Tottenham player faces anxious wait over incident

Yves Bissouma has issued an apology after footage emerged appearing to show the midfielder inhaling laughing gas.
Yves Bissouma is in the headlines for the wrong reasons
According to The Sun, Bissouma posted a video of him inhaling nitrous oxide from a balloon, also known as laughing gas, on his personal Snapchat before later taking the video down.
The video shows the midfielder taking the substance in a chauffeur-driven limo carrying him and his friendlies, with the party taking place following Tottenham’s 3-2 pre-season friendly defeat against Bayern Munich on Saturday.
It is explained that in the video, Bissouma was seen ‘laughing manically’ between taking hits from a balloon.
The incident has not gone down well with many Spurs fans on social media, with the club’s new Premier League campaign just a week away.
Tottenham are now dealing with the issue as an ‘internal matter’ with the midfielder facing an anxious wait to discover if further punishment could be on his way.

Possession of nitrous oxide – also known as laughing gas or NOS – for recreational use has been a criminal offence in the United Kingdom since 2023 and can result in a two-year prison sentence.
According to the outlet, Bissouma has apologised unequivocally for his actions, admitting that his actions show a lack of judgment.
The 27-year-old said: “I want to apologise for these videos. This was a severe lack of judgment. I understand how serious this is and the health risks involved, and I also take my responsibility as a footballer and role model very seriously.”
Tottenham are dealing with the incident
When the publication contacted Tottenham for comment, the club responded: “We are looking into the events. This will be dealt with as an internal matter.”

While taking an illicit substance is bad enough, taking a video of it and posting it on his own social media acount shows an astounding level of stupidity.
Postecoglou will be fuming that Bissouma has done this a week before the start of the season and the Australian might even leave the midfielder out of the starting eleven for a couple of weeks to teach him a lesson.
