John Wenham, who regularly breaks news on Tottenham’s youth teams via his social media handle, Lilywhite Rose, has now revealed that Mikey Moore’s new contract is expected to have an option of a further two-year extension.

Mikey Moore is Tottenham’s academy gem

Moore is widely viewed as one of the best talents in his age group across the country, which is why it comes as a huge boost to Tottenham to learn that the youngster has committed his future to the club.

This information was first reported by The Athletic, who revealed on Tuesday that the winger has agreed on a three-year deal, which will be officially confirmed by Spurs when he turns 17 this Sunday.

The report revealed that the Lilywhites are paying Moore a higher wage than any 17-year-old in the club’s history.

It was also pointed out that a three-year deal is the longest deal permitted under FIFA regulations for a player who is yet to turn 18.

Spurs insert clause into Mikey Moore contract

Wenham believes that Moore’s deal might contain a clause whereby it could be extended by another couple of years on his 18th birthday next year, thus potentially making this a five-year deal.

It remains to be seen whether that is announced by Spurs next August.

Spurs Web Opinion

Moore would have had the option to go to any top club he wanted, given how highly he is sought after.

The fact that he committed himself to Spurs is yet another sign that the Tottenham academy starlets see a clear pathway to the first team under Ange Postecoglou.

Solomon may struggle for game time at Spurs

Since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk on a free transfer, Manor Solomon has only amassed six appearances in Lilywhite with a meniscus issue sidelining the winger for nine months. (TransferMarkt)

Tottenham are believed to be in the market for another winger this summer with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Spurs have a strong interest in Wolves’ Pedro Neto.

A move for the Portuguese wide man would see Solomon drop further down Ange Postecoglou’s pecking order with his Tottenham future unclear after experiencing limited minutes in pre-season.

Tottenham could loan out Solomon

Clubs from Germany and Spain are interested in signing Manor Solomon on loan this summer, according to Paul O’Keefe.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The interest from European sides could offer Solomon a way out of North London and offer the forward regular game time for the 2024/25 season.

Shay Luggassi also revealed on X that Solomon is not for sale this summer, despite being available on loan, suggesting any loan move would be one without a purchase clause.

Spurs Web opinion

As proven by Bentancur, it can take players a long period of time to return to full sharpness and their form of old, therefore, there must be patience with Solomon, something that he may not get with Spurs after the emergence of Mikey Moore and the possibility of a new winger joining.

Solomon’s loan move must be selected carefully, with a six-month deal perhaps ideal for the winger with that period of time allowing Solomon to regain his fitness and sharpness, whilst also making an impact at his loan club to then allow Tottenham to decide whether to move the winger elsewhere on loan or utilise him at Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a new striker this summer with Dominic Solanke reportedly keen on a move to Spurs. However, Troy Deeney has advised Tottenham to go for Ivan Toney instead.

Solanke wants a move to Tottenham

Spurs manager, Ange Postecoglou, has spoken publicly about his desire to sign a new centre-forward this summer after Richarlison’s injury woes last campaign. The Australian also wants his starting striker to fit his unique way of playing. (Football.London)

The Times report that Solanke is the striker that Tottenham have now set their sights on, revealing that the North London club are now keen to push through a deal for the Bournemouth talisman.

A further update issued by Fabrizio Romano states that talks between Bournemouth and Spurs are now underway with Solanke himself signalling to the Lilywhites that he is keen on a move to N17.

Troy Deeney advises Spurs to sign Toney instead

Whilst speaking on TalkSport this week, former Watford striker, Troy Deeney, has urged Tottenham to sign Ivan Toney instead of chasing Dominic Solanke.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He argued: “I think Solanke works better at somewhere like Arsenal where he has to be on the end of something.

“If you’re going to spend £65million which is the reported fee, I would expect them [Tottenham] to go for Toney, if they can get him.

“Test the water with Brentford and leave the offer on the table for a week.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Contrary to Troy Deeney’s statements, I believe that Dominic Solanke is an ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs system, with the forward possessing the right levels of mobility, energy, strength and finishing to become a star under Ange.

Description

Tottenham manager, Ange Postecoglou, has made no secret of his desire to sign a centre-forward this summer, with a report unveiling that the Australian has demanded a specific type of striker in his latest transfer meeting with the club.

Spurs are looking to add to their forward line this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to be chasing the signature of Dominic Solanke this window, with Fabrizio Romano announcing that Spurs are now in negotiations with Bournemouth after receiving the all-clear from Solanke himself to go ahead with a move.

Rumours come following Postecoglou’s public statement about signing a striker this window, stating: “It’s still the area of the park [striker] we’re really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that’s a focus for us.” (Football.London)

The Standard has revealed that it could be a case of one in, one out, for Tottenham this summer with Saudi Arabian sides keen on signing Richarlison. Spurs could then use the money from the Brazilian’s sale to fund a move for Solanke.

Postecoglou demanded a striker in latest transfer meeting

An explanation for Tottenham’s sudden striker pursuit has been provided by Ben Jacobs who announced that Postecoglou outlined his desire to add a particular type of striker to his ranks in a recent meeting with the Spurs hierarchy.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Jacobs reported: “With Ange Postecoglou, I’m told that in a recent recruitment meeting, he said he’d prefer Premier League experience, which is where Dominic Solanke comes into the mix.”

It could now be a race against time to agree a deal for Solanke with Tottenham’s opening Premier League fixture being just under two weeks away.

Spurs Web opinion

If true, it is promising to see that Ange Postecoglou’s demands are being met with Solanke a Premier League proven centre-forward, exactly as Postecoglou reportedly demanded.

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Destiny Udogie is now back training with the squad and Richarlison is also on the verge of returning to action.

Postecoglou almost has a fully-fit squad

Postecoglou has been without several of his key players during pre-season so far but the last of the internationals have now returned to training.

Rodrigo Bentancur, Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven linked up with the squad on Tuesday as the Lilywhites step up their preparation ahead of the new Premier League season, which is now less than two weeks away.

Postecoglou has also been without both Udogie and Richarlsion so far this summer, with both players recovering from injuries they picked up towards the end of last campaign.

Udogie and Richarlison will return soon

However, the Australian has now confirmed that the left-back is now fit while the Brazilian striker is expected to join the group in training this week ahead of the club’s final pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Postecoglou told Tottenham’s official website: “We’ve still got two weeks (until the first game of the season). We’ll get some players back this week – obviously, the internationals will be back, Destiny (Udogie) is back training with us.

“Richarlison should be back in the week – so we’ll get some of our top-end players back into the group which I think will help. Once we get back we’ve got 10 to 12 days before our first game and we’ll make sure we are ready.”

Spurs Web Opinion

With Udogie and Richarlison both coming off a relatively long injury lay-off, one would expect the pair to take a few weeks to reach peak fitness and get fully up to speed.

One would not be surprised if neither player started Spurs’ Premier League opener against Leicester City.

Argentine journalist Gaston Edul has revealed that Real Madrid’s attempts to land Cristian Romero this summer were rejected out of hand by Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham do not want to sell Cristian Romero

Romero has become an indispensable part of the Tottenham team, emerging as the leader of the club’s backline.

Ange Postecoglou’s decision to hand the Argentine the vice-captaincy was a clear signal of his importance to the current project underway at Hotspur Way.

It turns out that Spurs have foiled attempts from Real Madrid to poach the centre-back this summer.

Real Madrid want to sign Cristian Romero

Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe revealed on the Last Word on Spurs podcast on Monday that Madrid enquired about Romero’s availability earlier this year.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, he explained that Daniel Levy quoted them a price of £150m, which scared off Los Blancos.

Ezul has now also taken to social media to confirm that Carlo Ancelotti’s men contacted Spurs about Romero.

The journalist asserts that the Premier League side made it clear to the Spanish giants that they would not entertain any offers for the defender, even refusing to come to the negotiating table.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham need to fight for major honours this season and convince Romeor that he can fulfil his ambitions at the club. Otherwise, I fear that we might be in very real danger of losing the Argentine next summer.

Paul O'Keefe explains why Spurs are prioritising player sales over new signings

Submitted by daniel on
Picture

Description

Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has said that reducing the club’s wage bill was one of Daniel Levy’s top priorities ahead of the summer transfer window.

Spurs have seen plenty of outgoings this summer

Spurs have been extremely active in terms of outgoings so far, managing to shift a lot of their deadwood much more effectively than previous transfer windows.

Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga, Joe Rodon, Tanguy Ndombele, Troy Parrott, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Bryan Gil have all departed the club so far and many expect Emerson Royal, Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon to follow over the coming days and weeks.

Some Spurs fans have been frustrated with the lack of big-name signings so far, with the club evidently prioritising trimming their squad first.

Spurs want to sell before they invest

O’Keefe has revealed on the Last Word on Spurs that the summer remit has come from Levy who was keen on getting some of the big earners off the books.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In fact, he asserted that lowering the club’s wage bill was one of the Tottenham chairman’s top priorities coming into the transfer window.

Hopefully, this will give the Lilywhites more room to invest over the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

The reality is that our squad was way too bloated, with the many fringe players on massive wages, which is something clubs cannot afford in the PSR era.

We needed to free up space in the wage bill for new signings. We have managed to do that and with just weeks left until the window slams shut, Spurs now need to make two or three statement signings to signal their intent.

Description

According to a report in L’Equipe (as relayed by GFFN), Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for Jonathan David after the striker turned down the chance to join AS Roma.

Roma wanted Jonathan David

The report says that the Serie A club were keen on securing the services of David, who is now in the final year of his contract at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

However, the 24-year-old has decided to reject the approach from the Giallorossi and wait for a better offer to arrive instead.

It is explained that Lille are ready to offer the Canadian international a new contract but the player has made it clear that he wants to leave the club in search of a new challenge.

Tottenham are still looking at Jonathan David

It is alleged that Tottenham are one of the clubs circling over David as Ange Postecoglou looks to add more firepower to his forward.

MORE SPURS STORIES

This comes amidst reports that the Lilywhites are in talks with Bournemouth over a potential deal for Dominic Solanke (Fabrizio Romano).

It is revealed that Atletico Madrid had also previously shown interest in the Lille star but they have now turned their attention to Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez instead.

Spurs Web Opinion

All indications are that Tottenham are now prioritising a move for Dominic Solanke, with the Lilywhites perhaps identifying David as a fallback option in case a move for the Bournemouth star falls through.

I’m surprised no one else has snapped up David this summer though, but then again maybe the striker is simply keeping his options open.

Football Insider say that Tottenham Hotspur are bracing themselves for offers to arrive for Richarlison in the coming days.

Saudi Arabian clubs want Richarlison

The report says that Richarlison is of interest to Saudi Arabian sides, who are now contemplating making a ‘huge offer’ for the Tottenham man.

It is explained that Saudi clubs will decide their budget ahead of the new season shortly, with official offers expected to be made for a whole host of players across Europe.

Richarlison is said to be one of the big names on their radar, with clubs from the Middle Eastern country ready to offer a major pay hike to the player.

What next for Richarlison?

The outlet explains that Saudi Pro League sides have already contacted the 27-year-old to make big proposals, with the former Everton man now considering his options.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The publication adds that there are concerns over Richarlison’s fitness at Hotspur Way, which is why Spurs remain open to offers for their number nine.

The transfer window in Saudi Arabia remains open until October 6, which is why clubs in the SPL are only now working out their budgets for the current window.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be extremely surprised if Richarlison departed Tottenham this summer.

According to HITC, Tottenham Hotspur have now been offered a chance to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone.

Tottenham were interested in Manu Kone

The report says that Spurs had previously shown an interest in Kone, having watched him in action plenty of times over the last 12 months.

The 23-year-old has now allegedly been offered to Tottenham as well as the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Fulham.

This is because the player has allegedly informed Gladbach of his desire to leave, with the Bundesliga club thus putting him in the shop window.

Chelsea are also keen on Manu Kone

The report reveals that Chelsea previously eyed Kone as a potential replacement for Conor Gallagher while the Frenchman was also on the radar of Newcastle United back in January.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The midfielder’s representatives have now allegedly contacted a number of English clubs ahead of the start of a new season to discuss a potential transfer for their client.

The publication adds that Gladbach value Kone at £20m and with Tottenham in the market for midfield reinforcements, they may be tempted to make a move for the Bundesliga man.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Tottenham being unsuccessful in their pursuits of Conor Gallagher and Jacob Ramsey, it is unclear who the North London club’s top midfield target now is.

Perhaps Postecoglou is happy to use Archie Gray as Hojbjerg’s replacement, with Djed Spence serving as Porro’s understudy at right-back.
