Recent reports reveal that Tottenham Hotspur’s ambitious plans for a new training ground for the women’s team have been approved by Enfield Council.

Tottenham’s focus on inclusivity and growth

Football has always been more than just a game; it is a global sport that fosters inclusivity, bringing people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds together on and off the pitch.

For Spurs, the responsibility to nurture talent extends beyond their men’s first team, as they invest heavily in youth development, academy setups, and the women’s game.

With the growing popularity of the Women’s Super League, Tottenham Hotspur has recognised the need to provide its women’s team with facilities that match the ambition shown on the pitch.

Enfield Council approves new Tottenham training ground

The Standard reveal that Enfield Council has officially approved Tottenham Hotspur’s plan to fence off part of Whitewebbs Park and transform it into a new training ground for their women’s team.

The new facility will include 11 football pitches, a clubhouse, and restored parkland on the site, which is adjacent to the men’s training ground in Enfield.

The development has been described by Spurs striker Bethany England as a “once-in-a-generation opportunity” for the club.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Enfield Council’s documents also confirm that around 23 hectares of historic parkland will be restored as part of the project, which is intended to enhance the overall environment.

Despite these reassurances, opposition remains strong among local campaigners and councillors. The main point of contention centres on concerns about the loss of public green space and the impact the construction could have on local wildlife.

Progress for Tottenham Hotspur women’s team

For Tottenham’s women’s team, the approval of this project marks an exciting step forward in their development.

Currently sitting sixth in the Women’s Super League, they find themselves well behind league leaders Chelsea—a gap that investment in top facilities could help close over time.

Better infrastructure has the potential to attract more talent, improve performance, and ultimately elevate the club’s standing in the women’s game.

From a footballing perspective, it is easy to see the benefits of the new training ground, but the environmental concerns raised cannot be ignored.

Eight players who could leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer

Description

As the summer transfer window edges closer, Tottenham Hotspur are set to continue to rebuild and reshape their squad. Incomings are great, but so are outgoings – Let’s find out eight players that could be shown the exit door this summer at Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur’s recruitment in recent seasons has been ambitious, aiming to push the club closer to their long-awaited return to the top four in the Premier League.

However, as much as adding new faces to the squad is essential, offloading players who no longer fit into the club’s long-term plans is equally important.

Eight players facing uncertain futures at Tottenham Hotspur

With the summer window now approaching, we have put together a list of eight players who could be leaving the Lilywhites.

Yves Bissouma

Bissouma falls under the category of under performing players who are just not cut off for the highest level of football. His campaign this season has been filled with loads of mistakes and inconsistencies.

There are games where he looks solid and unplayable, but then there are games where is absoultely awful.

The recent Carabao Cup outing against Liverpool, was one of the worst displays I have seen from him in a not too long while. With his contract is set to expire in 2026, this summer offers the club a perfect opportunity to cash in on him should offers come.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Richarlison

Richarlison, is not a bad player and I really do love him as a Spurs player, but the issue here is that he cannot stay fit. Given the amount of games that teams at the highest level are expected to play in a season, the forward just seems like a minus at the moment.

In his time at Spurs, he has made 81 appearances, however, at the same time, he has missed 48 matches because of injuries.

If the injuries can be fixed then he is a great player to have around, however, if it can’t, which is looking like that is the case, then his time in the Lilywhite of Spurs will be cut short this summer. A move to Saudi Arabia or even Newcastle might be on the cards.

Fraser Forster

Fraser Forster who is in his final months of his current contract, was a good backup for the club. However, he is now well into his thirties, 36 to be precise. With Kinsky and Austin ahead of him in the pecking order, Forster’s final game for Spurs will be coming sometime this season, if he has not already played it.

His experience has been valuable, but it is clear that the club is looking to promote younger options in the goalkeeping department.

Sergio Reguilón

Still on the theme of expiring contracts, we have Sergio Reguilón. The Spanish full-back has been a great professional throughout his time at Spurs.

Even after being outcasted from the team, he never made a fuss about it and when he was called upon, he was there giving his very best.

However, with the way he was treated, it is clear that his time at N17 is up, a new challenge elsewhere is the best thing for his career. There have been talks linking him with a move to the Turkish League.

Alfie Whiteman

Alfie Whiteman, 26, a goalkeeper, signed 2019, games played – zero. You get the gist by now, Spurs already have three goalkeepers and if Whiteman has not played since joining the first-team, then the club’s feeling about him is clear, he is not part of their plans. His contract expires and it will not be renewed.

Timo Werner

Timo Werner, it just never worked out for the German who is currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur. I mean his record almost certainly speaks for itself as he has managed just three goals and six assists in his forty appearances for Spurs.

His omission from the club’s Europa League squad, coupled with the club’s persistent chase for a forward, all but confirms that his loan will not be permanent.

Alejo Véliz

Veliz has had several loan spells away from Tottenham Hotspur, which is quite normal as he is still quite young. However, his loan spells have been far from encouraging, he is currently at Espanyol, he has played 18 games and has managed just one goal.

If an offer comes in for the player you will believe that he will be moved on. He is clearly down the pecking order, the likes of Scarlett, Solanke, Tel, Lankshear and Jamie Donley are players that get a place in the team ahead of him.

Cristian Romero

Will Harry Kane ever return to Tottenham Hotspur? – opinion

Description

It is the question on every Tottenham fan’s lips: could Harry Kane make a sensational return to N17? His departure to Bayern Munich left a void, but recent contract details suggest a comeback might not be entirely out of the question.

The transfer that changed everything

In the summer of 2023, Tottenham Hotspur saw their talismanic striker Harry Kane depart for Bayern Munich in a deal worth £100 million. While many questioned the fee for a player on the wrong side of 30, Kane has silenced the doubters with a remarkable return in Germany.

He has already notched up 70 goals and provided 22 assists in 72 appearances for the Bavarian giants, proving his worth with consistent and clinical performances.

However, amidst his individual brilliance, Bayern Munich endured a rare trophyless campaign in his debut season—a stark contrast to the striker’s ambitions.

At 31, Kane’s hunger for silverware has only intensified, and with Vincent Kompany now managing the German side, there is hope that trophies will soon follow.

A clause in Harry Kane’s contract changes everything

What makes Kane’s situation all the more intriguing is the release clause in his contract. It has been confirmed that from the winter of 2026, the forward will be available for a cut-price fee of £54 million.

While that figure is significantly lower than the £100 million Bayern paid for him, the real twist lies in Tottenham Hotspur’s first right-to-refusal clause.

MORE SPURS STORIES

This clause gives Tottenham the chance to match any offer Bayern Munich receive for Kane, giving the North London club a distinct advantage if they decide to bring their former captain back home. The question, however, remains: would Kane be willing to return?

There are certainly arguments in favour of it. Kane remains Tottenham through and through, and while his departure was driven by a desire to win trophies, a return could offer him the chance to finish what he started at Spurs.

The striker’s legacy at Tottenham is already immense—341 goal contributions, including 280 goals and 61 assists, is an achievement that very few players can rival.

Why a return to Tottenham makes sense for Harry Kane

In my opinion, there is a genuine possibility that Kane could return to N17, particularly if circumstances align in the coming seasons.

Firstly, the structure of his contract suggests that a return was always a possibility. If he had no intention of considering a move back, why would his representatives have negotiated a release clause that becomes active after only three years?

The way the contract is set up clearly benefits Tottenham, and if the Lilywhites match a bid for him in 2026, it is difficult to imagine Kane rejecting the opportunity to return.

Secondly, Tottenham’s trajectory under Ange Postecoglou could be a key factor. If the club manages to secure silverware—a Europa League or an FA Cup, for instance—and shows real ambition in the transfer market, Kane might be tempted to rejoin the project.

A competitive Tottenham side, with tangible success and an eye on the Premier League title, could present a very different proposition compared to the one he left.

Finally, while there might be concerns about his age, I do not think that should be a reason not to go after the Tottenham Hotspur legend.

Kane will be 32 in 2026, the same age as Mohamed Salah is now, and recent years have shown that top players can maintain their form well into their mid-30s.

Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski, and Luka Modric are just a few examples of players who have defied the traditional boundaries of age and continued to deliver at the highest level.

Kane’s style of play—focused on positioning, vision, and technical ability—does not rely heavily on pace, meaning he could remain effective for years to come.

Additionally, his ambition to break Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal record is another factor. If Kane were to return at 32 and spend four more seasons in the Premier League, it is almost certain that he would surpass that record.

Tottenham have already decided their summer transfer priority

Description

Tottenham Hotspur had a busy end to the January transfer window, pulling off two deals in the final days of the market, but the Lilywhites have reportedly already decided what their priority will be for the summer.

A late transfer flurry from Tottenham

Tottenham fans were frustrated for much of January as there was a massive lull after their early capture of Antonin Kinsky, with the club waiting until the final days of the window to secure deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel.

When asked why Spurs waited until so late the club’s technical director, Johan Lange said the club were ready to complete their signings early but had to wait until the latter stages to get the players that they wanted.

The Dane also spoke about the complications of signing players mid-season and insisted that they were happy to be able to bring Kinsky, Danso and Tel through the door.

Tottenham identify transfer priority for summer

The Athletic have now done a review on Tottenham’s business in January, giving context to why and how the club made moves for Kinsky, Danso and Tel.

The outlet points out that while Spurs may not have shelled out a huge fee during the window, they have already committed to spending big in the summer, given the £20m obligation to buy they have on the Austrian centre-back, and the £50m option on the on-loan Bayern man.

However, interestingly, the report says that Ange Postecoglou‘s men have already decided what position they will prioritise strengthening in the summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The publication asserts that Tottenham will pursue ‘an elite, multi-functional forward’, with the club keen on bringing in a goalscorer who can take some burden off Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham’s plans could depend on Mathys Tel decision

With Richarlison expected to leave Spurs at the end of the season, one can understand why the club might be prioritising signing a versatile forward.

However, the amount they spend on that position might depend on whether Tel decides to move to N17 on a permanent basis at the end of the campaign.

If the Frenchman does agree to a move, Spurs might be better off spending the bulk of their budget on other areas and bringing in a relatively young and inexpensive striker.

Tottenham Hotspur have been backed to launch another assault for an England international during the summer after failing with a mega offer for him during the dying stages of the January window.

Tottenham fail in their efforts to sign another centre-back

Spurs ended the transfer window with a bang, securing a loan deal for Mathys Tel with an option to buy him permanently for £45.7m, but there was one disappointment at the North London club when the window slammed shut.

Despite their efforts, the Lilywhites were unable to bring another centre-back through the door, with Axel Disasi reportedly rejecting a move to N17 in favour of joining Aston Villa on loan.

It was even claimed on Monday that Tottenham launched a club-record offer for Marc Guehi, but Crystal Palace turned down the offer as they did not want to lose a key player in the dying stages of the window.

Spurs will try again for Marc Guehi in the summer

The Guardian have now also confirmed that Spurs made a mammoth offer for the Palace star, thought to be worth £70m including bonuses, but the bid was not enough to convince Oliver Glasner’s men to sell the player.

The outlet points out that Guehi, who has 18 months left on his contract at Selhurst Park, was also of interest to Chelsea in January, while Newcastle United and Liverpool are also named as long-term admirers of the England defender.

The publication adds that Ange Postecoglou‘s men ‘will try again’ to secure a deal for Guehi at the end of the season when the centre-back will have just a year left on his deal with the Eagles.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham might be in the market for a Cristian Romero replacement

Romero will have just 12 months left on his contract in the summer and reports over recent months have indicated that the Argentine is hesitant to commit to a new contract.

Those updates have suggested that the World Cup winner is keen to play Champions League football next season, and the only way for Tottenham to enter that competition is if they win the Europa League this season.

Brentford 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur: different approach, but the right result – Match Report

Description

Tottenham Hotspur put two goals past Brentford to register their first Premier League win in 2025 and ease some of the pressure on Ange Postecoglou.

A much-needed win for Tottenham Hotspur

This is the first three points in the whole of 2025 for Tottenham Hotspur, and it’s been a great week for the fans, the players, the manager, and probably the chairman too. It was a much-needed win for Spurs, and after dropping points for the last few weeks, they were desperate for a victory to start to look upwards in the table.

There was some surprise with Tottenham’s team selection after Micky van de Ven was left out of the match day squad, with Ange Postecoglou admitted it was purely a precaution while new signing Kevin Danso was not registered in time to feature.

Mikey Moore started on the right with Kulusevski dropping into midfield. Not many options on the bench either, but that didn’t matter as Ange only made three changes in the game.

First half: Brentford 0-1 Tottenham

The first half saw a good 45 minutes of fluid, no-nonsense football. Brentford looked the more intimidating side in the first few minutes, but soon Spurs started getting their chances. Mikey Moore, despite not being in his preferred position, put up a display that masked his age and inexperience. He didn’t misplace a single pass all game—an unheard-of stat for a Spurs winger. He delivered a delightful ball into the box that Richarlison couldn’t quite reach.

Brentford kept firing balls into their left channel for Kevin Schade to chase, and it seemed Schade almost won every duel with Porro. Yet, Porro, not playing too deep, found support from Archie Gray, who consistently blocked low crosses. Despite Porro losing the most duels (13), his higher positioning helped slow down Brentford’s build-up.

Just before the half-hour mark, Spurs took the lead from a chaotic set piece. Heung-min Son whipped in an inswinging corner, which deflected off Vitaly Janelt and wrong-footed Brentford’s goalkeeper. It was almost an olympico goal, but Spurs fans will happily credit their captain for the delivery. Yves Bissouma also played his part, making it difficult for the keeper to claim the ball—something Spurs have suffered from for a very long time.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Despite leading at the break, Spurs had struggled in the final third, registering an xG of just 0.36 compared to Brentford’s 1.11. It was a tightly contested half, but for once, Spurs were the ones benefitting from a bit of luck.

Second half: Brentford 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Mikey Moore was subbed off at half-time, making way for the birthday boy, Lucas Bergvall, with Kulusevski shifting to the wing. The second half began with Brentford piling on the pressure, desperate for an equaliser. Christian Norgaard and Mikkel Damsgaard continued to cause problems, but Djed Spence and Ben Davies kept Bryan Mbeumo quiet. Not something Brentford would’ve expected.

Spurs looked content to sit back and absorb pressure, something they haven’t done often under Postecoglou. Brentford continued to push for an equaliser, but their final ball was lacking. Meanwhile, Tottenham had a few dangerous counter-attacks, but Brentford’s interceptions kept them in the game.

Djed Spence, in particular, was the standout performer. He looked sharp on the ball, always aiming to progress forward rather than playing it safe. More importantly, he kept Mbeumo from using his physicality, denying him space at every opportunity.

With 3 minutes left for normal time, Spurs scored their decisive second goal. Son, with his seventh Premier League assist of the season, played a perfectly timed through ball, and Pape Sarr finished coolly through Valdimarsson’s legs. Talk about liquid football and this is the kind of goal you think of.

Brentford ended the game with an xG of 2.29—their highest in a Premier League match without scoring—while Spurs finished with just 0.75. The hosts dominated possession (54%) and created more chances, but as they found out, stats don’t win games. Spurs’ resilience did.

Takeaways and conclusion

Credit where it’s due. With so many key defenders missing, Spurs still managed to keep a clean sheet against one of the highest goal-scoring sides at home. Antonin Kinsky made crucial blocks and distributed well, although perhaps a cap would’ve helped in the second half. Ben Davies, or “Mr Reliable,” once again stepped up, with 10 clearances and 9 headed ones—a proper shift from the Welshman.

But the star of the show? Djed Spence. An incredible goal-line clearance right after Spurs’ second goal was just one of many crucial contributions. A massive hand in today’s clean sheet.

This clearly wasn’t a typical Tottenham game, but sometimes you need to adapt to the opponent and probably your own situation—something Ange did perfectly. This game might’ve seemed more like Conteball than Angeball, but what matters most is those three points, more than a particular style of play.

27-year-old striker becomes latest player to reject Tottenham move

Description

After being turned down by both Mathys Tel and Fikayo Tomori, Tottenham have now been rejected yet again, this time by an exciting Ligue 1 forward.

Spurs have found it challenging to attract top players

Tottenham have found out during this transfer window just how difficult it is to attract top talent when one is languishing in 16th place in the Premier League table.

The Lilywhites were first turned down by Randal Kolo Muani earlier this month, and over the last few days, both Mathys Tel and Fikayo Tomori have said no to Ange Postecoglou‘s men.

Now, according to reports from France, the Premier League side have failed in another one of their late transfer pursuits after making an approach for a Monaco man.

Breel Embolo turns down potential Tottenham move

This update comes from journalist Loic Tanzi, who claims that Tottenham made an approach for Breel Embolo, who has found himself in and out of the starting eleven at Stade Louis II this season.

The Swiss international, who is a striker by trade, but can also operate wide on the right, has five goals and seven assists to his name so far this season.

However, Tanzi says that despite Spurs being ‘notably’ interested in the 26-year-old, he has decided to remain at Monaco until the end of the campaign.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The journalist suggests that Embolo‘s future is expected to once again become the topic of much speculation and interest at the end of the season.

Which forward will Tottenham turn to now?

It is not clear at the moment who the other forwards on Tottenham’s wishlist are, but one would hope that the club do have some deals lined up as fallback options.

With little over 24 hours to go, the Spurs hierarchy are now in a race against time to bring a forward through the door.

Five things we learned from Tottenham’s 2-0 away win at Brentford

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are finally back to winning ways in the Premier League after six defeats and a draw on the bounce, picking up an unlikely three points away to Brentford.

Let’s take a look at the five things we learned from the match:

Boring old game… about time too, Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou will say it’s not the way Tottenham want to play – and that’s okay. It’s acceptable to buckle to the reality of the current injury crisis by playing a little more defensively and disciplined. As long as the players know what is expected of them in the grand scheme of things, you take a win and a clean sheet away to Brentford all day long.

Pedro Porro and Djed Spence played more like full-backs in a standard back four this afternoon, while Ben Davies and Archie Gray weren’t afraid to go long if the moment called for it. I never thought I’d be happy to have watched a classic fusion of Mourinho and Conte-ball, but there we have it. Tottenham Hotspur are up to the dizzying heights of 14th in the Premier League table.

Stopping the rot ahead of a big week

Going into the Liverpool match after an eighth Premier League game without a win would not have been ideal – let’s be honest.

More than that, earning a clean sheet against one of the top scorers in the Premier League will give Spurs a huge confidence boost ahead of a daunting Anfield trip. After all, a clean sheet against Mo Salah and co – however unlikely – would see Tottenham reach the final of the Carabao Cup.

Even in the bigger picture, it was important for Spurs to grab all three points today in whatever fashion possible. At least Ange Postecoglou can sleep a little easier in terms of his job security for a week or two.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Postecoglou is more comfortable using Dane Scarlett

Will Lankshear played a combined ten minutes of Premier League football this season before being sent out on loan to West Brom. Dane Scarlett has already surpassed that in one single game. With Scarlett having a couple of years on Lankshear and a lot more senior professional football experience, it appears that Postecoglou is more comfortable throwing him on for the final 20 minutes of matches.

This was much-needed today because Richarlison, who is not long back from an injury spell, looked shattered after 70 minutes on the pitch. Hopefully, Dane can take these chances with both hands. Who knows, maybe he can even be the hero against Liverpool next week!

Djed Spence Man of the Match for Tottenham

Without a doubt, Djed Spence was Man of the Match today. Like we said before, Tottenham’s two full-backs were far more reserved today, which is why the Lilywhites managed to grind out a rare clean sheet. However, Spence had the tough task of marking one of the best players of the season in Bryan Mbeumo – and he almost marked him out of the game.

Not only is Spence fast of foot, but he’s a strong lad too, using his body well to ease Mbeumo aside on more than one race down the channel. Not only that, but Spence showed so much quality on the ball in the build-up and even cleared a shot off the line minutes before Tottenham scored their second. He earned that Spurs win in more ways than one today. Well done, Djed!

Ben Davies deserves credit

Of course, Archie Gray has been getting a lot of credit of late and he deserves every bit of it. But, let’s talk about his centre-back partner Ben Davies for a moment today. Coming back into the side to replace the injured Radu Dragusin, Davies barely put a foot wrong today, living up to his Mr Reliable nickname.

Arguably, the Welshman is a better passer of the ball than Dragusin and maybe even Micky Van de Ven on that left side, having played left-back most of his career. Not only that, but he headed away so many dangerous crosses throughout the 90 – something Brentford had clearly highlighted to attack in their game plan. According to FotMob, Davies made ten clearances in the match, nine of those with his head. Using his head on and off the ball, well in, Ben!

Tottenham Hotspur have made a late move to sign Kevin Danso from RC Lens, hijacking a deal that was close to completion from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Let’s find out who this centre-back is.

Tottenham hijacked Wolves’ transfer for Kevin Danso

On February 1st 2025, it was revealed that Tottenham Hotspur had hijacked Kevin Danso’s transfer from RC Lens to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to reports, Tottenham‘s swoop was rather late as the centre-back was set for a medical with Wolves. It certainly felt good to be on the other end, as Spurs had witnessed a similar fate earlier in the same window when Randal Kolo Muani opted for Juventus instead of Spurs while Fikayo Tomori turned down a transfer to Tottenham along with Bayern’s Mathys Tel.

But who is this centre-back that the Lilywhites have gone through all this hassle for? Is he really worth the effort? Let’s meet him.

Who is Kevin Danso?

Kevin Danso was born on 19 September 1998 in Austria to Ghanaian parents, and his footballing journey began at a young age when he moved to Milton Keynes in England at the age of six.

He developed his skills in the academies of Reading and MK Dons before making the switch to Germany, where his professional career took off.

Initially playing as a striker in his youth, Danso transitioned into a defensive role as he progressed through the ranks.

What position does Kevin Danso play?

Danso has established himself as a right-footed centre-back, but his versatility allows him to play in different defensive roles when required.

Up until the start of February 2025, Kevin Danso has played 203 matches as a centre-back, four as a right-back, three as a left-back, and two as a defensive midfielder.

Kevin Danso goals and assists so far

Although primarily a defender, Danso has contributed with goals and assists throughout his career, as a centre-back, Danso’s goal contributions are rather impressive.

The 26-year-old centre-back has noted a total of 22 goal involvement throughout his career. He has scored ten and assisted twelve in a total of 212 appearances.

This season, he is yet to find the back of the net – hopefully, he gets back to scoring after making the switch to north London.

What can Tottenham Hotspur fans expect from Kevin Danso?

Tottenham Hotspur dealt second transfer snub in the space of 24 hours

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt another embarrassing transfer snub leaving the club scrambling for new signings with the winter window set to close.

An embarrassing transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have spent much of the January transfer window searching for both defensive and attacking reinforcements, as injuries and failed negotiations have left them scrambling for options in key areas.

Earlier in the window, the club’s primary focus was on securing forward cover, with efforts made to bring in Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain and Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, yet neither pursuit proved successful.

With three days remaining before the deadline, speculation continues over whether Tottenham Hotspur will make further additions and today they have been dealt another transfer blow.

Respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has taken to X to reveal that Fikayo Tomori is not open to joining Tottenham and instead wants to stay at AC Milan.

Radu Dragusin’s recent injury has further complicated their situation, forcing Ange Postecoglou to consider a defensive addition late in the window.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Fikayo Tomori says no to Tottenham Hotspur

With 32 days of the window having passed without an outfield arrival, Tottenham Hotspur are still scrambling to make signings despite the need for fresh faces in Ange Postecoglou’s squad having been evident for months.

With Fikayo Tomori’s feelings about a move to Tottenham almost echoing what Mathys Tel thought about the prospect of joining a struggling Premier League side, it just highlights the mess in which the club currently is.

Having pursued both Randal Kolo Muani and Mathys Tel earlier in the window, Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in adding a forward has been evident.

With time running out, the question remains whether they have an alternative targets in mind or if a defensive and forward addition will be made in the summer.

For now, speculation will persist and as fans the hope is that at least one more addition is made before the February 3rd deadline.
