One of Tottenham’s newest additions has admitted that he is loving life at Spurs so far but confessed that he has had to face some difficult challenges in his first month at the North London side.

After arriving from Lens during the dying stages of the January window, Kevin Danso has hit the ground running at Spurs.

The Austrian has demonstrated the value of experience at the back, with his arrival coinciding with a significant defensive improvement for Ange Postecoglou‘s side, who have conceded just twice in their last three Premier League outings against Man Utd, Ipswich and Man City.

The 26-year-old is already becoming a fan favourite at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but he has now admitted that not everything has been easy so far at his new club.

Kevin Danso determined to ace Tottenham challenges

Danso has looked at home in the Premier League straight away, which is perhaps down to the fact that he has played in the English topflight previously during his loan spell at Southampton back in 2019-20.

The centre-back has now admitted that he has faced some difficulties in readapting to English football, but he insisted that he is relishing the challenge of coming up against top strikers on a regular basis.

Danso told The Standard: “I try to get my body in the way of everything. That’s my identity as a centre-half, just try to make blocks, to stop the opposition coming through.

“Of course, in a physical league like the Premier League you’re always going to get some knocks and bumps, it’s all part of the game. I’ve enjoyed it. It’s been difficult but I’m a person who likes a challenge.

“That’s exactly what the Premier League is, it’s a challenge for everybody. You come up against top strikers, every team you play against have top players.

“I’m loving it and hopefully we’re going to keep results like we have done the three previous games and keep pushing as far up the table as possible.”

Danso admits Spurs teammates have made things easier

The Spurs newcomer credited his teammates and the coaching staff for making it easier for him to ease into life in N17.

The defender remarked that he is proud to be playing for a club with such a rich history and added that he is determined to contribute to Tottenham’s success.

When asked how he has found life at Spurs so far, Danso responded: “It’s been amazing. That’s football. Through my career, I’ve gathered some experience now. It’s been difficult but easy at the same time because everyone around the club has made it easy for me to settle in, the coaching staff, the players.

“I’m honoured to be part of this massive club. The results could be a bit better, everyone knows that, but you can see our quality with the players coming back. I just hope we can push on and get more victories.”

Tottenham could battle Bayern Munich and Newcastle to sign Porto striker

Tottenham Hotspur are now plotting a move for a Spanish striker, who is having a barnstorming season in Portugal after making a big move last summer, but the Lilywhites are not the only ones tracking the emerging star.

Samu Aghehowa has been a revelation since swapping Atletico Madrid for Porto last summer, with the centre-forward scoring goals for fun in the Portuguese top flight.

The 20-year-old has found the back of the net 19 times across all competitions so far this season, and his displays at the Estadio do Dragao are now reportedly attracting envious glances from the Premier League.

Tottenham plotting move for Samu Aghehowa

CaughOffside say that Tottenham are one of the sides considering a move for the centre-forward as they look to bolster their attack again in the summer following the capture of Mathys Tel in January.

The Lilywhites are expected to face competition from Bayern Munich as well as from Premier League rivals, Newcastle United and Aston Villa, who are also on the Aghehowa’s trail.

It is alleged by other sources that Aghehowa is valued at £41m by Porto, although it remains to be seen if that will go up if the striker has a strong finish to the season.

Why Newcastle might be Spurs’ main threat

Interestingly, the report suggests that Newcastle might have already started doing groundwork on a deal to sign a striker, with the club said to have a ‘growing appreciation’ for Aghehowa.

This is because the Magpies are increasingly concerned about losing star-forward Alexander Isak, with Liverpool stepping up their pursuit of the Swede ahead of the summer.

The publication states that Eddie Howe’s men have identified the Porto man as someone who can fill the void left by Isak’s potential departure, although they are not expected to find it easy to win the race for the former Atletico Madrid man.

Former Tottenham scout, Bryan King, believes that a senior Spurs man is expected to double his salary sooner rather than later, thus becoming one of the highest-paid players at the North London side.

It emerged at the start of this week that Tottenham had begun talks to tie down Rodrigo Bentancur to a new long-term contract.

The Uruguayan enters the final year of his deal this summer, but Spurs are reportedly determined to ensure that does not happen. Tottenham are expected to intensify talks with his entourage over the next few weeks.

When quizzed on the matter a few days ago, Ange Postecoglou refused to reveal any details about the Bentancur contract talks, but he did make it clear that the 27-year-old is a key part of his plans going forward.

Rodrigo Bentancur backed to get a huge salary increase

Tottenham’s former scout, Bryan King, who remains well-connected at Hotspur Way, believes that it would be a prudent move for the club to tie down the former Juventus man to a long-term deal.

He suggested that the experienced midfielder would be offered a deal worth £150,000 per week by Spurs, which would make him one of the top earners at the club.

When asked about the reports of Tottenham being in talks with Bentancur over a contract extension, King told Tottenham News: “This has got to be an offer worth at least six figures. He is currently on £75,000-a-week, and we’re talking about a good player here.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Therefore, Spurs are going to need to offer £125,000-a-week at least. However, that offer could reach as high as £150,000-a-week, especially when you see what players are earning today.

“I think he is worth that kind of money because he is a very good player. To buy someone of that quality is going to cost you at least £50 million. Therefore, at the end of the day, a three or four-year deal will only cost you around half that price.”

A £150,000-per-week contract would place Bentancur as the fourth-highest-earning player in the Tottenham squad.

Tying down Bentancur is a no-brainer for Tottenham

Bentancur is undoubtedly Tottenham’s best number six at the moment, with the Uruguayan offering a lot more on the ball than Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr.

It does not come as a surprise that Postecoglou has identified the former Juve man as a key part of his long-term plans, with the player having emerged as a leader in the dressing room over the course of the season.

After a stop-start couple of years, Bentancur is now finally showing signs of getting to the levels he was at before his big ACL injury.

Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on securing two of the best young talents in Greek football, but the Lilywhites are joined in the race for the duo by several Premier League sides, with one of them potentially having a huge advantage in the race.

Tottenham have secured the services of a number of young talented teenagers over the last few transfer windows, and they have now been backed to repeat the trick this summer, with two of Olympiacos’ youngsters catching their eye.

One of those is 17-year-old forward Charalampos Kostoulas, who can play across the front three and has been likened by experts to Edinson Cavani for his movement and his instinct inside the box.

Another is 18-year-old midfielder, Christos Mouzakitis, who has already been capped for Greece and continues to impress in the heart of the Olympiacos midfield.

Tottenham targeting Charalampos Kostoulas and Christos Mouzakitis

TBR Football have said that Kostoulas and Mouzakitis are rated by talent spotters as two of the most promising youngsters in their age group across European football.

Spurs are thus keen on adding the midfielder and the forward to the array of extremely talented teenagers they already have in their squad.

However, they are not the only ones who are fans of the Olympiacos pair, with Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Chelsea and Aston Villa also on their trail ahead of the summer.

Why Forest may have an advantage in the transfer race

The outlet points out that Forest may be favourites to beat their Premier League rivals to the signatures of Kostoulas and Mouzakitis this summer. This is because they and Olympiacos are part of the same group, owned by Evangelos Marinakis.

The report adds that the two clubs have done plenty of business over the years, with Marinakis wanting to ensure that Forest become a real force in English football over the coming years.

As a result, he is thought to be open to allowing the two Olympiacos starlets to complete a switch to the City Ground in the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been impressed with one young Southampton defender’s performances this season and they are one of several clubs plotting a move for the player when the transfer window opens in June.

It has been a disastrous campaign for Southampton who look destined to go straight back down to the Championship. The Saints currently find themselves rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, 13 points away from safety.

There are already clubs circling some of the club’s best young talent, with reports over recent weeks revealing that Tyler Dibling is on the wishlist of Spurs as well as other top sides.

It has now been revealed that the Lilywhites and a host of other clubs also have their eye on a centre-back, who has impressed in his first season at the South Coast.

Tottenham one of several clubs circling Taylor Harwood-Bellis

This report comes from TBR Football, who claim that Taylor Harwood-Bellis’ displays at the back for Ivan Juric’s men have piqued the interest of several big hitters.

The 23-year-old moved to St Mary’s from Manchester City last summer and has been a regular in the Saints backline this term, with 24 league appearances to his name so far.

Even though Harwood-Bellis has been part of a leaky defence, which has conceded 46 goals this season, Spurs, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Everton, Brighton and West Ham have all been impressed by his displays.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The outlet says that the young centre-back will be part of an exodus from Southampton in the summer, with the player even changing his agent recently in preparation for a transfer.

Man City clause may complicate transfer pursuit

It is revealed that Harwood-Bellis, who made his England debut back in November, is keen to be a part of the Three Lions squad for next year’s World Cup and is thus expected to push for a transfer.

However, it is pointed out that when Man City sold the youngster to Southampton in a £20m deal last summer, they not only inserted a 25 per cent sell-on clause but also a buy-back clause to the agreement.

It is unclear how much City’s buy-back clause is worth or whether Pep Guardiola’s men plan on activating it at the end of the season.

Following West Ham United’s 2-0 win over Leicester City, midfielder Tomas Soucek has sent a message to Tottenham stating that the Hammers have one goal this season.

Football is a game built on rivalries, and the Premier League is no exception. For Tottenham Hotspur, the North London derby against Arsenal is the fiercest battle of all.

However, the Lilywhites have other intense matchups across the capital, with games against fellow London sides adding fuel to long-standing rivalries.

The last time Tottenham faced West Ham, tensions flared as Mohammed Kudus saw red for raising his hands to both Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr.

Meanwhile, in a heated encounter against Chelsea, Spurs fans threw paper missiles at Cole Palmer, underlining the fiery nature of these clashes.

Thomas Soucek aims to topple Tottenham Hotspur

In the spirit of such rivalries, West Ham’s Tomas Soucek has made it clear that his side is determined to finish above Tottenham after scoring in the Hammers’ win over Leicester City.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Soucek emphasised that his team’s goal is to finish as high as possible, directly challenging Tottenham and Manchester United in the process.

The Czech midfielder also highlighted the significance of the Tottenham fixture for West Ham fans, labelling it a “big derby” and insisting he wants the Hammers to be “better than them.”

He told TNT Sports as relayed by BBC Sport: “It is tough to have this big impact in the second half of the season, but I think in these last two games we have shown good spirit and a strong team effort.

“I could see in the first half it was a very good performance, in the second we made a few mistakes but still won 2-0, and it was a great result.

“I think that even this can help our manager believe in what we are doing, and we are all so grateful for him.

“We know that the season is tough, but we want to finish as high as possible. We know we can challenge some big teams.

“Manchester United and Tottenham are around us. Even for West Ham fans, it is a big derby with Tottenham, so we want to be better than them.”

When West Ham and Spurs meet again

Soucek’s ambition of finishing above Spurs is still within reach, with both sides currently level on points. Tottenham sit in 13th place, while West Ham are in 15th, highlighting a challenging season for both clubs.

While West Ham aim for a strong league finish, Tottenham have their sights set on European glory, with the Europa League becoming a priority.

The next meeting between the two rivals is set to be a thrilling encounter, scheduled for 23rd March 2025 at 12:00 pm UK time. With both sides eager to assert dominance, it promises to be another fiery London derby.

Harry Kane betraying Tottenham to join Arsenal would be ‘sensible’ – Simon Jordan

Simon Jordan has risked the wrath of Tottenham fans by claiming that Harry Kane would be smart to join Arsenal, urging the Spurs legend to move to the Emirates over returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Since it first emerged earlier this month that Harry Kane’s contract with Bayern Munich has a £54m release clause, there has been plenty of talk about the striker potentially making a return to the Premier League this summer, just two years on from swapping Spurs for Bayern Munich.

Some reports have suggested over recent weeks that Tottenham have not ruled out the possibility of making a shock move for Harry Kane this summer.

However, reports from Germany have insisted that Bayern are relaxed about Kane’s exit clause and do not expect their star striker to push for a move this summer.

Simon Jordan urges Harry Kane to snub Tottenham for Arsenal

Simon Jordan has now argued that linking up with Mikel Arteta’s side would be a far more prudent move for Kane than returning to his former stomping ground.

The pundit suggested that the 31-year-old is the missing piece of the puzzle for Arsenal and suggested that his legacy would get a huge boost if he can fire the Gunners to the Premier League title.

Jordan wrote in The Daily Mail: “If Arsenal fans feel deflated at the end of the season for again finishing Premier League runners-up – which they should! – I’d suggest the perfect tonic for them would be to sign Harry Kane.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“A flight of fancy? Perhaps, it depends on how deep the England captain feels his attachment to his former employees, Tottenham Hotspur.

“But professionally it would make sense for all sides. Arsenal would get the prolific goalscorer to help them take the final step and Kane would give himself the best chance of winning a league title in this country as well as surpassing Alan Shearer as the Premier League’s leading marksman.

“Both of which I’d suggest gives him a more meaningful legacy than a Bundesliga winners’ medal, which Bayern Munich achieve nearly every season.

“Certainly, if Kane decided to return to his country next season with a £54million buy-out clause there to be activated, joining Arsenal would be a more sensible decision than returning to Tottenham, who need another £300m spent on players to become realistic challengers, something that is very unlikely to happen under the current ownership.”

Jordan claims Arsenal fans would be delighted to sing Kane

Jordan believes that Arsenal would be over the moon to see the England captain don their colours and even suggested that a move to the Emirates would be the only smart option for the striker if he chooses to return to England.

The former Crystal Palace claimed that rational Spurs fans would understand Kane’s decision if he did decide to join the Old Enemy for the sake of his career.

He added: “I’ve no doubt Gunners fans would be delighted to see Kane in the red and white. They would regard it as the ultimate one-upmanship over their local rivals, and taking one of the best players in Tottenham’s history would give them even greater opportunity to ridicule them.

“Of course, Kane will have other options, but maybe not as many good ones as he would want, given that he turns 32 in July. Manchester City have Erling Haaland, Liverpool a variety of different goal outlets and Chelsea’s spending model is based on younger players with growth potential and sell-on value. Manchester United? Forget it, if you want to hit the ground running in a decent team right away.

“The Newcastle project would be interesting and there may be a vacancy should Alexander Isak leave, although I don’t know who can afford the Swede’s £100m-plus valuation. Real Madrid and Barcelona struggle these days because of financial rules in Spain.

“If I was in the unfortunate and reprehensible position of choosing the career path of being a football agent, I would suggest to Kane he most certainly looks at all options, including Arsenal. He is a big boy now, not a child, and will ultimately make his own mind up, but he needs a clear head to make a rational decision.

“Kane has already severed his ties with Spurs by joining Bayern. While certain sections of the Tottenham fanbase would see it as a betrayal for him to end up in another part of north London, you would hope most rational thinkers would understand he wants to take the best opportunity on offer. And while he was once part of the Tottenham family, players in the end have to look after themselves.”

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Tyler Dibling just got a lot harder, with reports indicating that a Premier League rival and another Bundesliga club are now set to make advances towards the Southampton man in the summer.

We are still more than three months away from the opening of the summer transfer window, but speculation has already begun regarding Tottenham’s possible transfer targets.

A number of outlets have suggested over recent days that Tottenham are expected to go back in for Tyler Dibling after failing with an approach for the Southampton man during the January window.

Tottenham were reportedly put off by Southampton’s demands of £55m for the winger in January and they are hoping to sign him for a discounted fee in the summer if the Saints go down.

Aston Villa and RB Leipzig challenge Spurs for Dibling

A fresh report in The Daily Mail has now claimed that the list of Dibling’s admirers is growing ahead of the summer, with Aston Villa being the latest club to join the race.

The Villans have reportedly made ‘tentative enquires’ about the teenager over recent weeks as they consider making an approach when the transfer market opens in June.

RB Leipzig also hold ‘concrete interest’ in the England Under-21 international, with the Bundesliga club and the Midlands side set to challenge Ange Postecoglou‘s men in the race for the winger.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham would be an attractive destination for Tyler Dibling

Dibling and other upcoming young players around Europe would have noticed the fact that teenagers have been getting regular opportunities at Spurs under Postecoglou this season.

The Australian can thus persuasively make the case to the young players that Tottenham are after that a move to N17 would be the ideal next step for them in their development.

The North London club are also in a much better financial position than Villa heading into the summer, with Unai Emery’s men potentially having to take cost-cutting measures if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly at the front of the queue to land a very highly-rated Premier League midfielder, but the North London club are baulking at the player’s release clause and are hoping to sign him on a discount.

Eberechi Eze has oozed class from the moment he set foot at Crystal Palace four and a half years ago and the midfielder has already been capped nine times for England since making his senior debut in 2023.

The fact that the 26-year-old has not been poached by one of the bigger clubs in the Premier League would be a surprise to many, but that could potentially change in the summer.

A fresh report has now claimed that a number of top sides, including Spurs, are now plotting a move for the Eagles man when the transfer window reopens in June.

Tottenham want to sign Eberechi Eze at a discount £50m

This update comes from GiveMeSport, who say that a move to Spurs is now becoming a ‘concrete option’ for Eze this season as the Lilywhites plot a move for the player.

The report states that as things stand, Tottenham are ‘the most interested side’ in the former QPR man’s services, with Ange Postecoglou’s men keen on adding him to their squad.

Eze is thought to prefer staying in the capital if he leaves Selhurst Park, with the midfielder said to be open to joining Spurs at the end of the season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, the outlet states that the North London side have no intention of meeting his £68m release clause and are instead hoping to complete a deal for around £50m.

Palace’s stance on Eze as competition intensifies

GiveMeSport state that Man Utd and Napoli also have Eze on their shortlist, but those two clubs are also unwilling to meet the player’s release clause.

However, it is revealed that Palace have not given up hope of keeping the midfielder at the club beyond the end of the season.

Oliver Glasner’s men are having a strong second half of the campaign and they want to build on the foundation they have by keeping Eze, whose current deal runs until 2027.

Tottenham miss out on £75m in six years as Daniel Levy rejects offer after offer

Tottenham Hotspur have missed out on a significant amount of money over the last few years as a result of Daniel Levy turning down several lucrative offers for the naming rights of their stadium.

It has now been nearly six years since Spurs moved into their new stadium, but the club are yet to secure a naming rights partner so far.

Reports since the grand opening have claimed that Tottenham have had conversations with Amazon, Google, and DHL regarding a long-term deal.

Some sources have suggested that Daniel Levy is holding out for a lucrative 10-year deal worth around £25m per year, and a fresh update has now suggested that the Spurs chairman is not willing to budge on his valuation.

Tottenham have rejected multiple naming rights offers

Football Insider have now revealed that Spurs have been trying hard to secure a naming rights partner, but only at the price they want, with the Lilywhites unsuccessful in attracting a big enough offer so far.

The report claims that multiple brands have held conversations with Levy and while they were not ready to pay £25m per year, many of them offered to pay around £10m-£15m for the naming rights.

However, the Tottenham chairman has turned down all of these offers and continues to hold firm on his valuation. It is suggested Spurs have missed out on around £75m in extra revenue so far as a result of Levy playing hardball.

Daniel Levy might have a naming rights problem at Spurs

Football Finance expert Kieran Maguire suggested earlier this month that the longer Tottenham wait to find a naming rights partner, the harder it will get to secure a lucrative deal.

He pointed out that the current name of the stadium will become embedded in the fans’ psyche, thus making it difficult for the name transition, which brands will take into account.

Maguire told Football Insider previously: “From my understanding, they have been looking to get a long-term deal and they have got close on a number of occasions but no cigar in terms of sign-off on both sides. The concern is that the longer you leave it, the more embedded the name of the stadium as it is becoming among fans.

“Officially, it’s the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Spurs fans just call it White Hart Lane. The media still swallow the official name because it becomes much easier to transition to the Nike Arena or whatever it is going to be called. My concern is that the longer it takes, the pool of potential partners decreases.

“On the other hand, Man City’s stadium was the Commonwealth Stadium before it became the Etihad and we still all refer to it as the Etihad these days. So, that first deal is the big one. I can understand Spurs being cautious to a degree. But there must be a reason why the deal has not been signed off. I think the finger is very much pointed at one person here.”
