with him again and we thank our colleagues at Tottenham Hotspur for trusting us with the next part of his career.”

Dorrington signed a new deal with Spurs back in January and has already made his debut for the club, which came when he appeared in a 5-0 Premier League win at Southampton in December 2024.

In other news, Mikey Moore has been included in Rangers’ squad for their Europa League campaign.

They may not have stolen as many headlines as Arsenal or Chelsea, but Tottenham Hotspur have quietly had an impressive first transfer window under new head coach Thomas Frank.

The north Londoners’ summer window may be a reflection of their start to the new season so far - lots of undoubted promise but a couple of early setbacks nevertheless. The hijack by Arsenal of Spurs’ move for Eberechi Eze is a prime example of a setback which can be compared with a home defeat to Bournemouth last time out or a late capitulation in the Super Cup against PSG.

But the signs are positive. The arrival of Xavi Simons, a hijack of Spurs’ own ahead of Chelsea, was a shrewd signing in place of Eze. Mohammed Kudus arrived earlier in the summer and deadline day was completed by a loan move for PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani, who was once signed by the Parisians for £80million but has now completed a second loan move away from the Parc des Princes.

Kolo Muani will be permitted to play when Spurs face PSG in UCL

Spurs face Kolo Muani’s parent club PSG for the second time this season in a huge Champions League tie away from home on November 26. Due to UEFA’s rules surrounding loan players, Kolo Muani will be allowed to play for the Lilywhites.

While Premier League rules dictate that loan players cannot play against their parent clubs, UEFA rules state the opposite - which was confirmed by the Daily Mirror and Football.London’s Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold on X.

Gold said: “For those asking, Randal Kolo Muani would be able to play for Spurs against PSG in the Champions League in November as UEFA rules allow it.”

The 26-year-old France international famously made an impact off the bench for his country playing alongside former team-mate Kylian Mbappe in the 2022 World Cup final. Kolo Muani came inches away from scoring a last-minute winner but for the heroics of Emiliano Martinez, before the then-Eintracht Frankfurt forward confidently put away his penalty in the shoot-out.

Kolo Muani will wear the No.39 shirt at Spurs and will hope to make a similar contribution as that during his loan spell with Juventus last season, where he managed eight Serie A goals in just 16 appearances.

Kolo Muani ‘proud’ to sign for ‘great club’ Spurs

Kolo Muani told the Spurs club website following his deadline day move: "I'm really happy and very proud to be at such a great club. I can’t wait to meet my team-mates, all the fans and to get out on the pitch. I know what the coach expects from me. I will fight hard for the shirt, the club and the fans. I will give everything for this team."

Head coach Frank added: “Randal is a quality player who has proven himself over a number of years, playing for big teams in the Champions League and also with good experience for the France national team.

“He's a good age, in the prime of his career, has good qualities that will suit both us and the Premier League, and gives us a different option in the final third being able to play out wide and through the middle. We are all excited for what Randal can add to the squad, and I'm looking forward to working with him."
