Whilst Eddie Howe prepared his Newcastle United side for their final match of their tour to Asia, all of the pre-match headlines and coverage was dominated by one of their opponents as Son Heung-Min played his final match for Spurs in his home country. The Magpies, meanwhile, were debuting their new green away kit.

Howe made eight changes to the starting XI for their clash with Spurs, with just Lewis Miley, Anthony Gordon and Nick Pope retaining their places. Just four minutes into the match, the latter was forced to pick the ball out of his net as Brennan Johnson fired his team ahead from the edge of the box, via a big deflection off Dan Burn.

The Magpies were able to recover from that early setback and enjoyed most of the possession in the opening stages. Gordon in particular looked dangerous and set up Newcastle’s first chance of the half with a smart dribble and cut back to Joelinton, but the Brazilian failed to turn the ball home.

The former Everton man then went close himself, latching onto a pass from Murphy but his effort was deflected harmlessly past Antonin Kinsky’s goal. Spurs then went up the other end and should have doubled their lead when Mathys Tel surged past Matt Targett to go one-on-one against Pope, however, the Magpies man stood firm to deny Tel a golden opportunity.

Joelinton was next to go close for Newcastle United, but his header failed to test Kinsky. Howe’s side did restore parity before the break when Harvey Barnes slammed home after a swift counter-attack.

After a really entertaining first-half, a number of interruptions meant that the second period struggled to ignite. The first real bit of quality came when Gordon thought he had put his side ahead, only to be denied by the offside flag.

The pace of the game slowed further in the sweltering heat of Seoul and stopped altogether for a brief moment in the second half as Son received a guard of honour from both teams when he was substituted off by Thomas Frank. Lewis Hall then marked his first return to the pitch since February when he replaced Kieran Trippier with 15 minutes of the game to go.

Newcastle United player ratings v Tottenham Hotspur

Nick Pope - 6

Very shaky with his feet early on but did fantastically well to deny Mathys Tel when he broke through 1v1. Didn’t have much to do in the second half. Subbed off late on.

Kieran Trippier - 6

Played spoilsport for the home crowd as he was tasked with keeping Son quiet. Did very well against the South Korean international but was booked for fouling him in the 31st minute. Replaced by Lewis Hall with 15 minutes to go.

Fabian Schar - 6

Confident on the ball as usual but saw some speculative passes miss their range early doors. Saw a powerful long range shot fly over the bar. Subbed off late on.

Dan Burn - 7

Unfortunate to see Johnson’s strike take a wicked deflection off him, but made a wonderful recovery challenge to deny the Welshman a second goal just six minutes after netting his first.

Matt Targett - 4

Very weak against Tel and had his goalkeeper to thank for saving his blushes. An underwhelming afternoon before being replaced by Livramento just after the hour.

Bruno Guimaraes - 8

Always wanted the ball and was happy to receive it in some tough moments. Calm and composed performance from the captain. A real leader of the team and put in a very good full match shift.

Lewis Miley - 5

Tidy on the ball but did get dominated physically at times. Fairly anonymous as the game progressed.

Joelinton - 5

Should have scored in the 15th minute but couldn’t get a good enough contact on Gordon’s pull back. Sloppy in attack at times with some heavy touches slowing down threatening looking attacking moves. Should have done better with a free header in the 23rd minute. Physical but careless with the ball at times.

Jacob Murphy - 6

Had a poor start to the game and was robbed in possession ahead of Spurs’ opener. Suffered a knock but improved as the first half went on and put in a number of dangerous deliveries throughout. Taken off with 15 minutes to go.

Anthony Gordon - 8

Led the line in the absence of Isak. Did brilliantly with the ball at his feet and could have had an assist had Joelinton been able to turn his cut back home. Was an absolute menace for the Spurs defenders to deal with all day. Replaced by Osula in the 62nd minute.

Harvey Barnes - 7

Got in some threatening positions early and was clinical in his finish to slam his side level. Had a quieter start to the second half and couldn’t influence the game as much. Subbed off late on.

SUB: Will Osula - 6

Replaced Gordon in the 62nd minute. Pressed well but had very little attacking threat.

SUB: Tino Livramento - 6

Replaced Targett in the 62nd minute. Played an inverted role on the left before shifting to the right. Solid.

SUB: Lewis Hall - 7

Replaced Trippier with 15 minutes to go. Enjoyed some nice touches on his long-awaited return to action.

SUB: Park Seung-Soo - 7

Replaced Murphy with 15 minutes to go. Looked lively.

Replaced Schar in the 82nd minute.

Replaced Barnes in the 82nd minute.

Replaced Pope in the 82nd minute.

Replaced Joelinton with four minutes of normal time to play.

Aaron Ramsdale’s move to Newcastle United was confirmed on Saturday. The Saints man will join on an initial season long loan deal, with Newcastle having an option to buy him at the end of the season.

Ramsdale previously worked under Eddie Howe at Bournemouth, spending one season at the Vitality Stadium together. Howe even handed Ramsdale his senior debut and has long been an admirer of him.

Speaking to the club following the announcement that he had joined Newcastle United, Ramsdale said: "It's great to be here. I've always loved coming here and I've seen how passionate and loud the fans can be. I've always loved playing here at St. James' Park - I've not always had the greatest of results, but when the fans get behind you it's some place.

"Coming to the stadium and seeing it empty today, it's quite surreal to think that this is going to be home for the foreseeable future. I've got the kit on, it’s got the nice Champions League badge on the sleeve and I'm delighted to be here.

"Working with the manager and his coaching staff again were a big draw for me. They've already had a great influence on my career and the gaffer turned me from a man into a professional footballer at Bournemouth. He really showed me the ropes so the manager and his coaching staff were a huge selling point for me to come here."

Head coach Eddie Howe added: "Aaron is an exceptional goalkeeper who adds further quality and international experience to our squad.

"Having worked with him before, I know what he can bring to us on and off the pitch, so we look forward to welcoming him into the group."

Aaron Ramsdale’s Newcastle United debut

Newcastle United fans may have to wait to see Ramsdale in action for his new club, however. The 27-year-old won’t join his new teammates out in South Korea with a whole host of issues, including time difference and jet lag, preventing Ramsdale from flying out to Asia.

Newcastle United will finish their tour of Singapore and South Korea today with a clash against Thomas Frank’s Tottenham Hotspur in Seoul. The Magpies have lost three successive matches in pre-season and will be desperate to end that streak against their north London counterparts.

Nick Pope has started all three of their matches so far in pre-season, playing around three-quarters of their defeat against Team K-League on Wednesday before being replaced by academy graduate Max Thompson who made his senior debut for the club. It’s likely that Ramsdale will make his first appearance for Newcastle United at St James’ Park next weekend.

Newcastle United face a double-header against Spanish opposition on the final weekend of pre-season, with a clash against Espanyol kicking off on Friday night (7:30pm kick-off). Howe’s side will then look to defend the Sela Cup against Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid a day later. That match kicks off at 4pm on Saturday following Newcastle United Women’s clash against Atletico Madrid Femenino.

Eddie Howe’s side play the third and final match of their tour to Asia today when they face Tottenham Hotspur in Seoul. The Magpies have lost three successive pre-season matches and will be desperate to end that run against Thomas Frank’s side.

Constant noise surrounding transfers, or lack thereof, have dominated in recent times with Alexander Isak’s future still up in the air. After a decent performance against Arsenal in Singapore last weekend, Newcastle followed that up with an uninspiring clash against Team K-League in midweek.

Spurs provide another tough test of their credentials and the Magpies know they will be up against it in a stadium that will be largely dominated by Spurs and Son Heung-Min fans. Here, we take a look at everything supporters need to know about Newcastle United’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the Seoul World Cup Stadium:

When is Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur?

Today’s game kicks-off at 12pm (BST) at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

How to watch Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur

Supporters can stream Newcastle United’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur online through NUFC TV. Newcastle United offered supporters the chance to purchase a streaming package which includes all of their matches in pre-season.

Mags/Junior Mags members, meanwhile, could buy the Official Streaming Pass for £19.99 whilst non-members got all matches for £29.99.

Individual match streams for this game are available to purchase via NUFC TV as well. Those can be bought online.

Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur injury and team news

Newcastle United will be without Isak in South Korea. Isak did not travel to Asia with the squad amid intense speculation surrounding his future at the club and has been training at his former club Real Sociedad this week.

Sven Botman, meanwhile, is a major doubt to feature today after he picked up an injury during last weekend’s defeat to Arsenal. On the defender, Howe said on Tuesday: “We didn’t think it was a serious injury at the time and we've had that confirmed with a scan.”

“He won’t play tomorrow (v K League XI). He could play against Tottenham on Sunday, but possibly not. We hope he’ll be available for the double header at St James’ Park.”

There are also doubts surrounding the participation of Lewis Hall. Hall has been included in the travelling squad but was an unused substitute on Wednesday night in Suwon.

Odysseas Vlachodimos and Anthony Munda are yet to feature in Asia under Howe, whilst Alfie Harrison, Park Seung-Soo and Travis Hernes were all used sparingly by Howe against Team K-League.

Joe Willock is also out after being injured in the dying stages of that game. Willock left the pitch in some discomfort, although Howe has played down fears that he had suffered a serious injury.

Eddie Howe has one final chance to take a look at his squad in Asia when his side face Tottenham Hotspur in Seoul on Sunday. The Magpies have lost their previous two matches against Arsenal and Team K-League and will be desperate to end their trip on a high.

With their clash against Spurs coming just four days after Wednesday’s defeat against Team K-League, Howe may look to rotate that starting XI. However, depleted numbers in certain areas of the pitch, including in midfield and up-front, could give some of those that featured on Wednesday another opportunity to impress.

Spurs, meanwhile, defeated local rivals Arsenal on Thursday and have secured a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha, although the midfielder won’t fly out to represent his new club against Newcastle United on Sunday. Alexander Isak will also not feature for Newcastle United after he was left out of their squad for the trip to Asia amid intense speculation over his future at the club.

Here, we take a look at the Newcastle United starting XI that Howe could name for his side’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur:

Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur predicted XI

Nick Pope

Pope started against Team K-League and may be asked to go again on Sunday. Aaron Ramsdale’s arrival will add competition for him this season.

Kieran Trippier

Trippier was an unused substitute on Wednesday, but will likely start against his former club. With Lewis Hall still recovering from injury and Tino Livramento deputising at left-back in his absence, there is a possibility that Trippier begins the season as Howe’s first-choice right-back.

Fabian Schar

Schar will be keen to build fitness ahead of the beginning of a new season where, as it stands, he will start in the heart of Newcastle United’s defence.

The Gazette has launched a new WhatsApp NUFC channel to bring the latest news, analysis and team & injury updates directly to your phone. Simply click this link to join our NUFC WhatsApp channel.

Dan Burn

Burn’s form and fitness this season will be key, particularly if Sven Botman’s injury issues persist.

Matt Targett

Targett has been given a golden opportunity to impress during pre-season - one that he is yet to fully grasp.

Bruno Guimaraes

Guimaraes has enjoyed a solid start to pre-season with his leadership and guile in the middle of the park was missed greatly on Wednesday.

Lewis Miley

A potential knock for Sandro Tonali could give Miley a chance to start again. The teenager will be keen to show off his talents during pre-season and give Howe a headache when the season starts.

Joelinton

Newcastle United have greatly missed Joelinton’s physicality so far this pre-season. He loves games against Spurs in the Premier League.

Jacob Murphy

Murphy knows he has to impress Howe with Anthony Elanga breathing down his neck for a starting spot. He scored a stunner against Arsenal last weekend.

Will Osula

Osula’s rawness has shown that he is not yet ready to lead the line in Isak’s absence. Without an obvious alternative, though, he may be asked to do that again on Sunday.

Much like Murphy on the opposite flank, Barnes knows he has a battle on his hands to force himself into Howe’s first-team plans when the season gets underway.

Newcastle United’s third and final game of their trip to Asia sees them take on Thomas Frank’s Tottenham Hotspur in South Korea. The match will be played at the Seoul World Cup Stadium as Eddie Howe’s side look to avoid a fourth-successive pre-season defeat.

Their trip to Asia has been clouded by speculation surrounding Alexander Isak’s future at the club. Whilst results and performances on the pitch have done little to lift the spirits of supporters.

Sunday’s game offers them a final chance to end their tour on a high note and build momentum ahead of back-to-back matches against La Liga opposition at St James’ Park in a little over a week’s time. However, Spurs will be buoyed by their 1-0 win over local rivals Arsenal, a win secured by Pape Matar Sarr’s wonderstrike over David Raya from the halfway line.

Frank’s side will also be backed by a feverish crowd in Seoul on Sunday, with many in attendance flocking to see local hero Son Heung-min in action. Son could even play his last game of football for Spurs against Newcastle United on Sunday should a proposed move to LAFC progress.

All of this stacks the odds against Howe’s side - and recent transfer developments from north London could further buoy Sunday’s opponents.

Tottenham Hotspur ‘in talks’ for Bayern Munich star

Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha is reportedly ‘in talks’ with Spurs over a potential loan move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season. The Athletic report that Spurs are interested in a move for the former Fulham man amid uncertainty over their current midfield options.

The Gazette has launched a new WhatsApp NUFC channel to bring the latest news, analysis and team & injury updates directly to your phone. Simply click this link to join our NUFC WhatsApp channel.

Both Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur have entered the final twelve months of their contracts at the club and Palhinha, although a stop-gap initially, could help bolster their numbers in midfield. Following a hugely impressive season with the Cottagers, Palhinha joined Bayern Munich last summer - but struggled for regular game time at the Allianz Arena under Vincent Kompany.

Spurs recently failed in a move to sign Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White in a deal which, despite not being an exact like-for-like midfield replacement, would have added great quality and depth to Frank’s attacking options. Palhinha is more defensively minded than the Forest man with his signing likely to give more freedom to Spurs’ forward thinking and creative players.A move for Palhinha is not expected to be completed before Sunday, however, with Frank likely to have the same squad at his disposal this weekend as he had ahead of their clash with Arsenal. Howes, meanwhile, is also expected to have the same options available to him as he did on Wednesday in Suwon - minus Joe Willock.

Willock was injured in the final stages of their defeat to Team K-League and whilst initial fears that the former Arsenal man had suffered a serious injury, those were downplayed by Howe at the end of that match. Sven Botman, meanwhile, who missed Wednesday’s outing at the Suwon World Cup Stadium is a big doubt to feature on Sunday after being injured against Arsenal.

Newcastle United have arrived in South Korea as preparations for a new season continue. A brief trip to Singapore last week ended in defeat when they were beaten 3-2 by Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on Sunday.

Goals from Anthony Elanga and Jacob Murphy were not enough to overcome the Gunners, with former Magpie Mikel Merino scoring against his old club with Martin Odegaard’s late penalty earning Arsenal the victory. Although that was their second defeat of pre-season, there were a lot of positives to take from the game as Newcastle United put in a much better performance than they had eight days prior against Celtic.

However, the Magpies did leave Singapore with a major worry. The fitness of Sven Botman.

Eddie Howe issues Sven Botman injury update

After starting against Celtic in Glasgow, Botman started Sunday’s game on the bench with Dan Burn partnering Jamaal Lascelles in the heart of defence. The Dutchman was introduced to the game at half-time as Howe reshuffled his back line to a five at the back formation.

Emil Krafth, Fabian Schar and Botman played in the middle of that defence, with Tino Livramento and Matt Targett acting as wing backs. The trio were relatively quiet as they repelled much of Arsenal’s attacking thrust with ease.

The Gazette has launched a new WhatsApp NUFC channel to bring the latest news, analysis and team & injury updates directly to your phone. Simply click this link to join our NUFC WhatsApp channel.

However, Botman limped off the pitch in the 70th minute in a substitution that came as a surprise to many watching. The 25-year-old didn’t receive medical attention on the pitch, but was seen to by the medical department after being replaced by Harrison Ashby.

It was revealed post-match that Botman had suffered a groin injury, although claims that it was anything serious were quickly dismissed by his teammates and head coach. Asked for an update on the defender on Tuesday, Howe confirmed that he hadn’t suffered a ‘serious injury’ but that he would definitely miss Wednesday’s game and is a doubt to feature against Spurs at the weekend: “We didn’t think it was a serious injury at the time and we've had that confirmed with a scan,” Howe admitted.

“He won’t play tomorrow (v K League XI). He could play against Tottenham on Sunday, but possibly not. We hope he’ll be available for the double header at St James’ Park.”

Howe could name a much rotated team for his side’s clash against a K-League XI in Suwon on Wednesday with a number of unused substitutes from Sunday’s clash against Arsenal potentially being handed an opportunity to impress. Those players include new signing Seung-soo Park who joined the club from Suwon Bluewings last week.

Following their outing on Wednesday, Howe’s side will then have four days to rest before they face Tottenham Hotspur in Seoul on Sunday. That match will mark the first time that Newcastle United come up against Thomas Frank as new Spurs manager following his move from Brentford earlier this summer.

The game will likely be dominated by Heung-min Son amid intense speculation over his future at the north London club. The South Korean international has been linked with a move to MLS side LAFC this summer.

Wissa netted 19 goals in the Premier League last season, with just five players outsourcing him in the whole division. One of those players was Alexander Isak, the man Wissa could compete alongside at St James’ Park if he was to move to Newcastle United this summer.

The Magpies’ interest in Wissa comes as they look for a back-up to the Swedish international. With Callum Wilson having departed on a free transfer someone to deputise in place of Isak so his minutes in all competitions can be managed is required. Wissa, as one of the league’s top performers last season, seems like an ideal candidate to do just that.

Speculation surrounding Wissa and a departure from the Gtech Community Stadium intensified greatly on Tuesday when it was revealed that he had withdrawn from Brentford’s training camp in Portugal. BBC Sport reported that the DR Congo international had been ‘unsettled’ by speculation over his future with Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur all reportedly interested in his signature.

Wissa will hold talks with Brentford’s director of football Phil Giles over his future at the club in the coming days. The Bees have already seen Bryan Mbeumo leave to join Manchester United this summer, whilst club captain Christian Norgaard joined Arsenal earlier in the window.

Thomas Frank has also moved on to pastures new in north London with Keith Andrews replacing him as Brentford boss. After a summer of upheaval, Brentford will be desperate to keep hold of Wissa and will be very reluctant to see him leave, particularly following the departure of Mbeumo. Together, Wissa and Mbeumo scored 39 Premier League goals last season.

Newcastle United’s Yoane Wissa latest - and Tottenham Hotspur threat

When reports of Wissa’s withdrawal from Brentford’s training camp were revealed on Tuesday, it was also noted that interest from St James’ Park was ‘accelerating’ before reports of a £25m bid, one that was swiftly rejected by Brentford, emerged. Newcastle United have had a frustrating summer to date with only Anthony Elanga having sealed a move to Tyneside but are expected to improve their offer to over £30m, one that may then be accepted by the Bees.

Interest in Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike, Matheus Cunha and Mbeumo was all gazumped by their Premier League rivals and whilst they will hope to avoid that with Wissa, there is a possibility that lightning could strike again. The Magpies, and an ever increasingly worried social media fan base, will likely be concerned about any interest in Wissa from north London and another potential transfer hijack.

The Gazette has launched a new WhatsApp NUFC channel to bring the latest news, analysis and team & injury updates directly to your phone. Simply click this link to join our NUFC WhatsApp channel.

A move to Spurs would see the 28-year-old reunite with his former manager and offer him the chance to stay in the capital. Spurs’ wage structure may also allow for Wissa to earn more there than he would if he moved to St James’ Park.

Furthermore, whilst Wissa wouldn’t struggle for game time at St James’ Park, playing second fiddle to Isak may limit his starts, something that may not be as much of an issue at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Both clubs can also offer Wissa the chance to play in the Champions League next season - a competition he is yet to play in during his career.

Newcastle United have already seen a number of transfer targets move onto other clubs this summer during what has been a frustrating window on Tyneside. The Magpies still have time to make this summer a successful one, but having already seen Liam Delap, Bryan Mbeumo, Joao Pedro and Hugo Ekitike move elsewhere this summer, they will be keen to avoid that between now and Monday 1 September.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool were the beneficiaries of those moves as Newcastle United shopped in the very top markets for players. However, they cannot afford to see too many more transfer targets join their Premier League rivals with a number of areas in Eddie Howe’s squad still needing to be strengthened.

One of those priority areas is up-front. Callum Wilson’s departure leaves them desperately short of options at striker, with Alexander Isak the club’s only recognised senior striker.

Will Osula is still very raw and has not yet started a Premier League game for the Magpies. Anthony Gordon and Anthony Elanga could do a job up front in an emergency, but a back-up to Isak is of paramount importance.

Delap could have filled that role, but a move to Stamford Bridge with the likely promise of more first-team football swayed his decision making. Ekitike was also listed as an option and whilst there was a way to play both him and Isak in the same team, Liverpool’s interest, like PSG three years ago, made a move for the Frenchman almost impossible.

Tottenham Hotspur to ‘hijack’ a move for Yoane Wissa

Newcastle’s search for a new striker has reportedly landed them at the door of Brentford striker Yoane Wissa. Wissa scored 19 goals in the Premier League last season and is wanted by a host of clubs this summer, including Nottingham Forest.

Wissa has also attracted interest from St James’ Park, however, there are two big hurdles to overcome before they can seal a deal for the Bees forward. The first of those is that Brentford have already agreed a fee with Manchester United for Bryan Mbeumo and will be very reluctant to see both Mbeumo and Wissa leave the club this summer.

The second is, if they do agree to sell the striker they value at £50m, then Tottenham Hotspur may provide competition for his signature. Spurs are now under the management of Thomas Frank, the man who worked alongside Wissa at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Frank and Wissa’s relationship, plus the London-factor, may prove too much for Newcastle United to overcome and convince the 28-year-old to make the switch to St James’ Park instead. The Europa League winners also have Champions League football to dangle at any new signings this summer and have already flexed their financial muscles with the capture of West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus, who was also wanted by Newcastle United, joined Spurs for a fee in excess of £50m earlier this summer. Newcastle take on Frank’s side on Sunday 10 August in South Korea in a pre-season friendly.

Newcastle United were heavily-linked with a move for Wissa’s teammate Bryan Mbeumo earlier this summer, only for the Cameroon international to make public his desire to play for Manchester United. The Magpies instead pivoted their attention towards Anthony Elanga and are closing in on a move for the 23-year-old.

Whilst Mbeumo remains a Bees player as negotiations between them and Manchester United drag on, reports linking Wissa with a move away have started to gather pace. Wissa, who turns 29 in September, has less than a year left on his current contract at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Wissa’s contribution of 19 goals and five assists went largely under the radar last season as Mbeumo stole the headlines. As the transfer rumour mill continues to turn, though, it is Wissa’s time to be linked with moves away from Brentford - and he has a familiar face interested in his services.

Tottenham Hotspur ‘eye’ Yoane Wissa move

Just days after the Mail Online reported that Wissa has admirers on Tyneside as Newcastle United search for attacking reinforcements, reports in the Telegraph have detailed of interest from Tottenham Hotspur in the 28-year-old. Former Bees boss Thomas Frank was installed as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement at the north London club last month with a reunion between him and Wissa a possibility this summer.

Richarlison is expected to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, whilst Spurs have also confirmed that they will not be making Timo Werner’s loan move into a permanent transfer. Wissa is viewed as a potential option for Spurs to strengthen their attack and is someone that could slot seamlessly into Frank’s system having worked under the Dane for the past four seasons.

Spurs’ interest in Wissa and potential hijack of a move from Newcastle United comes amid interest in West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus. Kudus was also linked with a move to St James’ Park this summer and had emerged as a potential alternative to Elanga had the Magpies failed to agree a deal with Nottingham Forest to sign the former Manchester United man.

Kudus was linked with a move to Tyneside back in 2023 before joining the Hammers. Newcastle instead moved for Harvey Barnes that summer following Leicester City’s relegation to the Championship.

Spurs, meanwhile, is Kudus’ reported chosen destination this summer if he is allowed to leave the London Stadium. The two clubs had been locked in negotiations over a fee for the Ghanaian international before a breakthrough on Wednesday night.

The Hammers have reportedly accepted a fee of £55m from Spurs for Kudus - according to various reports. Despite finishing 17th in the Premier League with just 38 points from 38 games, Spurs will play in the Champions League next season alongside Newcastle United.

Victory over Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United in the Europa League final granted them a spot in that competition. Club World Cup finalists Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Premier League champions Liverpool will be England’s four other representatives.
