Tottenham are now preparing for a Europa League quarter-final first leg with Eintracht Frankfurt after beating and relegating Southampton in pretty comfortable fashion on Sunday. Ange Postecoglou’s men have just one remaining avenue to Europe, needing to win the Europa League, and the first leg will be key here given how tricky the second will be away from home, in Germany.

In the meantime, there is plenty of talk about Tottenham’s summer transfer plans, and indeed their plans for Postecoglou. Here we round up all the latest transfer news surrounding the North London club.

Cherki interest

Tottenham are said to be interested in a deal for Lyon star Rayan Cherki having previously been linked with the 21-year-old winger. Spurs need more attacking options next season, with Timo Werner set to head back to RB Leipzig, and it’s claimed the Lilywhites like the look for Frenchman Cherki.

TBR Football report that Lyon could cash in on Cherki for £25million or less this summer, and Spurs are said to be one of the clubs expressing an interest. Cherki has nine goals and a whopping 18 assists so far this season. Lyon would surely keep Cherki in an ideal world, but he only has a contract until 2026, and if they cannot get him to agree a new deal, they are better off selling this summer than losing an obvious talent on a free transfer the following summer.

Sané links

Another attacking option Tottenham could look at is Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, who has plenty of experience in the Premier League having won the title twice with Manchester City. Sane is out of contract this summer, and Bayern have held conversations over a new deal, but nothing has been agreed yet.

It’s still being reported that the winger would prefer to stay and that Bayern will make an offer, but until pen is put to paper, clubs away from Germany will be free to hold conversations with his representatives in a bid to turn his head. According to TBR Football, Tottenham and Arsenal are both interested in doing that, although given his preference to remain in Germany, they are going to have to pay big in terms of wages, especially with no transfer fee on the table, something that gives players huge leverage in wage discussions.

Ange ‘knows’ his fate

Former Premier League winger Perry Groves believes Ange Postecoglou already knows his fate amid rumours he will be sacked after the season. “He knows he’s going and the Spurs fans know he’s going and the players know he’s going – simple as that,” Groves told TalkSport.

“I think the worry is this group of Tottenham players who were invested in Ange Postecoglou right at the start because they were playing front-foot, attacking football, but the style has been found out, the manager has been found out. I think he’s not the level of a Premier League manager because when he was with his team in Japan and with Celtic, he had better players than the opposition had, so you can play that way”.

QPR rising star Rayan Kolli is enjoying a breakthrough season at Loftus Road and fresh reports this week suggest that the 20-year-old has attracted suitors from other countries.

The striker is not just part of the QPR set-up but a member of the Algeria under-20 international squad, which has seen his stock rise abroad too. Foot Mercato now suggest that Kolli is ‘sure to become one of the future stars’ for Algeria and that both Ligue 1 clubs and sides in Saudi Arabia are monitoring the player.

AS Monaco and Lille are named as two teams ‘chasing’ the player with Al-Hilal also in the mix and Damac even said to have made a ‘formal offer’. Kolli signed a new, long-term contract with the club in January and, given fitness issues up front this term, the Championship outfit will certainly be keen and confident of keeping the player for now - especially with Marti Cifuentes cultivating a reputation as a head coach who prioritises youth.

Saudi bid should kick Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur into action

However, the transfer talk should put Premier League sides in London on red alert, especially Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace. There’s no doubting Kolli’s ability and, while he may not be ready for the Premier League yet, him taking to the top flight does seem a matter of when and not if.

Kolli both scored and assist in the FA Cup game against Leicester City in January, standing out in a 6-2 defeat against the Premier League opposition. His first goals for QPR came in a 3-0 win over Norwich City in December.

Rating the player a 9/10 for his performance in that match, West London Sport said: “A great day for the young forward, whose first two senior goals helped Rangers get that much-needed first home win of the campaign. He was helped for both by poor goalkeeping from Angus Gunn, but his header and right-footed finish were on target and both goals were rewards for Kolli’s excellent movement and willingness to close down defenders. He made a clever run to head home his first and the second came after he dispossessed Callum Doyle. And aside from the goals, Kolli in general gave Rangers the kind of dynamism up front they’ve been sorely lacking.”

Kolli ‘best young prospect’ at QPR

Kolli’s ability has also been praised by Football League World fan pundit Louis Moir, who labelled the striker the ‘best young prospect’ at Loftus Road. That’s some praise with Kieran Morgan and Alfie Lloyd impressing this term and Emerson Sutton touted for big things.

Moir wrote: “It’s nice to see someone who has been at the club for a very long time, since they were really young, hopefully becoming an actual sellable asset in the future for us, and someone who you can say has come through the youth system.

“He did himself wonders against Norwich, scoring two goals. He’s been fortunate, as with the other strikers being out injured, we had no one else to lead the line. “He’s been thrown in and has done well. If you look at his actual goal involvements for us in the Championship, either starting or coming on, he is doing very well.

“Obviously he has still got a long way to go to be a top player, but for him at the moment, at his age, he is doing everything right. He’s still only 19. If he kicks on and develops like he could, then he could be the next player we sell on for quite a lot of money.

“He’s got that sort of technical ability as an attacking midfielder, wide player and striker. He has got something about him. You’ve just got to unlock that further and hope that he kicks on. He’s doing everything right at the moment, and it’s really exciting to have him at the club.”

Crystal Palace should follow Eberechi Eze success

Really, Kolli would be a coup for any Premier League club given just how high is ceiling is, but should be of particular note to Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur. The Eagles are famous for their ability to sign EFL talent and turn them into top flight regulars, as has been seen with Michael Olise, Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton. Palace of course have had huge success with Eberechi Eze since snapping him up from QPR in 2020.

With Jean-Philippe Mateta linked with an exit, Oliver Glasner and Steve Parish will no doubt be thinking about the long term future of that striker role. Kolli’s diversity could see him fill the attacking midfielder roles, as well as the lead man, in that Glasner system.

Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou had shown a fearlessness to trust youth this season. While that has been somewhat caused by injury problems, it’s the type of attitude that will please fans in north London.

Spurs have a good relationship with QPR, trusting the Championship club to take South Korean ‘historical prospect’ Yang Min-heyok on loan over the back end of the season. Kolli has the dynamism and verstaility that matches the profile of forwards that Spurs like, such as Brennan Johnson, Son Heung-min and Mathys Tel.

In other news, Southampton are 'set' for a huge announcement in wake of Tottenham defeat.

Tottenham have reportedly fallen behind in the battle to sign an in-form striker this summer. Spurs are going to need to invest significantly in their squad this summer if they want to avoid another forgettable season.

Ange Postecoglou is still fighting for his job at this stage, and his best route to saving it will surely be to win the Europa League and secure Champions League qualification in doing so, but the competition is notoriously difficult to win, and Spurs don’t look consistent enough to pull it off, even having booked a place in the quarter-finals.

Whether they can pull it off or not is yet to be determined, but whoever is in charge, Daniel Levy is going to have to back significantly, with Tottenham in need of more depth and quality if they are going to realistically compete for Champions League qualification, which is where they want to be.

The attack is one of the areas that needs more quality, and we could yet see Richarlison move on this summer, with the Brazilian having struggled with injury issues this season, like many. Tottenham have had to rely significantly on Dominic Solanke, and the consensus is that they will need another striker to comete with the Englishman.

One of the players who has been linked recently is Fiorentina’s Moise Kean, who has been in fine form in Serie A. Kean previously struggled with Everton, but he has found his feet in Florence since arriving from Juventus in 2024, scoring 17 goals in 28 league appearances so far. The Italy international is second in the Serie A scoring charts this season, while he also has seven goals in 21 games for his nation.

Tottenham fall behind in Kean race

According to Calciomercato, Fiorentina may be willing to cash in on their star striker this summer, poised to evaluate any and all offers to see whether a deal would suit them. But it’s also reported that the Italian side are looking to agree a new deal with Kean that would remove or increase his current release clause, which stands at around £44.3million.

In the meantime, it’s claimed Newcastle United have made ‘direct contact’ with Kean as they weigh up replacing number two striker Callum Wilson, who is out of contract this summer. The Magpies have also seen starting striker Alexander Isak linked with a move away, but they won’t be planning to sell him unless he pushes for an exit.

It remains to be seen how much Fiorentina will ask for to sell Kean, but Tottenham won’t need reminding that even at the full release clause, he is one of the few in-form strikers who is valued at below £50million, and given their needs across the squad, they should be moving quickly when it comes to relatively affordable strikers.

Then again, it doesn’t mean Kean is their ideal target, and they are likely to have other irons in the fire, and others that they may be prioritising ahead of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou heaped praise on Brennan Johnson after he scored twice and won a penalty in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

Johnson scored twice in the first half to put the game beyond Southampton before winning a penalty in second-half stoppage time, which was scored by Mathys Tel. The visitors had pulled a goal back in the 90th minute but were unable to find an equaliser as they were relegated from the Premier League in record-breaking fashion.

The result moves Spurs up to 14th as they leapfrogged West Ham United and Everton, who drew with Bournemouth and Arsenal, respectively on Saturday. Up next for Spurs is a key clash in the Europa League as they host Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their quarter final on Thursday.

Ange hails Brennan Johnson

Asked about Johnson after the game, Postecoglou said: “It’s tough but I think whenever Brennan plays, he’s always a goal threat. He has been really good for us in terms of goals and, even though I don’t rate them highly, even his assists have been important to us as today he won the penalty. He’s really important for us in the way we play and I don’t think he has been inconsistent this year.

“The disruptions we’ve had in the team and the ability to get some real cohesion in the group has disrupted everyone this season. It was great for him today, I was really pleased for him, not just the goals but his general play was really good. He’s important for us as a wide player – there aren’t many around that are a constant goal threat like he is. I’m really pleased for him today.”

He added: “With Brennan, he’s always in the areas we need him to be. He’s probably one of the most disciplined players we have in terms of making sure he’s always in the right positions and that’s why he gets his goals. There have been times this season when his form has suffered because of the team more than anything else.

“I think if we play like we played in the first half, Brennan becomes a really important player for us as we’re a constant threat, breaking lines, making half-space runs, we were getting balls into the box in the areas we need to and every time we went forward we looked like scoring. If we do that then I think it’s not a matter of confidence for Brennan, it just gives you more opportunities as the one thing about him is that he will always be in those positions so it’s up to us to match his discipline in that.”

Brennan Johnson’s Premier League stats this season

The 23-year-old has started in 21 of Spurs 31 Premier League games this term, while coming off the bench in another seven. He has scored 11 goals and provided two assists. Sunday’s double was the second time he has scored twice in a single fixture, after he netted a brace in the 2-1 win over Ipswich Town at the end of February.

Sunday’s goals were his first since the win over Ipswich. He had a strong run of form in late September into October as he scored three games in a row in wins over Manchester United and Brentford and in a loss to Brighton and Hove Albion. Johnson then went just two games without a goal before scoring in three of his next four matches.

The Premier League season is now approaching its final stages, which means club chiefs up and down the top tier will be finalising their recruitment plans for the summer.

Just like every summer, there are a whole host of players who will run of contract at their current clubs, opening the door to potential free transfers. Here we take a look at some of the possible free transfers Crystal Palace, Fulham and Tottenham could consider this summer.

Ola Aina

Aina is out of contract this summer, and he will be one of the most attractive options available given he has made 30 league appearances for Forest this season, helping them get to the verge of securing Champions League qualification.

Given his involvement, it seems likely Forest will pursue a new deal, but clubs will be keeping an eye as the summer approaches.

Kyle Walker-Peters

Walker-Peters is not likely to sign a new deal at Southampton whether he is offered one or not. The full-back is a Premier League player, and while he stayed with Southampton following their relegation last time around, he is not likely to make the same sacrifice this summer.

The 27-year-old has a wealth of Premier League experience and will be seen as a very good option by the majority of Premier League teams outside of the biggest few.

Thomas Partey

Partey has been a utility man again for Arsenal this season, playing at the back and in midfield. The Ghana international got a one-year extension last summer, but he could be set to depart this summer, with no news of another contract offer.

At 31 years of age, Partey could go to the US or elsewhere to get a pay day, but he is still very competent at Premier League level, and he is worth enquiring about.

Tariq Lamptey

Lamptey is out of contract this summer, and there hasn’t been talk of a new deal since around December time. The 24-year-old has struggled with injury this season, making only 13 Premier League appearances.

Given his injury troubles, Lamptey might be seen as a risk, albeit a low one should he become available for free. Though, he is a talent and he has shown what he is capable of in flashes at Premier League level.

Callum Wilson

This one comes with the caveat that Newcastle have the option to extend Wilson’s deal by another year, but with Alexander Isak the clear starter and Eddie Howe potentially bringing in another striker, Wilson could still wind up leaving. There will be competition for his signature within the Premier League if he does.

Victor Lindelof

Lindelof had his United deal extended by a year last summer, but he is on course to leave this summer, with no contract offer in sight. The 30-year-old has had to settle for just eight Premier League appearances this season, but he is still a competent defender.

A move abroad seems more likely for Lindelof, but he should have some Premier League options if he becomes available on a free transfer.

Nelson Semedo

Semedo said this week: “It’s really good to have the confidence from the coach. I already spoke to him about my situation, and we’ll see what the future holds. I’ve been talking with the club.” The 31-year-old has made 30 appearances across all competitions this season, and he has top-level experience having played for Wolves, Barcelona and Benfica.

Jorginho

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho looks set to become available, unlikely to get another deal this summer. He is now 33 years of age, and there has been plenty of talks of a move to Brazil, along with murmurings of him preferring a Europe stay. There could be an opportunity to land the experienced holding midfielder on a free deal.

Tottenham Hotspur could reignite interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani with the sacking of Thiago Motta by Juventus set to play a role in the transfer race.

Spurs and Aston Villa had been linked with the star in January, but the 26-year-old ended up heading on loan to the Italian side from PSG. Since then, Muani has bagged five goals and picked up two assists in 11 appearances as he makes a strong start to life in the Serie A.

However, there has been controversy in Turin with Motta sacked by the club in March. The 42-year-old lasted just nine months at Juventus with back to back thrashings at the hands of Fiorentina and Atalanta the final blow for the manager, who was immediately replaced by Croatian Igor Tudor.

Juventus sacking could ignite Premier League transfer race

All of Muani’s goals for Juventus came in his first three appearances, one against Napoli and two braces against FC Empoli and Como. The striker has not scored since Motta left the club.

Speaking about Muani in February, Motta said: “Kolo Muani is doing well and scoring goals. He can do better. He’s just arrived and needs to keep his feet on the ground. Goals are part of the game. I like seeing him like this, with a smile. He’s integrated very well and is helping like everyone else.”

GiveMeSport reports that Motta’s departure could jeopardise any plans to keep Muani at the club permanently following his loan spell. The outlet adds that Tottenham Hotspur are aware of that situation and monitoring a potential swoop for the star.

Juventus paid a fee of just under £5 million for that short term loan deal but have no option or obligation to turn that temporary switch into a permanent transfer. The report claims that regardless of whether or not Postecoglou remains in his position at the north London club, interest in Muani will remain.

Tottenham Hotspur to make Mathys Tel decision

The Frenchman finished as a World Cup runner up in 2022 and won the Ligue 1 with PSG last season. He’s played 23 times in the Champions League and was signed by PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt for £77 million in 2023.

A move for Muani could depend on the decision the club makes over loanee Mathys Tel, who is spending the back end of the season at Spurs from Bayern Munich. Postecoglou had been adamant that he hoped to make that move permanent but the striker has just one goal in eight appearances for Tottenham Hotspur so far.

As Tel arrived at Tottenham Hotspur, Postecoglou said: "He will play a significant part in our end to the season for sure and beyond. He wants to make an impact and I expect him to do that. He will be a Tottenham player. I think he will show everyone he will be a Tottenham player in the next six months. I didn't bring him here for six months."

In other news, this is how Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea fare in a new Premier League table without VAR after a dramatic night under the lights at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.

Ange Postecoglou will be hoping for a quick turnaround this weekend after seeing his Tottenham side lose 1-0 to Chelsea despite having the ball in the net at one point on Thursday.

Pape Matar Sarr scored an equaliser for Spurs in the second half, but it was ruled out by VAR. It left Tottenham 14th in the Premier League table, with Postecoglou under considerable pressure.

They face a Southampton team who could be without up to three players according to the most recent injury updates. Whereas Tottenham’s injury news also has them potentially missing four players.

Tottenham’s current injury list

Spurs are expected to be without four players for the game against the Saints on Sunday. The first is Radu Dragusin, who has already been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his ACL.

The other three are looking at returns at some point in April. Dejan Kulusevski is set to miss the Southampton game, and Spurs’ Europa League tie against Eintract Frankfurt which comes next week - he is dealing with an ankle injury.

Defender Kevin Danso is also on a similar timeline with a hamstring injury. He is looking to come back later on in the month.

Finally, Richarlison is closest to a return from his injury. The striker has been recovering from a calf issue and is currently being assessed regarding his match fitness. He is unlikely for Sunday but could be available for the Europa League next week.

What has Ange Postecoglou said?

The Tottenham boss spoke on Danso and Kulusevski this week, as he hinted that they are doing well in recovery. He said on Wednesday: “Kevin and Deki are working hard still. They’re probably a couple of weeks away, but both are progressing well.”

He also spoke about Richarlison, saying that he is back in training, but he didn’t suggest whether or not he will be ready for the game against Southampton this weekend. Postecoglou said: “Richy is training with the group. Again, it's about when we reintroduce him to the matchday squad, but he's training with the main training group, which is positive.”

Impact on team selection and tactics

The four Tottenham players who are expected to miss the game against the Saints on Sunday have been out for some time, so Postecoglou will likely keep a similar formation to that of their last few games.

This was Spurs’ starting XI in their last game: Vicario, Udogie, Van de Ven, Romero, Spence, Maddison, Bentancur, Bergvall, Son, Odobert, Solanke

Southampton injury concerns

The Saints could be without three players. Will Smallbone looks set to miss the game with a groin injury. Manager Ivan Juric said: “Will is out, and the others are all fit. Hopefully, he will be better next week or at the end of this week.”

He has been ruled out of the Tottenham game. Ross Stewart and Juan Larios are doubts and are both currently being assessed due to having concerns regarding match fitness.

Tottenham could have a big decision to make over star defender Cristian Romero this summer.

Tottenham could face a tricky situation this summer amid talk of a possible departure for star defender Cristian Romero. The centre-back has struggled with injury this season, but he is still attracting interest aplenty, with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid reportedly among those considering a deal.

The 26-year-old is under contract until 2027, but if he pushes for a move, Spurs may feel they are better off selling, especially given his struggles for fitness.

On the flip side, Romero is undoubtedly one of Tottenham’s best defenders, and perhaps one of their best players, so he wouldn’t necessarily be easy to replace. Still, according to National World’s James Trembath, it’s a deal Spurs may well consider due to Romero’s struggles for fitness and form at times, but it’s also pointed out that Daniel Levy play the role of tough negotiator again should clubs come calling for the Argentine.

Trembath said on the latest Spurs podcast: “He's a real key player. Yes, he's missed a number of games through injury, not once but twice in terms of seasons at Spurs. But he's a real leader. He's a top player. And you have to admit, they've probably missed him at the best of times this season. It's a bit of the curious case of Cristian Romero, I think, sometimes. World Cup winner, Copa America winner, always seems to be available for Argentina. A lot of Spurs fans are a little bit sceptical about that.

“He tends to be available for Argentina, but he's rarely able to turn out for Spurs. I mean, I think this season that's maybe just by luck rather than design. But have we ever really seen the best of Romero in a Spurs shirt? It's quite interesting. I think in flashes, you know, absolutely no doubt he's a quality player. And when he's on it, he's an asset to Spurs. There have been, you know, purple patches where he's been very, very consistent alongside van de Ven. Previous to that as well, you know, he's had some really, really good spells in a Spurs shirt.

“But has he ever really hit the heights? I'm not so sure. I'm not so sure. I think the jury is out a little bit and he seems to lose concentration at key moments. At the start of the season, he cost us quite a few goals, albeit, as I say, he'd had a very short pre-season again. And a lot of talk this week about, you know, he wants to go.”

Speaking to the transfer links specifically, Trembath added: “Atletico Madrid are linked with him, Aston Villa are linked with him. All the signs are that he's got two years left on his deal and he'll be walking away this summer.

“But I think a lot of the echo chamber that goes around on social media are not factoring in Daniel Levy into this. And we've seen the problems of the likes of Harry Kane trying to get out of Spurs, Christian Eriksen before that. Daniel Levy will not deal with Aston Villa when he's got two years left on his deal in the summer, unless the fee is astronomical.

“Similarly, Atletico Madrid. So I think Romero would really have to agitate for a move to get it. And also, who knows if the next manager, you know, ends up being somebody like Mauricio Pochettino. There's a lot of mutual respect there. He's obviously a fellow Argentine. So I don't think it's done and dusted. But you would say the power is slowly shifting to Romero in terms of the keys he holds to his future with two years left.

“But as I said, Daniel Levy will have the final say on that and no player leaves Spurs. That is the one thing he is very good at, in all fairness. If you don't want to let a player go, you won't leave him, frankly, until it's on his terms. So interesting summer ahead. But, you know, as we've spoken about before, with or without Romero, you know, we need another centre-back coming in.

“We've obviously got van de Ven, who's got so much talent. But is he going to be sort of the next Ledley King? Where he's a fantastic player, but we just really get him out on the pitch and see the best of him. Obviously, Dragusin's got his long-term cruciate injury in his knee, which, you know, who knows when he's going to come back or whether he'll even be the same player.

“And Kevin Danso has been pretty solid. I think it's been a very shrewd signing from Spurs, actually. But we're definitely short at centre-back, you know, whether Romero stays or he doesn't stay. So interesting to see how that one develops. But, you know, the other thing is, let's see how he plays in the next few games for Spurs.

“Let's see him be available now to the end of the season and really put his heart and soul on the line. If he does want his move, put everything out there and go out with a bang for Spurs and really show us what he can do. Because, as I say, the jury's out for me a little bit on the way he plays. And just on the Spurs summer, obviously, you mentioned a few positions there.”

Tottenham could offload one of their big-earning stars this summer as they consider making significant changes to their squad. It has been a dire campaign for Spurs, who are stuck in the bottom half and unlikely to qualify for Europe next season, needing to win the Europa League to achieve that feat.

Ange Postecoglou is walking the line heading into the final stages of the season, fighting to keep his job after failing to fix the issues presented this season, albeit he has been very unlucky with injuries along the way.

Tottenham have a big decision to make about their manager this summer, and whether Postecoglou stays or not, there are some big decisions to be made over the playing staff. Significant recruitment is required, with more depth needed across the squad, while more high quality players will also be needed if Spurs are to properly compete for European qualification.

But incomings never come without outgoings, and we are likely to see a handful of departures from Tottenham this summer. Timo Werner will be the first to go, with the German very likely to be sent back to parent club RB Leipzig after a disappointing season, and that’s despite the fact the North London side have an option to make the deal permanent at a pre-agreed fee.

Others will likely follow, and there is plenty of speculation around Cristian Romero amid links with Real Madrid, while forward Richarlison is also being tipped to move on. As far as the Brazilian is concerned, Tottenham may feel as though the time is right to pull the plug, with the forward having struggled for fitness this season, making only 14 appearances across all competitions.

According to Goal in Brazil, Richarlison is likely to move on this summer, and Spurs are said to be ‘willing to listen’ to offers. It’s claimed his home country clubs Palmeiras, Fluminense and Flamengo are all expressing an interest with that in mind, though Richarlison is said to prefer to remain in Europa at this stage in his career, still only 27 years of age.

Tottenham paid £50million for Richarlison, and they have him under contract until 2027, but with his value dropping, this may be the right time to sell if they don’t think the Brazilian is going to make a significant impact next season.

Postecoglou on Richarlison’s form

Postecoglou has all-but admitted that Richarlison has struggled with confidence when he has been fit this season. The Spurs boss said recently: "He’s got so much to give and that can help ease the burden he’s feeling in other parts of his life, like so many of us.

"I’m really pleased for him – I thought he did really well. We were obviously chasing a goal and getting some balls in the box and he’s always a threat in the air."

The Brazilian is still struggling with injury, but he could be set to return in the next couple of weeks. Postecoglou added this week: “Richy’s training with the group, again, it's about when we reintroduce him to the matchday squad, but he's training with the main training group, which is positive.”

Tottenham are back in action on Thursday night when they face London rivals Chelsea with a chance to pick up a rare statement win. Spurs have disappointed this season, stuck in the bottom half and with no real shot at landing a European spot via the Premier League.

The Europa League remains an avenue to Europe, but Tottenham need to step up their game and establish some momentum. Chelsea would be a good place to start, and as final touches are placed on the preparations for that one, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Spurs.

New contract agreed

Tottenham’s talented young midfielder Callum Olusesi has reportedly decided to reject Bayern Munich to sign a new contract with the North London club. According to Football Insider, the 18-year-old has penned a new big-money deal - or at least relatively speaking - to remain with Spurs, penning a three-year extension.

Bayern, Ajax, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are all said to have expressed an interest before Olusesi decided to agree to a new deal. The youngster is now tied down, and he will be focusing on attempting to break into first team plans.

Eze price tag

Spurs have long been linked with a move for Crystal Palace and England star Eberechi Eze, but it will not be a cheap deal to pull off. According to Fichajes, Tottenham will have to pay £60million to get a deal done this summer, with the Eagles not likely to strike a player friendly deal.

Palace face a real possibility of losing Marc Guehi this summer due to the defender being in the final year of his contract, while Jean-Philippe Mateta has also been linked with an exit. The Eagles won’t want to lose more than one or two players as they look to build on this season’s improvements, and Eze is likely to be an expensive deal as a result for any club interested.

Cristian Romero exit claim

Romero has been linked with a move away from Tottenham ahead of the summer, with Real Madrid and others having been linked with a move. According to The Boot Room, Romero has made it clear to Spurs that he wants to leave the club, viewing a more ambitious future that Spurs currently look as though they can offer.

It’s claimed Tottenham have stopped contract talks as a result, with a sale potentially on the table this summer. It’s claimed Romero has told his representatives that a move to Spain is his preferred choice.

Postecoglou on Bergvall and more

Spurs boss Postecoglou has provided an update on Lucas Bergvall’s recovery from illness, while also speaking about the good condition in which most players returned from the international break.

He said: “Lucas is fine. He had a bit of an illness, picked up a bug, but he got back at the weekend and got straight back into training." He added: “It was a good international break for us. Firstly, obviously no-one picked up anything, which is important, but also some guys got some game time which we felt was going to be important, guys like (Cristian) Romero, Destiny (Udogie), Matty Tel, Wilson (Odobert) and all these guys who missed a lot of football recently all got some good game time. The ones who played all did relatively well, they're all back and we’ve had a strong training group in the last couple of days.”
